      @@cilinegunness9487 I live in India here i am receving treatment in on of the cancers hospitals named Medanta..they have multiple hospitals in various cities just tell your relative to search for the nearest one to their location as it will be comfortable for them due to covid19 situation and also they can be near their home as hospitals stays are risky for infection my oncologist tells me to be here only when required..hope they recover soon keep them in prayers

    I've been taking dasatinib for my ALL, on day 27 now, my dr said I will start on the iv chemo soon. So far i haven't noticed any major side effects but I have family insisting that i need to be in their care

      I'm at the final of treatment,i have only 3 days and i finish it. No,he don t come back everytime,only in 35% of causes,that depend of your type or others factors
      But i know persons who win the battle with ALL and the cancer never come back

      I’ve just began my chemo for t-All and So far I’ve not had extreme side effects, just wondering which part you found hardest and which was the harshest part for you ? Also did you lose your eyebrows and eyelashes ?

      I know this is a very late reply but for me personally, the harshest was induction & consolidation & the prophylaxis of CNS during Maintenance . Of course every case is different depending on the subtype of ALL, what treatment protocol you're on & if any complications occur. Don't know if you're in the consolidation phase now but hope you are doing well

      I just started my consolidation. Induction was the hardest for me. However, let’s see in the coming days. My doctor said that Day 34 would be the day that patients would usually get so weak.

    I’m a little bit confused… so let’s say someone is in a complete remission for 2 years today. Are chemoteraphy cycles included in maintenance after CR? or does the maintenance start after all the chemotherapy cycles are finished and patient starts to be on pill chemotherapy?
    I just don’t understand if the 2 years maintenance starts after chemotherapy cycles or after someone is considered to be in CR.

    thank you very much , i have a question please , i have to present a study about mercaptopurine as maintenance therapy for ALL , but I still dont understand what does mercaptopurine do to prevent relapse ?? it is an immunosuppressent , so why it is used for the treatment of ALL ??

      Mercaptopurine is a purine synthesis inhibitor -> inhibits DNA synthesis -> inhibits DNA replication -> inhibits cell division.

    1:54 sorry i might not be understanding this correctly...if chemo CAN NOT penetrate CNS or testes, why do we still need to give prophylaxis??? Its not going to these regions anyways@@....

      They give chemo directly into the CNS by giving it intrathecally when they do the lumbar puncture to see if there are any cancerous cells there at the same time. And testes are generally irradiated rather than treated with chemo I believe.

      @@liuoyt9857 the usual systemic IV/oral chemo cannot penetrate CNS, but unfortunately the CNS is a very common area for the ALL to relapse into. Because of that, it's really important to put lots of prophylactic chemo directly there. Most commonly they use methotrexate which is a dihydrofolate reductase inhibitor.
