Great video about time to someone took up the sub 12 rifle and show how to take it apart and reassembled it thank you great work, learnt a lot from your video as I have the impact myself Mk2 in .22 i’ve had it harmonic tuned to the inch of its life absolutely love it
Thanks, not to may people show the sub 12 stuff so I saw a bit of an opportunity, the impacts are great fun to play around with and its nice when you finally nail it and get it shooting just right. Thanks for watching.
Hello Geoff just watched both videos on disassembly and reassembly, great videos I have a later m3 which has a front barrel support tensioner installed which has two m6 socket head screws which pinch up to support the front of the barrel I noticed there's a bit of movement on the barrel after one of the m6 bolts had fallen out of the tensioner. I put it back in place but there's still movement in the barrel which is throwing my zero out There are a couple of o rings in the front support tensioner which must have warn out or flat spotted due to one of the bolts falling out . could you please let me know if these can be replaced and if so what size they would be I like to repair rather than replace as a new barrel front support tensioner is around fifty pounds with delivery many thanks Shaun
On the front valve adjuster is that an O ring located just below the nut, if so what internal diameter did you make the cap in order to be a friction fit.
Thanks, The tuning vids will be on the way when things start opening back up and I can properly test them at a range, so hopefully within the next month or so. Thanks for watching.
Awesome video man this video is by far one of the best detailed videos I have ever watch about how to make your fx impact way better then just stock thanks for sharing 👍 the only thing I have done to my fx impact mk2 25 cal 700mm is installed the slug kit and polishes all the internal parts i am glad I ran into this channel very helpful information thanks again bsafe

Big fan of your work here. You are helping a lot. Can you please show the complete process of polishing the top surfaces of regulator piston and adjuster screw?
Hi Geoff, just rewatched this video as I’ve bought an M4 and wanted to remind myself of the differences to the M3. I’m sure you’ll be buying the M4 and look forward to seeing your review of it. Would really appreciate a tuning video for it (don’t think you ever got around to one for the M3 but, I may have missed it)
They said that they reoriented the safety switch so that it doesn't get moved inadvertently to safe while cocking the gun, especially during speed contests as one's fingers could rake it into the safe position in a fast action cocking motion. I really appreciate your insights to small details and improvements.
Interesting, I had not read that, makes sense though and I do prefer it round this way, not so much for speed shooting but the original safety dug into my hand when holding the rifle normally. No problem I like making them, its nice to hear people are enjoying them. Thanks for watching.
WWE have shortened the trigger spring and installed thin plastic washers to take the side to side slop in the trigger sear,. Makes a much nicer and easier to adjust trigger,,. Fantastic tricks with the valve rod guides!! We need some for ours😀,,. Can they be found on eBay? Thanks Len and Teresa
Good stuff, last week I started playing around with the trigger sear spacers, but I have not had a chance to properly try them out yet, but its good to hear you have had good results. The guides have to be made to fit the spring and hammer so I can't just make them nominal sizes unfortunately, they have to be fitted so I don't sell them on eBay. Thanks for watching 👍👍

Great video cheers. Is there much improvement to changing the valve adjuster on a sub 12?? I after getting as consistent as possible so will just help by adding an FAC valve system onto my MK2 sub12??
No the FAC adjuster won't go low enough for sub 12 use, the standard one is adjustable, but it has a AT cover over it, if you take the cover off there is a Allen grub screw in the body of the valve adjuster, and you can adjust it just like the FAC one, its very sensitive on the Sub 12 rifles though so be careful. But you should be able to get it super consistent by spending a few hours tweaking things to get them working right.
Can you tell me then is the bottle pressure gauge the same fitment as the other Wika gauges, as the other don’t have the brass washer? Great video’s 👍🏻
Yep its just a 1/8 bsp thread the same as the Wika gauges, the bass washer its just to help align the gauge so its up the right way. Thanks for watching.
Hi, I have been enjoying your videos. I was attempting to remove the M3 shroud from the barrel by twisting and it unscrewed from the breech end. I removed the barrel/shroud from the rifle but cant seem to unscrew the shroud from the barrel. How can I safely grip the barrel to untwist the shroud? Thanks
The way I do it is put the stainless steel section (the silver part between the brass transfer port and the black tube) of the barrel in a vice with some softjaws or wrap it in aluminum/ brass thin sheet and then undo it, the other way depending on how tight it is, is put it back in the rifle and re tighten the barrel clamp grub screw and try undoing the shroud, I have never seen a shroud glued on so its probably just a little tight. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely fantastic video, however I wouldn’t have the bottle to do it, I have a MK2 and until recently was brilliant and then all of a sudden the power dropped to between 6 and 8 lb, ive took it to a reputable gun shop and he’s said it needs to be sent to the British importer ( Sportsman ) because it could be something to do with the regulator, could you tell me if this is a common problem and why it’s just happened all of a sudden or in your opinion it could be something else, the only thing I’ve done is change the barrel from .177 to .22 I’ve checked the muzzle o rings and all was fine, any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated, I’m at my wits end now, all I seem to be doing is throwing money at it, regards Tony.
Unfortunately there are loads of things that could be wrong, and if you are not confident working on it you may be better off sending it back, but ill give a little list of simple things to lookout for: 1. make sure you have the right pellet weight in the chronograph, if you are using slugs then the power will drop dramatically, I personally don't recommend slugs for sub 12 use. I don't know what ammo you are using but I would recommend if you aren't already trying some standard JSB exact pellets, (15.89gn for .22) (8.44gn for .177) head size is not important, some pellets are much less efficient and will be throwing your readings off. 2. reg pressure is normally around 45-55 for sub 12 guns sometimes a little higher or little lower, but around this number. Check this in the rear gauge next to the butt, if its significantly higher 70+ bar that may be your problem, the reg may have let go and not be sealing correctly, or its been adjusted poorly, I do have a number of rebuild and adjustment videos on the AMP reg on the channel so have a look at them, although your rifle may be fitted with an anti tamper, so it may not (without removing the AT) be possible to re adjust your regulator. 3. if the drop in power happens as a direct result of the barrel change you may have to increase the hammer spring, this is the little adjuster in the side of the rifle next to the power wheel, using a 1.5mm allen key. Clockwise should give you more power, anti clock wise should give you less. 4. I think you have done this but double check everything is tight, the barrel is fully back, locked in the pin, and that the pellet probe is tight, and has not come loose. Sorry I cannot be of more help, the regulators do sometimes go wrong and do cause problems but they normally just fill to bottle pressure when they let go, Sportsman do have a good reputation and can normally fix the problem, so if you are not confident you may have little choice but to send it to them. Thanks for watching and good luck fixing the problem.
@@sub12airgunners thanks getting back to me, I’ve tried all of your suggestions to no avail which leads me to the conclusion it must be the regulator but surely after not 1000 pellets through it, it can fail.
yep its the same just with a small brass collar on the valve in the bottle, FX has just released a vid showing it off, if you want more info. Thanks for watching.

The adjustibility of the FAC version interests me. Maybe I should go rogue, get the unlimited version and just cap it myself. Maybe you have some ideas what you would do to limit it yourself?
Honestly the only thing I want is the thumb wheel hammer spring adjuster for the sub 12 models, other parts such as the enlarged plenum would be bad for the sub 12, and the valve adjuster on the front is not needed as the standard one has the required adjustment once you take the AT cover off, its just a Allen bolt inside, so its only really the hammer spring adjuster that would be a nice upgrade, that being said I understand your frustration and its one I share, they should have given the sub 12 or European models a little bonus to cover the missing parts, I would have loved to see a digital gauge or the Chrono mount as a little compensation for the sub 12 models. but there you go, not much we can really do unfortunately. Thanks for watching.
Could you put up a video on your polishing? Teresa and I are goin to tear our impacts down and do a cleaning and polish and assemble with stainless screws,, Thanks Len,, real enjoy your videos
Honestly its super boring, the polishing takes a long time and its not a video friendly subject, I will however give a little advise, I started out stripping the black off my block using a warm 2% caustic soda solution (use some rubber gloves and a tooth brush to scrub the anodizing you don't want to disolve any material, otherwise the trigger pins my get loose), then once the outer layer of black anodizing was removed, I started off with 800 grit wet or dry paper on a surface plate and worked through the grades, I found it easiest to do one grade then do the next grade of paper at 90 degrees to the previous, once you can't see any of the perpendicular scratches you can move to the next grade then finished off at 2000, after 2000 I buffed the whole block using a Dremel and some metal polish then in my case I re-anodized the block. I will say its one of those jobs that you can scrap a block with, and its not something I would recommend unless you really want to do it. But if you do it, good luck. Thanks for watching.
