A decade later and I am still impressed by this outstanding piece of art. The world has changed so much since we first experienced this, but the beauty is still so beautiful. Thank you for being.

No one else in my family seems to enjoy music without lyrics, but the poetry in the rhythms here is just beautiful. It's the perfect song for a band named Wintergatan; I feel like I can see the stars moving across the sky every time I listen.

People who need vocals in their music to enjoy it are the most boring normies man. They don't even truly enjoy music. They use it as a form of socialization or self identifications. Like the old biker dudes who only listen to Metallica and ACDC etc. It's just a form of preserving their self image. Really annoys me.

Just for fun try to spot all *7* non-electronic instruments played in this video?
    Don't cheat!...Watch & listen closely then check below :)
With the electronic gear this is a magical combo called folktronica.
Answers: Evelina plays lots of beautiful grand piano (spot it at 1:27, 1:43, 1:59, 2:06, 3:26, 3:40), there are two different glockenspiels (David is playing one just out of frame at 0:20 & 2:40 (3:15 shows it), then Martin from 0:53, 1:14 etc), lots of accordian as backing chord layers from the beginning (0:23, 0:36 etc) & melody (1:21, 1:45 etc), percussion on the table (0:44), drumkit throughout and the one-of-a-kind wind-up music box (0:02 & 2:25) which Evelina has to play at just the right speed.
So for all those saying this is mostly electronic, just for interest it's close but there is more acoustic content than electronic with at least 2 to 3 of the 4 band members playing acoustically during most (but not all) of this and that's pretty impressive.

I've been following Wintergaten Wednesday since 2017. This music has inspired me. I shared an online concert of your music with my wife as a date one night. It was magical. She and I loved the atmosphere that was brought into our little apartment here in the Salt Lake Valley here in Utah, USA.
When I get depressed or just feeling down, I hop online and listen to your music, usually on Pandora and sometimes youtube like now.
I was excited to learn about Martin contacting SKF to learn about the products that we create there.
I just want to express my gratitude for all your hard work and creativity on the music as well as the marble machines. And all your failures and successes with the marble machines.
Much learning was done there. To me, there were no failures, but more learning opportunities were realized.

These guys are absolute proof that music doesn't require lyrics to be amazing. Don't get me wrong, i like some of the classical music, but they take modern music and classical, throw a couple machines together and create wonderous music

You guys write some of the most beautiful transitions and bridges to your prog rock. Im absolutely blown away. Been watching updates to the marble machine over the past couple of years then stumbled across this in 2020.
I think you guys should give the band thing another go. The accordion, musicbox, bells harmonics, and synthesizer combo is unreal..
Wow Wintergatan wow.. Blessed Sweden.. Thank you.

Thank you. All of you. If any of you ever read this. Had someone told me a year ago, two years ago, that I would sit here and listen to this song as much as I do, and feeling the things I do, I would have called them crazy.
For about 30 years that I can remember I have been listening to music dominated, defined by lyrics, despite being very much a more rhythmic person. Dominated by guitars in the same way, and steady rock/metal beats that plainly support with the little spice of some fill ins here and there. Very much in contrast to the variability in this piece alone. From the high pitches of the Glockenspiel to the zooming bass of the synths and bass drum, and everything in between... seeing the recordings of your live shows really makes me hope I can see this for real one day, your portfolio of songs, instruments and the way you play them is so far detached from what I ever have seen... and so close to what I always have dreamt of doing myself...
This band is absolutely crazy in a most certainly positive way. Drawing in with so many details like this insane audible and visual drop at 3:25 - I did not see this coming, it blew me away when I first saw it, and the music takes me to different places to this day. Thank you for touching me in a way that this genre of music, if anything even ever came close to this, never could. You, all of you, are clearly gifted. And many things that I see and hear are things I wish for myself, the skills that you have, on and off stage, the dedication and the attention to detail.. did I mention the skills?
Stay awesome and best wishes to all of you and your loved ones.

I was blown away 10 years ago. And I'm still blown away. When I was a kid I tried to imagine what music of the future would sound like. But it is impossible to do so, because the instruments aren't invented yet. The modulin IS one of those instruments. I knew immediately this was the future sound I was expecting as a child.
Imagine 1000 years ago trying to imagine the sound of future music, it would be impossible because the instruments weren't invented yet. Saxophone, clarinets and modern brass instruments didn't exist let alone anything electric powered.
