Great video after one year. At first I was on the fence, but after seeing your videos I bought this mudman and I like it. I also own the GW 9400 rangeman but I like this watch, is slimmer. I also bought the GWG 1000-1A3ER mudmaster, it was on sale for about 430 usd after the new gwg-b1000 was released,and it's my favorite. You mentioned my comment about updating the gbd-h2000. I'm not making fun, the truth is that casio needs to make more effort in this segment of smartwatches and apps,that's why I like these standalone watches more. I also observed that you keep your watches in this metal box,which is a faraday cage, blocking the signal from the atomic clock, and the solar charging also not working. And you are right about the GPS, I'm close to the russian border, and they jam the signal very often. Sometimes even the cellular network is having difficulty to connect. Starlink is affected in some areas. But we are very dependent on this technology, but is also a weak point in a conflict. On the other hand I will wait for your opinion on the new metal bezel version of the mudman. Here is not available yet, but I'm interested.

Happy one year user here, too. I noticed the "pins" or bolts do not quite screw fully tight on the case. Of course, they don't fall out or anything, but they do rotate. For safety's sake I added a tiny drop of loctite, when I was changing straps. Thank you for the review!

Would prefer sapphire glass tho. Looking forward to getting it in hand. A good way to keep losing weight is not to call the pizza man via phone or app. I wish I could stop calling. Ha.

I was looking for this one, but when I tried on, I realized that this new one is slimmer but the lug to lug dimension is bigger and the GWG 1000 is more suitable for my wrist, the wings under the strap are bigger and help a lot. But I like the design on this gwg 2000.
Good point on the screwed in straps vs the spring pin straps. I've had the g-9300-1 Mudman since 2012, use it almost every day in my job as an auto mechanic. It's almost ridiculously beaten up now, still works great. I recently took it apart to clean it and it was disgusting inside 😂 but held up great, never leaked either! The screwed on straps are cool, they "slot" into the case then screw down. It's very comfy. 60 minute cdt on mip watches is stupid - I just used a 6hr cdt to tell me when I could take more cold medicine this week. A 60 minute cdt just isn't enough How do we feel about gw9400 rangeman for these tasks?
Totally agree, great watch, no nonsense, multi band 6, and no app stalling and updating software making changes that I don't want. My TLC version has the metal bezel, which because of your findings I'm glad I have but if it was the resin and warped I would treat it as a battle scar from genuine use. The metal is not heavy at all, I don't think you would notice at all of you get to try one on. Great one year review, now just one left on the warranty 😊 Thanks Jim 👍

How does the gw-9400 compare to the gw-9500. I am leaning toward the gw-9400. I like the looks better and the sunset/sunrise function (I am in agriculture). However, the Gw-9400 looks chunky and if you move your wrist back the sensor may poke into your arm, and this would be a disqualification.
@@JimKinkademy GW-9400 always ended up pressing the middle BARO button when I had to do push ups during my army BX…. GW-9500 does not have that issue and the legibility is miles ahead…
I completely agree with you. I have the green version with neg screen and I find it absolutely fine to read. Mwc goes for aesthetics a lot of the time rather than function I find. Love mine to bits
Jim - with you working in the oil fields, even if not on the rig floor, I'd think the Mudman is going to be tougher than the Mudmaster by virtue of being solid state. Maybe the hands on the Mudmaster are too tough to come off even in that environment, but if anyone might break em, it's gonna be you guys out there. I think you're 100% right about the Mudman being the "optimization" of strength. I prefer having an analog dial, but I know the strongest is gonna be the digital version. Thanks for the long term real-world review of this watch! Looking forward to your thoughts on the metal version.
Good point. There's absolutely no hands to break on the mudman. And I don't know if anyone would even want wear a watch on the rig floor with all that rotating equipment.

I have both. The gwg1000 is my dream watch, but the mudman is just so easy to wear daily. I'm a pretty big guy, so the mudmaster suits my arm, but it is so huge that it can't be worn with long sleeves. The mudman is so sleek that it can fit under the sleeve of a dress shirt!

This is kinda love letter to a Mudman, I like it. Exactly as I thought....less software, updates, more satisfaction. I'm really glad to hear that you approved that MudBoy, it's probably okay. By my personal preference my GW9300 JDM is the last really old school MudBoy, I don't need any better (it's hard to make it better), and a carbon fiber band is impossible to beat. Not all apps are stupid, but...I wouldn't put it at the same sentence with a wrist watch, that's not a place for it. I don't blame Casio, guys from Casio are just listening a demand, and a result is a making a ''smartwatch'' for everyone from something that wasn't designed to be that at all....but Casio should also listen the old school boys like me, and the other ones like me....not listen, but just to be what it was always been, and make something nice for us, too. Who cares about what Mad Watch Collector is saying? Ugly? That's just his personal preference...by my personal preference he's ugly as a dog, but I didn't told him that....I told him only that my dog is getting crazy from those mental bells and screams in his videos, which is true....some level should exist. @@traviswalker8933 I think the membrane is not great, but is the best protection against mud. It is used on industrial machines, mining equipment and military. Dropping watches on concrete, I can count on my one hand how many times I drop a watch,or smartphone. Yes I bumped my watches into equipment at work, but they stayed on my wrist.

@@Mrb00st I think the 9500 has some advantages over the 9400 for practical purposes. For one thing the bezel isn’t bowl shaped.

I wore it for years as a firefighter. Never had a problem with it. It’s a great watch.
Actually today marks 1 year that I ordered mine ( from Japan) but yeah it's been on my wrist every day,and you know what? It's Awesome!

It’s more diminutive. The King would get in the way and it was difficult to do stuff.

The old mud resist structure was quite bad in day to day usage. The Mudman G-9000 had issues with the screen cracking off because of a strong impact.
