      Thank you so much for watching man!! I've been seeing the Albies but can't seem to get in range to cast. That is super cool to hear you got close to them! I hope to run into another school of the shad sometime. Really fun fish to catch.

      Thank you for watching Peter!! Excited to get back out there. Lots going on still on the South Shore. Air temps seem to be dropping next few weeks, curious how things will change up.

    great fish, ill be down there tomorrow at low tide, any sign of albies or green bonita?

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Albies are around the South shore for sure. I have been seeing them but wayyy too far out of casting distance every time. I haven't personally seen any bonito but I bet they're out there. So much micro bait around. Have fun out there and thank you for watching the channel!!

  • @IVIusicMayhem
    @IVIusicMayhem 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you like the penn clash? I ordered one online and when it came the bail seem to not open enough even though it clicked. When it was opened it seem line would honestly hit the bail coming out but I never spooled it, it just seemed so. Didnt like it bc of that so I returned it. Is yours like that?

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! I like the clash a lot and have five. That sounds really strange, maybe it was a bad egg. It happens sometimes even with the nicest of reels and the online stores. I have ordered rods that have shown up smashed a few times and a Shimano reel that looked brand new but had a drag slipping issue. Never know with shipping. I love Penn though, they are my favorite reel company for spinning gear.

    Bob get yourself a pair of Continental Gator Skin Tires which are Kevlar reinforced and forget about getting flats anymore iam using those on my Cinelli Vigorelli Single speed bike ...

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah I swear by gator skins. On my last swap 32c's were not available so I went with these newer Continental ones. They are pretty nice but I agree gator skins are the way to roll in NYC. I am having one of those weeks where its multiple flats in a row. Probably metal shard in the tire stuck deep somewhere I keep missing. Thank you for watching Rd H!!

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rdh9155 Oh dang that is really pricey. I wanted to give these newer style a try. They're pretty comfy haha. But if I get another flat I'll probably try and find a pair of gators locally. Even if its going down to 28s

  • @FishinAccomplished
    @FishinAccomplished 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Gosh Bob, that was some solid multi-species action! I suppose with these warmer water temps, you never know what you're going to find on the other end of your line! Super bummer with that bike flat though... I used to ride a lot, and nothing's more of a buzzkill then a flat when your miles away from home! Did you end up hoofing it the whole way back?! How long was that trek?! Regardless, great video!

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo thank you for tuning in man! There is a ton of bait stacked along the entire south shore, pretty much good fishing everywhere. Jamaica Bay looks decent too, more adult bunker sitting back there. I'm having one of those flat tire streaks haha.I think it was about 4.5 hours to walk the bike back but I made a gatorade and Swedish fish rest stop at a gas station. It was quite the trek but its raining today and no biggie sitting around.

    thanks for the vid Bob,, great as usual
    such a bummer about the bike,, is there any way to carry a bike flat tire gunk or repair patch,,,,, I used to ride and if memory serves there was one time when i actually used that repair kit to save my ass a s 10 mile walk

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching Steve!! Oh yeah those repair kits can totally save you in a pinch. I have one of those micro pumps and usually have a spare in my bag but had fixed a flat that morning and ran out. I just wanted to go fishing really bad haha. I didn't want to include drama in this video but unfortunately two teenagers tried to steal my bike when I was on the jetty. Think they realized it had a flat and decided to throw it back on the rocks when I was running up to them. So I got a bent derailer, brake lever and a flat haha. One of those days

    Buy yourself a couple of tire irons and a patch kit. Maybe an extra tube and a pump if you don’t have one already. It won’t cost more than fifty - sixty bucks and you’ll never have to walk home again. Talk to your bike shop, they'll explain it to you.

      @@BobAquatic American shad will only feed when the enter a river to spawn….The Delaware, Hudson and St. John’s (Florida) rivers are the 3 major American Shad fisheries

    • @BobAquatic
      @BobAquatic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Skolmann I am excited that they were Hickory shad! Thank you so much for correcting and commenting Andrew! I just changed the title. I did some research this morning and I guess the major physical difference is the Hickory's lower jaw protrudes out and the American is even. Are the Hickory common in LI this time of year? That was the first time I have come across a school of them. They are really fun to catch haha, I'd love to learn more and figure them out for next year.

      @@BobAquatic I usually encounter them more in the fall here in NJ when surf fishing. But I have also caught them mid summer when fishing Raritan Bay. I refer to them as NJ tarpon as they have a tendency to jump/tail walk when hooked.
