I got the green one with negative display. The visibility is not perfect but I don't have issues reading it and if it's really dark I just use the light function. I like the stealthy double display. Personally I love the design. The watch looks way better in person imo. :)
Instead of this I bought the Casio PRO TREK PRW-3400-1JF which I really like - then got the Mudman fever and went looking in the past - just got a GW-9300CM-1JR to scratch that itch. Great vid as always!!
I bought first the MUDMAN GW-9500-1A4ER with negative display. After a few minutes of testing, I packed the watch back up and immediately returned the watch to the retailer. The negative display is so difficult to read, that the compass cannot be used at all. If you don't hold this Mudman with negative display at a very specific reading angle, it's not usable at all. A day later I ordered the Mudman GW-9500-1 with positive display and have now received it and …I am happy now. What's the matter with you Casio? You produce also negative display watches with STN-LCD (super twisted nematic) which gives a much better contrast (even on solar powered watches) and is so much easier to read in lower light. Why didn’t you implement this display-type in the Mudman? Wouldn't the nice compass animation then have been possible and or would the watch then have become too expensive? I can only advise against buying the Mudman with a negative display. You will regret it...definitely.
I heard that the positive display is still pretty bad, especially when comparing it to other TN displays on other positive display G-Shocks. It's put me off this watch entirely, as a positive display with poorer legibility is unforgivable.
I bought the black version with positive display but returned it 2 days later. It felt kinda cheap and flimsy. I'm sticking with my new black/yellow Rangeman as my EDC G-Shock.
I have a negative square and i think the display is still usable most of time.. IMO you should compare the negative display of this watch to other negative g-shocks, just so we know how bad it really looks Just like you, i like the color, but the negative display is a thing to reconsider
The mud man looks slightly smaller than the 2000. I have wide flat wrists, and the gwg2000 is pretty much as small as I can go, because of the comfort wings.
Unfortunately this doesn't have STN display so it's pretty much impossible to read anything unless it's in perfect light. Anyone who has experienced the negative display Rangeman will know how frustrating that is.
I want like the newer one with google/oxygen sensor on it but for it to be digital AND analog. That would be crazy if they tacked one ontop of the digital display. where its touch screen and you could just your your pointer finger to move the hands out of the way.
@@gshockhighfashion and cost factors. But I don't see all that costing more than a few grand. The Google smartwatch one didn't look laggy or anything? But I have only seen TH-camrs testing it out. I've not seen one in person 😕 haha
I bought the Black one with positive display, but returned it. The contrast was very poor, even though it is a positive display. I am now looking at the Protrek PRW 35 with STN LCD.
got the GWG 1000 and 2000, but seem way better than this one. The analog frog is then NEXT level, have that one also. Nice try Gshock, but I'll keep my money in my pocket.
I use those on my Protreks, GW9400, G9300, and GX56BB. I wish Casio would upgrade to the use of sapphire. Of equal thickness it is superior to mineral crystal for all desired properties. The Important part is of equal thickness to the mineral glass currently used.
Yep, making the watch thinner has definitely make the crystal more susceptible to scratches. If Casio wants to make their G-Shocks thinner, then they better start using a Sapphire Glass crystal as standard.
Your better off with the gbd h2000 liter slightly cheaper more functions best negativity screen I've owned. And i HATE negativity screens old age😢. It has a similar look a little smaller, it is a better over all then that poor design 9500. So disappointing.😖

Fair enough!
Me too bro. Best looking colour way imo.
If I were to buy one, I would only buy the positive display model. Great review and comparison.
This mudman is a good rugged Pro Trek at twice the price 😂
Green with positive display would be amazing 😢
exactly
Interested in this one... But will wait for the positive display
I swear this negative display is a crime against humanity
Maybe they want to build this watch for military use. Especially special force military on special ops who need to be low profile as much as they can
Needed MIP
It certainly is. It’s unfathomable why Casio continue making this awful mistake.
I have 4 G Shocks. Only one has a negative display

Get the positive display and you have a hell of a GShock.

It this negative 9500 was STN lcd it would be a blast 👍
How is it to the Rangeman GPRB1000B. Love mine. But unsure about this.
Gprb uses different type of display. A better one.
Hi gshock HF, have not seen your videos for quite a while. Do you recommend the this GW9500 (positive display) over a Pro Trek PRK 30/35?
No tough solar?
It has tough solar.
I only recognize 9000 line & 9300 as Mudman.
9300 is the best digital g-shock
I prefer the Mudmaster and my Rangeman (GW9400).
Gwg1000-1A3 is still a mudmaster killer
I much prefer the GWG-2000 .
I usually don't mind negative displays but this one is terrible!
Needed MIP

Understandable.

Needed MIP or STN lcd.
Maybe 9510 will be released soon…
That would be great!

It is smaller than the 2000. But feels the same, maybe the weight isn't much different.
It has two scratches already?
Exactly
Im going for the positive display.
Good!
Gshock fan.

Casio definitely able to create all that hardware. But it seems like the problem is on the 'smart' software, they aren't there yet.

SKMEI is getting better
lol

II have prw-35y-1b Black display best Black display ever got, and watch self so da lightweight you don't feel you wearing it👌👌
Casio G-hsock is the toughest digital watch
Thats for sure.
So, so close to buying . . . but the negative display ultimately dissuaded me. It’s not ‘bad’, just not for me.
got the GWG 1000 and 2000, but seem way better than this one. The analog frog is then NEXT level, have that one also. Nice try Gshock, but I'll keep my money in my pocket.
You should grab the GPW-2000 next.
This. Is. The. New. Madman GW. 9500. G. Shock
The only good function negative Display is in the GPR-1000 Rangeman.
Solid pass for me. I see you already have two scratches on the crystal too.🙁
Yep, which is why I recommend anyone buying this watch to get a tempered glass screen protector.
@@StardustLegacyFighterFrom where?

Too bad
15 year G shock guy here. Let’s talk.
No thanks bro. Nothing to say to you.
😎
i see you have two scrathes on the glass. really not good, gshock used to have more cover from the bezel, not this one

I really thought that was dust as I was filming, I checked again after reading your comment and I found more scratches. Damn.
Sapphire crystal job done
Somebody should be fired at Casio for the level of incompetence regarding the selection of this ludicrously ilegible display.
This needed MIP fir the win
Agree
Pro G Trek Shock with negative display in 2023? Really? :)
😅
Don't like negative displays. Very hard to read in virtually all conditions....my opinion only....🤔🤔🤔
at least it got a mole on its back..
Very precisely etched too. I love it.

It'll be nice if Casio make a version of that with Tough Solar and MB6, that's what so many ppl have been asking for.
Im thinking on getting h2000 next. Gotta have them all
The light feel when pressed is rubbish
I wish ppl would stop buying these crappy negative display G-Shocks, so that Casio would only focus on positive LCD models, or more STN/MIP models.
The new mudman is big disappointment , absolutely I prefer the old model
I prefer the GGB100 Mudmaster more, similar price point too.
Instead of that long name just call it the ShitScreen. 👍 👌 🙆♂️
lol
Given the price, screen is pathetic. It could have been better
NEGATIVE DISPLAY ARE FUCK!!!
These negative displays are a fool's delight. And I can't understand whatever weird dialect you're speaking.
Terrible display and its a hair puller .. no thank you
agree on both points
