Great video for 991.1 owners. Helps us determine whether to hold onto the cars. They are the last naturally aspirated Carreras. Super helpful and overall seems that they are generally well built cars. Thank you for making this information available.

I am in Austin, TX and my door panels look horrible (separated at the top and has lifted) - where are you located and how can we get my door panels fixed by your team?

Glad I saw this have a COV fail as I can no longer engage/disengage PSE - I can manually open & close so is there an updated part and part number?
    Thanks and great vid 🤙🏽

Hi, great video! just wondering does the .1 C2 GTS engines has the bore score issues? I remember 997.1 engines suffers from it and some 991.1s but not sure if the C2 GTS has the same issue

Yes the M96/M97 could experience bore scoring issues, but at times this issue is overblown..

Couple other things missing here. The DFI engine is prone to build up on the intake valves and ports. Oil laden vapors get passed the AOS and into the intake which leads to significant build up over time. @HBI Auto, I've created an oil catch can kit (look for Dead End Motorsports) that should fit and would be willing to work with you on test fitting this on 991.1 Already have a kit available for 981 and I've had one customer who drained 50ml of oil from the catch can system after 5000 miles. The other issue that is seldom discussed is that the cam gear bolts can back out or sheer - particularly on manual transmission cars. In general these cars are great, but they are by no means "bulletproof" as some people claim.

Just had my COV failure fixed in my 2014 C4S, that I bought last week. It was CPO so no cost to me.

That is a factory door panel, extended leather with deviated stitching. It's the "poverty interior" in plain vinyl that warps.

Do these models also suffer from intermediate shaft issues?

Great question, no these do not have a bearing that fails in them. That is isolated to the 1997-2008 range Boxster, Cayman, and 911. This excludes GT cars and Turbo engines.
