Is the KTM 390 Duke Really 'Ready to Race'?

- We've tested this bike before but never quite like this. KTM boasts that their bikes are 'Ready to Race' but is this actually true? Don recruits someone faster than him to find out and the results are quite spectacular.

Great video. Had me laughing. Cool office too, with a go-kart track right outside! I really want the new 390 Duke for my next bike. Last bike was a GSX-R600, but since most of my riding will be around town commuting, I reckon a 390 Duke will be more than enough for my needs!
guys, does this bike have different throttle response maps, since it's throttle by wire, to change the way it responds to your wrist? The honda have like 3 maps...

Best new Duke 390 review.......but what about the headlight recall?
The Head light issue is fixed with a software update
Honda has a crankshaft recall on their 300s, id think headlights are a small issue. If it's already a recall, no worries about it for newer bikes.

stickybugs05 KTM deliberately positioned the foot pegs in a higher up. They knew that people are gonna corner this bike.
yeah, looks a bit that way. So you could do either just about, hang off and drag knee or sit up top and lean it in?

in my county, this bike is the equivalent of 125,000 rand, and ironically the cbr600rr is about 84k so why get a duke?

Problem is that the new duke is slower than the older 2016 duke. Why does no one talk a little that?! Can a Ecu reflash or a tuning map get back the lost performance?

My dream bike...
Ready to Last Over 10,000 miles? I really want one of these, but the longevity worries me. The Made in India part doesn't; they're not in any way the only manufacturer doing it. But when I read about engines letting go and little issues that shouldn't happen to new bikes, I get scared off. It's a shame, but I don't have the funds to throw at what should be a decently reliable beginner-friendly bike. I admire KTM for throwing some creativity at a sub-500cc bike whereas I think Hondas are so cookie-cutter, but reliability trumps cool. (I'm willing to be convinced otherwise; I really want one of these. So don't take this as me shitting on this bike. Quite the contrary. It's rather me being so upset that I'm scared to buy a bike I really want.)
My ktm duke lasted longer than all of my friends bikes and i still have done more kilometers on it than all of them. Trust me they are well made.
Hey, do a smooth break in and everything will be fine. If you tend to abuse the engine initially, it will give you problems. KTM is evolving really fast, they address their issues in no time. I just sold my 2012 KTM 200, had clocked 42k Kms, riding anywhere and everywhere I could. So, that bike stayed with me for 5 full years. I feel the present KTM's are much better in all the aspects.You get 2 years warranty as well.
Thomas Crownbuerger ktms aren't the brothal u visit every friday where u find a different hole every time u get thr.. U would have the same standards maintained by KTM all around the globe.

The reliability on these 390 scare a lot of people. KTM warranty only covers the engine, swingarm, and frame........... SCARY

Looks like an awesome bike, but still not entirely convinced on whether to go for the BMW G310R or this one. Have ridden the BMW and quite impressed, but still have to ride the KTM. Little niggles as per other comments worry me a bit. Wonder if the BMW, also built in India, has similar issues?
William Gearing i have a similair opinion but i'd rather nor go with a slower bike. Reliability also on a first year bike gonna be shit.
