This article is a great marketing material. Don't get me wrong, I know the watch will survive mud and dirt, or even diesel. Most of the g-shocks will survive. The cheap DW -5600e square is a NASA flight approved g-shock and can survive in the vacuum of space. With this new rangeman the limiting factor is the charging, but it's great for the rescue teams. The older model gw9400 was very popular in the military and now I think the new mudman will be also very popular.
I own the gwg b1000 Mudmaster, wich has an intricate and angular shape steel bezel. This bezel is a weapon ;-) it can hurt and scratch the skin or any soft surface. Definitly not a rescue wrist watch. I love it however !
it might be a stupid question but: can I take this watch into a sauna or really cold plunge? I mean I do not see any information about it but I guess it is possible?
@@motivationmore7025 I would wear in into a sauna or cold plunge. Here’s me dripping liquid nitrogen on mine: th-cam.com/users/shortsuFhmLxJ7A5E?si=-ykUpAdH9zu_MEMQ
They’re both so similar! It depends on the specific colorway. Some color combos on both models don’t have enough contrast between the hands and the face. I would take the 140 since the shape of the hands are of a more pronounced arrow and I feel like that adds to the legibility.
The thing is , Russ, I don’t really like either of those because the dial is too busy. If you’re looking for an ani-digi in that price range check out the GA700. Much cleaner dial.
No, I don’t think you can change the strap because the strap has a female end that is proprietary to Casio. Maybe someone will make an adapter. I’m liking the Rangeman a lot so far and I’m happy I got it!
I love my yellow !!! I had the last 2 iterations, all great , but I still think this watch was put together, aesthetically, smart… the previous model while great, is a little cumbersome, compared to this one.. jmo
I have just been looking at the bezel screws on my GGB100 and the bump stops are at an angle so one side of the screws are protected but just protrude slightly on one side.my GWGB1000 has only one half of the screws protected but the my GW7900 the screws stick up slightly above the bezel I guess some of it is how the designer wanted to watch to look
By the way I got the gdb h2000 this week and I’ve used it for a bit and gotta say it’s incredible. Thank you for all of the helpful videos that you’ve made on the subject, big love from Italy 🇮🇹
Mud is nothing! My GD350BR took diesel, oil and a substance like WD40 for one year at work. At the end the settings button worked not perfect but i cleaned all the watch and it work absolutely perfect even now. I also own a full metal gmw b5000. G-Shocks are something else in durability. But i barelly use them now, i prefer a Samsung Watch6ClassicLTE, in a much cleaner work space, but still i ndustrial.
It's soft like a penis.....new Rangeman AKA Dick Steele....ok, without jokes now, that doesn't have to be a bad thing, maybe it's not a bad idea for a shock resistance, and also for a general comfort at the wrist. By the way, GPR-B1000 didn't been the only one, that was the most advanced digital Casio, I think to this day, maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. But it didn't been the only one, that period 2016.-2018. was a period of insane high end Casios.....for example, GPW-2000 Gravitymaster was definitely the most advanced analog Casio, and it's still to this day, I'm 100% sure. That's the analog piece of art, a masterpiece from Casio....a work of completely insane team from Casio. I really believe that Casio will sooner or later make some updated version of a Dick Steele, and it should be okay, but I'm also sure the price tag will be insane, too. Like

The rangeman strap is very comfortable and I love it.
I shelved my GPRB1000 for the GW9500. The GW9500 is a perfect fit for me and my uses.
Yes, the Mudman is that good! Good size too!

You know what’s funny is that when I saw it I thought it looked like a chisel. I guess it is!
This is a GBDH2000 using the Rangeman branding and design, it’s just a sports watch Casio screwed up on this one could of been one the best.
Futuristic Barnacles indeed.
That's good. Little more rebound as well . Especially compared to things like Garmin instinct with it's hard chipping crappy plastic.
Yea, the plastic on the garmins look cheap to me. That’s why I haven’t got one yet.
If you leave the Mudman compass on 24/7, how much battery does it use?
Will not stay in that mode for more then a few minutes.
Like MF said, after a few minutes it goes back to the main time screen.
The compass will only work for 60 seconds.
Would you rather have gpr b1000 or h1000. I work in construction tunnels , bridges, heavy equipment, installing ALL PIPES UNDERGROUND.
I've never worn the GPR-B1000. But I've experienced some durability issues with the GPR-H1000 so I can't recommend that one.
Great insight ! Thanks Jim!
Very good video. The best rangeman and very comfortable
That’s right, my Rangeman brother! 👍

What are your thoughts on the GA-110 vs GA-140?

Hi Jim, Your UK viewer again. No one else has mentioned this softness. Can you change the watch strap and would you still buy it? Many thanks

It definitely looks cool. But the exposed screws DO rub.

That’s great! Enjoy the watch!
I think it is soft to better absorb the shocks. elasticity will dissipate energy before it reaches the core device within the protective body.
That’s a benefit for sure!

G-shocks should be tested in diesel and oil. It’s the only way.
cool
this material wears off and leaves som defects I checked just rub 200 times in one place
Ok! Good tip. I sure will test that!
Soft watches for tough men 😉
Sounds like you’re reading.
I'm reading the article G-Shock published on their international website.
All G shocks should come with "hourly signal chime". Once again stupid Casio didn't put it on this watch, so Casio won't sale it to me.
Yes you can turn on the hourly chime
@@ApacheSenzala I checked on Casio website and the features of this watch doesn't show Hourly Signal Chime.
I’m confused because there are people telling me you can turn on the hourly chime. That might be a new feature they added in the app. 🤷♂️

I have 9400 rangeman, i love it but need something like a smartwatch but tough as 9400.
The DWH5600 doesn't have all the features, but it's pretty tough and can buzz if you get a notification.
