I used to work at Aladdin's Castle. Turning the games on and seeing them all run through their startups and then start blaring their sounds was actually the highlight of my day.
I don't have an arcade machine, but this is the perfect size for me. A small, but functional arcade machine for casual play. Listen up, Sega, SNK, Taito, Namco, etc. Please let Evercade release arcade cartridges for you!
Not for $300, that to me is insane!! You can get a full size arcade for that price or a countercade, nice size counter cades, I will pass on this one, some ppl dont have to pay for these because the companies will send them a product to review but I definitely won't be paying $300 for this thing
@@CRAZYCANUCKTV who exactly are you going for. it;s 300 for the sanwa ver. and thats through funstock. everyone else tops out in the mid 200's and compared to modern consoles. this is practically budget friendly.
Yeah, I really wish Capcom would release some carts for Evercade as well. Doesn't even have to be direct arcade games. Could just be a collection of their NES ports. Anything! It would be something that takes it from being a very Eurocentric platform to something that could get more Americans into it. I'm definitely looking forward to this four new carts being released though.
I wish they make Evercade Alpha with Bubble Bobble and Puzzle Bobble games or some other classic arcade games like Tapper, Pengo, Circus Charlie, Up’n down etc. Or other Evercade Alpha with classic shoot ‘‘em up games.. Gorf, Gyruss, Time Pilot, Xevious etc.. ❤
If all the games across both machines were on a single machine and it had HDMI out, I would definitely get one. I’d pay £300 for it if it including all that and marquees for all 12 games.
pre-ordered megaman day 1, just because already have most the carts and love bartops. They have done so much, but think they have so much more they can do. Besides wanting them to release these games on cart (Capcom, Namco, Taito, etc) would be kinda cool if they released "meant for arcade" carts with Genesis/SNES games that have very arcade like styles
With these dimensions, it will fit nicely next to a Vectrex. Although, I still secretly dream about a full-sized Evercade-powered arcade cabinet. I know, people are using the VS to build them at home, but I do not have the necessary tools and skills.
I’m mainly getting one to play Donut Dodo in something resembling an arcade-authentic form. It’ll be fun to play Rod-Land with arcade accurate controls, as well.
The screen looks low that your hands would obscure the screen. The marquee is big enough that they could have raised the screen an inch or two and reduced marquee. I’d take gameplay experience over huge marquee visual. Nice review. A real step forward in countertops with cartridge slots.
This Mega Man machine is going be my first dip into the evercade sphere. I'll probably use it as a dedicated evercade machine if I start collecting carts. Itd be cool if they had a cart with mega man games to go along with this
I would love for them to make a 2 sided one for 2 players, with a jukebox for 4 cartridges or more. Provide a HDMI out for a tournament vibe with friends on game night, would be sweet. I think I like this one better than the Street Fighter 2 one.
8 inch screen too small. An rk3326? They could have went with a raspi zero 2w and saved some money. I don’t see this being a $200 device. Even the 69, handheld has a hdmi out
I'm guessing there is no HDMI out because of licensing restrictions (same reason why we aren't getting built in games on carts) and it would put the Alpha in competition with the Evercade VS.
It does look nice, but lack of HDMI ports is a deal breaker for me personally. This almost looked like a better VS alternative to me... oh well, maybe someone out there can figure out a way to convert a VS into a full custom arcade cabinet.
That does it! PIXEL -- With all your connections to Blaze Interactive, PLEASE get the message out to them to _MAKE the Evercade collection of games and consoles _*_DIRECTLY_*_ available in the U.S. once and for all!_ We deserve it here in the States!
If they can get the EverSD working on it I think I'd buy. I love the official cartridges but I think I'll have all the other games I want to play on this as well thank you.
If I had the spare cash for one I'd have gone with the mega man too. Even though it visually look like an arcade it's still looks to be better suited to 1 player and the mega man one has games better suited for single player overall.
With the USB Controller option these are great except for they’re both missing a must have game. This one is missing Captain Commando & Sports Club & the Street Fighter version really needs SFAlpha 3 Upper to be great
It’s gotta be said - if products like the Evercade line aren’t indicative of a market for retro games, I don’t know what is. Don’t know for sure, but I would say that Retro-Bit is probabaly killing it with all the Genesis and SNES re-releases they have put out as well. Even though the ROMs for the games Evercade has been selling for years now are available through not so respectable means, it just goes to show that people are willing to buy them if they were easily available. Kudos to Evercade for killing it with what seems like a pretty good line of products. I personally don’t have any (I’ve got a hefty retro collection as is), but more power to them and their fans.
I also wish Capcom let Evercade sell the games on cartridges. I know its a Capcom issue and not an Evercade issue, but it's still disappointing. This bartop arcade looks great though. Might pick one up in the future. I'd be curious to see how it works with the PS1 carts, like Tomb Raider or Legacy of Kain (i'd assume not prefered with the shoulder buttons). Thanks for the review.
It's just a Evercade EXP in a Bartop shell, with pretty much the spec. NO acrylic to protect the control deck art!!!!! Wtf were they thinking in making a arcade Bartop????? Did anyone in HQ tested this out for more then 1hour of intense gameplay 😂🤣🤔 The control panel layout looks so odd, out of proportion 🤔😂🤣😅
Seems like it would have been a better choice to label it as a "CAPCOM CPS Arcade Cabinet", with artwork from several of their arcade IPs. Or allow the user to swap magnetic artwork as they wish.
Wish it was a little bigger say 20 inch screen and have 2 control pads hook up unhuh but what's the point unless I'm collecting that for show huum I'm just a bit old fashioned it's nice though peace out
I think it appeals to those that already have a library of Evercade cartridges. I don’t have anything in this bartop/mini form factor, and this honestly seems like a fun way to experience a lot of the cartridges I have.
The button layout sucks though. It's like Evercade never seen an arcade stick or cabinet before... The controlpanel should have been bigger, to make it more comfortable to play on. Also, I wish you could rotate the screen, for the vertical shmups, just like the Egret Mini. And yeah, the lack of HDMI out sucks. But I guess they wouldn't want people to buy these cabinets, instead of the VS consoles, when they can sell you both, and make more money. If the make a bigger refined bartop cabinet, or even a full size floorstanding one, then I'll bite.
Evercade is so poor, they have too many problems with their handhelds and carts not being compatible with each other, when updates are available or new frimware there is always some sort of issue. I will not be buying. I had all the evrcade products... I collected them all and I also got an EverSd, its that poor I sold It at a car bootsale.
Street Fighter is the worst fighting game. Fighting Fantasy is the best fighting game. Evercade sell small screen retro devices to old people who cannot play on small screen. No hdmi = no buy.
If all the games across both machines were on a single machine and it had HDMI out, I would definitely get one. I’d pay £300 for it if it including all that and marquees for all 12 games.

I don't have any Evercade products myself (yet), but everything I see makes me feel like this company is doing things right.
Yeah, I really wish Capcom would release some carts for Evercade as well. Doesn't even have to be direct arcade games. Could just be a collection of their NES ports. Anything! If they made a Mortal Kombat one, I would buy this in a heartbeat
they need proof that this is going to sale first. especially with MK.

Get the VS, connect via HDMI, plug in your own arcade stick of prefference, put it into a nice box and you have a full-sized arcade cabinet.
Those Toaplan carts would be cool with this. They need to make one with just vertical shmups
Exactly. Those toaplan ones r awesome but we need vertical screen man

I agree, I personally can’t wait for Donut Dodo, In the Hunt, and Moon Patrol on this, among others.
I bought Donut Dodo on the iircade before that store went down. Definitely the way to play it.
So awesome to have the six button setup AND plays cartridges.
The screen looks low that your hands would obscure the screen. The marquee is big enough that they could have raised the screen an inch or two and reduced marquee. I’d take gameplay experience over huge marquee visual. Nice review. A real step forward in countertops with cartridge slots.

No aryclic top to protect the artwork and only an 8inch screen. Can see where they skimped on quality this thing is to expensive for what it is.
How is the input latency? It looks like there is a bit, based on the button presses vs the action on screen.

Does the Namco cart work on the alpha?
with tv out would even more amazing
Thanks M.L.P.
I want the Streetfughter 1. It be sweet if later they release SF3 carts
Its a little small for me. I'm probably going to wait until more games come out or maybe if they release like a 12 inch screen.
The games should've went in the side or back with a lockable door so it was a function arcade.
Whoever designed this Bartop has never been to an arcade or grew up in the 90s/2000s 😂🤣
really nice to have at room, i wont play anything on it though
I think the deluxe model comes with all 6 games and marques.
no hdmi out?! 😭😭
Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 cart
pricey but looks like a nice quality small arcade cab so maybe its not so pricey lol
Good call on MegaMan
I would get one for my office but i see that those games sell out quickly and not sure if they will ever restock them.

You can plug in two USB controllers, so you’re covered there! But yeah I’d like the screen to be a bit bigger.
