Thank you for watching! Another indicator that you have an 01’ transmission is that your first gear is very tall. And yes, any year transmission can be swapped into any 01-05 Raptor 660, so just because you have an 02-05 doesn’t mean someone hasn’t swapped in an 01 at some point! You guys ROOOCK 🤘🤘🤘

Hi there. Super video and very well explained. I've a 2003 660 and it's crunching into 2nd gear. All other gears are fine. Any ideas what it would be off hand.

Do the transmissions vary in the 700rs too? I bought a basket case and the guy mentioned updating the transmission
Hey man I have a 05 yz250f I recently adjusted the valves put the bike back together now it has no compression please help also ( I made sure the timing was set perfectly)

Which gear assembly makes up the 5th gear on the 02-up 660 transmission my 03 just clicks in 5th
Sounds like it could be a bad fork. If I'm not mistaken, 5th gear is the same on all years for the 660. You can probably find a free PDF manual for the 660 which has pictures of the transmission with all of the individual gears labeled so you can find 5th. Hope this helps.
I think I had a 02' it was the first year you could get in Black???
I don't remember the color ways but I feel like every 2001 I ever see is blue so I'd bet 02 is the first year for black.

Can you get dif size gears to change the gear ratios?
Anything is possible. I'm not sure theirs a company that has different ratios made for the 660 but people have had custom gears cut for other models; it would be expensive no doubt and you'd have to do your research on ratios and what would make sense.

The 400ex also has a second gear issue. They are prone to loosing teeth on the gear
Interesting, ive had 5 different year 400 ex's and never came across that particular issue... Yet
@@xxdjsolomanxx well count yourself lucky. I have only owned one and it had the second gear issue. Infact you can't even get a oem gear anymore they don't make them. I had to buy a whole used transmission just to replace one gear
