Love the good old Red Rattlers, many years I have been riding on this fabulous train, I am sadly disappointed that it is taken off the rails in 1992, I was 23 years old. But, thanks for the bumpy rumbling shaken and noisy train, which I love the most. 👍👍👍👏👏👏🇦🇺

Hi Peter, Agreed, they were certainly enjoyable classics and a real symbol of the good old days. I'm thankful to have ridden and photographed them and am able to share these memories. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Cheers, tassiebaz.

One of my best memories of the Red Rattlers was being thrown about on a [mostly] empty midday service between Central and Strathfield. It felt like the driver was going above the speed limit on dodgy tracks while I was sitting on seats like mini trampolines.

I was a baby when the red rattlers phased out. I only had a bit of memory at the age of 10 riding on the tulloch traliers known to have a wheel on the side of the carriage (don't know which side though). My 1st train to ride on in Sydney was the Tangara up to 2007 and now it's S sets. What interest me the most is the brown rust cross bar pylons between Central to Town Hall. Saw the replacement process between 2002 to 2007 when they were replaced by the new dark grey ones. Miss those good old times.

At 12:20 you'll see a country set coming up the dive from Eveleigh. All my 75 years I've never seen anything use it. It was always a mysterious tunnel to me.
    Stavros, still a boy!

Hi Steve, Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. Guess I was in the right place at the right time. I'm not from the Sydney area or that familiar with the operations there, so I was just lucky. Stay well. Regards, tassiebaz.

that tunnel go across all tracks and end up the other side and going to Waterfall direction. Single bi-directional tunnel. Trains from the country terminal otherwise cannot access.

Was this actually filmed from an H set? The motors, brakes and air compressors sound more like a double deck S set car to me. Classic footage though, love it - Sydney has changed too much for me.

Hi WorldOfTransit, Thanks again for watching. I'm sure the filming was from a single-deck set, not a double decker. I too miss the good old days. Hard to believe it's over 30 years since I took these pictures. Cheers, tassiebaz.

Nice video, brings back memories! Do you have video of the country trains?

      Hi Paul,
Thanks for taking the time to comment on my video. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, I do not have any video of country trains. Please have a look at videos published by "tressteleg1". He may have something that would interest you. Most of the videos I have published and on which I am now working are of trams and trolleybuses worldwide. If you have any interest in that sort of thing, please have a look. Cheers, tassiebaz.

Either the suspension wasn't that good or the track condition was shocking. So much movement

Hi Mitchell, Thanks for watching and for your comment. Probably a bit of both. Also, those older analogue video cameras didn't have as advanced a steady shot as today's. Stay well. Regards, tassiebaz.
