I’m sure Matt realizes because he’s a Vet. Removing the arrow may kill her. Tranquilizers are a risk she may not survive. The arrow may be holding vessels closed. If you do catcher her to remove the arrow, definitely use a tubing cutter. Because it will fold the edges in at the cut. You can pull it out without causing any major bleeding or further damage.
That's going to depend on if the wound has already healed around the shaft of the arrow and formed new pathways around it. If it has pulling it out could tear any new blood vessels or tissue that's stuck to it. It may be easier to just cut it and then close the wound around the imbedded shaft.

I hadn't put much thought into it, but is it even possible to do that? Assuming they find it again, if they catch it, it might struggle and aggravate the injury. If they drug it, it may fall badly or lose its faculties enough to not mind how it moves it's head and once again, aggravate the injury. I get why u ask that question I just find it kinda funny a veterinarian asking for advice from a bunch of random people on the internet
Sad to see off the ranch go. Keep up the good work! Love the channel! You need to tranq her and take her to a good vet. I think you may know of one. Hahaha
Let me just go down to the tranquilizer store that every town has....oh wait.
He is a vet
@@snowballil3133 first off, duh...secondly, so?
@bobsaget9675 so he doesn't have to go to a "tranq store" he literally owns a vet clinic lol
@@snowballil3133so what my girlfriend's a veterinarian too and she doesn't possess or have anything to get that done you would need a special tranquilizer gun that shoots it from long distances, and 99.9 % of domestic vets don't have the right stuff for it and never will yall watch WAY too many MOVIES
Your a vet!! Trank that girl and get your skills going ❤
I agree with most everyone else on here, save her and make a video about it. ❤
I found an old real estate listing and some news articles about the house fire then found it on Google Maps when you bought it. Didn't need no sign to track it down!
Dude, you're a vet. I watch you because you're awesome. It deserves a chance after living like that
I thought this was a vet ranch video at first! That’s crazy!
I love that everyone thinks vets just roll around with a tranquilizer kit 24/7
Yeah, but it's Matt we're talking about.
I'm sure he would love the excuse to buy another rifle.
We don't think he has one but we assume he has access to one and we know for a fact he has access to the medicine required.
It would come in handy if Black Friday gets out of hand😂
Yeah that's kind of a silly thought isn't it but I'm pretty sure he could get one very easily like going to the clinic and picking one up I know they have one
Is it really that far fetched to think Matt has one?
Its crazy to see how much matt has aged. He is like 7 months younger than i am and full of gray. shows you how stressful a busy life can be. but he is still killin it.
It may just be genetic, doesn't necessarily mean he's super stressed all the time. Yeah stress can contribute to grey hair but genetics are way more of a factor.
Matt you’re a vet. Please catch her without hurting her and / or put her on veterinary anesthesia to perform a surgery to remove that arrow. ❤
I hadn't put much thought into it, but is it even possible to do that? Assuming they find it again, if they catch it, it might struggle and aggravate the injury. If they drug it, it may fall badly or lose its faculties enough to not mind how it moves it's head and once again, aggravate the injury. That's just my layman's thought process, but I genuinely think this is harder than it seems. That's before getting into the whatever the regs in his state are.
@@ettcha I would imagine he would be breaking several laws. I know Axis aren't game animals in Texas but still drugging transporting holding the animal might be a no no
I don’t think he’s actually been a vet for awhile now. I’d imagine there I licenses you have to maintain to practice. He’d probably have to get another vet to do it.
@@J_McPhearsom He still owns the vet clinic and has kept his license up to date.
@@paintwaster1 Being a vet, he could easily get the permission to dart it and transport it, he might even already have the right to do it just being a vet.
You should talk to your local game warden or the Texas Fiah and Wildlife department (whoever this situation falls to). Ask them if you are legally allowed to capture and tend to her injuries if you believe you can help her without putting her down. We believe in you Matt. (I completely forgot you were a vet btw 😅)
Theres probably some details I don't know but just try your best and go with whats best for the animal.
You are the Vet. If you say she is not suffering I defer to your expertise.
I think you should look up outdoor kitchens for campsites For what you're talking about putting the campers for by the river In custom canopies Gazebos
She looks healthy, so harvest it and feed your friends and family. My first thought was tranq and opp like most comments are saying, but that would be putting it through more stress and will probably kill it. 100% though, you can't leave it like that she will get caught in something or snag it and suffer. Good luck 👍🏻
I didn’t realize there were so many vegans that follow Matt’s channel.
Call the game warden, they’ll tell you to put it down or come put it down themselves.
Maybe they’ll say “it’s a wild animal if it’s fine leave it alone.”
I’d say put it down. It’s an animal not just entertainment…. You put an animal down that’s seriously injured not try and save it for views.
Heartless
@@Joshua-jk1pnMatt got a lot of people to leave comments about this, milking the algorithm. That's all this is about: content.
Matt everyone knows you’re a vet I’m not, but I think If you tranquillize her, when she goes down on her side she will cause the arrow to move, and possibly kill her. I’m sure you will consider all the risks and act in her best interest. Whatever you decide it will be the right thing.
Not really near any vitals I’m sure she smacks it off stuff constantly
I hadn't thought of that, interesting point to consider.
They don't go down immediately. As long as you don't chase her, she'll probably run a short way and lay down.
This👆
@@cyblue2846I would put my trust in the vet. Not your words.
Super pearl up! And after you do start a yearly dump truck race on the ranch! Out there in Texas everyone wants to show off there dump trucks!
YES tranquilize it and save it Matt.
Do some veterinarian stuff maybe to get it out if you can
Does it yell "shark attack!"? Haha
That is fricken hilarious 😂
That could be you’re best start for the resort. Go ahead and start setting up RV pads and hookups. It’ll be a lot cheaper than the cabins and can use the profits off that to fund the cabins
IT IS A WILD ANIMAL!! For everyone saying "YOU'RE A VET, TRANQ IT, FIX IT, YOU'RE A VET!!!" Yes, he is a vet, for Fido and Fluffy, not Bambi. It's like asking the stonemason to do carpentry. Don't be mad at Matt if it's simply too far out of his comfort level for him to do anything.
Use your veterinarian skills, maybe get your dad and sister involved and trank it to see if you could save her. It may be that any significant impact to the arrow will cause her more problems and death.
We all want to see you fix her up brother. Do right by that baby. She's tough. She just needs a little help. Love you brother. Love the channel.
VET RANCH + OFF RANCHuhh.... Matt Colab! OG Get together!
Save her MATT !!! 😊
Interesting new channel name, I was partial to OffTheRanch for the nostalgia but if this helps the channel then I’m all for it!
Definitely wasn’t expecting this one
Nostalgia? There's a difference between something being nostalgic and just not being a fan of change.
I wouldve gone With : Dr. Demo & the Carricker Crew. then do a 90's hip-hop ensemble with mere and the kids for the theme music/ opening credits
Straight off the ranch, crazy motherfucker named Dr. Demo
From the gang called Carrickers With Attitude....
I was going to say several comments in and no one mentioned the name change.
@@2BigFooted did you not read the second part of my comment? Yes I liked the OffTheRanch name but if Matt feels like a change is needed for the channel then sure, its his channel, I’ll still watch even if its just called “TH-cam Channel Number Two”
careful matt, your Vet side will conflict with your Demolition side and you'll go grey faster.
His demolitia side want him to shoot it. With a tranquilliser gun
You are a Vet Matt..... Tranquilize her, and fix her up!
This looks like Spam! Matt usually responds directly on here, or in PM. Weird!
Tranq her, scoop her, vet her, film her!
Everyone is out here saying "but you're a vet Matt",,, which would be cool if he can, but, you have to also remember Matt is a great shot.. either way(one obviously preferred over the other), im sure matt will do his best to stop any suffering if it occurs..
Everyone saying do your vet thing doesn’t understand, removing it might make the injury worse. Could kill her among many other possibilities
Yeah because they're either big city liberal idiots or just acting on emotions and not thinking clearly.
Very true
Damn thing can’t spell no better than I can Smart, phone my ass🥱
Looks healthy and thriving!
Be a neat vet ranch episode to catch and fix her up!
She seems healthy, miraculously. If she can be tranquilised, could you and Dad help her surgically without doing more damage? (Human nurse thoughts) xxxxx
You're a vet. I think she has earned a saving. ❤
~those Christmas's led canons that shoot colorful rotating lights would call attention on that white canvas :P
pretty shore there is some solar powered cheep option somewhere that you can select the colors... like... only red and green or wherever...
You’re a vet dude, use a tranquilizer and fix her
As everyone else has stated, you're a vet, bro. Either you or your team should tranq it, remove it, and rehab it, then turn it back with the others
A vote should not be necessary. The decision should be yours, period.
I've had a whitetail 4 pointer that had on an arrow through its head.
Seen him the next year same stand he was a nice 6 pointer with 2 nice scar beside his upper lip but other than that , the arrow was gone and I never got a chance to hunt that stand again. It's nice to get to watch them grow-up and not take them when they are young.
