I got to see Aretha Franklin live in Memphis in May back when she was cooking. I was upfront about 8 feet from her. Before she started ,she made sure everyone in the back could hear her. I was just blown away by her energy and connection to her fans. She is missed daily

I believe this is my favorite song by the Queen. I have been trying to sing it my whole life. Aretha sisters were her backup singers. They used to perform at the Michigan State Fair in Detroit when I was a kid. My mom always wanted to go to the fair on that day.

My mom loved listening to Aretha a lot. And my dad played piano behind her on several occasions around NYC. That voice takes me to another world.
