It depends on the writers, but that's mostly Jameson trying to make Spidey look bad. Generally he doesn't have such a bad reputation as the mutants.

@@mrheadcannon People are not aware of Peter Parker's story, for them he could easily be a mutant.
There's no difference between Tigra and Beast, Human Torch and Iceman or Magick and Doctor Strange in the eye of the public.
People hate X-men because they are a suprematist and isolationist club of karens who loves to remark to be different from the rest of humanity.
Avengers are heroes who try to integrate among common people, that's why mutants are beloved when they are in the ranks of avengers: Beast, Rogue, Wolverine, Storm, Scarlet, Quicksilver, even Namor have been seen and considered as true heroes by people when they behaved as that, stopping to act like X-men.

It’s just as ultron says: “you want to protect the world; but you don’t want it to change. How is humanity saved if it’s not allowed to evolve.” That in itself is the reason why I prefer the x-men to the avengers, they are fight for a better future for all of humanity both mutant and human alike whilst the avengers fight to keep the statue quo the same. Whether the avengers like it or not change is inevitable.

X-Men just feels more adult than the Avengers.
The main threat of prejudice against the mutants is their biggest issue, and to me, that prejudice is never shown in the Avengers. Everyone is just praised as a hero for doing stuff to save others in the Avengers, but in the X-Men, they are seen not as heroes, but villains. Even though they help humans (some of them) most humans don’t like them and fear them.

@@CanInThePan Because in the X-Men, mutants are seen as the next step in evolution, and the humans are afraid that evolution will leave them behind. The supers in the avengers, are NOT mutants. I’m pretty sure they classify as mutates instead.

I can sum it up simply. The X Men's core story was an analogy for bigotry. That's why the X Men as a story lasted for decades. It forced people to look at the ugly mirror of judging a group of people and tried to be fair to all perspectives. Example. You have Professor X with an idealistic philosophy, while Magneto shares some sentiments with Professor X, Magneto sees his "race" as a superior evolution. Then you have the human side that actually have a legit reason to fear mutants and have seen bad mutants do real world damage. What I loved about the X Men is exploring these ideas. The Avengers was never meant to be an analogy for a segment of society.

I’m an X-men fan for life. Love all comicbook creations but Xmen takes the cake for me. I just resonate with the themes, allegories, symbolism, concept, characters & stories more than say the Avengers, Justice League etc.
A traditional superhero or superhero team is sound but I like the idea of mutants who are not vigilantes, heroes or villains it’s more complex than that. Instead they are survivors. Their powers and capabilities are simply ingenious. Rather than a super-soldier, Demi-god, king or vigilante, their powers are genetically based.
The concept of mutation is lucrative because there’s so many possibilities as what type of superpower a character can posses. There’s no limits but there are levels. The logic behind mutant powers and the portrayal of said powers is rather fascinating to me. Telepaths, telekinetics, shapeshifters, reality warpers, speedsters, elementals, energy manipulators, psionic users etc. X-men storytelling is the paragon of fiction, fantasy and science rolled into one. The stories tend to be more dramatic, consequential, dark and gritty which I love.
There’s so much diversity in character too, from Storm to Deadpool, Beast to Iceman, Rogue to Emma Frost, Sinister to Cyclops, Wolverine to Xavier. You are spoiled for choice.

Me personally, i think its rather stupid people fear mutants.
I mean, literally, if mutants were real, i could've been standing right next to one and it wouldn't make a difference.
Plus, even when some characters arent mutants, they could present themselves as a mutant.
Juggernaut, deadpool, Spider-Man and even hulk can be classed this way.
Spider-Man and nightcrawler can both cling to surfaces
Juggernaut isnt a mutant but people often think he is. And its a common misconception.
Hulk may not have had powers from birth, but he is similar to beast, who is a mutant. They both have genius intellect, both have a skin color that isnt normal, and both have enhanced physical attributes.
Even tony stark and bastion can be similar since they both are intimately associated with tech.
Sometimes even enhanced physical attributes and senses are a mutant ability.
Wolverine is a mutant with enhanced senses, and daredevil is human with heightened senses at the cost of being blind. And not everyone fears daredevil. Some find him intimidating but he isnt a mutant.

To play devils advocate, in the real world you don't need lots of people to create massive amounts of death and destruction. Example, if you look up crime stats or terrorism stats, you will find that roughly 5% of the human population actually does criminal violence. That means 95% are good or at least non violent. Yet those 5% are the reason we have militaries, cops, prisons, and lots of mourning families. What I'm pointing out is the power of 1 person focused of harm and how that plays out in loss of life in the real world. I person can kill many people. They can inspire uprising and chaos. They can create nightmares in history. NOW I want to to imagine that one person now has Mutant powers that science can barely understand since its unique from person to person. In the wrong hands, that kind of person should be feared.

    • @colonelcider8292
      @colonelcider8292 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

If you were a mutant it would make a difference
Firstly it depends on what kind of mutant you are
You could be like Kitty Pryde, Professor X, Magneto, etc. If you don't use your abilities no one would know unless you tell them
But if you are like Cyclopes then just by opening your eyes, you are a terrorist. Destroying infrastructure and killing a great number of people.
You can get the really short end of the stick and be a mutant who can evaporate the people around you just by being in close proximity to others.
      Secondly, job security.
Mutants are better humans so they are better workers and so there is less of a need for you.
People hate AI and immigrants because of job security. Mutants are like immigrants on crack, they'll take your job and do it 10x better
Thirdly people would fear being the subject of bigotry
As stated Mutants are just better humans. If the Mutants draw the line between being one and not, giving out special benefits to Mutants and treating non-mutants badly. Is that not fearful to you? What if they decide that Mutant kind are the new Apex race and everything/everyone else are considered animals
There are plenty of things to fear about the Mutant population
Being a Mutant and not being one is a clear divide and it doesn't help that one species is far superior than the other
If Mutants existed in real life
It would be nothing like the comics cause there really is nothing humanity could do to stop radical mutants
and there would be no point in going to war with mutants as anyone with half a brain cell would understand the fact humanity would lose a all out battle. Might as well live with them and hope they don't abuse the powers they have. Just let humanity go extinct as the mutant population just takes over

The real reason the xmen are hated so much was bc it was wrote that way lol, the writers intentionally did that for a comparision to similar things in the real world. The problem is that doesnt work too well in the modern day, there is no way that most humans would fear mutants like that. They dont even know how the other superhero's got their powers anyways so irl they would probably think their mutants. Even if people were scared of them no one would allow people to get percecuted and mass murdered by sentinals both humans and mutants would stand up against that esp nowdays. Its not our fault the writers decided to make their world so extreme, like instead of peaceful protest you see mutants in movies raiding the white house demanding for equality... you see what i mean by they write their world is so extreme LOL, like thats not helping and irl i dont think anyone would do stuff like that. It honestly makes it hard to see how they live in the same world as the avengers. So instead of it being tame and like mutants begging for equality, which they would probably get irl in a more accepting society, they are wrote in extreme ways and hated in extreme ways which is supposed to be fueled by fear but comes off borderline racist. Which honestly makes it hard to read sometimes but i still love the xmen tho.

No one knows who spidey is so it makes no sense he’s not under constant suspicions of being a mutant even without JJJ. Some writers do that but for the most part the X-men are extremely out of place in the marvel universe as their stories and world feel so tremendously disconnected from the wider marvel universe most of the time. And that’s really i feel the bigger issue when people point out this hypocrisy. Because most marvel stories don’t involve mutants or their presence in the world.

But how would the average joe know? Alot of these superheroes hide their identity, and im sure they hide the way they got their powers to so no one can recreate it or have their personal information leaked. A lot of these heros and mutants try to cost the least casualties and damage has possible. But if someone family member dies because a fight between superhumans happens that they can't stop, i highly doubt that, that said person is going to be "it's ok its spiderman, he didn't mean to kill those hundreds of people including my son. It was the villain who threw him at those stone pillars causing the building to collapse. But those mutants though..."

The issue with mutants in the marvel universe is that they represent a dangerous weapon. People are afraid of them because of their destructive power. A single teenage mutant in high school could easily kill all of his classmates. Imagine if cyclops walked into a shopping mall and decided to just shoot everyone. Humans would have no chance. That's why there are examples of the mutant registration act. A single powerful mutant could serve as a weapon of mass destruction. even low level mutants like sabertooth have killed scores of humans for fun.

The X-men probably did have a couple good movies as they were milking Wolverine but it was old timey so people don’t really re-watch it unless they are a diehard fan of x-men

Nothing stopping Marvel from doing that but that is too good of an idea, so Marvel won't do it. I have said for years how an overloaded superhero world makes no sense in the long term. The world works in balance. You would think with so many God like heroes, you would have solved all of the worlds issues and many of which would prevent many of the reasons people become super villians in the first place.
