Refreshing to see someone acknowledging that on occasions it could be the user which may cause indirect damage to their tent with pitching etc, but was excellent customer services from Nortent. Really enjoyed your previous video and this one explaining what had happened fella. New subscriber here mate. Marc.
I’ve noticed on quite a lot of videos on the Vern 1 that people put the shorter blue pole in last which means it crosses over the 2 longer black poles. Nortent say on their own video that the blue pole should go in first. The longer black poles then cross over the blue pole. Whether this makes any difference to the overall strength I don’t know. I pitch my Vern 1 blue pole first and have had no problems but also I have never been out in more than 30mph winds.
@@2wheeledoap993 I have now experienced both methods and find doing the middle over the top of the longer black poles the best for me 👍🏻 I suppose it’s all about finding these things out isn’t it! Thankyou for watching and commenting! 👌🏻
Awsome buddy, glad to hear you got the deserved customer service from the lovely folk at Nortent. I had a few back/forth emails with Leif regarding My Vern 1 after purchase and he was sound! 👌 Plus, you can now double pole when your up in the hills bud. Keep up with the great content pal. 👍
I have this tent, i love mine. Nortent also sent me an updated set of tge new poles free of charge. Ive not had any issues with my current ones yet though. Fantastic customer service and they do seem to listen to peoples suggestions on improvements. Because of Goingsolos vid they are now offering to seam seal the Nortent Ly1 free of charge if u buy from them. Brill company, Atb paul
@@thatunfitbloke Yeah they’re great. I already had the 9.5mm poles and those are the ones in the video that have bent, but thankfully a whole new set of all 3 poles were sent out to me 🕺🏻 Great customer service 👏🏻

At least it was only a pole and not a fabric tear of any kind. Good on Nortent 👌 I fancy the PC version of this tent ... a bit pricey tho 😮 Catch ya next week 👍
I've got the PC and with the upgraded poles is a beast. So quiet in the wind too.. Amazing bit of kit.. To be honest the smaller poles held up fine in some gusts up to 50mph. Think the PC fabric adds to the strength
@@hedleythorne So I've had it put in lots of conditions, most it deals with brilliantly.. First the pros, Easy to set up, Truly free standing Extremely quiet in he wind. Very robust. Climate control is brilliant, warm in cold and cool in sun. Very versitile with such a huge vestibule. Cons. Weight and bulk, it is what it is. Single skin, so it handles the climate well including condensation. In non extreme weather it will breathe well and just leave like a film on the inside.. It can flight transfer into your bag but not to the point I'd say it was damp. I heavy clag, very cold and still conditions then it's more noticeable. In clag it still creates the same barrier, however if you touch it the barrier can be broken avd it will take a few wipes until it's Resealed and stops running. Overall I kept this because I love it.. I find I grab it as often as I can and it's my go to tent when the weather is horrible or I want a really good night's sleep. It just a bit special.. So in conclusion. 80 percent of the time condensation doesn't come into it. If it does I dont care.. I wipe it down in the morning and get on with it. I find it easier on multi dayers than taking out the inner if it's soaked and don't have time to dry. Oh and it dries out pretty quickly in the sun. Just have to know the limits of it, and be prepared to carry it.

Why do you set up camp in the most vulnerable places? I see that on all youtube clips from your areas?? Here in Norway we set up tents where it is the best situation at the moment. The British seem to make a sport of looking for a place where they have the most wind for a night... 🍿🍿🍿
@@TomBlanto Just the thrill of being out in the elements 🤷🏼♂️ and on this particular camp I wasn’t storm chasing, the wind just happened to be nightmare and I got caught out! Love it all the same though
