Not a bad idea. Making the content i make, i habe to be careful with what type of refund id be asking for because people will assume id refund packs i check out, which isnt my intention. So even a 10 minute refund would be good in my eyes, to give people an out
Dude you are totally right I can't tell you how many packs I bought that I just hated and that were not even close to the screenshots that they showed. Mojang needs a department that reviews these before they go up and makes sure they are what they show them to be.
This Review department already exists, the problem is that they don't care about quality, only about scandalous or prejudiced things and their profit, They will only stop this if they start to lose income from it, as long as customers buy they will continue selling.
I still believe the marketplace should have a sort of "demo" feature, with which you can play with packs, addons and worlds for free for, like, a few days or something so you can make your mind wether or not to buy them. For now the best is to just watch content creators sacrificing themselves buying and testing stuff to make up our decisions
they used to do for consoles back in the day when minecraft made texture packs before the marketplace. they had a sample world where you could mess around, but u just couldn't save. a 30 min demo for creator made packs would be a great idea
Since the inclusion of add-ons I’ve been checking quite a number of them, a lot of the time they are slightly buggy and don’t 100% deliver as advertised, you might get 1 or 2 patches but then the developer will drop support leaving you with a less than ideal product, totally agree things with market place in general needs improvement to protect consumers and promote confidence in the product

I wish content creators would just go back to making creative and artistic texture packs instead of this ridiculous trend of "realistic" texture packs that are just using the success of a couple marketplace content packs and exploiting the name "realism" to make a quick buck.

Honestly the most frustrating part is trying to follow a tutorial with shaders and texture packs. It's never going to look as good as the video, and often the blocks can be confusing.
Well, if we are going to put this into the light. The store commits many illegal things. Like 1 click to buy (should always have a confirmation by law) and no refunds, no previews, no written reviews, 5 stars instead of 10, no quality control for Nothing, etc. It's just designed to take kids money
The "True Realism" texture pack is my go to. It doesn't claim to be a shader of any kind. Just original detailed textures. Textures that are likely as close as we're gonna get without using photos. Unlike others, the texture pack doesn't hurt my eyes at all. Not overly bright, and not overly complex that it makes identification of objects difficult. That said, it does need a update. It's missing the Pale Garden texture update. Oddly enough, the pale Garden objects look fine within it. Just obviously lower quality textures and overly bright compared to other textures. But still not a eye sore. Except for icons like the pale oak boat with chest. That icon looks VERY outdated in this texture pack. I don't know if it's a texture issue or a actual game issue. But some items, bundle, hopper, string, comparator, arrows, apple, and a few other icons always appear your size (or bigger) when held in a hand or on a item frame. That BADLY needs fixing. Other than that, I still love this texture pack. OH! Almost forgot. For some reason, all of the frogs look green in this texture pack. So if you're frog hunting, then turn off the pack first.
I recently started playing Minecraft on my laptop because I want to slowly transition into playing games on PC instead of buying new consoles every generation. When I purchased the "Bedrock + Java" pack, it came with the "Clarity" texture pack, and while I didn't like it at first, and there ARE a couple of things I still don't like (Some blocks look too similar or generic and the world is less vibrant and dark), I've kept it on mainly do to it removing the Nether fog (on Bedrock, I've not touched Java yet) which gives me more confidence to explore. But yeah, I've held off on buying texture packs because I'm not convinced by what I'm being shown. The marketplace should include a "try it yourself" mode where the creator of the texture makes a short, scripted, Adventure mode locked path for the player to walk along with every biome (across day and night cycles using command blocks), mob, block, entity, dimension (via portals) so that the player can get a look at what the texture pack has to offer.
Yh im in the side of "texture packs should have significant changes" to be worth it I have a texture pack review series to help people see inside the packs. But in honesty, people shouldnt havd to come to another platform to get confidence
Thank you bro, 1st, we need f***kin shaders on bedrock console, 2nd, out of all 50 packs I have purchased off the marketplace, I only end up playing the same 3 packs cuz the rest are either weird looking, or terrible color schemes with plain bad textures. I agree 100% i work with 4 studios and have expressed my distast in texture packs every team had somethinf negative to say abour how the marketplace works with texture packs and said most teams arent trying new textures rather a few bucks
Another thing to note, on console there’s no way to tell if a pack is incompatible so you just gotta hope that you can even play the pack you’re buying
I think shaders are the next big step for sure. They make the default textures look incredible. In comparisons with and without shaders it makes the same build look 100x better with shaders. It has the most impact vs texture packs that change alot of things for good and bad
I haven’t purchased anything since RealismCraft. It’s so good and added everything I could ever want to the game. The nether update is mind blowing! They’ve already updated the creaking and pale forest and it looks so much better than what Mojang does.
@@dontgivetwothwips3615 absolutely agree, I’ve looked a few other packs since realismcraft but they have set the bar so high that I keep coming back to it, and they are supporting and updating the pack as well which is a big plus
Since Daz had a rant here is mine #1 quality has dropped and I cannot say I am impressed with anything except the 2 big ones Realism Craft and Realism Fields and Forest. Let me list of a few others of these creators that silently slip in a world that will shock you how great they put together a texture pack yes creating a world and adding assets to help but if you were to just look at the texture pack by itself it's still amazing... Hers is just a few My cozy cottage (Imagiverse) UHC Survival Island (Craft Stars Cottage Core (recently added) Nature Snap (razzleberries) Bloom (gamemode one). This creator has a different one for each world he makes. Then you have the packs that for years have been updated they stuck around they've been loyal to their fans and passionately updated their packs keeping them as beautiful as they were from the start Mizuno Craft Afreshed Textures Block Pixel Quldral Conquest Modern Textures HD True Realism Full of life Creator Pack And these are just to name a few some I am not naming for another reason why I am disappointed the best packs are now starting to become lost to time and not updated. So what am I trying to say here? I'm saying if a texture pack creator has created a beautiful texture pack and has been updating it with every update you guys are what made texture packs great to begin with and we appreciate the hard work and dedication that you put in painfully making sure every block had that special love put into it. But what seems like has been happening is a pack is being rushed, lying about features, and just not being creative or innovative. They are throwing packs out there and seeing if they can make a couple bucks off of it by pumping up their screen shots and that is pitiful the last texture pack I bought was Perfect Realism 128x and it was okay but it was just the same thing I have seen so many times before realistic sky Sun and Moon and an ugly fog I really don't like seeing anyways. And now there's this trend you buy a texture pack for the update Minecraft id currently on and if you just decide to get that texture pack at the end right before an update.... It seems like good luck seeing that texture pack ever updated again. I cannot tell you the number of disappointments I have had eoth texture packs that I absolutely loved never to be updated again with nobody being able to do a damn thing about it. And if it was done by a random person and they got a Minecraft partner to sell it for them and then the person that made the texture pack doesn't want to update it it's gone never to be updated again. I cannot support this again it's not the money its because I feel in love with the Art they created... I don't like going through the disappointment that I'm going through when this happens... let's take for example a huge marketplace partner GoE-Craft they have barely updated any of their packs they released one and maybe updated 1 or 2 unacceptable, some of my favorites C-Tetra, Clear Craft, perfect shades, Paisley craft all gone.... It's happening to pathaway studios, Syclone Studios, tetrascape... And there's just some that don't even try and I'm not going to list their names... I believe that the ones that I listed off about not updating certain packs are getting hit hard with not updating some of their best only recently came into this position and it may not be their fault and maybe its taking longer than usual. I don't know if it was the add-ons that everybody is having a heyday over that made these people run from texture packs and on to the next cash grab with your add-ons but you're right quality of the textures are down updates are not happening, they promise more than they can deliver, and it seems like some they don't even try. But there is hope there are some Minecraft partners out there that are newer and it seems they are standing behind their work and creating some great stuff and maybe we'll have new texture pack revolution once shaders are released as part of full game I hope this video reaches many I hope some of those creators that have beautiful pieces of art that they cannot maintain anymore I hope they can release to somebody to develop them so they can be updated and enjoy it again by all. And please stop with the waving wiggly plants and leaves or give us the option to turn it off its way too distracting Just a question in order for a texture pack to stay alive and updated would you pay a small fee for getting the next update let's just say it is no more than 1 dollar per full update like 1.21 - 1.22.
Very well worded and very insightful. I dont know how if feel about paying for updates, but i understand why it would help ensure packs get updated. It would definitely need to be a minimal fee for upgrades
I have collected a fairly large inventory of resource/texture packs. Chroma Hills and the RealCW had alwys been my favorites. They were the ones I used the most, but unfortunately, they have fallen by the way side and are no longer updated. Maybe resource packs that have not been updated since before 1.20 should be placed under a tab for packs that are not caught up to the current release. I have seen some packs that still haven't updated since 1.16 😮. I've given up on my previous favs and started using Creator and Mizuno. They seem to keep their products updated regularly, and I have been happy with them. Lets hope they continue to do so.
Hear, hear! I’ve been ripped off by the marketplace with a bugged world that was unplayable but I was denied a refund and was told I couldn’t appeal the decision. Greedy, greedy company I think videos showing off the packs for worlds or textures should require so people get a chance to see what they actually get.

they should do what Legacy Console did and have a trial option where you can play with a texture pack or add-on for free, but if you do, you can't save the game until you buy the pack. also, marketplace needs a "last updated" thing, and a "discontinued" tag, so you can know when a pack's most recent update was before buying it, and can know if it'll keep recieving updates or not. This would also be good for increasing marketplace content sales, since people might be more willing to buy packs that they see are getting consistently updated.
True realism is my most favorite texture pack!! It's great if you want a more gritty texture style instead of cartoon like. I also have Biohazard, it's decently realistic looking too, but it has some map creator textured blocks so beware of that. It's mostly for map creators.
@@DazMan yea I just wish they had a version that wasn't made for map creators. Some of my most favorite building blocks have random city/factory like designs on them, I think they should give a free version to people who paid for it that doesn't include map maker blocks yknow? I'd use it way more for survival bc mobs look so awrsome on it!!
I have a few, True Realism, Conquest, and RealismCraft Bedrock edition here. Conquest is great for textures, True Realism is pretty decent for the price, the Craft I hate and lags down my game plus you can't seem to play on vanilla you start a new world server separate because of the generation of structure and such. Also definitely at least a 2 hour to see more of the packs would be needed.
This is why I stick to the old legacy texture packs that I bought years ago and have been ported to bedrock, and for the 2 realism ones I had, I got them to make my siblings laugh.
I've been happier and more impressed with a lot of the simplistic packs that throw in a little artistic creativity than with most of these packs that promise realism or shaders, honestly my favorite texture pack is world of cubes, it's fun and delivers on its promises.
(Edit: i do a lot of testing of items like maps and texture packs and now addons to see compatibility between packs and such) Thank you for talking about this. I still have a major issue with the fact that the marketplace doesnt allow for written reviews. It wouldnt be hard considering minecraft already has profanity filtering. It makes packs like anything "realism" related super confusing for younger kids. It feels scummy on multiple levels.
@DazMan I dont buy or bother buying a full 5 star if it's not over 40 reviews. At this point, I don't care and feel bad for honest content makers. It's just not fair and should 100% be a feature to allow a written review. It makes zero sense that there isn't an implementation for it. For marketplace has been a thing for long enough now too. Microsoft listens to me when adding or tweaking certain things but I can't and will not have any sort of pull coming over from testing features from Microsoft/Xbox where they can see its not just another note in the complaint jar. I've known for a while now that mojang has been super unorthodox with certain practices but in a lot of ways, it keeps their jobs secure, in others, like the review system, it should be flat out illegal not to do anything about it. Sooner or later it'll get fixed. It's needs to change or they'll eventually get sued by someone who's kid spent too much or even an adult or threw their life away on the marketplace and happens to blame it on the lack of a proper review system. It's super manipulatable and that's asking for trouble eventually.
@bladeshifter that rule about not buying 5star packs under 40 reviews is very good. I hope that the change comes soon, before anything serious has to happen
@DazMan I could not be more angry about it and I don't care about what I'm spending my money on but God forbid anyone else took a sec to realize what you said in your video without even watching it, they'd see and feel and think the same things. 😅 it blows my mind it's gone unhanged and unchallenged this long. I'm glad you've spoken about it. Now at least it means more people will start to see and the more creators that are willing to speak up, they will eventually listen because it makes minecraft and its team look pretty stupid.
@DazMan I also deeply implore anyone without a job who may be reading these comments, stick to the rule, if a piece of content is not at least 50 reviews yet and it's 5 stars, wait a little longer, watch other people's content on it and if you can't find any, continue to hold off because it's not worth the hassle of trying to get a refund.
Realism Craft mashup pack is by far the best pack. I dont really remember alot of good ones, most are stinkers. TrueRealism HD is VERY realistic. Seasons Realism was alright, but the seasons changing was very short when i reviewed it. It has been extended now. I think realism shades was alright too. Theres a lot more stinkers out there though. Its very tough to find a good one
@@PepinilloAtomiko Daz Man is right about Realism Craft mash-up, but that mash-up doesn't seem to work in every work like texture packs. Realistic Textures HD isn't 100% blocky from the 3D models and it doesn't have the most pixels per block, however they have put effort into that texture pack so even though it's 32 pixels it's as good as 64. Similar story with Clarity, but it's more blocky. Clarity has a nice home screen of a blurry forest background. Afreashed Textures & Animations, Clarity, CreatorPack I guess, Full of Life, and Emulation Story Texture Pack. The Clarity and CreatorPack texture pack doesn't look realistic but gives a vanilla Minecraft experience. I don't own CreatorPack or Realism Craft mash-up. Look for trailers and videos before buying Minecraft texture packs and add-ons. Regarding the Emulation Story Texture Pack: If you want very little realism in Minecraft than the Emulation Story Texture Pack which I think still costs 660, gives 64 pixel setting, and 128 pixel setting. The Emulation Story Texture Pack looks a little more realistic and less Minecraft like than before from the sheep getting horns, although the pumpkins and melons because more blocky. The beds are 3D shaped with creative blankets. The clay and grass blocks looks very nice. Daz Man has a video of this in part from me requesting it.

Moonlight vfx was actually pretty cool if you can manage to make it run. I couldnt pair it with anything. Sad to see majestic camping assets turned invisible when paired with realism craft too. I cant believe i havent been subscribed to your channel. Ive gone through so many packs in the last few months, that if I'd found your channel first, mine might not even exist right now.

This might be off topic but in my opinion they need at least some form of a refund system, because once realismcraft hit 1.4, I was unable to update it, my game breaks when I try, and like I wasted all my money and now I can't get my money back. Same thing happened to me with Insanecraft. In my opinion, there needs to be some form of a refund system, like half back or something. Because something needs to be done.
Realistic Biomes is a really good pack to buy if your considering enhancing your game. It’s not a shader, but it adds beautiful day and night sky, winds, raindrops, fog

As you said, it's doubtful anything will become of it, at least not for a long time... but I don't think the marketplace can maintain these kinds of shady practices without eventually unduring a loss once people cotton on to who the repeat-offenders are amongst the publishers and creators misselling their packs with the methods you described and boycotting them. It only takes a spark to start a fire, so maybe your "rant" will open up some eyes and start a new anti-"realism pack" trend that turns the tables on them eventually! Full of Life is definitely the best one. It’s clean and doesn’t try to be too real while feeling like Minecraft. Easy on the eyes. The items are instantly identifiable in inventory too. They always update new blocks right away and updated all the Creaking blocks the day after release
I just got done recording the "what to buy Wednesday" video, where i look at whats new in the marketplace and give my initial response based on thumbnail and description (started this series 3 weeks ago)... Ill be honest, i purposely kept myself reserved when i saw it. I dont want to beat a horse by ranting every video AND i want to make sure i dont immediately accuse add ons and packs of being bad without seeing it... that being said, if i review it and its trash, i wont hold back!
I know this is completely off topic, and I understand the nature of Minecraft aesthetic. However I do wish there was a texture pack that was surrounded around the weapons and tools. I would enjoy seeing three dimensional items, while keeping most of the textures of everything else the same. The only other thing I want to accompany the three dimensional items, are a few animations. Spiders walking up the walls that we rarely see with texture packs that alters animations, and climbing. Once again, I am sorry for being so random. With that said, I love your videos.
I used to think pvp texture packs would be like this. But got a surprise there when I realised they dont do unique weapons. I would love the idea of a mob that focuses on mob animations. A spider crawling up a wall properly sounds awesome! But i fear arachnophobia suffers would hate it

I think that instead of realism, we need to shift to authenticity. Instead of trying to make Minecraft realistic, it should be trying to bump up the quality to make something feel like a better Minecraft. The best example I can think of is the upcoming Actions & Stuff mod. It is not super realistic, but it feels like Minecraft if you added MC Dungeons animations to it, and that works so well!!
I absolutely agree. In essence, quality of life improvements that build on Minecraft and make the game feel a little more realistic whilst not promising the world for visual changes
A few years ago On ps4 I accidentally bought a pack because of lag, was checking out the packs and went to click on the pictures then it jumped to the top and bought the pack before i knew it. I was on controller and it didn't ask if I wanted to buy the pack it just purchased it because i had the tokens in my account. What I learned is to never have tokens in your account because you it might lag and you're not getting you're money back.
I don’t want “realism”, I want the same textures the game already has. All I really want is some immersion. Just a faint element of really distant things maybe being a little out of focus so I have a reason to use the spyglass, mild god rays some reflections and neat water effects, and MAYBE some particle effects. Now that I’m on more powerful hardware, my render distance is really far and I feel like there’s room for some mild improvements. But I would only want it to be mild. No texture changes aside from maybe water, and no instances of birds in the sky that you can’t interact with. Just some mild tweaks to the lighting and particle effects would satisfy me. There anything for me on there or does it all go overboard?
I cant think of anything that does what your asking for in a limited context. All i can think of is a bit more. But maybe others can suggest something good? I do have a lot of realism pack reviews on the channel also if you wanted to dive down that rabbit hole
@@DazMan I’ll have a peruse through your content and see if I like anything. But I’m guessing anything I’d like would be a Java mod and not something you can get on the marketplace. And it’s a shame because the effects I’m looking for would probably be subtle. Some weather effects could be cool… maybe like you have windy days and storms with more or less intensity. But for the most part I’m content with the actual textures that come with Minecraft. Hell, I’ve been away long enough that coming back to it and finding geodes and deepslate gold veins is new to me. I think what essentially set in for me is that I had a memory of what Minecraft used to be and the fog wasn’t very far away when I used to play. Now that Minecraft has such an impressive render distance, it feels like the fog alone doesn’t quite cut it anymore, atmospherically speaking, while the water is actually too cloudy and only once you’re in it. Would be nice to get something subtle that makes me feel like I’m in a different place based on the biome I’m in and the weather, without imposing too much on what Minecraft is. I’ve seen some interesting implimentation of light and other effects in some mods, but they usually come with other stuff that I don’t want so much, like they make villagers look like Wallace and Gromit characters or they focus blur makes the world look like a Macro Camera looking at toys while the Godrays are screaming at me.
@GlaciusTS one thing i would say, the fog gets incredibly stronger when you reduce the render distance. Have you tried reducing it? (Even though, you shouldnt have to)
You have a point. I don't like any of the REALISTIC packs, that's just me. I can make an informed decision sometimes looking at what someone has there. Sometimes I wish we had the freedom of JAV with our MARKETPLACE
TrueRealism HD was the original texture pack that set off this trend. It, in my opinion, it is the best of all the high-rise texture packs on the marketplace itself. It has atmospheric fog and overall great everything. However, due to its immediate sales increase, many other packs became emulations of it. And here we are.
Its a shame, because i really have a new respect for TrueRealism HD and it doesnt deserve to be lumped in with the bad stuff. RealismCraft is amazing and new, im not the biggest fan of Realism VFX, when its in the same conversation as RealismCraft
Whenever I see these packs in the store, I always feel so disappointed. Personally. I am more hyped for Poggy's Luminous Dreams. It's probably the only pack I am gonna get, texture pack wise. The packs that have dropped, aren't even shaders in my opinion; or anything close. The models they change, aren't needed really. I just want like a vanilla minecraft texture, with fancy pretty lighting and glowy bits. Like the Super Ultra Mega Graphics was supposed to be, or Minecraft RTX.
@DazMan that is true. I will say that. But idk how much you keep up to date with minecraft but shaders are coming soon. Called the deferred rendering. Eckosoldier and wattles have covered this. And they just announced that it will come nintendo switch which is what I play on. Now if this is one of those where it gets scrapped or they stop working on performance and stuff. That would literally make so many people mad and upset. Including me I guess. Because it's in beta and preview rn and every other week or so people that can test out new features if they have the beta and preview version. And a lot of creators have been testing shaders in development for months now with new features getting added overtime. But just a few weeks ago they stopped making new features because they are pretty much done with the features and now they are working on performance for all platforms of bedrock. Beta and preview if u didn't know let's you test out new features, give feedback before it is even released to the public. But yea this time it will be very devastating if one day they announce that this type of shaders once again is just it for them meaning they aren't going to continue with it. This time it would be very depressing if they do this again. Cuz a lot of people were testing it, playing with it, messing with it on beta and preview. Which the last time shaders were coming and for sure before they canceled it, we didn't even have an option to test the shaders and stuff. Correct if I am wrong. But it would not be good if they cancel on this shaders as well. Well it's not because we are going to have positive mind, it is coming soon and we will playing with shaders that we always wanted. Sry for the rant or so many news lol. Otherwise love your content and can't wait for more
Realism craft and realistic biomes are the two best and most realistic addons/mashup packs. Those are the only two anyone should buy with the words realism/realistic in their names.
3:00 shrimple shaders with patrix 32x resource pack, complimentary: unbound, BSL or pretty much any paid rtx shaders for minecraft that can make it into some of the best graphics you can get in the games engine, also not mentioning the insane physics mods and npc designs.
Content creators seem to use shaders, but I feel they are unnecessary. If a resource/texture pack creator has made their water clear, then I am happy. Sun rays and shadows are extraneous to gameplay. Good job, Daz, on calling out the predators in the realism field. I have only added one resource/texture pack to one of my worlds-Lithos-which the creator still updates. I am very particular about textures, in that they must have some aspects of realism without being a faithful copy of real life, and animals should have close to real life colors and patterns. (Minecraft animals could easily have better models, particularly horses, and the Livestock Overhaul mod by DragN on CurseForge remedies ALL of those models-you can even herd cows with the horses!) (But the Star Worm Equestrian Mod-SWEM-is still the best mod for horse models and horse behaviors, and is being updated-but slowly, since the dev is in university.)
Tbh, there is only one texture pack i like and use regularly. "Better default." So many of the texture packs that have anything more than that crashes my game. (I play on xbox) its the same with the add-ons. Ive bought and tried so many and only use a few. Straight lines do excest in nature but very rarly roc, mountains and more formations can be shaped extreamly Straight due to somthing we call the arkem razor effect
Do you have a lot worlds saved? Go into settings and find "storage" or something similar from the menu. U may need to delete some worlds. When your on the screen to choose a world to play, is there a green bar at the bottom of the screen? Is it full?
Its not even just texture packs, the marketplace is INCREDIBLY over saturated with the same addons over and over again, all the same furniture, evolving mobs, combing weapons etc etc. There's almost never anything actually "new" each week

I agree with your video . Most of the realism textures are trash . I owed bedrock mcpe since day one ( android), and I have most of the textures made by Minecraft and some by other devs. At the moment, I am using Afresh textures and animations. Looking into x4 and x8 textures. He is my example. Textures Better default 8 bit/ Super Retro / 4 bit craft . I gave up on marketplace realism stuff. These packs can handle my add ons .And the frame rate 👌. Old school here needs frame rate even tho my device is the RedMagic 9plus . Thank you for your video. The truth must be heard 🎉🎉🎉🎉
@DazMan info like: - When and/or if the pack will be updated in the future for added blocks. - Pictures not showing all or at least most blocks. - Whether the 256x256 packs will work on consoles - Can the pack be used in monetized videos
@DazMan in my mind, I assume that like music at some point if you use a texture pack in videos, the owner can come along and copyright claim the videos. Imagine using a texture pack in 100s of videos just for your work being stolen or demonetized. Some of these packs don't have links to the creators of the pack with the terms of use. To be fair, it most likely wouldn't happen because if your channel becomes popular using their texture pack, they stand to gain as well from sale and exposure. But greed can get to people. I use a texture pack on my channel that I'm not completely sure about.
The realistic biomes pack is very close to a shader, the filter also looks awesome. Not only that, but the best news is that they are developing the pack and the latest update has some more shader like features. If you haven't got it, it is the #1 addon to have. Complete gamechanger.
@DazMan Thanks for all the videos, I must have watched 20 at least. Anyway use the "film" filter, go for a run through the dense forest with block pixel. Truth is, Im not looking for a shader pack anymore after seeing that. Quadral in the acacia village and the dense forest also looked very strong with the same filter Although I have different conclusions to your videos. I have to say this, but I recon your reviews are different to peoples opinions because you have seen the top / best texture packs and now the others seem less adequate. Thanks for all the uploads. Im not an expert, i just have opinions like everyone else :) i always say, the main point of the review and reveal videos is showing whats inside, not my opinions i share. bought the packs that are “realistic” and just crash the game 9/10 games despite turning the settings down then being taken off the market place with no refund or anything. have done this a couple times.

Dude you are totally right I can't tell you how many packs I bought that I just hated and that were not even close to the screenshots that they showed. Mojang needs a department that reviews these before they go up and makes sure they are what they show them to be.

This Review department already exists, the problem is that they don't care about quality, only about scandalous or prejudiced things and their profit, They will only stop this if they start to lose income from it, as long as customers buy they will continue selling.
I still believe the marketplace should have a sort of "demo" feature, with which you can play with packs, addons and worlds for free for, like, a few days or something so you can make your mind wether or not to buy them. For now the best is to just watch content creators sacrificing themselves buying and testing stuff to make up our decisions

they used to do for consoles back in the day when minecraft made texture packs before the marketplace. they had a sample world where you could mess around, but u just couldn't save. a 30 min demo for creator made packs would be a great idea

Since the inclusion of add-ons I’ve been checking quite a number of them, a lot of the time they are slightly buggy and don’t 100% deliver as advertised, you might get 1 or 2 patches but then the developer will drop support leaving you with a less than ideal product, totally agree things with market place in general needs improvement to protect consumers and promote confidence in the product
This is what I was ranting about your last texture pack review. I wish content creators would just go back to making creative and artistic texture packs instead of this ridiculous trend of "realistic" texture packs that are just using the success of a couple marketplace content packs and exploiting the name "realism" to make a quick buck.

Honestly the most frustrating part is trying to follow a tutorial with shaders and texture packs. It's never going to look as good as the video, and often the blocks can be confusing.

Well, if we are going to put this into the light. The store commits many illegal things. Like 1 click to buy (should always have a confirmation by law) and no refunds, no previews, no written reviews, 5 stars instead of 10, no quality control for Nothing, etc. It's just designed to take kids money

I have a voice that needs to be used...
The "True Realism" texture pack is my go to. It doesn't claim to be a shader of any kind. Just original detailed textures. Textures that are likely as close as we're gonna get without using photos.
Unlike others, the texture pack doesn't hurt my eyes at all. Not overly bright, and not overly complex that it makes identification of objects difficult. That said, it does need a update. It's missing the Pale Garden texture update.
Oddly enough, the pale Garden objects look fine within it. Just obviously lower quality textures and overly bright compared to other textures. But still not a eye sore. Except for icons like the pale oak boat with chest. That icon looks VERY outdated in this texture pack.
I don't know if it's a texture issue or a actual game issue. But some items, bundle, hopper, string, comparator, arrows, apple, and a few other icons always appear your size (or bigger) when held in a hand or on a item frame. That BADLY needs fixing. Other than that, I still love this texture pack.
OH! Almost forgot. For some reason, all of the frogs look green in this texture pack. So if you're frog hunting, then turn off the pack first.

I recently started playing Minecraft on my laptop because I want to slowly transition into playing games on PC instead of buying new consoles every generation. When I purchased the "Bedrock + Java" pack, it came with the "Clarity" texture pack, and while I didn't like it at first, and there ARE a couple of things I still don't like (Some blocks look too similar or generic and the world is less vibrant and dark), I've kept it on mainly do to it removing the Nether fog (on Bedrock, I've not touched Java yet) which gives me more confidence to explore.
But yeah, I've held off on buying texture packs because I'm not convinced by what I'm being shown. The marketplace should include a "try it yourself" mode where the creator of the texture makes a short, scripted, Adventure mode locked path for the player to walk along with every biome (across day and night cycles using command blocks), mob, block, entity, dimension (via portals) so that the player can get a look at what the texture pack has to offer.
Yh im in the side of "texture packs should have significant changes" to be worth it

I think shaders are the next big step for sure. They make the default textures look incredible. In comparisons with and without shaders it makes the same build look 100x better with shaders. It has the most impact vs texture packs that change alot of things for good and bad

I haven’t purchased anything since RealismCraft. It’s so good and added everything I could ever want to the game. The nether update is mind blowing! They’ve already updated the creaking and pale forest and it looks so much better than what Mojang does.

#1 quality has dropped and I cannot say I am impressed with anything except the 2 big ones Realism Craft and Realism Fields and Forest. Let me list of a few others of these creators that silently slip in a world that will shock you how great they put together a texture pack yes creating a world and adding assets to help but if you were to just look at the texture pack by itself it's still amazing...

And these are just to name a few some I am not naming for another reason why I am disappointed the best packs are now starting to become lost to time and not updated.
So what am I trying to say here? I'm saying if a texture pack creator has created a beautiful texture pack and has been updating it with every update you guys are what made texture packs great to begin with and we appreciate the hard work and dedication that you put in painfully making sure every block had that special love put into it.
But what seems like has been happening is a pack is being rushed, lying about features, and just not being creative or innovative. They are throwing packs out there and seeing if they can make a couple bucks off of it by pumping up their screen shots and that is pitiful the last texture pack I bought was Perfect Realism 128x and it was okay but it was just the same thing I have seen so many times before realistic sky Sun and Moon and an ugly fog I really don't like seeing anyways.
And now there's this trend you buy a texture pack for the update Minecraft id currently on and if you just decide to get that texture pack at the end right before an update.... It seems like good luck seeing that texture pack ever updated again. I cannot tell you the number of disappointments I have had eoth texture packs that I absolutely loved never to be updated again with nobody being able to do a damn thing about it. And if it was done by a random person and they got a Minecraft partner to sell it for them and then the person that made the texture pack doesn't want to update it it's gone never to be updated again.
I cannot support this again it's not the money its because I feel in love with the Art they created... I don't like going through the disappointment that I'm going through when this happens... let's take for example a huge marketplace partner GoE-Craft they have barely updated any of their packs they released one and maybe updated 1 or 2 unacceptable, some of my favorites C-Tetra, Clear Craft, perfect shades, Paisley craft all gone.... It's happening to pathaway studios, Syclone Studios, tetrascape... And there's just some that don't even try and I'm not going to list their names... I believe that the ones that I listed off about not updating certain packs are getting hit hard with not updating some of their best only recently came into this position and it may not be their fault and maybe its taking longer than usual.
I don't know if it was the add-ons that everybody is having a heyday over that made these people run from texture packs and on to the next cash grab with your add-ons but you're right quality of the textures are down updates are not happening, they promise more than they can deliver, and it seems like some they don't even try.
But there is hope there are some Minecraft partners out there that are newer and it seems they are standing behind their work and creating some great stuff and maybe we'll have new texture pack revolution once shaders are released as part of full game I hope this video reaches many I hope some of those creators that have beautiful pieces of art that they cannot maintain anymore I hope they can release to somebody to develop them so they can be updated and enjoy it again by all.
And please stop with the waving wiggly plants and leaves or give us the option to turn it off its way too distracting
Just a question in order for a texture pack to stay alive and updated would you pay a small fee for getting the next update let's just say it is no more than 1 dollar per full update like 1.21 - 1.22.
Very well worded and very insightful. I dont know how if feel about paying for updates, but i understand why it would help ensure packs get updated. It would definitely need to be a minimal fee for upgrades
I have collected a fairly large inventory of resource/texture packs. Chroma Hills and the RealCW had alwys been my favorites. They were the ones I used the most, but unfortunately, they have fallen by the way side and are no longer updated. Maybe resource packs that have not been updated since before 1.20 should be placed under a tab for packs that are not caught up to the current release. I have seen some packs that still haven't updated since 1.16 😮. I've given up on my previous favs and started using Creator and Mizuno. They seem to keep their products updated regularly, and I have been happy with them. Lets hope they continue to do so.

they should do what Legacy Console did and have a trial option where you can play with a texture pack or add-on for free, but if you do, you can't save the game until you buy the pack.
also, marketplace needs a "last updated" thing, and a "discontinued" tag, so you can know when a pack's most recent update was before buying it, and can know if it'll keep recieving updates or not. This would also be good for increasing marketplace content sales, since people might be more willing to buy packs that they see are getting consistently updated.

True realism is my most favorite texture pack!! It's great if you want a more gritty texture style instead of cartoon like.
I also have Biohazard, it's decently realistic looking too, but it has some map creator textured blocks so beware of that. It's mostly for map creators.

Some of my most favorite building blocks have random city/factory like designs on them, I think they should give a free version to people who paid for it that doesn't include map maker blocks yknow? I have a few, True Realism, Conquest, and RealismCraft Bedrock edition here. Conquest is great for textures, True Realism is pretty decent for the price, the Craft I hate and lags down my game plus you can't seem to play on vanilla you start a new world server separate because of the generation of structure and such. Also definitely at least a 2 hour to see more of the packs would be needed.

This is why I stick to the old legacy texture packs that I bought years ago and have been ported to bedrock, and for the 2 realism ones I had, I got them to make my siblings laugh.

I've been happier and more impressed with a lot of the simplistic packs that throw in a little artistic creativity than with most of these packs that promise realism or shaders, honestly my favorite texture pack is world of cubes, it's fun and delivers on its promises.

I still have a major issue with the fact that the marketplace doesnt allow for written reviews. It wouldnt be hard considering minecraft already has profanity filtering. It makes packs like anything "realism" related super confusing for younger kids. It feels scummy on multiple levels.

@DazMan I dont buy or bother buying a full 5 star if it's not over 40 reviews. At this point, I don't care and feel bad for honest content makers. It's just not fair and should 100% be a feature to allow a written review. It makes zero sense that there isn't an implementation for it. For marketplace has been a thing for long enough now too. Microsoft listens to me when adding or tweaking certain things but I can't and will not have any sort of pull coming over from testing features from Microsoft/Xbox where they can see its not just another note in the complaint jar. I've known for a while now that mojang has been super unorthodox with certain practices but in a lot of ways, it keeps their jobs secure, in others, like the review system, it should be flat out illegal not to do anything about it. Sooner or later it'll get fixed. It's needs to change or they'll eventually get sued by someone who's kid spent too much or even an adult or threw their life away on the marketplace and happens to blame it on the lack of a proper review system. It's super manipulatable and that's asking for trouble eventually.
@bladeshifter that rule about not buying 5star packs under 40 reviews is very good.

@DazMan I could not be more angry about it and I don't care about what I'm spending my money on but God forbid anyone else took a sec to realize what you said in your video without even watching it, they'd see and feel and think the same things. 😅 it blows my mind it's gone unhanged and unchallenged this long. I'm glad you've spoken about it. Now at least it means more people will start to see and the more creators that are willing to speak up, they will eventually listen because it makes minecraft and its team look pretty stupid.
@DazMan I also deeply implore anyone without a job who may be reading these comments, stick to the rule, if a piece of content is not at least 50 reviews yet and it's 5 stars, wait a little longer, watch other people's content on it and if you can't find any, continue to hold off because it's not worth the hassle of trying to get a refund.

Realism Craft mashup pack is by far the best pack.
I dont really remember alot of good ones, most are stinkers.
TrueRealism HD is VERY realistic.
Seasons Realism was alright, but the seasons changing was very short when i reviewed it. It has been extended now.

@@PepinilloAtomiko Daz Man is right about Realism Craft mash-up, but that mash-up doesn't seem to work in every work like texture packs. Realistic Textures HD isn't 100% blocky from the 3D models and it doesn't have the most pixels per block, however they have put effort into that texture pack so even though it's 32 pixels it's as good as 64. Similar story with Clarity, but it's more blocky. Clarity has a nice home screen of a blurry forest background. Afreashed Textures & Animations, Clarity, CreatorPack I guess, Full of Life, and Emulation Story Texture Pack. The Clarity and CreatorPack texture pack doesn't look realistic but gives a vanilla Minecraft experience. I don't own CreatorPack or Realism Craft mash-up. Look for trailers and videos before buying Minecraft texture packs and add-ons.
Regarding the Emulation Story Texture Pack:
If you want very little realism in Minecraft than the Emulation Story Texture Pack which I think still costs 660, gives 64 pixel setting, and 128 pixel setting. The Emulation Story Texture Pack looks a little more realistic and less Minecraft like than before from the sheep getting horns, although the pumpkins and melons because more blocky. The beds are 3D shaped with creative blankets. The clay and grass blocks looks very nice. Daz Man has a video of this in part from me requesting it.
@@PepinilloAtomiko In short: Consider the Afreashed Textures & Animations, Clarity (32p), CreatorPack, Full of Life (64p), and Emulation Story Texture Pack (64p-128p).

This might be off topic but in my opinion they need at least some form of a refund system, because once realismcraft hit 1.4, I was unable to update it, my game breaks when I try, and like I wasted all my money and now I can't get my money back. Same thing happened to me with Insanecraft. In my opinion, there needs to be some form of a refund system, like half back or something. Because something needs to be done.

Realistic Biomes is a really good pack to buy if your considering enhancing your game. It’s not a shader, but it adds beautiful day and night sky, winds, raindrops, fog

Full of Life is definitely the best one. It’s clean and doesn’t try to be too real while feeling like Minecraft. Easy on the eyes. The items are instantly identifiable in inventory too. They always update new blocks right away and updated all the Creaking blocks the day after release

I just got done recording the "what to buy Wednesday" video, where i look at whats new in the marketplace and give my initial response based on thumbnail and description (started this series 3 weeks ago)...
Ill be honest, i purposely kept myself reserved when i saw it. I dont want to beat a horse by ranting every video AND i want to make sure i dont immediately accuse add ons and packs of being bad without seeing it... that being said, if i review it and its trash, i wont hold back!
I know this is completely off topic, and I understand the nature of Minecraft aesthetic. However I do wish there was a texture pack that was surrounded around the weapons and tools. I would enjoy seeing three dimensional items, while keeping most of the textures of everything else the same. The only other thing I want to accompany the three dimensional items, are a few animations. Spiders walking up the walls that we rarely see with texture packs that alters animations, and climbing. Once again, I am sorry for being so random. With that said, I love your videos.

I used to think pvp texture packs would be like this. But got a surprise there when I realised they dont do unique weapons.
I would love the idea of a mob that focuses on mob animations. A spider crawling up a wall properly sounds awesome! But i fear arachnophobia suffers would hate it
honestly in my opinion realism makes minecraft not minecraft :/ and some of them are scams!! some people don't have perfect contact to reach out with minecraft to :/

Do you know what I don't get the thumbnails show a what looks like a shader but when you get it it's a texture pack like bro come on people don't have to lie in the thumbnails so they get so many downloads

I think that instead of realism, we need to shift to authenticity. Instead of trying to make Minecraft realistic, it should be trying to bump up the quality to make something feel like a better Minecraft. The best example I can think of is the upcoming Actions & Stuff mod. It is not super realistic, but it feels like Minecraft if you added MC Dungeons animations to it, and that works so well!!

In essence, quality of life improvements that build on Minecraft and make the game feel a little more realistic whilst not promising the world for visual changes
A few years ago On ps4 I accidentally bought a pack because of lag, was checking out the packs and went to click on the pictures then it jumped to the top and bought the pack before i knew it. I was on controller and it didn't ask if I wanted to buy the pack it just purchased it because i had the tokens in my account. What I learned is to never have tokens in your account because you it might lag and you're not getting you're money back.
This has happened to me, i tried to expand the description section and got jumped up to the purchase button. Was so angry

I spend a lot of time avoiding garbage packs but I really enjoy realistic biomes and realism craft.

I don’t want “realism”, I want the same textures the game already has. All I really want is some immersion. Just a faint element of really distant things maybe being a little out of focus so I have a reason to use the spyglass, mild god rays some reflections and neat water effects, and MAYBE some particle effects. Now that I’m on more powerful hardware, my render distance is really far and I feel like there’s room for some mild improvements. But I would only want it to be mild. No texture changes aside from maybe water, and no instances of birds in the sky that you can’t interact with. Just some mild tweaks to the lighting and particle effects would satisfy me. There anything for me on there or does it all go overboard?
I cant think of anything that does what your asking for in a limited context. All i can think of is a bit more.
But maybe others can suggest something good?

@@DazMan I’ll have a peruse through your content and see if I like anything. But I’m guessing anything I’d like would be a Java mod and not something you can get on the marketplace. And it’s a shame because the effects I’m looking for would probably be subtle. Some weather effects could be cool… maybe like you have windy days and storms with more or less intensity. But for the most part I’m content with the actual textures that come with Minecraft. Hell, I’ve been away long enough that coming back to it and finding geodes and deepslate gold veins is new to me.
I think what essentially set in for me is that I had a memory of what Minecraft used to be and the fog wasn’t very far away when I used to play. Now that Minecraft has such an impressive render distance, it feels like the fog alone doesn’t quite cut it anymore, atmospherically speaking, while the water is actually too cloudy and only once you’re in it. Would be nice to get something subtle that makes me feel like I’m in a different place based on the biome I’m in and the weather, without imposing too much on what Minecraft is. I’ve seen some interesting implimentation of light and other effects in some mods, but they usually come with other stuff that I don’t want so much, like they make villagers look like Wallace and Gromit characters or they focus blur makes the world look like a Macro Camera looking at toys while the Godrays are screaming at me.
@GlaciusTS one thing i would say, the fog gets incredibly stronger when you reduce the render distance. Have you tried reducing it? (Even though, you shouldnt have to)
They should have an automated screenshot that doesn't come from the author to show the textures in a standardized way.

You have a point. I don't like any of the REALISTIC packs, that's just me. I can make an informed decision sometimes looking at what someone has there. Sometimes I wish we had the freedom of JAV with our MARKETPLACE

TrueRealism HD was the original texture pack that set off this trend. It, in my opinion, it is the best of all the high-rise texture packs on the marketplace itself. It has atmospheric fog and overall great everything. However, due to its immediate sales increase, many other packs became emulations of it. And here we are.

Whenever I see these packs in the store, I always feel so disappointed. Personally.
I am more hyped for Poggy's Luminous Dreams. It's probably the only pack I am gonna get, texture pack wise.
The packs that have dropped, aren't even shaders in my opinion; or anything close. The models they change, aren't needed really.
I just want like a vanilla minecraft texture, with fancy pretty lighting and glowy bits. Like the Super Ultra Mega Graphics was supposed to be, or Minecraft RTX.

@DazMan that is true. I will say that. But idk how much you keep up to date with minecraft but shaders are coming soon. Called the deferred rendering. Eckosoldier and wattles have covered this. And they just announced that it will come nintendo switch which is what I play on. Now if this is one of those where it gets scrapped or they stop working on performance and stuff. That would literally make so many people mad and upset. Including me I guess. Because it's in beta and preview rn and every other week or so people that can test out new features if they have the beta and preview version. And a lot of creators have been testing shaders in development for months now with new features getting added overtime. But just a few weeks ago they stopped making new features because they are pretty much done with the features and now they are working on performance for all platforms of bedrock. Beta and preview if u didn't know let's you test out new features, give feedback before it is even released to the public. But yea this time it will be very devastating if one day they announce that this type of shaders once again is just it for them meaning they aren't going to continue with it. This time it would be very depressing if they do this again. Cuz a lot of people were testing it, playing with it, messing with it on beta and preview. Which the last time shaders were coming and for sure before they canceled it, we didn't even have an option to test the shaders and stuff. Correct if I am wrong. But it would not be good if they cancel on this shaders as well. Well it's not because we are going to have positive mind, it is coming soon and we will playing with shaders that we always wanted. Sry for the rant or so many news lol. Otherwise love your content and can't wait for more
Realism craft and realistic biomes are the two best and most realistic addons/mashup packs. Those are the only two anyone should buy with the words realism/realistic in their names.

3:00 shrimple shaders with patrix 32x resource pack, complimentary: unbound, BSL or pretty much any paid rtx shaders for minecraft that can make it into some of the best graphics you can get in the games engine, also not mentioning the insane physics mods and npc designs.

Content creators seem to use shaders, but I feel they are unnecessary. If a resource/texture pack creator has made their water clear, then I am happy. Sun rays and shadows are extraneous to gameplay. Good job, Daz, on calling out the predators in the realism field. I have only added one resource/texture pack to one of my worlds-Lithos-which the creator still updates. I am very particular about textures, in that they must have some aspects of realism without being a faithful copy of real life, and animals should have close to real life colors and patterns. (Minecraft animals could easily have better models, particularly horses, and the Livestock Overhaul mod by DragN on CurseForge remedies ALL of those models-you can even herd cows with the horses!) (But the Star Worm Equestrian Mod-SWEM-is still the best mod for horse models and horse behaviors, and is being updated-but slowly, since the dev is in university.)

Tbh, there is only one texture pack i like and use regularly. "Better default." So many of the texture packs that have anything more than that crashes my game. (I play on xbox) its the same with the add-ons. Ive bought and tried so many and only use a few. Its like they know us console players are desperate for what we see on our favorite smps or single player worlds on youtube and then exploit it.

It would be nice if I could even use the add ons but I’m one of the unfortunate ones who get the “Not enough storage” message every… single… time.
Do you have a lot worlds saved? Go into settings and find "storage" or something similar from the menu.
U may need to delete some worlds.
When your on the screen to choose a world to play, is there a green bar at the bottom of the screen? Is it full?
Its not even just texture packs, the marketplace is INCREDIBLY over saturated with the same addons over and over again, all the same furniture, evolving mobs, combing weapons etc etc. There's almost never anything actually "new" each week

That texture pack makes some sense. I'll look into it again. Remember to get virtual Minecraft stuff at discount time, for example around Christmas.
I play on the switch, so I literally can't put on too many addons, or my game will crash. Texture packs are the last thing I'd waste my money on.

@ it seems that way, it’s been years and still same broken mess with texture packs not to mention half the developers don’t even update their texture packs anymore or the verification process takes months and your forced to use default cause of pal garden update etc.

I agree with your video . Most of the realism textures are trash . I owed bedrock mcpe since day one ( android), and I have most of the textures made by Minecraft and some by other devs. At the moment, I am using Afresh textures and animations. Looking into x4 and x8 textures. He is my example. Textures Better default 8 bit/ Super Retro / 4 bit craft . I gave up on marketplace realism stuff. These packs can handle my add ons .And the frame rate 👌. Old school here needs frame rate even tho my device is the RedMagic 9plus . Thank you for your video. The truth must be heard 🎉🎉🎉🎉

- Pictures not showing all or at least most blocks.
- Whether the 256x256 packs will work on consoles
- Can the pack be used in monetized videos
@jaywyse7150 ive never seen anything about a pack not being used in monetized videos?? Is that about copyright music?
@DazMan in my mind, I assume that like music at some point if you use a texture pack in videos, the owner can come along and copyright claim the videos. Imagine using a texture pack in 100s of videos just for your work being stolen or demonetized. Some of these packs don't have links to the creators of the pack with the terms of use. To be fair, it most likely wouldn't happen because if your channel becomes popular using their texture pack, they stand to gain as well from sale and exposure. But greed can get to people. I use a texture pack on my channel that I'm not completely sure about.

The realistic biomes pack is very close to a shader, the filter also looks awesome. Not only that, but the best news is that they are developing the pack and the latest update has some more shader like features. If you haven't got it, it is the #1 addon to have. Complete gamechanger.

@DazMan Thanks for all the videos, I must have watched 20 at least. Anyway use the "film" filter, go for a run through the dense forest with block pixel. Truth is, Im not looking for a shader pack anymore after seeing that. Quadral in the acacia village and the dense forest also looked very strong with the same filter Although I have different conclusions to your videos. I have to say this, but I recon your reviews are different to peoples opinions because you have seen the top / best texture packs and now the others seem less adequate. Thanks for all the uploads. Im not an expert, i just have opinions like everyone else :) i always say, the main point of the review and reveal videos is showing whats inside, not my opinions i share. If someone watched my videos on silent, id still be happy as they fulfill the purpose :)

@ oh boy, you don’t know? Some swedish dude is suing mojang because their vague and unfair EULA, The keep unilaterally changing it and they have hidden clauses. I highly recommend watching the swedish guy’s video to understand.

bought the packs that are “realistic” and just crash the game 9/10 games despite turning the settings down then being taken off the market place with no refund or anything. have done this a couple times.
