    I'm in Canada I like the design just not sure about 3 ft snow

      I have to agree Garrett, that's a lot of weight. Maybe use 1" pvc and add some cross pieces. I'd also put a poly tarp over the boat cover to help the snow slide off more easily.

    I am Impressed. I plan on coping Jerry's DIY. One suggestion for myself and others. When cutting the lengths, use a pvc pipe cutter. They work great and you carry them in your pocket when your making final adjustments to pipe lengths. Will save you from climbing up down a few times. Don't for get to have some sand paper with you.

      Thanks for watching Tomas and great suggestions! Only one caution be careful if you're gluing the fittings to the pipe, be sure to have some protection on the deck for any drips you may have.

    This is a good idea, thanks for the video sir. I want to build a shelter over ours, but I just had to come out of pocket for my daughters braces. I guess I'm about to make this setup for ours to use until I build the shelter because it's got covers on the seats, but it's been without a main cover since last summer & the floor gets full of tree debris. It's not under trees, but near trees. Keeping it cleaned out is exhausting. By the time I get the boat cleaned up, I don't even wanna take it out anymore lol😅.

    Great job. Just used this for our pontoon. Going to try some pool noodles to the PVC for wear and tear.

      Thanks Greg, it held up really well through this past winter but to be honest we didn't get much snow this year. If we have a winter with more snow I may cover the whole thing with a regular tarp giving it more strength and I'm thinking the snow may slide off of it better.

  • @sharlenegervaise6614

    I love this idea. How did it do over the winter. Living in upstate New York we can have lots of snow.

    • @wanderingjerry
      @wanderingjerry  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It did great Sharlene, my easiest winter ever boat cover-wise. We don't typically get much snow here, just a few 4 to 8 inch storms. With more severe winters like you have I would consider adding more cross pieces. I've been thinking that if I'm expecting a larger snowfall I would add a tarp over the boat cover as it seems the snow would slide off of the "plastic" tarp easier than the "fabric" boat cover.
