If any form of ganon they're 100% my main. But I have a question for you, what do you think the DLC will be like? Are you holding out for anyone special to be added?
I'm going with 'Big Boi' being Kohga, but not the Kohga we see at the time of breath of the wild. The Kohga we see in the trailer is simply an ancestor of current Kohga, and so is 'Big Boi'. We do have proof that Current-Kohga's ancestors were ALSO leaders of the Yiga Clan, judging by the phrase "technique passed down from my fathers' mother's father".
This is my take, too. I think Age of Calamity’s Kohga is an ancestor (likely a grandfather or maybe even a great-grandfather, given the time involved) of BotW’s Kohga. It’s hard to tell BotW Kohga’s age, but I’ll bet it’s not over 100. As to “big boy’s”identity, I think (the current) Kohga’s son and heir is a likely bet. It’s pretty clear he’s second-in-command.
As Kohga's words implies, the technique belongs to the leader of the Yiga clan (otherwise we would probably see other Yiga use it). That means, assuming that BIG BOI is BotW Kohga's father, that AoC's Kogha is BIG BOI's father (to make sense of the technique passing down from Kohga to Kohga), in other word BotW's Kohga would have got his technique from his father's father('s mother/father), which is absolutely debunked by his own words. Big Boi HAS to be BotW's Kohga! (if he's not just a random big dude, in which case AoC's Kohga is BotW's one and only, OR his grandfather which is more likely imo)
I think the best/most fun theory is that “big boy” is a sort of Master Kohga in training. It would make sense as to why there’s so many similarities in regard to the armor and why he’s always at Master Kohga’s side. I forgot to add this before but this would also mean that “big boy” is breath of the wild’s master kohga
@Fluffynator Oh yeah that’s a good point as well. The only argument I could really present for that would be that after 100 years, it’s probably pretty easy to forget someone but that still wouldn’t explain the age. It’s definitely not the most sound theory but I think it’s cool :)
@@haikarawalker6996 This is also possible! In that case I’d love to see what happened to him that he’s no longer in Breath of the Wild! Some sort of betrayal??? Or some epic battle death by Link?! I like this idea too!!!
Remember the 8th heroine, I think it's the woman from the new Hyrule Warriors trailer (maybe the fortune teller.) After all, she is a Gerudo (with gold yes) and in-game, it said that the 8th heroine is still worshiped by the people in the Gerudo highlands (the yiga) and we see the Yiga soldiers worshiping the woman at the end of the trailer. This might also explain why the statue of the 8th heroine is near the area where the Yiga are located near.

I think that blade master is a second in command after Kohga. He seems very close with Kohga cause of that scene where Kohga looks depressed and the hooded figure seems to be comforting him. Also, if he’s alive, then he could be the new leader of the Yiga Clan in BOTW 2. We probably didn’t see him cause maybe he hid away.
Mysterious hooded figure: That blonde hair and the way the braid hung down in front of their face like that had brief images of a twisted version of the original Impa come to mind. Mysterious Blademaster: Due to the way he has similar clothes to Khoga's, but less elaborate, suggests he is a younger brother.
1:50, that’s actually not their hair, Sheika have white hair and since they are from the Sheika race they would also have white hair. Fur tufts helmets have often historically been used to show rank in armies, so I assume that was the inspiration.
I think "Look what you did" refers to Urbosa and the others leaving Gerudo Town barely defended with only the standard guards still being present there
I think that Sooga is Post calamity kohga, and when kohga was pushed down the time hole by Link in BOTW, he traveled back in time to pre calamity. His hatred of Link pushed him to train until he was undeafetable, hence forth why he was a STRONG BOI. And he was so protective of Pre Calamity kohga, because if his younger self died, he would cease to exist. Hope that made sense! :) Edit: God I play too much video games
That was what I was gonna say. Maybe Master Kohga is just what the leader of the Yiga is called, the swordsman is BotW Kohga, and the trailer Kohga is the previous

I definitely agree with him being younger kohga but I think that older kogha is just the current master kogha's father/predecessor like how impa as a child is identical to her daughter
Why all the banan, you ask? Banan: portable, delicious, perfect, nutritious energy source for one who has to teleport and ambush travellers in the name of our lordt Calamity Ganon.
The time travel theory would actually be really interesting and is possible ! In botw Kogha talks about "that link guy" meaning he never interacted with link directly before, and yet there's the line "look what you did" meaning that he fought link a 100 years ago Also, since the egg traveled back in time, it would make so that both link and ganon have time travelers on their side, which would be really cool

These Nintendo "shadow drop" reveal trailers have been working for Nintendo. Whether it be Zelda, Mario, or anything else. At this point, people are going to "stalk" Nintendo's TH-cam channel, Twitter, and other resources, just to see what they have up their sleeve.
Dorian isn't even that old, and we would've been given a hint/indication that he had met Link in the past if this was the case. But there's no dot to connect there. It's not him. I feel people are jumping to this conclusion way too easily just because "Oh but Dorian said he was with the Yiga clan earlier!" but that doesn't mean he's lived for 100 years. Compared to Impa and Robbie he's clearly younger. If it's Dorian, it's gonna be a cheap copout. It's the same with the hooded person; the idea that it's a brand new character goes lost ebcause people want it to be a returning character and it's stupid.
One thing, 0:46 Link and the "Mysterious Yiga Blademaster" are fighting somewhere in-between the now Gatehouse Town and the now ruined Outpost, since you can see the great plateau wall behind them.
I watched this because I hunger for more Sooga content. Even from like a month before the game’s release, you’re still right. I feel like our favorite “Big Boy” is being very slept on and overlooked right now. He’s so interesting and mysterious.... I just wanna know more about him!! #SoogaRespect
I’m thinking we’re going to end up killing the commander in this game, which would give a reason why Kohga hates Link so much other than being an enemy to Ganon
The time travel theory is probably my favorite, due to how rediculous it feels, yet works in the Zelda Mythos due to time shift stones and all (and we don’t see Kohga outside of the pit either, so he might be confined to it due to a time shift stone only being there)
What if the buff yiga officer is dorian from kakairiko village bc he used to be in the yiga clan b4 he left and they killed his wife as punishment because he left maybe because he was a high rank that upset kohga because I don't think kohga would care about a basic footsoldier betraying him
Dorian isn't that old. Also, they would likely care regardless of rank since their clan is tightly bonded and he was their agent working as Impa's bodyguard, thus a valuable asset of information. They would go for him regardless. Again, Dorian is nowhere near old enough to have been around 100 years ago, or else he would be looking like Impa or Robbie.
I have sort of a dumb theory (and I realize that a lot of y'all know who big boy is at this point since the game's been out for a few days, but I have yet to get my hands on it, and I'm trying to avoid spoilers) but with how the mask looks, it reminded me of the horned statue, so they could be linked in some way. Probably not, it's probably a coincidence (Or I could be entirely wrong, I'm only going off of memory), but I'm still gonna be proud of myself for connecting those two useless links.
@@stonestudios1727 don't credit me for this though, some commenter on the original trailer brought this joke up and it's caught on everyone like wildfire. :D
No, the look what you did thing was because they broke into the hideout, and “Big boy” is Sooga, the right hand of the inverted eye. The reason the y outfits are somewhat similar is because Kohga trusts him the most.
I first thought that he is young Master Kohga from BotW, but then I thought he would be too old. So maybe he would be like BotW's Kohga's father or grandfather. But then I thought that maybe he really is that Kohga and he is something like 130 years old a little bit senile, and that is why Link's fights against him was easy and weird. :)
The time traveling Master Kohga is by far the most exciting theory out there and it will definitely raise the significance of Age of Calamity and maybe retcon some aspects of BotW to better pave the way for the upcoming sequel. The other theories appear to be more pausible but for me it is very hard to believe that the Commander Blademaster could became so idiotic and inept after a 100 years. The whole Yiga clan looked like it was a far more formidable threat before and that we just got the remnants of what they once were.
@@strife6792 Ganon won for a short moment but Zelda managed to partially seal Ganon so at the end it was more of a stalemate and when you wake up as Link is when things finally start breaking down again after a 100 years.
I actually think this new blade master could be the ex-Yiga guy who guards Impa's home in Kakariko village in Breath of the Wild. It's a bit of a stretch since they look so different, but it would be cool to see his story for leaving the Yiga clan. Also, I think the black things on the Yiga's hoods are just tassels connected to their hoods not hair. Since the Yiga are all Sheikah, they should have gray hair like the Sheikah do.
If he is future master Kohga, how he doesn’t remember Link in BOTW, since they apparently fight against each other. I like that time travel theory but idk if it’s true.
I think that this Kohga is the same kohga in botw, but when we see him in aoc he's just become leader so he is very young. Since the Yiga are also sheika (who can live a lot longer than hylians) it would explain how kohga is still around. My theory is this new Yiga is Kohga's brother.
I saw someone mention his lineage and ‘his father’s mother’s father’, and MAYBE this Kohga has a daughter who Big Boi could be betrothed to? And then they have a little boi who has BotW Kohga eventually 🙃🤷🏻♀️😂
Oh no. Every time I see Master Koga in the game or some assassin that comes to kill me and says for Master Koga I'm gonna think: B I G B O I 😆 Awesome video, MaskedNintendoBandit!

I think the Yiga is Dorian Because in botw he said the Yigas killed his wife because he left the clan and his body is the same so its gotta be Dorian and also he wouldn’t back away from link if he was bad.
Hmm, maybe he is Dorian? I can't imagine how any one defecting from the Yiga could survive unless they were incredibly skilled. Dorian's body structure is also similar.
Yes to "Big Boy" - Yes to the shoutout - Yes to all your theories. Istg only you would come up with something so ridiculous as the timetravel one and then you just made it make sense. Daaamn. The longer I think about it the more I like it. God job!! (As always)
Theory on why the banana addiction in on of the memories zelda talks about how the frog has potential to make link more powerful and she said since link is fit he would be a great test subject so maybe since the effects of the might bananas the yiga clan are now addicted to the strength boost it gives you
I think that it's more plausible that big boy is in fact young khoga that appears in botw, but that after the defeat of the former khoga that appears in age of calamity he wears his same clothes and uses his name as a sign of respect and remembrance regarding the past leader.
finally someone is talking about him instead of either ignoring his existence or just never noticed he was there in the first place thinking it was just a random blamaster mob, i love you
Ngl the "whats with the bananas," thing got me thinking. You cant get bananas anywhere near their base is, besides Gerudo Town, which they technically can get into (since they took two artifacts from the Gerudo) but it would be unlikely they get all of their stock from the town. Bc why would they continue to sell bananas if they know the Yiga will just sneak in and steal all of them? But the bananas ARE mostly found in the Faron region, where the old barbarian tribe was located. Maybe the Yiga clan had something to do with the downfall of the tribe, found the bananas and became obsessed with them? Idk, just a thought Edit: Oh, and since we've pretty much all agreed that the Ganon we saw in the Botw 2 trailer is the Twilight Princess Ganon, it'd kinda make sense for the hooded lady to be someone from the Twilight Realm. Maybe one of Midna's descendants?
i appreciate MNB for being the most entertaining zelda youtube theorist currently out there. remember back when ALL of them used to come up with the most ridiculous and unfounded theories ever and post them proudly, still managing to intrigue us no matter how unlikely the ideas were? nowadays everyone else is actually being logical and telling us stuff that we can already believe easily, while he’s still out here making crazy claims like ‘kohga didn’t die he fell into a time portal actually’. it’s definitely way more interesting to think about. never change. god bless.

Perfect guess but what scene are you talking about? Can you timestamp it
@@minaashido518 the scene when him and the blade master (Sooga) are discussing something and not depressed actually
That line should've been *"Purah looks OLDER and taller."
Because well. She's "8" when we see her originally.

Hello.

Have you played the game, because I don’t want to spoil but he is just the second in command
I would say old master Kohga isn’t actually our Kohga, he’s the previous master of the Yiga clan. Like your second theory
That was what I was gonna say. Maybe Master Kohga is just what the leader of the Yiga is called, the swordsman is BotW Kohga, and the trailer Kohga is the previous

It wouldn't be the first time they reuse already existing models anyway, so it's possible.

I definitely agree with him being younger kohga but I think that older kogha is just the current master kogha's father/predecessor like how impa as a child is identical to her daughter
Yeah. I think that’s the most likely explanation.
Why all the banan, you ask?
Banan: portable, delicious, perfect, nutritious energy source for one who has to teleport and ambush travellers in the name of our lordt Calamity Ganon.
I bet the reason why the foot soldiers and so skinny is because bananas have no protein or fat

The time travel theory would actually be really interesting and is possible !
In botw Kogha talks about "that link guy" meaning he never interacted with link directly before, and yet there's the line "look what you did" meaning that he fought link a 100 years ago
Also, since the egg traveled back in time, it would make so that both link and ganon have time travelers on their side, which would be really cool
Thank you! This guy needs way more attention. Its mostly been focused on the mysterious robed figure.
you are one of the most underrated Zelda Theorists out there.
not only do you have a smooooth voice, but i find your videos soo easy to watch. you deserve everything good coming to ya mate
I keep coming back to this video because sooga is my favourite
These Nintendo "shadow drop" reveal trailers have been working for Nintendo. Whether it be Zelda, Mario, or anything else. At this point, people are going to "stalk" Nintendo's TH-cam channel, Twitter, and other resources, just to see what they have up their sleeve.
My theory is that he's Dorian - the guy Link meets that left the Yiga clan.
^^^^^
THIIIIIIIIIIS
same
Dorian isn't even that old, and we would've been given a hint/indication that he had met Link in the past if this was the case.
And then we realized that he is actually master kohga's right hand man blademaster sooga
Ah ok I haven’t checked out AoC yet but glad to get a confirmation of the character
One thing, 0:46 Link and the "Mysterious Yiga Blademaster" are fighting somewhere in-between the now Gatehouse Town and the now ruined Outpost, since you can see the great plateau wall behind them.
Fun fact, it has been revealed, kohga was like, come to my clan hungry,u now my child
Possibility 4: Master Kohga’s son got killed by link, so he says: “LOOK WHAT YOU DID.”
he said it like link did a mistake that helps kohga in some way
The Yiga do a lot of intense work outs and need all the potassium
I watched this because I hunger for more Sooga content. Even from like a month before the game’s release, you’re still right. I feel like our favorite “Big Boy” is being very slept on and overlooked right now. He’s so interesting and mysterious.... I just wanna know more about him!! #SoogaRespect
watching this after the release makes it so much better xD big boi sooga
I think the second theory is more likely, but I have to admit - time traveler Kogha would be pretty funny
Sooga is wearing outfits like master kohga because he's his best yiga member who made him bodyguard
I’m thinking we’re going to end up killing the commander in this game, which would give a reason why Kohga hates Link so much other than being an enemy to Ganon
Well dark link certainly killed him. (Well offscreen so he could’ve survived if kogha survived but that’s unlikely)
@@giantenemycrab1192actually the blight ganons did the most damage
The time travel theory is probably my favorite, due to how rediculous it feels, yet works in the Zelda Mythos due to time shift stones and all (and we don’t see Kohga outside of the pit either, so he might be confined to it due to a time shift stone only being there)
Maybe the pit was so deep, that when Kohga fell in it he so fast he was warped back in time.
What if the buff yiga officer is dorian from kakairiko village bc he used to be in the yiga clan b4 he left and they killed his wife as punishment because he left maybe because he was a high rank that upset kohga because I don't think kohga would care about a basic footsoldier betraying him
Thats exactly what i was thinking
I was thinking the exact same thing!!!!

He's probably their chosen one. Or just a general
Me watching knowing all the lore because the game came out knowing that who he is nobody expected
What if big boi is master kohga from breath of the wild. And he just let himself go over the years
No, the look what you did thing was because they broke into the hideout, and “Big boy” is Sooga, the right hand of the inverted eye. The reason the y outfits are somewhat similar is because Kohga trusts him the most.
The Yiga Blademaster must wear Pull-Ups 'cuz he's a big boy
BTW at 1:16 that is the blade master's costume you can tell by the stick coming out of the bottom half his costume
While I think at the very most big boy is Dorian, and otherwise he’s kinda just a boss battle, the time travel theory would be amazing.
All I have to say, is that if egg boi can time travel into the past, who is to say Kohga couldn't...
Yigas, which are rogue sheikahs, im pretty sure live quite long, which is why impa, purah and robbie are still alive
Maybe he could be a member of the Garo who had found his way to hyrule somehow. This would explain his agility and abillity to wield two swords.
After the calamity only hurule was destroyed the yiga worshipped ganon so they were fine they were not weakened its probably botw kohga

Big Boi is the new official name
"What's with all the bananas?"
Duh, they love potassium
I think the big boi is Dorian
How could it be? Dorian looks too young to be 100, you saw how Impa looked.
My initial interpretation of the trailer was that this new Yiga guy was the old Kohga, glad to see someone else talking about it
If he is future master Kohga, how he doesn’t remember Link in BOTW, since they apparently fight against each other.
I personally think Big boi is actually the Kohga’s childhood friend who he’s attached to!
It's so weird seeing this after knowing who Sooga actually is XDXDXD
same lmao
Already loving #1 theory!
And we know the Zelda team does not shy away from time travel (and Quantum Mechanics it seems).
I saw someone mention his lineage and ‘his father’s mother’s father’, and MAYBE this Kohga has a daughter who Big Boi could be betrothed to? And then they have a little boi who has BotW Kohga eventually 🙃🤷🏻♀️😂

I think the Yiga is Dorian Because in botw he said the Yigas killed his wife because he left the clan and his body is the same so its gotta be Dorian and also he wouldn’t back away from link if he was bad.
I respect your opinion but I think Dorian wouldn’t be born yet. Also i know his name but i won’t spoil it:)
Hmm, maybe he is Dorian? I can't imagine how any one defecting from the Yiga could survive unless they were incredibly skilled. Dorian's body structure is also similar.
That's... Actually highly likely. I haven't seen anybody talk about that. Good job
Yes to "Big Boy" - Yes to the shoutout - Yes to all your theories. Istg only you would come up with something so ridiculous as the timetravel one and then you just made it make sense. Daaamn. The longer I think about it the more I like it. God job!! (As always)
Now that the game is 2 years old, i want you to go back to Sooga and try and see who he is
He’s a great character
So I think your first theory where they're both koga because big boys name is soga
Theory on why the banana addiction in on of the memories zelda talks about how the frog has potential to make link more powerful and she said since link is fit he would be a great test subject so maybe since the effects of the might bananas the yiga clan are now addicted to the strength boost it gives you
I think that it's more plausible that big boy is in fact young khoga that appears in botw, but that after the defeat of the former khoga that appears in age of calamity he wears his same clothes and uses his name as a sign of respect and remembrance regarding the past leader.
finally someone is talking about him instead of either ignoring his existence or just never noticed he was there in the first place thinking it was just a random blamaster mob, i love you
Yknow I kinda forgot that the yiga would have the same technology. Prob bc of all the murder
It turns out Big Boi was actually Best Boi all along
I feel like sooga is khoga from the future because of the crack on his mask
Ngl the "whats with the bananas," thing got me thinking. You cant get bananas anywhere near their base is, besides Gerudo Town, which they technically can get into (since they took two artifacts from the Gerudo) but it would be unlikely they get all of their stock from the town. Bc why would they continue to sell bananas if they know the Yiga will just sneak in and steal all of them? But the bananas ARE mostly found in the Faron region, where the old barbarian tribe was located. Maybe the Yiga clan had something to do with the downfall of the tribe, found the bananas and became obsessed with them? Idk, just a thought
Edit: Oh, and since we've pretty much all agreed that the Ganon we saw in the Botw 2 trailer is the Twilight Princess Ganon, it'd kinda make sense for the hooded lady to be someone from the Twilight Realm. Maybe one of Midna's descendants?
i appreciate MNB for being the most entertaining zelda youtube theorist currently out there. remember back when ALL of them used to come up with the most ridiculous and unfounded theories ever and post them proudly, still managing to intrigue us no matter how unlikely the ideas were? nowadays everyone else is actually being logical and telling us stuff that we can already believe easily, while he’s still out here making crazy claims like ‘kohga didn’t die he fell into a time portal actually’. it’s definitely way more interesting to think about. never change. god bless.
