  • E 102 Gamma's story from Sonic Adventure is quite remarkable in many ways. E 102 gamma's death is honestly the ultimate example of making sacrifices. Watch til the end to see how else he made sacrifices.

I actually wanted Gamma story to be longer than the other characters because it was pretty dark story for it's time.

It’s got a good interesting story, cool playstyles, and music that was awesome for the time and still is to this day! The cutscenes, while cheesy nowadays, definitely could use a facelift, as well as some of the voice acting, and Big the Cat’s play style could be a bit more intuitive.
Also, the other characters could really use more levels. Who just wants to play as Sonic? And, it could be based on the DX port that adds Metal Sonic, and we could maybe get a playable Tikal backstory?

Sacrifice is important if we have to achieve our goals, because we have to sacrifice stuff in order to get something in return, like time, money, our sins, etc.
Most of the times, it won't go that far to sacrifice our lives, but in some cases it might be worth it in the end. And I appreciate sonic team for making this story, even if they could completely ditched it, and I'm glad they put that story in.
The story itself isn't very complex, it's a simple story, but it's quite a great one considering it made a lasting impact on people, including myself and how it's very emotional. And I'm glad they never brought gamma back, despite being a favorite of people, because it will defeat the purpose of their arc if he's brought back to life. And side effect is having omega, but that's something that I can deal with
And this is why simple and to the point beats a complex story, a complex story might give a bigger payput if everything makes sense, but it can easily go badly and not understand the message. But with a simple story, you get the message directly and effectively.

Hey there! Thanks for watching. Yeah, sacrifice is an important life lesson. One thing I definitely wanted to tell people through a video.
I also think that it was best for Gamma to stay in SA1 and not reappear in other games.

Some might argue that Chaos Gamma counts as him returning, but from what I recall they are nothing alike in terms of personality, and besides I think C Gamma also died by the end of the game he was in.

  • @Supersonicblue1027

His story was always definitely the best one in adventure a robot who learned obtained a soul and through meeting the flicky inside him's sibling allowed him to form a bond with the flicky inside him and in doing so he made the ultimate sacrifice of destroying his entire robot line so the world would never know their terror and the flickies could be free. only for in the end to destroy himself so his flicky could go home in a way I'm pretty sure that flicky's siblings considered Gamma apart of the family at that point which makes it sadder.
However the lesson is beautiful cause everyone has to sacrifice something, pride, relationships, people, etc... but in his case it was his existence however in the end he wasn't scared about what would happen to him after he was gone unlike us organic beings because knowing that the ones he was fighting would be okay and free was enough and I personally think that was apart of the lesson of his story that we all have to sacrifice something at some point in life and that when that time is we shouldn't be scared to do it just like Gamma which I think is beautiful.
Beautiful lesson aside, I swear I can always hear parts of flicky island's theme in his theme especially when I went to the cape again last year and we rented a nicer place where I found adventure 1 but the DX version for the GameCube in the basement and replayed it which if I'm not just hearing thing makes his theme really encapsulate his story and lesson a sad theme for a forgotten hero but filled with hope and nods of theme pertaining to what he left behind.

You did a very good job at showing the depth of the E-102 Gamma character arc. I really like the fact that it is a robot that undergoes the arc of understanding the value of sacrifice. We would initially think that because he is a machine, that what he does and who he is begins and ends with whatever command Eggman gives him. However, his personality grows from seeing how Eggman treats his robots versus how Amy is treating the bird. Many of us like to think we already know everything about who we are but moments where we are torn between what we are doing and what we should be doing are where our personality really forms.
‘Were the ends of a person already explicit, there would be no room for development, for growth, for life; and consequently there would be no personality.’

While I do agree that Gamma made a sacrifice, he did not sacrifice loyalty. And I hope people don't get it in their heads that sacrificing loyalty is ever a good thing. When you sacrifice loyalty, you betray that other person. It is a selfish and vile act. Basically think what you're going through, when your wife divorces you to chase butterflies, when you know you've made sacrifices and dedicated your entire existence to her, her happiness and being the good husband she said she wants. Gamma, did betray Eggman, but his loyalty was nothing more than unwilling servitude. Not genuine voluntary loyalty. As he says "MASTER registry deleted". Gamma was not loyal, he never had that choice. I would say what he was, but TH-cam doesn't like that word since it became woke and more than happy to delete comments based on certain words.

    • @TheEternalSamurai
      @TheEternalSamurai  ปีที่แล้ว +2

You do make a really good point there.
It all depends on the context.
If you’re being loyal to someone for bad intentions, then yes, it should be sacrificed.
But if your loyalty to someone comes from an act of love and well being, then why would you want to sacrifice that?
It’s all about the context at the end of the day. Thanks for bringing that up

No, he'd be unneeded. What would he do after sa1? Nothing, because he has no reason to be there. His ending was so impactful because he sacrificed his life for the flicky powering him.
