I've always considered the Mudmaster to be the ultimate apocalypse watch, perfect for a bugout situation & whilst i appreciate the ways it can be used with your phone i hope a phone is not absolutely required for most of it's core features
They're not, all the core features can be used without any Bluetooth connectivity. Like all gshock bluetooth watches the functionality is there if you need it, but all essentials like compass, altimeter, barometer, thermometer, sun rise, multiband 6 etc all work without Bluetooth
This is my second comment on this video. What an amazing time piece. I tried all the indicated functions on my lower specced BB100 in my kitchen and it all worked..! I'll now need lessons on how to read/use a compass so I can use the compass on this beautiful time piece. Well done Casio!
Beautiful watch packed with tons of features, both new and old. I love the look too and checked out the specs and it's actually smaller than the 1000 and 2000 which is impressive they packed all that tech in a smaller case. Not a big fan of Bluetooth g shocks but nonetheless, a fantastic addition to the mudmaster line. May look at this down the road, until then, still incredibly happy with my GWG 2000.
It’s also smaller than the Mudmaster GGB-100 series as well. It wears very comfortably on the wrist. I haven’t been able to take mine off since I bought it.
Just got mine today and I love it.. Didn't realize how recently this watch was released (Oct. 2023). Great watch although since it was sent from Japan and the instructions were........in Japanese (not English). BUT.. the Casio watch app solved all the setup issues for me. Personally, Casio watches are a headache to setup sometimes but the app makes setup easy and flawless. Good job Casio.

I feel like someone from Casio has been reading the comments on my TH-cam videos where I criticised the GWG-2000 for being scratch prone, having less presence than than the GWG-1000, less legible dial/ hour markers, having a plastic band keeper and no extra features et,. Now this one has DLC coating (diamond like carbon coating) on the front metal parts, bluetooth functionality, proper metal button pushers, metal band keeper, more pronounced hour markers, everything! Every single thing has been fixed and it is now a true sucessor to the OG MUDMASTER

MultiBand6 signal isn't available in many countries, so the older watches would always be out of sync and to match the time, we would have to frequently re-adjust the time manually (which was a very tedious process, as you had to push the crown in at the very right second, otherwise it would be a few seconds off the actual time). With this, the watch can automatically connect to your phone via bluetooth and update the time daily, making it much more accurate
@@adamski101 Yes, but the weight is almost the same, barely a couple of grams lighter than the GWG-1000 and a few grams heavier than the GWG-2000. So the watch will feel more dense/hefty on the wrist
I bought this exact reference G-Shock Mudmaster at the recent Toppers Jewelers event in the SF Bay Area where we met the inventor of the G-Shock, Kikuo Ibe, and I have not been able to take it off since. It’s smaller and thus easier to wear than my first G-Shock, the Mudmaster GGB-100-3A, and I absolutely love it! It will always stay in my small collection. *Absolutely fantastic* watch; I’m wearing mine as I write this.
I'll be making great use of this watch navigating from my desk to the coffee maker in the office. I'm sure most of the people that are considering buying this are not Navy SEALS, Delta Force or Rangers, but office workers that don't trek through jungles on a regular basis. Seems Casio has gone just a little over the top on the compass functions here. They also seem to have eliminated the function pointer, which I thought was useful. There was no explanation of what the indicator on the left side of the watch does, but hopefully it's something that can get me from the coffee maker to the break room and back to my desk again.

Quite a relaxing video of the new mudmaster, very different from that intense GWG 2000 video . Anyhow, I prefer my mudmasters to be the not reliant on Bluetooth so I might skip on this one. I love my GWG 2000 and 1000 though 😁
I think the older GWG 1000 and 2000 were great because all its features were self contained and not required to be tethered to a phone via bluetooth. Once you have to do that, then why wouldn't I just get a smart watch instead?
Omg. Did you guys see him pull out a smart phone in the video? No. All functions are assessable from the Bluetooth app, but THE APP IS NOT NEEDED. The watch is still a stand alone device, but with Bluetooth connectivity for more advanced features, and convenience.
@He_isI Yep but when u buy a 800€ watch thinking it can navigate u back to a location without à phone but it doesn't as this add seems to make it like look it does, u get very disapointed. Guys you need a paired phone to use the track back fonction. Anyone telling u otherwise is misleading you. I'm keeping mine though cos it's a gorgeous watch and I love it. I will keep my Instinct Solar Tactic for survival purposes(just in case) and some sporting activities. Might get the new rangeman later on to replace the Garmin cos I think the solar charging is better on the Casios. I need a fully independent watch for survival purposes!!

Unfortunately if you are in a location for one to three weeks without internet signal, difficulty connecting to GPS and reserving phone battery just in case of an emergency, then you're not going to be able to rely on Google maps or any phone app. Plus Google maps isn't designed for hiking and off the beaten track excursions. Really you need standalone devices and tools.

Hey bro I’ve never owned the GWG-B1000 but I own the GWG-1000 and GWG-2000. I’d highly recommend the 2000 above all because it’s a truly standalone watch no phone or bluetooth needed for things like timekeeping etc. it updates automatically overnight via radio towers instead of bluetooth which is ideal if you’re without a phone or if it runs out of battery. it’s also beautifully built and finished with heaps of attention to detail. In my opinions the GWG2000 is THE tool watch for any situation at all. Hope this helped

The phone's GPS is what is being used here; it's just that the bluetooth connection with the phone is used to communicate directions back to the watch. You don't need to pull out the phone itself, but it does need the bluetooth connection to be active.
These appear to be the same buttons as my 9500 mudman, it would be good to understand why the switch to plastic buttons inside a metal barrel..... My original gwg-1000 and 9400 Rangeman buttons feel so much higher quality....... That said massive improvement in the rest of the build and functionality even if a lot of it requires a mobile
If you're going to the muddy jungles in a survival challenge with an army of enemies on your tail, you are better served with this watch. For anything else, your £100 smart watch would be overkill.

Shame Casio have been too cheap to include a proper metal buckle on the strap. The plastic buckle is not much beter than one on a £80 g shock. This is the weak point of the watch. My GW 9400 Rangeman metal buckle is reassuring
The "Guard" sections on this model are not made out of steel, this is 7071T alloy, nothing more. In my opinion, the G-1000 Mudmaster is the highest peak of Casio Engineering with a Sapphire Crystal that overpasses this model..... The B1000 is OK in my opinion, a little to pretty for me, the OG G-1000 is a Tank.

Yes, I have the 1000 and my 2000 is on the way. Disappointed the B1000 is smaller. Probably won't buy it sight unseen like I did with the 1000 & 2000

I use a rangeman as backup for new walks where I don't have phone signal. Having a device that finds your car is pretty useful

The only g-shock that operates GPS navigation totally independent is gpr-b1000 Rangeman. IT doesn't need a phone for navigation

How come it has a location indicator, mission log and a location memory and doesn't has a step tracker?
I guess it uses your phone's positioning system for the distance, and built in compass for the direction.
