Nah, Charles Barkley is right. No one signed up to be someone's role model, because then someone will hold you repsonsible for THEIR BEHAVIOR. For example, "You can't drink beer, because you are a role model." So a person can't live their life, because someone wants to hold idolize them as being perfect more than they hold themselves accountable for their own actions? You can't FORCE people to play a role for YOU that they don't want to play. I got my own damn life, I am not trying to be a role model for thousands to millions of people I don't know and will never know nor meet, but they FEEL like they know me just because they see my ass on TV. That problem today is too much worship of celebrities, rich people and politicians who don't give a shit about you, and don't have to give a shit about you. But you want them to be your dumb ass "role model". People need to grow the fuck up and live in reality, and not some pipe dream that a complete stranger gives a damn about you for them to be your "role model."

I agree that yes morals and values are declining, yes no one wants to talk about but it is definitely not because it's boring.
The true reason NO ONE and i mean, NO ONE wants to talk about this is because the first thing you have to do after you admit it's a problem is dissect what role you (meaning all of us) individually play in the decline.

I don't get information from solely Fox or CNN or MSNBC although they seem to be the main source media outlets where folks grow their bias. If you watch Fox look at commercials they tend to be hockey, baseball, eagles, flags my pillow etc. Then watch CNN commercials are basketball, McDonald's, social statemnets etc. They sucker folks that subscribe to their narrative to their programming for monetary gain. Now where we both agree is monetary gain equals control or power . But i ask why then do those people continue to view or subscribe to those particular channels. Because you watch what you trust, believe, and agree with. Therefore i can't blame the media for pandering to people who want to see and read or hear the narratives they are selling ! We have to grow up and stop blaming media. It's like blaming the dog for not having homework done . We are far too old and should be too educated for that.

If you want to no why morals are declining, consider this: What is the one word you rarely hear anymore? Hint: It is the one word that keeps all humans in check.
The word is SHAME. It is rarely, if ever, expressed anymore--especially in media. Whether that is television, movies, vlogs, or what have you--it is a rare thing to hear someone use the word SHAME to censure someone. When was the last time someone said "shame on you" or "shame on him/her"? For example: if you "slut-shame" someone, you are condemned--regardless of whether someone is behaving like that. It is considered wrong to shame someone behaving like a slut. In other words, shamelessness is promoted by the media/societal powers that be.

He also said a lot of his business is now with middle to older single women with at least 3-4 cats and or dog's. He also said that most men and women are on complete different trajectories and dislike each other so much that most are growing old alone, well other than for their animal's. The US has too many noses busybodies pushing fear, guilt and shame, primarily against men now, based on their own guilt, shame, immaturity and obnoxiousness over sexuality, and calling that morals. I think that the US is of low moral values but I think that it has always been that way, because of the duplicity, because it’s not illegal to lie unless you’re under oath even for public officials and people in power, because of the scamming, etc. These are actual moral matters, not the fear, guilt, shame and delusions that you have over sex(again, this stuff is primarily directed towards men now, and it’s pushed by men in power because they have the same delusions and mental and emotional conditioning) like we have in the US.

Was talking to a life long friend today that is a little older than me and has been a teachers for over 15 years now. With the kids he is seeing everyday he doesn't see almost any of them being able to be able to be in the military due to how soft they are. I said it's partially where we live but it's a problem. He said he can't remember the last time he saw two boys fight each other but he has seen a ton of girls fighting each other. I said you know when they talk about toxic masculinity? That's it. Just because they are females doesn't mean anything , all people can show feminine or masculine traits and when it's the girls showing those traits we have a problem and that's toxic. I personally feel like this is all being done by design, I have brothers that are 20 years younger which for brothers is a large gap but in general 20 years is nothing and the difference in how we grew up is the biggest generational gap we have ever seen. My father is in his early 60s and we grew up in a closer way than children that came from the same father. Unless the generation coming behind them can look at all the stupidity coming out of this generation like people who are 25 or so today look at those that are in their 40s and say a bunch of you were drug addicts and so on and that's why they didn't go down that path , it's our only hope. Problem is the kids I know that are 17 to 29 or so for the most part talk about things we never did. Everything is racist or sexist or some type of ism or ist and they care about that and none of them seem to think about real problems happening infront of them. Then again I talked to a woman who had to be around 55 - 65 the other day and she brought up politics and right away i saw what side she was on and seeing she brought up the jan 6th hearings like they were more than political theater. So I said ok if you have a problem with the people that were violent that's fine but to do this now when we have so many problems happening that we actually need taken care of why do this? She didn't have an answer. At that point I said ok what about the riots we saw for two years where people lost everything including lives , why aren't they being prosecuted? She answered with what do you mean they got Rittenhouse. I replied with but he's a free man and that's not what I was talking about. I guess the point is we have people that listen to msnbc and cnn and take it as gospel, that way when you bring up facts that are 100% provable it's like you're speaking gibberish. We are on a serious decline and I personally blame parents that have been so materialistic and think money replaces everything else you should do as a parent. One thing I think we need to bring back as a society especially for younger people is getting punched in the face. Now we have people that in the 90s or early 2000s would have been best up for getting in someone's face and screaming at them. I'm not calling for all out violence but I think it's healthy especially for boys to get into fights at an early age. Most of the people I fought when I was younger I had more respect for after. Something about a fist fight that keeps you humble even if you win. Now if one kid hits another his parents want to sue. We need to change what we created , thinking the government is going to do anything is a fools dream. We need to go back to raising men and with that comes better women as well. If people talk shit on here there's no chance of getting hit so the people that would normally say nothing can say whatever they want and when people bottle things up whether you're on the end of getting beat up or the one doing the beating it ends and they end up walking away and it's done. Now we just have this were the shit talking is endless and there's no consequences so it keeps going and going until one of those people explode. Personally I wish social media was never invented. I think it has done more harm than good and I can recognize the good that has come with it.

When you don't shame people for wrong doings and sometimes praised or "affirmed" you give an incentive to people to continue perpetuating the decay of morals.

The average American is fat, deeply in debt and indulgent in sin. Our country’s values have been declining for a long time and the solution is to get right morally in your own life. Build a family and lead them. Puppet politicians can’t and won’t save the problems that truly plague the country. The family structure is poor because the men are weak and immoral. Once men change for the better, the women and children will follow.

we're not allowed to restrict white women's empowerment (in modern society) even tho we should. no other group of humans have been so privileged in recorded history.

We worship money and worship people with money. The rich live outside the rules (they can buy politicians, influence and power). The only safeguard against it is to have spiritual tools.
The Quran is 5% rules, 95% stories. There's a chapter on Abraham, Noah, Mary, Jonah, Joseph etc. All different and timeless stories, yet they do the same thing. Which is they re-orient you back to your values and your values keep you grounded in reality.
We need more of this. Humans requires contraints to their behaviour. Without constraints, we are beasts.

Totally agree. But I used to believe the complete opposite. With age comes a degree of wisdom and a lot of Truths actually suck, but hey facts don’t care about our feelings. And we live in a time where it’s all about peoples feelings rather the truth so no wonder things are going downhill.

I agree I remember growing up every week on sunday I remember the church bells I haven't heard that for years . My father used to tell me when I was dating respect the young lady you are taking out . Treat her with respect and keep her safe and drive safe. Morels have so deteriorated these days. I remember my neighborhood it was a tight community I knew everybody . We had respect for our neborhood and community you didnt start no trouble or you got your ass handed too you very quickly. People all knew you the corner store owner knew you and your family. Tough neborhood if you were there to start trouble. But to me it was home. I miss those days when hard working peope had convictions and morels.

All ppl agree we need to deal with the issues hurting society but they only tackle the symptoms but forget to root out the core problem instead.

No, it's wealth that's actually declining. When people start going broke then they will start doing the kind of things they would never consider when things were great.
