It's melancholy, it's bittersweet. Yet somehow, as the song progresses, you repeat that exact leitmotif, but make it sound more hopeful, and eventually triumphant. I ask myself every time I hear this song: "How did he do that??" That's what I want to learn how to do. You are a musical genius, and I can only hope to be even half as good as you. I actually wonder if there is any way I could get the sheet music for this song. I'd love to learn how to play it on piano, and I would even want to send you my cover if I get good enough. Its crazy to comeback and rewatch some of these older music videos you guys did back a little over a decade ago. I remember several years ago when I first watched these and the music is just as fantastic now as it was then. But what's made me had a deeper appreciation for these videos is the behind the scenes footage they left at the end of each video. I recall a late teen adult thinking it was so cool getting to see these sneak peaks, but i think I have an even bigger appreciation for them now as I now better understand all the time spent to create art, from making these instruments like the iconic original music box and the Modulin, to Martin translating the notes from the computer program and marking and manually punching out each and every note, to even show the process of designing the stop motion animations for these videos. I do hope that one day, these kinds of music videos return with or without a marble machine, since these slice of life snippets at the end are also art and a treasure in it of itself.

Let me tell you how this track affects me: I cry even when I think about it. To me, it's a masterpiece. How can it be so full of life but also of sadness? I feel like life is so celebrated when I hear this. It climbs up so smoothly to solos in the end and the climactic drum break. There are very few songs that I feel I need to have on my funeral. This is the one. It's pure joy, sadness, all in one. This is what makes life worth living.

These guys are so far ahead of their time... Absolutely musical /artistic /engineering / creative geniuses. They even exhibited a successful social distancing collaboration long before the earth needed it. These are exemplars of what humans are capable of... If humans were to try just a bit harder to do things right. Even if it requires putting an angle grinder to the Mona Lisa to fix it.

I come back to this video regularly....yeah I love the tune, but the part I really love is the montage of Martin creating the music box.....just the amount of time and trouble it takes to create music from a strip of punched paper....it makes me smile because there is still hope for humanity as long as there is still someone doing that...it’s pure magic
