I love those German sausages . I served in Germany many moons ago with the RAF and didn't stop eating for 3 years . Nice beer and nice sausages . Every Friday night . That sweet sauce wow. I spent 2 years serving in Berlin back I the 80's. Curryfurst was part of our staple diet, and I loved it. I still try to get proper German sausage and make my own when I get the chance. Great work guys, love the channel ❤
Once you’ve used a camping table you never want to go back. Mines got an aluminium top, (which rolls up) and I put my stove on it, food cooked, stove gone, it’s my dining table 😁
Another great video. Looking forward to seeing what camp sites are like in Netherlands . So true your comment about bikers when you stop and the bikers will always chat. Love getting on the ferry chatting to see where people going or have been. All the big motorbikes and they look at the two of us on our yellow Vespa in shock 🤣

Great to see the beautiful surroundings of the Netherlands. I have many happy memories of racing there in the 70's and early 80's ( Grasstrack / Longtrack sidecars ] . We used to try and camp but very often the locals would ask us to stay with them - lovely people ( The Grolsh is great too !! ). Enjoy.

The currywurst is fried in a pan and never grilled. The houses with wood and white brickplastered squares are called "Fachwerkhäuser". You also find the houses in belgium and the netherlands. In the north at the northsea they have often a roof with straw, they are called "Friesenhäuser". The "Friesen" sattled in the old times at the northseacoast in germany and the netherlands. Hi My wife is asking me again and again what silver colored gas stove is that and where to buy she want one herselve . the gehakt/tataar meat ,mostly whe flatten them out a bit with a fork or cut them in 1/2 so they are more easy to heat up . keep on riding .......

V twin with shaft drive, That sounds ideal for a reliable low maintenance Daily, I would like a shaft drive bike but options are so limited and im not in for a GS Yet!

Hi again. We lived in NL for about 5 years. GEHAKT is mince. Those are 'mince sticks' is the closest translation that I can think of. Frequently made from minced chicken, pork and horse. If it says 'pardenvlees' that's horse meat. You often find horse burgers as well.

I do love the mountains, but yes Northern Europe has none.... But travelling is all about experiencing different things, we have amazing memories of being in the Alps earlier in the tour... Im sure we will return again. Normandy is amazing, If your into WW2 history i promise youll not have enough time to see all you want! I could return over and over

We always bought bottles of currywurst when we were in Germany to take home. Bikers community is the same as motorhomers. You always talk to others whatever nationality. Great isnt it?

We were saying that the area you started riding in looked like Holland, had a very Dutch feel. As I typed that Ewa said the same thing 😂 we deliberately went to two bike cafes, one in Turin and one in Lichtenstein, neither were open despite what it said on Google 😢 both looked really nice but no use if they're shut 😂 love Holland, lovely people.
@@ontheroadadventure yes the culture seems to be different in Europe, when I was planning our trip I found a few but there are a dozen in easy reach of where I live in South Yorkshire, one is close enough that it's not worth getting the bike out, we often walk to it.
@@ontheroadadventure we received a warm welcome wherever we went but I guess we don't look like we're in a bike gang, neither do you or Ewa for that matter. I didn't know patches and clubs were illegal, that seems bizarrely restrictive in what seems to be such a tolerant society.
Where have you two buried your heads? Have you not got the Google Lens App. Get the app , turn it on select translated point the camera at any text you want to read and what you see turns to English as you move the camera along it. Keep up to speed , Google Lens auto translates more or less instantly in front of your eyes😀
@@ontheroadadventure I've travelled Europe, parts of Africa and Asia with it to hand. Saved so many Mysteries. You can move the camera over foreign language print and it near instantly over lays the words with English. Move along and down a page and you can read most languages in the language of your choice. It works with over 100 languages and has other uses as well!

There aren't any GS's in Germany because The Missenden Flyer and TeaPotOne have convinced lots of people in the UK that the "mighty GS" is the best thing since sliced bread....and they've all been snapped up by gullible British riders. Meanwhile good to see you in Holland. I'm always impressed by their command of English. Over here the weather still continues to disappoint...not that it's stopped me changing my ZZR1400 for a 'new to me' bike. Kocham Cie. Do widzenia.
@@ontheroadadventure "gullible British riders": so much prejudice and clichés and "opinions" on the GS. After riding naked bikes, super sports, tourers and sports tourers (Japanese, Italian, German) I currently ride a 1250 GS (often two up with full luggage) and it is without doubt one of the best bikes I have ever owned. It is also the most versatile one and I love its ability to both cover long stretches fast and comfortably (we have toured in France, Spain and Germany) without sacrificing the ability to explore the smaller backroads including light to medium offroad. I really do not understand why this bike attracts/merits so many negative reactions. But then I guess we unfortunately live in an increasingly polarised world, often for the wrong reasons.
@@ontheroadadventure I still have an old-school Polish driving license from the 80s, from the age of 16 with written parental consent. Back then, you had to take a special test for a motorcycle. In one day, I passed the written theory and three categories: car, tractor, motorcycle. Now you can't do that because the driving license is from 18 years old, but on a car license you can drive a tractor with a light trailer and a motorcycle up to 125 cm.
@@tonyrest6714I think it was a NTV; I had one, super reliable. When I worked in London in the 80’s I met several couriers that used them, they all claimed theirs did over 250k miles….i believe them!

Biker cafes seem to be very rare in this part of Europe 🤷♂️
@@ontheroadadventure yes the culture seems to be different in Europe, when I was planning our trip I found a few but there are a dozen in easy reach of where I live in South Yorkshire, one is close enough that it's not worth getting the bike out, we often walk to it.
I don’t think bikers are liked much in Netherlands, Patches and clubs are illegal and bikers have a bad reputation it seems
@@ontheroadadventure we received a warm welcome wherever we went but I guess we don't look like we're in a bike gang, neither do you or Ewa for that matter. I didn't know patches and clubs were illegal, that seems bizarrely restrictive in what seems to be such a tolerant society.
Yes we were also met with a good attitude and kindness almost everywhere we went too. Maybe the patch clubs had dramas there in the past 🤷♂️

Saved so many Mysteries. You can move the camera over foreign language print and it near instantly over lays the words with English.
Move along and down a page and you can read most languages in the language of your choice. It works with over 100 languages and has other uses as well!

There aren't any GS's in Germany because The Missenden Flyer and TeaPotOne have convinced lots of people in the UK that the "mighty GS" is the best thing since sliced bread....and they've all been snapped up by gullible British riders.
Meanwhile good to see you in Holland. I'm always impressed by their command of English.
Over here the weather still continues to disappoint...not that it's stopped me changing my ZZR1400 for a 'new to me' bike.

@@ontheroadadventure "gullible British riders": so much prejudice and clichés and "opinions" on the GS. After riding naked bikes, super sports, tourers and sports tourers (Japanese, Italian, German) I currently ride a 1250 GS (often two up with full luggage) and it is without doubt one of the best bikes I have ever owned. It is also the most versatile one and I love its ability to both cover long stretches fast and comfortably (we have toured in France, Spain and Germany) without sacrificing the ability to explore the smaller backroads including light to medium offroad. I really do not understand why this bike attracts/merits so many negative reactions. But then I guess we unfortunately live in an increasingly polarised world, often for the wrong reasons.

@@ontheroadadventure I still have an old-school Polish driving license from the 80s, from the age of 16 with written parental consent. Back then, you had to take a special test for a motorcycle. In one day, I passed the written theory and three categories: car, tractor, motorcycle. Now you can't do that because the driving license is from 18 years old, but on a car license you can drive a tractor with a light trailer and a motorcycle up to 125 cm.

@@tonyrest6714I think it was a NTV; I had one, super reliable. When I worked in London in the 80’s I met several couriers that used them, they all claimed theirs did over 250k miles….i believe them!
