When the supposed Christian kingdoms went to war with each other, it was common to pillage and slaughter the peasantry to feed/pay the army and to rob the other side of a valuable source of taxes. But as for now, Lithuania is quite secular country, only with fragments of 1918 "christian republic" experiment.
