Hey, Dan, my boyfriend Joel Lane is the same way. When Joel and I video chat, he likes to take crayons and put them in the pot and melt them once they cool down, take his finger and dip his finger in the pot and until the melted crayon is on his finger, roll it around until it gets hard. Sounds weird, but true. Shirts, Joel is the same way. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
The Aspie World hi.. I have pergers and uh.. I use to cut and bite my hands.. Every time i feel a itch... I.. I wiggle.. And i get mad easy and i get weird when im happy... I act like a baby and talk like a baby when im comfy and relaxed and happy.. But i get scared when my sister is by me are my brother.. I know they love me but im scared itll make them look at me defrent
I was married to a man with Asperger syndrome for over 30 years. It was little difficult in the beginning, because I didn't understand his behavior sometimes. You know years ago people weren't diagnosed with it. After I realized what is the problem my life changed ( I think family needs to be educated in this matter) I really had a good marriage . He was sarcastic sometimes. I remember one time I said I think I have some Neanderthal in me ( when studying my genealogy) He said " I knew that for sure. I had fun watching how other people reacted to his sarcasm. It was funny sometimes and I was waiting to see people reaction and really I had fun .He always said what he thought, no mercy. We could talk for hours as we both were interested in similar things. Traveled South America together. I was never bored. He rarely give me complements, but when I worked he always prepared dinner for me and waited , even if it was 4am ( I'm a nurse ) . I really miss him ( he died from leukemia) and I wish we had more wonderful years together. Occasionally he had anxiety. He learned how to deal with it. Usually he took 50 mg of Benadryl and took a nap. No driving after he took that. I can say I had wonderful life with him
It can be so difficult and communication. Is everything!! Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
Bernadeta Baniukiewicz sounds like you want to label him with something he did not have.. Doctors miss the mark often trying to diagnose folk. Everybody's different not one of us are the same and that's beautiful... The powers that be want a monolithic world of people. Doctors learn nothing anymore all they do is take orders from the powers above them and pass the info and whatever meds the powers above them say give... Everything is straight BULL!! SHIT!!!
90% of my wardrobe is never worn, I wear the same few items constantly. But I must save the 90% as replacements in case my clothing wears out, which has literally happened more than once.
Well I don't have all 10 no, but change in routines yes, smells, noise, social anxiety, general anxiety disorder yes. repetitive clothing is a yes too! same outfits all the time. Only I don't talk fast at all.
I admire you for wanting to help people understand. My son is 22 and had aspergers. People at work would make fun of him and call him awkward when he was a teenager. He withdrew. Change is a big fear. He uses the headphones to listen to music and cancel out everything around him. He quit a job because his supervisor left and he couldn't cope with the change. I wish people could be more understanding. You rock!!
Wait, is this another Autistic thing? Because I often do this. I want someone to get to the point, and get frustrated when they whinge on and on when I've already understood what they're on about. I have learned not to be rude about it. People just talk to be heard for emotional satisfaction, rather than having some deeper point.

I feel like, as an adult with ASD, I have developed a sarcasm so advanced that when I try joking that way with other people they tend to look at me like I am crazy. Also, I tend to be either too serious or facetious in social situations to try to fit in. It’s hit or miss lol.
I have to explain to managers when I go in to a new workplace, that if I sound sarcastic, I'm not trying to (because I'm trying to sound neurotypical). However, if I DON'T sound sarcastic, I totally am.
Yep that's basically me all the way. I have a hard time slowing down and thinking before I speak or how what I say may affect someone. I am sarcastic yes, but when I feel bad like sick or in a bad mood it goes from slightly sarcastic to downright nasty! I usually try to avoid people, talking to them when I am having a so-called bad day!
My 31 years old daughter got her ASD aspergers/autisum diagnosis confirmed yesterday, we knew in our hearts but to have it confirmed was both reliveing but also closure to the way other people was treating her. She's hilariously funny, kind, and most of all my best friend, i wouldn't ever want a life without her xxxxxxxxxx
Most menus have sections such as "beef" or "chicken" etc. Choose a section beforehand and take the first acceptable choice in that section. So if you dont like unions and the first option has onions, that one is out. Going to fancy places I always let my husband choose :D
I actually always take chicken schnitzel ( I've never been to restaurant in my country where they wouldn't have it) but choosing the side is hell, I usually tell my brother or someone who is with me to choose it because I just can't decide
After 66 years on this planet I finally realise that I'm autistic. What a relief! I can be me and cut out some of the anxiety and guilt. Thank you so much :-)
63 and me too! At our age I find we stigmatize ourselves less as we age. We've experienced so much we've survived and realize some of our behaviors are just who we are and accept it and live🎉 This is why I only work with older adults. Once we get over the diagnosis we feel free!
I'm an educator and I work with a child that is obsessed with toilets. Like he can tell you the model and type of toilets at the school. It's hard to get him motivated with anything because he doesn't like anything else. He is autistic only eats pb&j for lunch daily. He is an amazingly child.
Sounds like my cousin! He's much younger than I but he's obsessed with airplane ✈, from a very early age. Very picky eater...chicken nuggets. Now he's at USC in psychology and 4.0 GPA
I think mine is somewhere in between monsters (Think Digimon for example) and foxes. I didn't even notice until someone jokingly said "blessed be your obsession with foxes". Then I realized I have been able to give really specific information about foxes despite never even being close to one. Then there's the fact that a lot of things about/around me are fox related.
My fiance and I are both Autistic. I'm 25, and he is 26. I completely understand where you are coming from. We both have ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome. It's absolutely wacky finding someone on the spectrum who does TH-cam. This is my first video of yours I'm watching 😊
Yes I cant stand it. I more than just dont like it.. I have never been diagnosed with this, but as a kid ADHD & OCD. Sometimes I dont mind being touched and other times I freak out.
My older brother has Asperger's and ADHD. I've lived with him my whole life and still live with him as my roommate. I love him more than I can explain. Checked out this vid to see if it was accurate (it is)
My grandson, when in kindergarten, refused to write a short story toward the end of the year. Tearfully, he reminded his teacher that on the 1st day, one of her rules was "Don't tell stories (lie)".
My husband has Aspergers. He eats anything so I’m lucky. We have an “old fashioned” marriage and I get emotional intimacy from my female friends so it’s easy to live and let live. He’s a good traditional husband and has a very successful career. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Notice she throws in he has a nice career as some backhanded compliment but when reality she’s almost makes it seem that’s why their together. I get emotional intimacy from my friends lmao. And you still got married, must be a nice career lmao
My ex is a probable Aspie, and he really had a keen sense of smell. If he smelled a fart, he could often tell who let it and what they ate. I once called him the "Fart Whisperer." Man, that pissed him off! 😆
I have not been formally diagnosed, but thanks to your channel AND... taking the test, I now understand why I have had so-so-so-so many struggles in life. 44.3 out of 100 on the scale. Meltdowns daily. Sciences facinations, intense interests, eye for detail, sensitivity to sounds and smells, etc., etc., and, of course, etc. And, as a girl, I exhibit many things that now make sense. I also have an Aspie dog! You have helped me tremendously. Thank you my friend.
21 year old son intellectual disabled and dyslexic and on spectrum. Life is a challenge for him but he lives it to the fullest. You seem so positive and lovey also. And your eyes are stunning
TOTALLY APPRECIATE your FAST TALKING!!! I often variate (fast/slow) depending on mood. Have you EVER tried NUTRITIONAL Add-On’s to your diet/lifestyle to improve your life experience? I have found great benefit from Omegas and its especially important to get a few different sources PLUS implement Omega-3’s BALANCED with Omega-6’s 1:1 and it works BEST balanced. Helps with overall brain function and for me helps with Anxiety. Adding vitamins including B6 known as P-5-P b6 plus also Methl-folate + Methl-b12?
I'm actually the opposite when it comes to the speed at which I talk. I talk pretty slowly. However, my language skills have proven to be far above average. Of course, that's only the case when I have plenty of time to think it over. It's kind of funny; I'm a great writer, but at what cost? I always overthink it when I'm commenting on something or replying to someone, and I almost never make any errors in my comments/messages, but it takes me a very long time to finally post the comment. When it comes to talking face to face, I'm extremely awkward. It takes me much longer to process what they're saying. I can't even correctly respond on time when someone says "hello" to me, and I usually just awkwardly smile until I figure out what to say. By that point, however, they've already moved on. Here's another gift/curse I have; when it comes to commenting/messaging, I tend to say more than I really need to. I'm sure other people would've just stuck with the first sentence in this comment, but, obviously, I added a lot more.
Ethan Cooke Thánk you!!! Thank you so much for sharing this. You’re not the only one, this is so relatable. *inside I’m bouncing up and down giddily wanting to grab and shake you and shout: “me too!” but that would be really awkward andinappropriate and I’d never approach you or anybody irl anyway so ehmmmm I’ll go hide in my room now - awkwardly shuffles away*
Ethan Cooke this is so damn relatable omg but i talk very fast and only sometimes very slow and yeah i cant even say hello to anybody lmao. One time a friend of mine said hello to me and i was completely overhelmed and i didnt know what to do. In the end i waved awkwardly and it looked like gollum waved at someone and it was just so embarrassing 😫 I told my mom and she was like „uhm are you dumb?“ because most of the time she doesnt understand how i think and everything 🙄
One of my friends has autism and I'm trying to learn about autism so I can understand him better. Now I think I'm somewhat on the spectrum. I wear the same outfits on most weeks. I hate bright lights and loud noises and very strong smells I can't stand. Whenever me and my family go out to eat I can the same thing every time. Also I like knowing the detail on every single thing. Also I tend to take things too literally. I'm very interested in Legos, DnD, harry potter, also space.
I hate loud noises as well, specifically motors such as blenders, big trucks and whatnot. Besides the very specific interests there also also authistic/artistic interests. Do you happen to have one? I think mine is programming but apparently I can also draw pretty well (I suck at coloring traditionally but that's another story).
I am a squeaky wheel, I enter the bar I ask them to turn the music down, I wear sunglasses inside, I express my needs and I've learned that I can just leave. It is not my job to endure. I do not have to pretend I am ok to make people comfortable.
My son was 20 before I figured out he was an Aspie. He had 7 Metallica shirts. One for Monday, etc. Never let me buy him new shoes. Seems impossible for him to see when someone is irritated. He is 35 now, so smart that he could work at NASA, but works in a warehouse because that was his first job. Total fear of change. He hates being touched. If someone gives him a gift and asks if he likes it, he will say NO. His obsession was the game Magic. he has tons of notebooks full of cards that he totally made up. He still plays.
My brother worked in a warehouse for 17 years, without a raise. The guy totally took advantage of him, and fired him because he refused to work for hours after work without pay. My brother completely fell apart. He had no idea what to do with himself, and went off the deep end. He still hasn't recovered.
And his mom go secretly on the internet to bad-mouth her son to the whole world. Well done. Well fucking done. Having an utero and the ability to born small humans don't make you special or better than anyone. In fact quite the opposite.
I am a player of Magic the Gathering as well and it has really helped me connect and better understand and communicate with people on the spectrum. I am glad that your son and I share a passion for the same game, and I hope that he feels welcome in his community like my community welcomes people of all kinds with open arms. And to you, I just want to let you know that there are people out there that want your son to feel welcome and accepted and understood, and I can tell that you love your son very much.
Constructive criticism. First I really enjoy your channel. But in the recent ones you are doing alot of "subscribe", "like", "click link below". Its all very distracting. My wife and I were trying to talk about this video after we watched it but forgot some points because we were so distracted by all the advertising you do for your channel. I suggest keep it to the beginning and end. You still get my thumbs up.
Hey! Thank you so much for the feedback!!! I have to compete on the platform to stay afloat so I have to use stuff like that to help my channel growth etc. Sorry if it was annoying.
I’ve been diagnosed with aspergers since 2004 and I’m almost 20 years old (DOB 9-7-1999) and your videos are helping me to embrace it. On top of that my girlfriend also has Aspergers and she understands me better than myself too. For a while before I met her and watched this video, I was bullied in High school and college for having this disability. Most of it was physical bullying (ass getting kicked) and mental. I even got kicked out from college for being autistic and it was during my finals so my gpa went from a 2.08 to a 1.3 and they won’t fix it. (In the process of suing them) thank you man for helping me and to even get more information about aspergers so I can help my girlfriend.
my family basically treats me like I am not autistic despite the fact that I am diagnosed with it. in a way thats "conform to our standards and do everything perfectly like an NT or suffer great consequences" its exhausting to be honest
My family does the same. My mom actually just outright denies it and my family routinely tears me down when i have harder days. It doesn’t help that I grew up mostly quiet and seemingly highly functional.
Be strong .......as your family age ......the dynamics will change .......you will become stronger........and for sure they will become quieter and less exhausting ......
Yeah. I have a similar situation. Whereas my mom is very aware of everything and is helpful when we're by ourselves. But ive been diagnosed for yeaaaars and my grandparents, father, and brother still dont know (only my mom and i live together) because she never told them. She just tells them that i have really bad anxiety (which is true but not the full story) and so people constantly tell me to just "get over things" or say im being dramatic when im really overwhelmed.
I just found your video today. I wish I had known about it sooner because I truly believe my 16 year old daughter is high functioning autistic. Every one of the signs you pointed out she exhibits. She is undergoing counseling and therapy now and after watching your video I finally understand what she is going through and I can talk to her therapist about what I can almost definitively see is autism. Thank you so much for making this video.
When raising my son he had not been diagnosed with Asperger's . As mother I did everything wrong . Your video's are teaching me alot . Thank you . When he was diagnosed myself and exhusband were told . The subject never came up again . Almost my entire family on both sides went into denial . It remains that way today .
Carolyn Lyford Sullivan Thank you for being so self-aware and open minded as to admit you did things wrong. I did too.. my twin boys are 3 yrs old. I’ve learned to forgive myself because a) It seems highly genetic in the sense that I myself have many of their ‘autistic’ traits, and b) It seems highly inherent/genetic in what my boys naturally choose to focus on. So only if I had known their tendencies in advance could I have really helped avoid the downsides (Remember they/I often, maybe even always, have/had special gifts/skills!)... Also I believe that it is never too late to improve unpleasant symptoms; I can see tons of learning or calming potential in the adults with developmental disabilities for whom I work. :) It just gets *harder* to break habits with age/time. If the habits are consistently replaced with more helpful or empowering ones, well, they can mostly disappear. I know this because of myself...
Ohhhh beautiful girl.. You touched my soul. When my 21 year old son was finally and fully diagnosed 5 years ago.. My entire family also went into Denil. Saying things like.. Oh he is just diffrent, slow, shy, he will catch up eventually. Well I also feel like I failed him. Why did I not know more. Why did I not push for more help in the earlier days. I think as mothers, we pray for things to come right for our child. You did the best with what info you had swertheart Be kind to yourself
just don't freak out if he doesn't want to be touched at times, or just wants to work on a project where you feel like his project Is more important than you. it isn't, but sometimes he needs to be working on his project ALONE. My marriage went to sh!t because neither of us knew what our problems were (my ex had something like the female version of tourettes, I found out as we went along and I was the ass burger).
When I read, I play with my hair (I used to, at least, not so much anymore). I also hate change in routine. I hate sauces on food, and outside of chicken, the smooth part, I hate. I don’t have any smell issues. I am horrible with noise. Loud people are infuriating and overwhelming. I make bracelets, but after a few months, I usually stop, and a year later it picks up again (so I’m probably slightly obsessed). I always wear jeans, and a sweatshirt. I have around ten different shirts. I understand sarcasm, and jokes sometimes. I have social anxiety, and people in groups of more than 6 are stressful. People tell me to slow down while talking. I mostly understand you, but it’s barely annoying. I take things WAY too literally.
I have gotten many shirts for birthdays and the like over the course of time, but I only ever wear about nine or ten of them (and most of those I bought for myself) As far as speaking quickly goes, I usually only have that problem when I'm speaking other languages. And the sounds. Just...no. I got a pair of noise canceling headphones and decided to try them out at a mall, and I finally understood why people liked being there. At 21 years old, I had my first ever decently positive experience at a shopping center. I also have a problem when there are too many things making sound at once, but that's a bit harder to find a solution for
I love it that you speak so fast!!! My brain goes so fast I cannot stand it when people talk slowly....it drives me insane. I have to skip some youtube videos for that reason. I can totally follow you. I also skim read stuff. Just have not got the attention span...Just give me the important stuff!! Great video! Oh and I also talk too fast :)
I've noticed children on the spectrum will run or walk on their tippie toes or the balls of their feet. Their heels rarely touch the floor or pavement. I drive a special needs bus.
I actually avoid it because when I was young the ball of my left foot was cut open and now that area is very sensitive, I walked on the edge of my foot for years
I like that you talk fast, I have autism and ADHD and I have to usually watch videos on 2x speed depending how fast people talk to understand them because my brain wont soak in the information otherwise! You do you
I was Diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 5 and am now going through two different referrals for both my children as they are ticking all the the boxes for Autism and it’s crazy the more I go through this the more I have notice that I tick more than both them together 😊 I love your videos as it helps all our family. Thank you. ⭐️

Super Nova Lmfao i can relate. Everyone says I’m either rude, sarcastic, and nonchalant. Especially when i make jokes. But when they make jokes , my brain is not cooperating with me.
I had to learn at a very young age how to turn a meltdown into a "shutdown" because it was made very clear by the actions of others that meltdowns would result in punishment. So I would take corner seats in every class I could just in case I couldn't deal with people at any given time. That almost worked, except for the fact that I stopped showing any emotion at all usually, and, as such, me showing my emotions has become a warning of sorts that I'm on the verge of a meltdown
I am 62 years old and have never been diagnosed with ASD. They diagnosed me as Bi Polar disorder. And I am Bi Polar and I have rocked back and forth all my life. I can't be in a room with florescent lights, the long ones. I have tinnitus, the ringing in the ears. I was diagnosed at 3 yrs. with HD, hyperactive. The Dr put me on Ritalin. Your list has me 9 out of 10. I knew some things about autism 30 yrs ago, I was working with some very severely autistic kids. When I first noticed I had the tics, like putting my thumb and second fingers together. Just had your videos on my recommendations, hearing from you, someone that actually lives day to day, with this is so much better than a clinical Dr. Thanks, you are awesome.
Yes! I don't know if someone is being sarcastic unless I know them relatively well. If a stranger is sarcastic I usually don't "get" it, and I'm the only person sitting there with a blank face looking confused. Also, at a new job there was this customer who'd come in "pretending" to be angry and upset right away. The first time he did it I almost started to cry I was so scared. It took me a while to get used to the 'act', I got upset for quite a few times.
It happen to me one time at a job I was wearing a yankee baseball cap and the boss says "Oh we don't like yankee fans here you're fire!" so I left the building n he called me to say "Hey I was joking".
@@manstreamer1053 that's hardcore. I feel it. It's why I was bad at team sports. I woukd literally leave practice if the coach or someone said something like that and they would panic cause I was a kid and they thought I went missing lol!
my kiddo does understand sarcasm though, but her dad and I are both extremely sarcastic, so she has gotten huge doses of it, and is good at dishing it out. She is also good at traveling, but we don't drive, so to visit family it always involved a subway/bus to NYC and then a bus/train to family. Now after doing this with us for 10 years I realized she was leading us through the Port Authority bus thermal to the right gate for the bus home. Which meant going to the basement level to cross from the south to the north building, then up to the 2nd floor.
My husband is 55 years old and was only diagnosed with Asperger's thee years ago and today is January 17, 2019 and I just happened on to this video!!! My husband can identify with you on most points. Thank you for sharing. My husband is super intelligent and spent a nice career working on C5 planes....he loves anything mechanical and has invented (never sold) several things and anything vehicle or guns he loves but he has a great need to "improve them". I personally am thankful he doesn't have the ADHD, lol. His vocabulary and such are very good and he is polite when he comes in contact with those who aren't.
Symptoms I had as a baby/toddler: -Doctors thought I was deaf and then told my parents I had selective hearing (after a few hearing tests where I ignored them) -I wouldn’t respond to my name if I was busy with something or distracted. -I had to have one dummy (pacifier) on each digit and one in my mouth or I wouldn’t sleep, I would cry and scream all night. -I would try to see how toys worked. -I wasn’t interested in other people and would be in my own world. -{toddler/child}- -I wouldn’t talk to people at nursery and I would play by myself instead -If my socks weren’t ‘perfect’ I would just scream and cry ((I deal with this now by wearing my socks inside out)). -I used to talk about dogs ALL THE TIME. I had books about them, would always ask about them and stroke all the ones I saw. -It was as a child I started pinching my lip a lot, I do it especially when I’m nervous (I still do it now). -Also for as long as I can remember I have HATED any type of sauce or anything that smells bad. -{in general now}- -I’m obsessed with ladybirds and dogs (I talk about them a lot and people tell me to stop) -I repeat myself a lot -I’m very intelligent and am great academically -I’m terrible at small talk -I would rather be alone than with a stranger -I always cut labels out my clothes -I get excruciating migraines when it’s too bright/ too loud and have sunglasses to stop that -I can usually see lights flickering and when I point it out people say they can’t see it -I don’t get sarcasm or jokes at all -I struggle with eye contact. -My parents, two best friends with ASD, their parents, and my other friend (who hasn’t got ASD but is dyslexic and has dyscalculia) all think I have autism. My mum says she wants to wait until I’m older for a diagnosis because she doesn’t want me to have a label..
I am told now I have selective hearing. It's not funny but peculiar how I can be paying attention to the best of my knowledge to someone talking to me and then when I reply or repeat what they said, they actually didn't say what I thought I heard, said something totally different, or I completely missed a large section of what was said either at the beginning or end as if it wasn't there at all in the first place. It's scary that this happens.
Is it a symptom to, before calling someone days in advance, practise what you are going to say over and over again and to pick a specific time in order to call them?
Completely! I do have extreme phone anxiety, which has to do with my autism too. I usually even write out what I'm going to say, at least at the beginning of the conversation and I write down the time I'm going to call in my agenda.
The Aspie World I also do it. I assumed it was a part of my "shyness/anxiety." I always asked myself why I had an extremely hard time with things other shy people eventually had ease with. These videos just intrigue me more about my struggles in the past and present. I have a question. Do you have trouble with driving? I absolutely hate it despite knowing what to do. I end up getting extreme anxiety and headaches and seizure-like episodes with mood swings and I'll sometimes get anxiety enough to tge point of crying. Is this a symptom, or a result of anxiety, which I was diagnosed with?
PsychedelicManic Incarnations I have to script, but still dread having to talk on the phone. It's harder to pick up on cues and have a reciprocal, meaningful/productive conversation. I prefer using my natural asynchronous communication style if it's ok with the other person.
I tend to ruminate over useless topics. For instance, I know a lot about old tube television sets. I used to be obsessed with this model of television set, the Toshiba MD13Q4. It had stereo AV RCA inputs and an orange coaxial jack. I used to spot one every time we went out. They were made from 2000 to 2007, in the United States that is. My problem was, I went to a smelly pet shop and there was a TV like the one I just mentioned. The smell became permanently ingrained into my memory of that type of TV set. When I saw one, it used to gross me out.
My son has Aspergers and ADHD and he’s the same. I’m also the same, although I ‘only’ have ADHD! I tend to adjust the playback speed to 1.25 or 1.5 on TH-cam to suit me! 🙈
thank you so much for sharing these 11 Asperger/Autism Symptoms. I have a grandson who is diagnosed with it and I recognize many of the same symptoms that he displays. He is quite a charmer, which by the way, I recognized that same charm in you! You are delightful and I do appreciate your willingness to step out of your comfort zone to help others who are or related to someone with Asperger/Autism.
I have Aspergers and I agree with alot of with what this guy is saying. I have sensory noise issues with diesel exhaust pipes from big trucks,The Revving of engines from Motorcycles,And the sound of tires on wet pavement. I also have sensory issues where I can not stand the sense of water from a shower coming down and wetting my hair. The same with the rain water. My obsessive topic of interest is video gaming,Ufo's River's and current's and the way they flow. I have a very particular kind of clothing I like like soft pant's like work out pants or slack's. I don't talk to fast my problem is I talk to loudly and people sometimes mistake that for aggression
I'm doing a degree right now in Religion, philosophy and ethics. You know...just for fun. I'm really into the esoteric, occult and demonology subjects. I'm learning those from a Bishop which is cool but thought a degree to round things out would be cool. I absoloutely LOVE to learn, study, research. It's like an addiction. And boy can you direct that hyper focus. Although I'd never actually recommend it I actually stayed up a full 52 hours straight once, studying, taking breaks only for meals or to the bathroom. And yes I was exhausted afterwards. I did get 2 weeks ahead at uni though.
I don’t have Aspergers but I can totally relate to feeling extreme irritation from sound and noises. I really prefer silence. Also I can become obsessive about areas of interest to the point where I drive other people crazy.
I am 40 years old in March and I am pretty sure I was misdiagnosed as a child. I was suspected as autistic but after an IQ test the psychiatrist labeled me profoundly gifted and I was placed in special ed and speech therapy. I pretty much relate to everything here so much, and I even think my husband may have it too. Explains why we get along.
Repetitive clothing!!! I almost cried...my oldest wears the same type of pants and shirts constantly. Makes dressing him easier and harder at the same time. He outgrew his favorite kind of pants but thankfully we found another style in adult sizing in time 🙌🏻Thank you for these videos, I’m understanding his mind so much easier ❤️
It's so eye opening, rewatching Autism, Aspergers ADHD, videos, theirs always something that speaks to you more the second time or more where you so can identify with routines, and those with condition thankyou bro
With the food sensory issue my worst enemy is fat, like in meat, or oil. My worst sensory issue is noise though. Smells can bother me mostly because of my nausea but noise is the worst sensory issue to deal with
the worst thing for me is travelling i cant travel on a packed train travelling on a train is bad enough but when its packed i just cant do it iv been known to wait an extra 3 hours on the platform just for a train thats quiet enough for me , that said i once got trapped on a train with a lot of loud shouty football fans chanting and singing causing havoc and i ended up having a meltdown its even worse if im not used to the route im travelling or im travelling somewhere i havent been before
People should make explicit instructions for us to understand to avoid ambiguity in completing tasks. If a person would ask or assign someone, they must explain themselves very clearly in the same way as a person follow a cookbook in a step-by-step process of making food.
I am on the spectrum and I tend to talk fast. However, I'm from Newfoundland and we regularly talk fast, so fast that we combine words together and leave out syllables. This is noticeable around the bay (Newfoundland talk for "rural areas"). A local comedian (can't remember who) made a joke about this: "I'm not talking too fast, your brain is too slow."
My son just turned seven and he’s diagnosed aspergers and executive functioning/reasoning disorder,he also has add/adhd that ties into it all and his meltdowns can be mild into epic and most of the time can be cut off at the pass and be redirected,I just wish that everyone could understand how this affects him and some stuff he just can’t control,it’s so hard because if/when he has a meltdown in public people are cruel and severely misjudge him and the situation
Hey, your son sounds like a hero!! Yeah people can be so nasty / un supportive because they do not understand. Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
Got an adult autism diagnosis last week aged 49. It explains so much, especially loud noises, light and heat sensitivity and not maintain relationships.
I appreciate watching these videos, because I try to understand my dad. A lot of the things you mention are what my dad does. My dad does like to keep a routine, he always asks when we’ll have dinner or what time we will be back if we go out, etc. If his food gets to cold, he will reheat it. He has very very sensitive hearing, but his sense of smell isn’t that great....could people with Aspergers not have sensitive smells? He can get very obsessive in topics of history, he is a walking encyclopedia! He tends to wear the same thing on a daily basis or the same colors-he likes Blue tops. He has a good and different sense of humor. Sometimes people don’t get it. He has extreme social anxiety- I have seen him have panic attacks. And if he has coffee, he talks too fast, and is uppity. Thanks for sharing this!
I often forget to use a certain tone when I make jokes ,so most people think I'm either just dumb or fucked up lol, I just use comedy as coping mechanism, unfortunately it's often misunderstood even by those closest to me =/ , life of someone on the spectrum, I decided to finally join a support group and am going for first time tomorrow, maybe I'll finally find likeminded person /people who understand me, wish me luck ,good people of the internet !
Anytime I'm slightly anxious, I'm rocking back and forth or moving all the time. Some noises will make me snap and I will yell at people if they're making the sound. I've had moments of sensory overload. And i cant talk in groups. Small talk is horrible and i couldn't do it. Jokes usually fly over my head and sometimes i get sarcasm but i need to ask. I just always felt off i guess. At my old job, I used to talk soooooo fast
Undiagnosed in my mid 40s but I feel so many familiar behaviors. I still hear in a loving way “you are such a kid”. I actually embrace the comment and let myself have more fun with it.
I am so happy to find that my brother is not alone ! Everything you have said describes my brother to the “T” ... which basically means out of the 11 signs you described my brother has them all ! He also has ADHD and OCD and has anxiety disorder .... he also stutters but that doesn’t stop him from talking fast ! He also doesn’t like to be touched or make eye contact and speaks in a monotone voice. I mean most people who don’t know at first think he’s super weird but My brother is my world and he is the most coolest, caring just soft natured , good hearted guy who but he will not hesitate to help you out whenever you need him. He doesn’t take any meds for his ADD or OCD because it may trigger his “ticks” even more.. do you have any opinions that subject ? if regarding taking meds for you add can actually trigger something else for people with autism?
Yay I’m so happy I have helped!! Thank you for the kind words! Ooh I have an ebook about terming traits into superpowers if you want it for free go here www.theaspieworld.com/ebook Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
I can’t believe I found this video. I am on the spectrum and didn’t know videos like this exist. I share most of the symptoms you pointed out. I’m high functioning and live on my own, but have my problems. When you mentioned airports or crowded places, it made me nervous just thinking about it. I also have the obsession part and my girlfriend laughs at me (in a playful way) about the fact that I remember all kinds of random (to her) stuff like which seats we sat in at a restaurant over a year before. I was diagnosed as an adult (I’m older and you were just considered awkward when I was a kid). I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos.
This was so informative thank you 🙂 my 5 yr old has been diagnosed with severe autism, but my almost 13 year old has never been diagnosed with anything but at the moment he’s going through the stages of maybe being diagnosed with aspergers, and watching this video was JUST like listening to my eldest son 😊
As a girl with aspergers, I experience all of these, though I understand most jokes because I grew up in a extremely sarcastic and jokey family! Also, pokemon is definitely best! Great video :)
I’m 42 and only realised a few years ago that I have ASD ADHD or both. My 5kids all have been diagnosed and that made me think oh wow I do that and I feel like this. Everything you have said is spot on.
And as a person who is self diagnosed Asperger syndrome, I am SO glad that you and others like you do these type of videos!!! It is great that people like yourself try to make these conditions more known and more visible and understood.
I commented before about subscribing to help my daughter but I'm learning that I also have a lot of symptoms. I'm a highly functioning adult BUT I do struggle with things like (my mom calls me a "homing pidgeon") I thrive in routines; they give me security and comfort. I miss social cues all the time (I just don't get it), I also have multiple outfits of multiple of the same shirts, pants, etc. I am extremely over-sensitive to any food with gritty/sandy texture (meltdown), bitter, or if a food that should be hot is cold, I can't. I have to get rid of it. I walk on my toes (don't know if that's an aspie thing or not 😉) I carry a packet of industrial earplugs in my pocket to help with hypersensitivity to sound. I need to get a cotton filter mask like they wear in Japan to help with hypersensitivity to scents/smells/perfumes etc. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you.
1- Stimming. This is something I do. In my case I tend to stim the most when I'm trying to think and concentrate, though I do stim other times as well. 2- Change in routine is mix for me. Some change I'm okay with, other change I'm not. 3- Sensory with foods, this actually explains alot. If the food is meant to be hot I have to heat it up. I don't really care for bread so I'll rarely eat it (certain types I will or if I want a sandwhich which is rare). However cake is still confusing. I don't like cake (not sure why), but I like cupcakes (yes I know they're the same thing, I just can;t explain it). 4- Sensory with smells.Anything that is strong and overpowering I hate, and will try to avoid, especially if its something that I will know make me so I will cough and be unable to breathe (mainly smoke and strong perfumes in this case). 5- Sensory with noise. I hate alot of noise, but at the same time I can't have silence either, my brain won't allow it. So if I go somewhere I will usually be listening to music, and at night I have to have music or a fan running. 6- Obsession with subjects. Trains, emergency vehicle (just watching them go by) and music (listening and studying the history) are my biggest obsessions. 7- Repetitive clothing. Not quite sure about this one. For the most part I'm able to wear anything as long as; jeans have to be loose fitting in the legs, shirts have to be short sleeved, if they are long sleeved then the shirt has to be a button up and the sleeves have to be loose. The material of the clothing has to feel right, if it don;t feel right then it's not happening. 8- Sarcasm and jokes. It depends, on the tone of the person. If they don't have a hint of joking in their voice, I won't know rather they are being serious or not. 9- Social anxiety. I have selective mutism so I always try to avoid talking to people if possible. This is one of the reasons I have to wear headphones in public at times. 10- Talking to fast. I do this on a daily, but then again my mind is racing and my mouth is trying to keep up, so words don't come out completly (I have difficulty finishing words at time, this was worse as a child.) As far as I know I'm not on the spectrum (I do have a relative who is). I do have selective mutism and adhd though.
I can see how many of these things create problems but to me they are just the things that make you human. I mean you should be able to take people as they are and not expecting everybody to conform to whatever is the norm right? Some people get seasick, others just dont ...
OMG I was diagnosed with ADHD, but now I am wondering about if I am on the asperger spectrum as well. I love it that you talk fast. To me, you talk with a rythm. Thanks for your videos.
I appreciate you posting this video. Most of these traits describe my daughter, though our doctors have not diagnosed anything. She suffers from severe social anxiety. For instance, she did not want to join a Zoom call with her softball team until I got her to put on a mask, then she was fine. To see her with her friends you would never know this as she gets goofy and is a complete cut up. However, in many social settings, she withdraws and won't vocalize. Yet, she has her own TH-cam channel where she makes funny videos. She writes and records rap songs, but she would never perform them in public.
My favorite coat died last year. I still haven’t recovered, I’ve bought five coats that all have issues. I’ll always buy two coats whenever I find my permanent replacement again. That coat was the best coat, perfect tan color, hooded zip up pea coat. It was from target about six years ago, it a,so had snap buttons, if anyone has one I’ll buy it.
Shoes are a hard one for me next time I find tge oerfect paur I will buy 5 cos they stopped making my old brand and ive been limping around in pain sinse
When I was in kindergarten the teacher told me to cut it out I got went to the closet and got my supply box and got my scissors out I got paddle too. It was 81
This is SO accurate. I am speaking as a person that lives with an Aspie! I cannot spray deodorant until he has finished his breakfast, I must not speak before or during a meal, radio or tv has to be switched off when he comes home.
My employer asked me if I had a learning disability like Audtistic or had Aspergers after I was hired, I was shocked, the job did not work out, people would say Im slow, when all I was doing is processing the information presented to me. I could not take the negative critismn so I walked off the job in HVAC, hence I was fired, but being cursed at I can't handle that what so ever.
Oh man that is horrible!! Some people can be just nasty. Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
I know how that is. I worked for a company that hired people with all types of disabilities and when I told the human resource department that I couldn't work with a certain manager because he lies about people all the time and I didn't want to loose my job because of him. They told me that that wouldn't happen and then one month later they fired me saying that I had cussed at my manager and I don't cuss. Even the places that are supposed to help this community don't listen to the employees who voice a concern. And another job fired me because I asked please don't cuss at me when you talk to me, I don't like cussing. The work place is so discriminating to people on the spectrum. Even the laws of the state that I live in protect the employers and they can get away with firing someone without any explanation. I don't think that that is right.
Also, as far as the not getting sarcasm, I once walked someone's dogs in the rain because they, jokingly, said to walk them anyway, when I pointed out it had started raining and they felt bad about it when I came back soaking wet (they were distracted and didn't see me go outside).
It rly annoys me when people are like “oh I don’t think u have Asperger syndrome. My nephew has Aspergers and you are nothing like him”. I haven’t been diagnosed but I have sooooooo many symptoms. I have most of the symptoms that u explain. It is different in everyone. Everyone has different symptoms so it’s rly annoying when people say I definitely don’t have it when they aren’t even a doctor and they don’t even know that it’s different for everyone
Kiz Bathurst I’m dealing with the exact same thing right now trying to convince my family members... every time I try to explain what I’m dealing with they always talk over me or say things like “people with Aspergers don’t look like you” or “so and so has it and you don’t act like them”. It’s extremely frustrating and it’s even harder since I grew up rather isolated and never really opened up about what I was dealing with to any of my family members until now so they just think I’m overthinking or making things up. I have all of the issues and symptoms brought up in this video but they just won’t listen to me. I’m planning on getting a proper diagnosis soon but it’s especially difficult when you’re an adult and no one else believes what you’re telling them.
Hi Kiz Bathurst. I know exactly what you mean. However, you are probably aware that Asperger's symptoms can present very differently in females. We had a battle with people understanding our little girl, even though she was diagnosed last autumn aged 9. Professor Tony Attwood is a world leader is Aspergers in females. Watch some of his video's on youtube. He's amazing X
Even if you had all of the symptoms, please don't say "I HAVE Asperger's", say "I probably have.." or "it's likely that I have..", self-diagnosing is often not a good thing, especially with something as complex as aspergers. Maybe it's something else entirely. Until you get diagnosed from a professional, you shouldn't say that.
How can you figure out you are being overstimulated if you got a late diagnosis and are not used to it yet. Self identification that you are getting overstimulated. Like what symptoms come up that are like heeeeey you might be pushing yourself too far? Where as in the past you were taught to act right and push through. How do you know when to stop yourself now at a healthy time? Instead of stressing. (Oh man said the same thing 3 times) And how do you recover from meltdowns or overstimulation. Like how do YOU? I’ll extrapolate for myself.
AshleOfAllTrades Overstimulation causes different symptoms for everybody. For a lot of people it starts with irritation. Feeling irritated or annoyed about anything when a while before you weren’t bothered (that much) about it. Can be sounds, smells, people wanting to talk, anything really. Feeling like you just want to get out, get away since it’s just tóó much. (the first thing I usually notice when I get overstimulated slowly is that my clothing is suddenly bothering me: shoes being too tight, an itchy label, things like that that I then suddenly am highly aware of is a sign I need to get out) I’ve never recommended a book to anybody so this is a first: I have the book Self-regulation and Mindfulness by Gibbs and it has some great exercises to learn how to recognize being overstimulated. It’s written specifically for us on the spectrum and I found it to be way more helpful than I thought it would be, the writer réally listened to the people they worked with and it clearly shows in how it’s written. Not vague, but simple, clear and most importantly: effective. The mindfulness techniques weren’t really working for me but it díd teach me to recognize overstimulation nearly instantly. @Dan: great vid again, so very relatable, feels good to know I’m not alone, thank you.
AshleOfAllTrades a constant journey of self discovery if you find yourself becoming overly anxious it’s a sign that your overwhelmed. Some days you will last longer and other days it will happen very quickly and you just feel you have to disconnect from everyone and go to your safe place for relief
Just came across your video's and thank you! My son is just like you and he was diagnosed at 27 with ASD ADHD and OCD, he's 31 now and we as a family understood him much better since, everything fell into place finally. It was so difficult for him and us up to that point, now it's easier and even better for me now I've found your videos. THANK YOU!

Hey Melissa, Joel sounds awesome! You are more than welcome for the video, thank you so much for the comment and thank you for the kind words!!!
Dan, he is an awesome and amazing boyfriend. I love him so much.
I hate the smell of soap and i hate whispers and yelling...
@Bernadeta ... how cute your story 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
SHIT!!!

Yup that's me, but I'm so old when I was diagnosed they just called it autism....my parents were thrilled (kidding)
Thank you. It's so difficult to listen to the pitch and there are too many words😐
Well I don't have all 10 no, but change in routines yes, smells, noise, social anxiety, general anxiety disorder yes. repetitive clothing is a yes too! same outfits all the time. Only I don't talk fast at all.
Thank you.
You rock!!

I prefer that he speaks quickly. I did notice it، but I usually watch TH-cam at 1.5 speed and was able to turn that off for this video.
Oh hey!! That’s awesome! Also your hair is awesome! Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
That's So true I always speed it up because people speak so slow
I speak way more quickly. No need to worry.
Wait, is this another Autistic thing? Because I often do this. I want someone to get to the point, and get frustrated when they whinge on and on when I've already understood what they're on about. I have learned not to be rude about it. People just talk to be heard for emotional satisfaction, rather than having some deeper point.
I also do this ALL the time. At least 1.5 x speed for pretty much any video. For a second I thought I had it on for this video but I didn't lol
12) Love of metal detecting 13) very analytical vs your peers. 14) light sensitivity 15) audio/visual learning > reading 16) sleep disorders 17) like being outside by yourself 18) prefer to work with your hands

I think this would be a great follow up video!
Likes being outside by yourself when sun is not there **
I'm on the spectrum and I'm actually way better learning by reading than listening.
I feel like, as an adult with ASD, I have developed a sarcasm so advanced that when I try joking that way with other people they tend to look at me like I am crazy. Also, I tend to be either too serious or facetious in social situations to try to fit in. It’s hit or miss lol.
Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
Yessss dude same here
Same :)
My dude, I've never been officially diagnosed, however you literally described me to a T. Thank you mate, have a great day
My 31 years old daughter got her ASD aspergers/autisum diagnosis confirmed yesterday, we knew in our hearts but to have it confirmed was both reliveing but also closure to the way other people was treating her. She's hilariously funny, kind, and most of all my best friend, i wouldn't ever want a life without her xxxxxxxxxx
Deciding what I want to eat off a large menu is HELL.
My 8yr old can never tell me what he wants to eat 😂
I always get one of 3 things. If they don't have it it makes things really difficult.
Most menus have sections such as "beef" or "chicken" etc. Choose a section beforehand and take the first acceptable choice in that section. So if you dont like unions and the first option has onions, that one is out.
Going to fancy places I always let my husband choose :D
Choose the same thing... Chicken Parmigiana and chips is a winner 👍
He sounds amazing!! Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
That is amazing!

Wicker O'Seer Yup, sounds like it’s a thing☺️
Oh interesting.
Wicker O'Seer that’s what I do lmao. Top tip, don’t start using Quora or Reddit as you will lose many hours lmao.
Ethan Cooke this is so damn relatable omg but i talk very fast and only sometimes very slow and yeah i cant even say hello to anybody lmao.
One time a friend of mine said hello to me and i was completely overhelmed and i didnt know what to do. In the end i waved awkwardly and it looked like gollum waved at someone and it was just so embarrassing 😫
I told my mom and she was like „uhm are you dumb?“ because most of the time she doesnt understand how i think and everything 🙄
My sensory issues are really bad. I hate seeming like I'm just being a jerk when I have a mini meltdown. I wish I could explain myself.
Ah!
I am a squeaky wheel, I enter the bar I ask them to turn the music down, I wear sunglasses inside, I express my needs and I've learned that I can just leave. It is not my job to endure. I do not have to pretend I am ok to make people comfortable.
Same
You're not alone, Danny. I have mini meltdowns all the time
@@HalValla01 you can try observing yourself in the meltdown rather than reacting on it
My son was 20 before I figured out he was an Aspie. He still plays.
jenni whittle that sounds exactly like me.
Working in a warehouse because that was my first job

Hope you have a great 22nd birthday next month!
And I hope the case went well.... 😥
Hi, I´m Carolina and aspie. I´m from Brasil and I stay really glad for to have finded this channel!! I´m feel represented. Thank you!!
my family basically treats me like I am not autistic despite the fact that I am diagnosed with it. in a way thats "conform to our standards and do everything perfectly like an NT or suffer great consequences" its exhausting to be honest
God bless you
just stay busy with projects and screw them
I just found your video today.
You are more than welcome!! Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).

My marriage went to sh!t because neither of us knew what our problems were (my ex had something like the female version of tourettes, I found out as we went along and I was the ass burger).
Thank you for taking the time. You are a great companion
Wow, you’re great
I’m glad you talk fast. If someone is speaking too slowly on their videos, or taking too long in the intro it reeeaaally peeves me off 😅
Yay!! Haha fast talking for the win!!
I have gotten many shirts for birthdays and the like over the course of time, but I only ever wear about nine or ten of them (and most of those I bought for myself)
As far as speaking quickly goes, I usually only have that problem when I'm speaking other languages.
I have a problem with slow talkers too. On TH-cam set the audio speed at 1.25 when that happens.
when he apologized for being fast i thought to my self what?! he's not fast.
i set the speed actually to 1.5 or 1.75
there is a difference between fast and too fast . just sayin...
I speed up the audio too - slow talkers make me so impatient!
I've noticed children on the spectrum will run or walk on their tippie toes or the balls of their feet. Their heels rarely touch the floor or pavement.
I drive a special needs bus.
This is a true physical trait of people on spectrum.
Oh Dang I didn't know that's a related trait of mine
Yup. Almost 30 and I still do it
I do this - kids used to make fun of me so much. I'm cool with it now though- I tell people I'm a secret old faerie princess.
You do you
I'd love to learn more about the unique circimstances/symptoms that arise from a comorbidity of autism and ADHD.
You are so wonderful. Thanks for helping me to understand my son and his struggle. Please keep doing these videos. Bless you always.
I was Diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 5 and am now going through two different referrals for both my children as they are ticking all the the boxes for Autism and it’s crazy the more I go through this the more I have notice that I tick more than both them together 😊 I love your videos as it helps all our family. Thank you. ⭐️
I'm having sensory issues with ads playing in the middle of your sentences 🤣

I have autism and I’m usually the sarcastic and joking one😂
And trust me, I had my fair share of meltdowns in high school due to anxiety, not fun😑
Haha. I can relate
I joke, but then people joke back, and I don't get their jokes. Very fun (see what I just did there?).
I have ADHD and you are a rare person who talks fast enough for me not to get distracted in five seconds! ))
Feel yeah sister
It happen to me one time at a job I was wearing a yankee baseball cap and the boss says "Oh we don't like yankee fans here you're fire!" so I left the building n he called me to say "Hey I was joking".
@@manstreamer1053 that's hardcore. I feel it. It's why I was bad at team sports. I woukd literally leave practice if the coach or someone said something like that and they would panic cause I was a kid and they thought I went missing lol!
Why would they pretend to be upset?
my kiddo does understand sarcasm though, but her dad and I are both extremely sarcastic, so she has gotten huge doses of it, and is good at dishing it out.

I'm not annoyed by your situation at all... You are Awesome! My hubby has a lot of these symptoms... God Bless you!
✌🏼
Symptoms I had as a baby/toddler:
-Doctors thought I was deaf and then told my parents I had selective hearing (after a few hearing tests where I ignored them)
-I wouldn’t respond to my name if I was busy with something or distracted.
-I had to have one dummy (pacifier) on each digit and one in my mouth or I wouldn’t sleep, I would cry and scream all night.
-I would try to see how toys worked.
-I wasn’t interested in other people and would be in my own world.
-{toddler/child}-
-I wouldn’t talk to people at nursery and I would play by myself instead
-If my socks weren’t ‘perfect’ I would just scream and cry ((I deal with this now by wearing my socks inside out)).
-{in general now}-
-I’m obsessed with ladybirds and dogs (I talk about them a lot and people tell me to stop)
-I repeat myself a lot
-I’m very intelligent and am great academically
-I’m terrible at small talk
-I would rather be alone than with a stranger
-I always cut labels out my clothes
-I get excruciating migraines when it’s too bright/ too loud and have sunglasses to stop that
-I can usually see lights flickering and when I point it out people say they can’t see it
-I don’t get sarcasm or jokes at all
-I struggle with eye contact.
PsychedelicManic Incarnations I tend to do that because I suck at conversation. Lol.
Completely! I do have extreme phone anxiety, which has to do with my autism too. I usually even write out what I'm going to say, at least at the beginning of the conversation and I write down the time I'm going to call in my agenda.
YES, I do this.
I talk at the same speed 😊 I think we talk at a good speed and everyone else talks too slow 😂
Heck yes dude!!! Whoop! Make sure you are subscribed and have the notifications turned on :).
My son has Aspergers and ADHD and he’s the same. I’m also the same, although I ‘only’ have ADHD! I tend to adjust the playback speed to 1.25 or 1.5 on TH-cam to suit me! 🙈

Thank you, thank you, thank you for publicly advocating for yourself! You are a great model for my 11-year-old son who has Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia.

Hey well done on the diagnosis!!!

@@TheAspieWorld I have subbed and cheers for the e book
Hi!! You are more than welcome! Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
As a girl with aspergers, I experience all of these, though I understand most jokes because I grew up in a extremely sarcastic and jokey family!
Also, pokemon is definitely best!
Great video :)
Hey thank you for the kind words and thank you for the comment!!!
Wut ur fave pokemon
I agree 😋🌈
I’m 42 and only realised a few years ago that I have ASD ADHD or both. My 5kids all have been diagnosed and that made me think oh wow I do that and I feel like this. Everything you have said is spot on.
And as a person who is self diagnosed Asperger syndrome, I am SO glad that you and others like you do these type of videos!!! It is great that people like yourself try to make these conditions more known and more visible and understood.
✌🏼
The Aspie World: silly boy. :)
Thank you.
I think the videos you do are simply awesome. Helping people understand Aspergers and us getting to know you is the best.
I do this on a daily, but then again my mind is racing and my mouth is trying to keep up, so words don't come out completly (I have difficulty finishing words at time, this was worse as a child.)
As far as I know I'm not on the spectrum (I do have a relative who is).

It was 81
Ah yes!!

This is funny
SERIOUSLY, THANK-YOU! You have no idea how much you just helped me w/ my son.
They think it makes you slow for some reason
Even if you had all of the symptoms, please don't say "I HAVE Asperger's", say "I probably have.." or "it's likely that I have..", self-diagnosing is often not a good thing, especially with something as complex as aspergers. Maybe it's something else entirely. Until you get diagnosed from a professional, you shouldn't say that.
It’s soooooooo annoying when a random person suddenly becomes a psychologist autism expert when you say you have the condition... 😐
(the first thing I usually notice when I get overstimulated slowly is that my clothing is suddenly bothering me: shoes being too tight, an itchy label, things like that that I then suddenly am highly aware of is a sign I need to get out)
I’ve never recommended a book to anybody so this is a first: I have the book Self-regulation and Mindfulness by Gibbs and it has some great exercises to learn how to recognize being overstimulated.
Cali Mero Sooo true!
That’s a difficult question I usually have my partner help me identify when things are going bad.
THANK YOU!
