new subciber here, Im impressed that you can disassemble all the components without a manual. Its so entertaining to watch how you can revive broken laptops and doing some modification on it.
Hello sir ........ I just wnated to say thank you as by seeing some of your videos.....I was able to repair my laptop which had stopped working suddenly one day.......and saved myself 1000 rupees, which is around 15 dollars I think..........thank you very much......
What a genius idea !! I had a slightly different specced model with the exact top cover and the exact problem...broken cover at the hinges. I could not discard the laptop because it was my first laptop. Now I know how to restore it. A billion thanks to Andrew.
These videos always put a smile on my face. Spreading good vibes to the world one laptop restoration at a time. Your content inspires on so many levels!
Great job! I highly appreciate the "ruler" screen fix. Wish I had this idea for my 2007 Asus laptop which had a known failed screen plastic (it shattered almost on every machine)
Finally what I have been looking for. Videos with great simple mods and detailed teardowns and can't forget the cleaning too. I searched TH-cam for this kind a of content but couldn't really find just the right stuff. I just love what you do to those laptops\pcs etc. And I really enjoy how you clean everything. I kind a do the same too when cleaning very meticulous. Plus you have all the right tools. Brushes, brushes, brushes and lots of alcohol. Yep!. Keep it up and I will keep watching. Thank You and Stay Safe. from a proud Canadian.
firstly, let me just say dude i actually love your content its like watching ASMR if that makes sense makes me happy and relaxed and its sooooo satisfying I'd like to ask if it's possible to do something more recent model wise? like maybe a Lenovo ThinkPad restoration? they're cheap and well priced and reliability is amazing love the content , keep it coming :)
@@hitmebabyonemoretime7643 Hi bro, the SODIM stands for RAM which is made for Laptops or computers that use the same form factor of RAM. The SO in SODIMM stands for Small Outline, which means these RAMs are smaller. The DIMM stands for Desktop ram and for the standard size. You cannot use standard Side RAM in Laptop or DIMM to SODIMM because cannot fit in the port. But you can use SODIMM in DIMM OR Laptop RAM in Desktop computers but using Converter. I've have tried this but the performances are not really good for many tasks, but in many tests works the same. However, I always recommend to use parts for what are made, If something is for desktop then is good to be used on Desktop. If something is made for laptop than is good to be used on laptop
@@ComputersAndTechAndAndrew thanks bro. I've using and old laptop an Asus U82U. The existing memory is 4gb only and i decided to upgrade to maximum which is 8gb. It's difficult these times to find a ddr3 1333mhz 4gb ram for two slots since ddr3 are nearly obselete. Somehow i found ddr3 rams but 1666mhz and its DIMM. That us why im asking if i could use a DIMM ram on a motherboard that supports an existing SODIMM rams
Agreed with what you said I had MSI need work on was not power up before I go in to the laptop I watch disassembly how take this modal apart best way after watching more one video i can safely take it apart BTW Fix The MSI was not powered up the problem was do to a bad DC Power Cable
Wow, this has been really nostalgic for me. The first laptop I owned was MSI GX600 which has almost identical chassis. The hinges on these laptops broke really easily and in general it was much more fragile than one could expect (for a while I actually did the same thing as you did in the video - switched the hinge brackets to upside down - it helped a lot). In the end I rebuild the whole laptop from scratch using a donor laptop. This basically made me strip it down to each screw and creating one computer out of two. Unexpectedly, it was great fun. Sadly I sold the laptop afterwards, I now wish I kept it.
Thanks for everything man , i really enjoy what are you doing ,hope u see this comment. I do the same as you but in my country (Bulgaria) is not that interesting but i really enjoy to clean and fix stuffs i don't like that everything is going to trash because is broken... if u can fix it why not. Thanks for inspiration i start because of your videos!
Didn't notice if you did, but the next time when you need to glue something I suggest for you to scratch up the surface so the glue would have more grooves to hold onto.

Using a plastic ruler to enforce the broken case is an absolutely genius idea! I didn't expect you'd cover it with vinyl sticker. A pretty cool hack.
That’s unusual to see so many wires and cables in a laptop. It looked like a lot of work to refurbish, so nice work dude!
