You may have to adjust your settings for PSP because everything plays at full speed on my Powkiddy X18S. Also I'm going to send some more Emails. Hopefully they'll listen but we'll see.
All I want to know is this. Is there a way to remap the L1 and R1 switching it with L2 and R2? If so, that would solve the problem of us complaining about the inline triggers and constantly requesting stacked triggers on your handhelds. I would be more inclined towards purchasing this RG505. Could you please give us a demonstration or visual tutorial on how to switch the triggers? To be totally honest, I think ANBERNIC should have the main triggers set as the outer ones instead of the inner ones from the start.
Looks like a great system. Can you tell us if you had any issues with the analog sticks? Another video I watched showed that the analog stick worked more like a D-Pad instead of an analog stick (they couldn't get to the corners correctly).
@@ErdricksArmor Retro Game Corps. He did the analog test thing and it didn't go to the corners correctly with his analog sticks. I'm trying to see if this is a one off issue or all of them.
Would be great if you could swap out the analogue stick and d pad positions on the fly, kinda like a joycon to suit the game you were playing. I waiting for that innovation.
I wish Anbernic would make a clamshell palmtop computer with integrated keyboard and gaming controls at this sort of price point. That would be awesome.
good review and good points on the criticism. I'm waiting for the upgrade to the RGB10 MAX 2 from Powkiddy...that White one is the best looking device. If it was just more powerful I'd love to buy it. I still want it though :)
Have you tried to play Mario Kart 7 using the Citra emulator? I have tried but there is so much stuttering and frame rate drops. Do you have a way to fix that problem on the rg505? Thanks
You know I'm looking at this and I don't know if you can provide Anbernic feedback but what would set this apart is if they made the left side removable like a joy-con and provided 4 different layouts. This one for people that don't care and can be the default. But for enthusiasts they could provide a pack with 3 layouts. One digital, one analog, and one with the Neo Geo style clicky stick. There honestly wouldn't be anything like it. This system looks incredible BTW, they've come a long way with their devices!
Could’ve been so much better… I have 3 Anbernic devices and they’re great but 3 simple changes and this is a very good handheld (IMO). 1. Stacked shoulder buttons. 2. The d-pad below the left stick. 3. All black.
@@markrolfe5084 it's on retroid's website. Mine shipped yesterday. It only costs 150, so the extra power is definitely worth 30 bucks over the vanilla 3
Retroid Pocket 3+ is better console than RG505 even with same specs, better screen, better ergonomics, better use in cloud mode, play store and google services, OTA update from time to time, a lot of mods and repair options, new shell with screen for only $35 and so on... basically Retroid > Anbernic
@@HctudYT and what make you say this? Becuase you ordered one? I mean we have footage of both devices playing the same games now and its obvious which one is superior.
Start & select buttons should be below while d-pad, A-B-X-Y & anologue sticks should be pushed slightly upward on device. Also stacked R1/R2-L1/L2 & a trapezoid shape just like Abernics win600 would give gamer a better hold on the actual device.
I haven't even watched the video yet, but I'm going to make a prediction: Runs all the cartridge based systems perfectly. Runs PS1 games just fine. Can run some Dreamcast and PSP games, but will struggle with the harder to emulate games. Can't run anything beyond that. EDIT: I wasn't too far off.
You know, with the price of a Steamdeck (cheapest model), I'm finding all these home it portable retro consoles are now useless. It essentially makes them all invalid.
These devices can sometimes be a little more portable than the Steam Deck, but what I love about my Steam Deck is it can handle PlayStation 3 and Switch rather easily.
@@Cyko.. Damn right! I got it mainly for N64 and PS2 but pleasantly surprised to get PS3, GC and Wii all up with ease! Had to buy another SD card but well worth the asking price.
@@personausermike1 I got like 80 PS2 games installed on my Steam Deck because PS2 was one of my favorite systems of all time, and every single game runs perfectly.

"Stuttering Stanley Action" is currently my favorite phrase on the internet, it's just the perfect description
Ambernic has been putting out some nice handhelds lately. I sold my Analogue Pocket and bought a RG353V and haven't looked back.
Great decision! I got the RG351V instead of the Analog Pocket.
I just bought one. Really looking forward to it arriving.
Great review! The screen looks gorgeous, but not having triggers is not a minor thing to me.
I got my Ayn Odin Pro recently and very happy with it, otherwise I'd be all over this.
I'm about to get my hands on the Pimax Portal. That would make most Android Handhelds released in the next 8 years Obsolete.
The Ayn Odin Pro is but more powerful anyway isnt it?
This thing can actually play most PSP games at 3-4x resolution.

Did you upload any titles to it or did you play what was on it out the box?
You should do a comparison video of this with the Retroid Pocket 3.
Looks promising… i love my Funkey S but I want something that can do more soon…
It would be amazing if Anbernic and powkiddy combined the X80 size and design with the rg505 system components and configuration. 7inch screen!
Great vid. Does it have display out ? Micro hdmi or mini display port. 🤔 thanks.
No, it doesn't

Wind waker. Twilight princess, and Wario run good.

I'm going for the Retroid pocket 3, looks similar to this, although specs aren't as good
No, stop. There is a 3+. It is the rp3 body with this processor. It just released yesterday.
@balboa0621 there is a 3 plus, but can't find it anywhere, and for the systems I want to emulate its fine

Can it play Pitfighter?

Do you get all the games on these or do you have to download them
Download.
If it can do PSP RPGs at full speed, that's all that matters to me.
So, do you get it or ?
That sucks it doesn't have an HDMI-out, I think that's pretty important for a "switch clone"
Agreed, but when he was reviewing it I swear I seen a "casting" button which he did not discuss? Wonder if you can actually cast it?

$197

Can the roms be used on other systems
Sure
Why do they keep putting the headphone Jack on the top, just why🙅♂️

Your games lag when you first run them, because shader cache.

Yes

Instead of all this half-arsed Android stuff, maybe Ambernic should just concentrate on a competitive SteamOS device.
