TOYOTA Has Gone FULL WOKE! New Tacoma and Tundra are shining examples…

- Has Toyota gone full Woke? Lots of tiny hybridized engines, forcing green energy down your throat and hiking prices like there is no tomorrow... Doesn't feel right. What happened to Reliability, Simplicity, and Affordability? Isn't that the Toyota way? Not anymore it appears. A 2024 Toyota Tacoma that cost over $50K with a 2.4L 4 cylinder motor and is made entirely out of Mexico. Cool. Who asked for that? I’ll highlight a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport, TRD Off Roads and SR5s in this video. Along with various 2024 Toyota Tundras!
Toyota enjoyed hyping their new Tundra sales in March, but what they fail to mention is that the majority of them were carry-over models from 2023 that didn't sell the year prior. Inventory levels were through the roof across the nation because they hadn't been selling. So of course when tax seasons rolls around and Toyota dealers start offering $8-10K off MSRP, they magically sold?
Very few truck guys get genuinely amp'd for a 4 banger pickup truck... let alone a 4 banger pickup that cost over $50K. smh...
In this satirical video I show what it takes to get invited to Toyota events! Wish me luck!
If you enjoyed this video and appreciate the honesty I provide, please consider Liking and Subscribing. I genuinely appreciate your support, thank you!

4 cylinder turbos plus hybrid for a truck is criminal.
100%, brother
How many really tow or haul? Pickups in the last 20 years have evolved into people haulers first
@@bondobilly9369i just want a small truck, like a s10 pickup so i can shove a 350 into it
Knee-jerk low-I.Q. sentiment there. Study the improved 4-cyl. torque specs, and learn basic geology. We've been drilling for desperation oil after global conventional crude plateaued around 2006 (leading to financial shock). Fracking bailed us out for awhile, but it's a matter of when (not if) shale drilling peaks, then the wastrel mentality will be shunned. The Permian shale in Texas is now the bulk of what's supposed to make America "energy independent," which was always lousy math. The Bakken in North Dakota quietly peaked after years of hype, and the same game of pretend-it's-infinite is being played in Texas.
That doesn’t hardly do any better on gas mileage they failed big time
Toyota has completely priced out their customer base. I have no clue who will be buying these. My guess is nobody.
Toyota is like a run away train headed for the end if the line....Why must they follow one another off the cliff?
I know a 4 banger for that much is wild
Only people with cash will be buying those pro and trailhunter trims. Nobody wants anything lower than those trims for those high prices. Banks will not approve the normies for these expensive loans
unfortunately, there are a lot of suckers born every minute. There are a lot of suckers out there.
Trump said when he gets back in he will slap a 100% charge on vehicle manufacturers per vehicle if they build them outside usa and want to sell them in the usa
$400,000.00 for the average house.
$60,000.00 for a truck.
$50,000.00 salary.
What could possibly go wrong?
Don't forget the 55% off the salary that the GOV takes from you.
And the bank ready and willing to lend the money
@@thomasprukalski3069only for them to also go bankrupt when most people are unable to pay them back....
Don't worry, they'll just extend the terms: how would you like to pay off your truck for 10 years? 🤮
Where the hell you living making 50k a year??! Midwest?
Can’t believe they dropped the V6 for what’s a negligible increase of mpgs
Nothing like turbo-lag in a truck, where 90% of driving is done at low rpms (offroading, towing, stop and go traffic.)
@jakeviolet2195 but don't you want an extra *taps on calculator* 2 miles to the gallon and way more complexity and cost to your repairs through scarcity and up charges????
That hybrid v6 Tundra only gets 3mpg more than my v8 GMC pickup. There’s a bigger gap between my summer and winter mpg than with a hybrid power train smh.
This I agree with.
It is the EPA fault on why Toyota was forced to put in the 4 cylinder engine.
I don’t like the fact that the Tacoma’s are made in Mexico. I miss the old days back in the 1980’s when Toyota’s ware made in Japan. Those were quality vehicles.
I hear you. You’re not alone on that. 👌
Want the best Japanese vehicles... get one built by the JAPANESE! 100% agree :)
Exactly. Bought my 4runner because it was made in Japan in the Lexus factory. Might have bought a Lexus if a dealer was closer to us.

Ha ha! Funny guy. You should have worn a Toyota hat, shirt, and carry a Toyota water cup. Lol. Thanks for the laugh man. Have a great day.
Boo fuckin’ hoo. Toyota just had their best sales month in 3 years and they’re trouncing the rest of the car industry. You can stand there and scream the word “woke” and bitch about high prices but the market is what matters. And the market has decided that Toyota makes some of the best cars and trucks out there. Do I think $80k for a Tundra is stupid? Yes. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of other people who are happy to pay that. And they can’t keep the new Tacomas on the lots down here in Texas.
I’ll just hang on to my 2018 Tundra and enjoy every mile. Forever.
I feel the same way about my 02 sequoia
Ive have a 1992 f250 for 24 years. And a 2017 tacoma with a manual transmission. I'm keeping them both forever.
Yeppers... and my 2019 Tundra 5.7 ltr
Driving my 07 Tundra till the wheels fall off. Still looks and runs great .
They’re so smart! They think we’ve forgotten that a 4cyl used to cost way less than the v6 or v8 upgrade. They’ve made your engine choice for you and are charging more! Genius
Shrinkflation at its finest!
Nothing will change until the consumers change. When people stop buying the company will start listening.
That’s a fact 👌
Even if they do start listening it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth tbh
Therein lies the problem. Americans are in love with their "shinys".
@@mattkrumal239 They all know, new is better!
Some of us have stopped buying. In February I totaled my 2017 tundra. Looked around and bought my tundra back and am having it fixed. I’d rather drive a totaled truck than buy a different one. The prices are absolutely stupid.

Toyota isn’t what they once were. Sad.
I said the same thing about Ford.
A 4 cylinder making 21mpg is criminal😂😂💀💀
It really has a noticeable MPG advantage when you’re putting around town, and not constantly flooring it, and coasting to stops/red lights. At those low speeds and loads you don’t need the power of a V6, and so all that extra weight and friction from two extra cylinders, banks, manifolds, pistons and 8 more cams, etc… all it does it lower MPG for potential power that is not currently needed.
When you get onto the highway at 70 and especially 80+ MPH, and definitely with towing, the difference in MPG is greatly reduced. You essentially have a small motor working hard and a large motor working easier.
That being said, 4 cylinder engines have come a LONG way in the past 30 years. There was the gaffe period of balancing output with reliability and cost (*Hyundai turbo 4’s blowing up, Subaru blowing gaskets, etc*.), but I think we are in a fantastic spot where my 2.0 Ecoboost can make almost as much torque as a 5.0 Ford V8 from 20 years ago, produce more HP, and get better MPG.
I do think there is a limit, though. Anything that weighs over 4,500/5,000 lbs and isn’t a commercial or industrial vehicle, should probably just have a big DOHC 3.8-4.0 V6 or I6 with modern VVT, cam phasing, port or direct fuel injection, or a 3.0 with all that and a turbo. The alternative is a 4-banger with a hybrid- which does the job just fine and maybe even faster… it’s just if and when that hybrid system acts up… 😬
My 07 tundra 5.7 has 378k, and gets 22 on the highway, 18 in town. How the hell do you lose half the motor and get the same mpg? Makes zero sense to me.
The immense amount of sarcasm that is dripping in this video makes me happy I still have my 2003 Toyota Tacoma pre-runner 2WD. I bought mine for $9000 in 2021. It has 229,000 miles and I can’t wait to get to the 250,000 miles club.
324,000 on my 2005 Sequoia Limited and still running strong every day👍
“Come on guys, refinance your house”
That or pull your children’s college funds. Either will do!! 👌 😂
I remember being envious of people high doller vehicle's, or looking for ways to get one myself. Now older and wiser, shake my head, glad i don't own that same vehicle.
@@russmode I think that’s the story of most young men, particularly for those of us who didn’t have it growing up, there’s a longing for getting the shiny thing. I’m thankful I didn’t overextend myself to get an expensive car as a kid because then I would have been fighting a repossession on my record for the next decade, I wouldn’t have been able to buy anything, much less something nice. Because I didn’t live beyond my means as a kid/young adult, I’m now in a better position to buy what I want, I still won’t overextend like a lot of people would. When I see a nice car on the road I will usually just admire the vehicle without any thought for the person who bought it.. is it a lease? Did they have a trade in? Did they have a good interest rate? What’s their credit score? Maybe it’s not their car? How much do they make in a year? None of that matters, I don’t need to compare myself to anyone else, I’m no lesser of a man than someone with a more expensive car. People overextending on nice cars is a tale as old as time, that’s why there’s thousands of repossessed cars sold at auctions every week in the U.S. and for every repossession there’s a rich person that can actually afford it, and the payment doesn’t stress them financially. Rich people oftentimes will lease cars, there’s a reason they’re rich. They will always appear to have the latest and greatest car because they are incentivized to continue to trade in their 2 year old car for the new model, and brand loyalty is rewarded by most manufacturers. They will have a cheaper payment than if they financed, and because they’re rich they likely have Tier 1 credit and don’t put any money down and they pay low interest rates, so they basically leverage nothing. They rent the vehicle because it’s a depreciating asset, and it allows them new vehicles every 1-2 years, they know not to tie their money into a depreciating asset. For rich people it’s less about owning the car being the goal, and more about it being a status symbol and making a statement. If they finance the car they’re driving it for twice as long, and they pay for the 4-5 years of depreciation, and they’re on the hook if something happens. If they lease they just rent the vehicle at a lower cost and swap it out for a new one every year or 2, and present as always owning a nice new car, status, but done with consideration. They always have the option to buy the car at the end of the lease, but rarely do because it’s a bad investment. It’s smart really, if status is your goal. Most of us want to own our car.
😂😂
What house? What college fund?
53k for a piece of junk with a crap 4 cyl turbo motor that already has problems with turbo lag, engine sputtering, and check engine lights coming on.

3.4 v6 supercharged tacoma
Legendary satire. Toyota marketing has lost their minds.
This is why I rebuilt and drive a second gen 4Runner 3.0 4x4.
What the world needs is more grille, with the frontal area and aerodynamics of a barn door. Add a 4 inch by 5 foot slit of a windshield to not see anything in front.
There are those who still prefer reliability and durability over small turbo charged engines and fancy numbers.
Peace of mind is priceless. That’s gone to the wayside…
I like my 300 inline 6 that I can work on with a crescent wrench and a cheap socket set.
Tell that to the government regulators backing manufacturers into a corner where a turbocharged engine nets better economy.
This is why I went with a Nissan Frontier when looking for a midsize truck. V6 over a turbo any day.
I am with you guys, but every manufacturer is doing the same thing. They are all being forced to do it.
We have no other choice but to accept it or just hold on to your old trucks.
They put Diesel engines in them overseas. I had a recall on my new Tacoma made in Mexico. The dealer said it still had to follow Toyota's design and there he was not worried about that.
😂Since everyone is using their truck as a tall-car-fashion-statement, putting a turbo 4-cyl makes sense for mpg. For towing/hauling, NOPE!
Turbos are totally impractical in a truck. The only place they work are in sports cars where you can get out on the open road and romp on it. They suck for offroading, towing and even stop and go city traffic. It's like putting a potato in your exhaust below 3,500 RPM.
Love it! Give Toyota the truth, priced the working man out of market
Thanks brother! That is what they did… =\ it’s the unfortunate truth.
All the manufacturers have.
@thomasbialzik3060 I would argue that is an effect of our weak, overly-inflated economy- not simply the manufacturers. And Toyota has taken this one to "eleven".
@@mrfuriouserYour assessment of a weak economy doesn't jive with inflation. Demand is high because more people are employed right now in the US than in past history. This keeps inflation high. The problem is corporations are taking advantage and bumping prices higher than what the true market would be. Don't get me started how Wallstreet is screwing us in the housing department. Private equity firms are the enemy driving up land prices and rent.
@thomasbialzik3060 I agree with half of what you're saying- but our economy is on LIFE SUPPORT. Employment numbers mean jack squat now, as they changed how they are calculated and what they compare to... and this is post COVID! They also STOPPED calculating transportation. Car Care Nut ain't beating the drum for Toyota. Go watch his video where he trashes the bz4x. But he does like their hybrids; who doesn't like getting 35 mpg on the Sienna, for example? And it's as reliable as the V6. What's not to like about their hybrids? (The jury is still out on the turbocharged versions, but otherwise their hybrids are as reliable as their non-hybrids.)

You can't blame Toyota for US, CA, and EU regulations. At least they avoided the EV debacle that's destroying other companies. Similar with me. 2009 TRD Sport V6 4WD out the door for $28,600. It’s at 230,000 miles. The goal is to make it to 300k. Changed a u-joint, AC compressor, AC condenser, AC blower fan and relay.
Doubt I’ll ever buy another Tacoma. Different company now.
I paid 24,400 for my Limited 2002 Tacoma 4-dr Prerunner. I'm at 314,300 miles and counting. I agree the new prices are nuts. Toyota has lost sight of there customer base and there flagship small pick that put them on the map! Now, it's made in Mexico, taking American jobs away too.
It’s less of a model and made in Mexico.
Don’t let Trd Jon see this video. He’ll throw down. He loves his new Tacoma.
Such a fucking joke! $50k+ for a 4 cylinder is downright stupidity!!!
TRDJon😂😂😂
BRILLIANT video…..spot on! You earned a sub and a thumbs up from me.
Haha thanks a ton man, I appreciate the support!
Thank you for putting this into this format. You helped me decide on not purchasing a RAV4. I had my doubts about the companies quality of the newer stuff.
That was hilarious! Hope Toyota is watching this stuff. Keep the updates on the slow moving market coming. We need to make the dealers and Toyota know that those prices won’t work.
Great video untamed!! Toyota is slowly going down the drain!
I don’t know about the new ones . I have a 2004 Tacoma extra cab with a camper shell 2.4 with a 5 speed . It has a/c power breaks , steering , power windows , and stereo which I did upgrade last year and 80,000 miles on it . Truck does all I need and it’s pre woke . At 62 this truck affords me to keep my hobby of classic cars going lol . No monthly payments for me
Going to savor every mile on my 5th gen 4Runner
