Hey, by turn 100 the College of Cardinals was made up of 12 Milanese and one Polish cardinal, so it actually helped me keep control of the College by getting new Cardinals in.
I'm surprised only two guards chased after him. After the commotion, there should be an entire regiment of Swiss Guards and Italian soldiers waiting outside the church. Such a location would ideally be filled with armed soldiers.
