Hey Mike I believe it's the solenoid that makes it do that with starting. Mine used to do it and when I changed it to new it was perfect after. And I only use the 10:0.1 pistons because it's hard on the starters and I've noticed it can drain the battery quickly. I would love to see what this quad does against Pete haggards raptor! I watch both channels and that thing is as mean as a monster can get!! Happy riding Mike and remember you are one of my favorite content creators. I also watch your videos from time to time to give me the energy I need to go out to the garage and start working on my stuff. And I bet if you try 155L and 160R mains, #25 pilots in Both carbs, with Dyno jet Needles on the third clip down from the top. And tune in the air fuel mixture screws to exactly 2.5 turns out from all the way in on both carbs. And if that doesn't work return the air fuel mixture screws back to stock settings and go from there with the jetting mods stated above.. but I swear those jets should be pretty close if not spot on. @@MichaelSabo oh for sure both are great options! Theres not that much ltr content out there and they are starting to get rare. I had one and its the comfiest 450 that i rode out of all of them. Its unique with the back exhaust coming out in the middle. Its a great bike stock. Im curious how it would compare to the newer 450's.

@@MichaelSabo I’ll be glad when I can get my 400ex finished they way I want it. Got to rebuild the top end and fix a stripped cylinder bolt. Either helicoil or a time cert don’t know which would be okay for sure. Anyway keep up the great work and love watching your channel. Helps me remember what I’ve forgot over the years and I have learnt some new things. You’re awesome man!!!

I think the Raptor 660 looks better than the 700. I have an 03 with a lot of mods. If you are looking to upgrade further, Keihin make dual FCR carbs for it. I've got the 35mm but they also make 39mm.

hey in case you run into the numbers not showing up on the cluster for the transmision. just press the little plusand minus butrtons on the shifer and theyll reappear :) sick truckl

Truck needs a leveling kit and 33" A/Ts tires, other than that def a good investment 👌, best selling trucks for a reason and I'm not even a Ford fan lol. The B&O (Bang and Olufsen) stereo system are nice too for a factory system, needs more bass IMO but nice a crisp sound otherwise 👌
Couldn't agree more on the audio system; they make a drop in sub/amp from the factory that I'm going to get. Did the same on my Silverado and it was mad decent.

Fords are the best 1/2 tons trucks on market everyone knows that! Trucks are very sensitive topic w/truck guys. U can't be BEST SELLING TRUCK 45YRS STRAIGHT if you're not great. Ford's are most expensive as well in my experience! Smart buy buddy. Full hybrid truck Is badass. 🇺🇸

Hey Michael I got a raptor 660 mostly stock just put a Lexx slip on with the stock header I knew I would have to jet it alittle the only thing it’s doing is hasating when I give it to much throttle at one time could use some help.??.
that raptors sick AF. My buddy has an 01 thats been passed around a couple of times within our group, my pops also had a 2002 Special edition before he got his 2008 ltr450. wouldnt mind a 700 or a 660 at some point.

If thats a eco boost motor in your truck, i suggest changing oil every 4000-5000 miles. It is alot easier on your turbos

Not sure on the new F150, but on my '18 - when it comes to the gear indicator in the gauge cluster - the +/- on the gear shift can turn that off and on as well as lock out gears in automatic. So if you're towing and want to keep the truck out of the top gears you can hit the minus button and delete gear ie press it 3 times and gears 10,9,8 will be removed from the cluster and the truck won't shift past 7th. This is not the same as using the buttons to shift in manual mode and the truck must be in gear to access the feature. I want this as my next truck with the propower to power a camper or the living quarters in my horse trailer.
Interesting. the on board generator is a big selling point in my opinion for trailering.
Your new truck is definitely worth showin off, love the jenny in the bed. I only use a 6kw for whole home so that's a beast. It's the perfect platform for you. Would love to see the 660 in quad wars!

@@MichaelSabo technically it’s for dirtbikes, but if you thread a on/off valve into the tube you can just tuck it in and leave it on all the time. It’s in a nice protected area so no worries of an accidental discharge of all your oil

Please build an 87-91 Suzuki LT250R. I love your channel and I like your builds. A lot of people build raptor, honda 250r, and banshee quads. Please build a real 250r. The Suzuki lt250r!!!!!!!! A lot of us that want to build them can't source the parts for them. They are discontinued amd can't be found. Maybe if u decide to build one it will help others be able to find parts or maybe places will see the demand for the parts and start to make them again.
Doesn't matter the brand, they'll all have issues. Pick the one you like best and deal with the problems when they come. As with anything.
@ Michael sabo I had the same problem with my 09 yfz 450 go to.hit the start button and the red light would come on and nothing but hit the relay assembly and it would start here and there, or takeba screwdriver across the connectors to battery and it would start, i ordered a new relay assembly and never had it happen again, i think its just a yamaha thing
Good tip! I think you're right about those starter relays; and especially when you start adding compression and straining them.
What did u finally end with pertaining to the final jet sizes in both carbs? From the pilot and mains to the kind of needles and which slot on those needles as well as how many turns on the adjustment screws underneath the carbs? Please and thank u. I've been having a hell of a time with mine...

C’mon mike do a 300ex 330 build!!! Out of everyone I think that you would do the best build!! Everyone bashes em and thinks that they’re underpowered but I feel more that way about Yamaha warriors but they mod them and make great power. I think that you could change some minds and turn some heads!!!

I see the f-150 as a step up. Their trucks might be a different story, but I know chevy's and other GM cars tend to burn oil.
Equipment-wise it's definitely a step up; I had no complaints about either of my Silverado's though!

My mom had a Ford Excursion (diesel, 2004) and it could tow a construction grade trailer with all the bikes no problem.
Dude I've heard those Excursions were/are work horses

I haven't gotten to drive a newer F150, but last winter when my Silverado was at the dealer for warranty work we got a newer Ford Ranger as a rental until it was done. It drove good and had good power but I wasn't a fan of the interior by any means. It felt way too much like a car and it didn't have very much space in it. Also, I don't know what the rental place had on it for tires but they sucked big time.
The thing put so much power down to the ground for such a small truck and the tires sucked so bad that I literally had to lightly poke at the accelerator pedal to get it to take off in snow without it spinning everywhere. I never even had that issue with my old 2004 V8 powered Silverado and it had no traction control to speak of.
Even with its' annoying issues I'm still liking my 2020 Turbo-4 powered Silverado. For being a four cylinder in a large truck it's not as doggy as a lot of people try to make it out to be. Some people just can't get pass a small power plant in a large vehicle.
As far as sport quads go I'd be happy just getting my hands on a good Blaster. But even those are going for way more than they're actually worth. And for your whiney neighbor issue, that's why you couldn't pay me to live in an upper class neighbor hood. It seems like all the whiners and cry babies live in fancy houses.
I'll take a decent house with a good bit of land far away from anyone any day. Luckily enough even though we do have closely packed neighbors on our street no one cares about what each other is doing and keeps to themselves. As long as it's not something bad that's going to affect everyone they could careless if you were driving your quad up and down the road. The only neighbor on the street that has one does it all the time.
My cheap Chinese dual-sport bike has an obnoxiously loud muffler on it and so far no one has complained with the couple of times I've ridden it down the road. But I'm switching it out for my own sake because it's just not enjoyable while riding. I'm going to get something that still sounds good and isn't going to blow out my ears. :)
I haven't ridden in the new rangers but this F150 is definitely nice. I still love GM but I got a great deal on the Ford; I was considering the Sierra with the 3.0 Diesel.
I am working on finding land to get away from this area; can't choose your neighbors.
@@MichaelSabo From the small amount of time I had with the Ranger, if you're like me and you like the open-ness of the front seats in the Silverado or F150 you will not enjoy the limited space in the Ranger because it almost feels claustrophobic.
As far as drivability goes it handles good, had good power and the accelerator pedal was very sensitive. It also rode decently.
One other thing I didn't like were the brakes. To me they almost felt dangerous because you'd push the brake pedal and it would travel for a small bit and then the brake pads would start catching the rotors. When they'd catch they'd really catch.
So mix that in with the bad tires and it felt like it would cause a potential slide/skid in winter conditions.
My Silverado's brakes started engaging the moment you pushed the pedal so you know what it was going to do.
But I am also comparing a rental vehicle to my own personal truck. So I don't know if a Ranger new from the deal acts the same way.
When are you uploading the video where you show how to rebuild this 660 engine?
