More 8Y Audi RS3 Handling Improvements! Rear Sway Bar End Links Did This!

- 👋 We are continuing the handling improvements on our 2024 Audi RS3! This car has some weird handling characteristics but I've been slowly upgrading the feeling. Today I install ECS Tuning rear adjustable sway bar end links. The stock ones are made of plastic and are fixed, so these metal adjustable links are going to be a much better way to go. Since I've lowered the suspension about an inch on the RS3 the adjustable end links allow for a better bit and more optimal sway bar angle. I also recently installed the adjustable front end links and that really helps make the steering feel a bit more tight. The rear end links also seemed to help dial in the rear feeling. I think the RS3 feels much more solid going around sharp turns and has a more planted feeling. The Audi RS3 is a fun and super fast sport sedan and now with more suspension upgrades, the handling is starting to get where I want it!

Nice little upgrade! Anything to get rid of the slight Audi understeer is always good. I wish I had a garage like you, I have to park my GT-R and 370Z on the road as I live in a flat on a busy high street.👍
Yeah these help a lot! Idk if I could handle a GTR outside. I’d be a bit nervous lol
You need a garage if you have a GTR! Seems like you need to get that sorted out!!😂
@@speeddemonRS3
Of course it's nice to have but saying you have to own a garage to own a GT-R is overkill.
Here in the UK we have smaller houses and flats compared to the US and not all come with garages. I'm just glad I live in a decent central part of London and manage to own a 370Z and GT-R.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed
Luckily I live in a decent part of London so no one's really messed with it (touch wood!). Would just be nice to try some of the maintenance and mods you do. Always impressed with the mods and maintenance you do to your cars on your channel, some would think you work in a garage 👍
@@exoticplayer7960 Yeah I don’t have any professional experience. But just lots of my own hobby I guess working on cars. Where we live our cars just get dirty being outside. After one day the morning dew and dust leave water spots and dirt on the car 😅
But I have an out door cover for my Supra that works well.
GTR is a great car to try out!
Hi mate, i've watched most of your RS3 videos (and a lot of your other vids too). I own an 8Y RS3 and know exactly what you're talking about. If you have not had it done yet, check your wheel alignment. From factory mine was way off at the rear which was causing the car to feel very nervous. In particular rear toe. I had almost none on one corner, then over a degree on the other side.
Getting the alignment, along with the lowering springs and spacers has made the car feel far more sorted.
Good point! I have been meaning to do an alignment since I did the lowering springs. That might be the motivation I need to get that done! I bet that will further improve the handling
Hello! 8Y owner here as well. Do you mind sharing your alignment specs?
@@tilerf308 There's not a whole lot you can do. Camber from what I understand cannot be adjusted. Toe can be though. My rear toe was Left 0.3, Right 1.2. After alignment it is Left 1.1, Right 1.1.
My car felt really uneasy on uneven surfaces, and when pushing the car. I thought it was the rear diff. Turns out it was mostly just the Toe on the rear. I also had people comment that my car looked like it was crab walking. Well, turns out it was..
Went to ecs tuning website and rear end links available only lists Verkline brand, not ECS. Are they any good?
Click the link in the description. Thats the link to these
Thank you!
Yep, it says the ones in the link doesn't fit but I guess they do because he put them on
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Same concern , ECS states they do not fit , wonder why that is , quite the diff between $69 and $239 for Verkline
@@vwgtir3298 maybe they don’t have it updated? But these definitely are direct replacement. Can always contact ECS and verify the ones in my video are the same ones
Any ACS composite mods going on?
I haven’t looked into that currently
I would be a little concerned about compromising what Audi set out to do with the handling of the car! It seems like you prefer it so far!
Honestly the factory hardware on cars isn't always the best it could be. Regardless of their fantastic engineering. They are still going to make parts cost effective to produce and install. Aftermarket parts improve upon the factory design and provided they are quality parts, they will be better performing then stock
I have a 2.0 quattro its a 60/40 split
Oh nice
Do you still have the GTR?
Sold that last summer to buy my Lamborghini. But in a few years I plan to add a GTR back to the garage when I have more space
U like it better than Supra now??
I still prefer the Supra. I just like the 2 seat cars best and the handling is incredibly nimble. But I love the refinements and speed in the RS3. It's like a baby GTR. But it still handles pretty good and is a blast. So just preference
INB4 all the "Why I hate ECS" comments...
Huh? Great product
@BrosFOURRSpeed there's a large portion of the VAG community that absolutely despises ECS Tuning, to the point that there's a Facebook group named after it. I never had issues with them when I had my S3 though.
@@bholm369 Why? They have a ton of OEM parts too which makes it a good source for parts. And plenty of quality parts. Weird
@@bholm369 ECS spacers were junk. My car had a violent shake after install. Thankfully, ECS let me return them.
I like your car, but having the blue strip inside the door looks cheap. Audi needs to do something with that .
What blue strip? This has carbon fiber on the dash and then some silver accents on the doors
@@BrosFOURRSpeed in your video you can see the blue paint colour inside by the seat belt mechanism.
Pause your video at 6:05 and you’ll see what I’m referring. Too. 👍🏻
Gotcha. That's just how they paint cars. Lots of vehicles you will see the exterior color on parts like that. However you could always vinyl wrap it black to blend it in. You don't notice it all in person tho since you are never looking in that direction
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I know what your saying but when your paying all that money for a premium saloon like yours, I just expect more from Audi
