I went to is concerto in Montreal a few weeks back with my best friend. He invited me for my birthday. He knew I loved his music... It was a wonderful gift. At the enb of the show, the four violinist left but Olafur stayed alone on stage. He told us the Story of is grandmother. How he loved, that she was is biggest fan and when she passed away he wrote this song for her. He played fyrsta by himself. At first I was suprised the violinist left since their is violin in the song, but I sat there, listening to him. I was transported to another place. A place where people silenced could speak again, where those who suffered could heal their wounds. And then I heard them. In the backstage, we could here the sounds of the violins playing. and then... silence. Not a word, not a sound, for at least 2 minutes. Everyone in the crowd was there, living the moment together. This moment will forever be engraved in my memory as one of the most emotionaly powerful moments in my life. I cried so much. Not of pain, not of joy. I don't know what it was, but I just remember looking at my friend, is eyes soaked with tears. We both huged each other, knowing what we just lived was a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you Olafur. From the bottom of My heart, I am forever grateful for this experience.
Sumting Wong I transferred myself back on his concerts again with your comment. In addition - violins were playing so soft and looking alike from somewhere far away. For me it was like Olafur’s grandmother were listening to him and even talking to him. And then those keys.. they were pushed that gentle and kind so it was like touching someone’s soul.. even breathing at the concert hall was useless. Thank you, thank you so much Olafur for those unbelievable feelings and emotions that we all experienced during your concerts. If the silence has its sound, it’s your keys.
A year ago, I met the most wonderful woman in the world. Shared interest in classical music (she plays cello), Fyrsta was the first classical song we slow-danced to. It was beautiful. In a few months, I'm going to send her Living Room Songs CD as a birthday gift eventhough we're not together anymore due to the distance we have. Thanks, Olafur. This is an absolute masterpiece.
I hate and love that pretty much every one of Olafur Arnalds's songs go straight to my heart. No music has ever gotten more of an emotional rise from me.

It was around 2 years ago I listen it for first time. I'll never forget who send me this music and never I'll be not tired to listen it again and again. This version is so amazing. Simple but so so so much nice.
At the end of every Olafur Arnalds song, I sit down and think of what i just heard, and then i hear it again. Olafurs music is beauty at its purest form.
Those three rolling crescendos from 1:59 to 3:01 just randomly pop into my head from time to time. Haunting, beautiful, contemplative. The cellist steals the show 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I call this song 'Sorrow'. the mini crescendos leading up ro a wishful future only for self doubt to kick in & second guess yourself... You "experience' it.
I love Happiness does not wait. Very sad, poignant, tearful. My daughter is dancing to this piece of music in her Neo Classical Ballet Competition in Western Australia. Wish her the best.
This is amazing. I just found out what you guys do. This amazing. We are all united by these waves that makes us remember, we all suffer from the same condition, it is so beautiful to be alive. All the best.
This song means the man who I become today... It's my first time of realizing who really I am... My tears, my smiles, my dissapointments, my succeses and etc... Shortly; Thanks for your pure art...
@@SHVideografie yes, that is one way of looking at it.. made me associate a movie that I love: The Limits Of Control by Jim Jarmusch (one of the few true artists today)

thank you ! for this intelligent composition. thank you ! for makeing hear us emotions. thank you ! for opening our eyes, to see the ice and the frost.
one of the best musicians ever in my opinion. he can produce such a mind blowing piece of art with limited instruments just like we see in the video. olafur arnalds definitely need more appreciation. too stunning to be ignored.
😢I have only known sadness since I was a child, I don't remember the last time I was happy and my soul smiled, perhaps it was a cosmic design😮or was it coincidence
Love this young man' music... have started using Google Translate for the song titles. Turns out one of my favorites is "06 Lag Fyrir Ömmu. Song for Grandma" (Icelandic). Love everything he does!
all-around gorgeous. I love the simplicity of the setup contrasting with the richness of the music - really looking forward to the rest of the project.
Sé que es muy poco problable q visites Chile en alguna oportunidad....si todo mejora espero estar en Europa el proximo año y poder deleitarme con verte tocar en vivo. Gracias por entregar emocion.
One person may find it depressing; another may find it uplifting. Nevertheless, the song is beautiful in both regards. Damn Icelanders and their overflowing talent...
I disagree. I think his music is some of the most relaxing and uplifting I've ever heard. Slow doesn't necessarily mean depressing. Just my perspective, though :)

The depth of humanity in the sweetness of the breaking heart softly open. This man is an angel ...bless him.
I know, breaking it open like a soft nut, and there is chocolate inside that you slowly eat with your loved one on a stairs.. i know..

Stunning Sir. Just totally Stunning.
I have discovered this musician little time ago...but he's just amazing...I love his music...so...different, so inspiring.
when we play his living room music, we use violi da gambi (viols) for the string parts. Sounds extra lovely.
That was really awesome.
