You should bake those chicken skins with salt and pepper in a 400 degree oven until they are crispy. I bake mine on a wire rack inside a cookie sheet . They are delicious
You should reach out to kitchen aid warranty. For the issue of it not turning off. It was cheaper to send mine in for repair to them then to buy a new one. They send you all the shipping materials needed super easy process.
