  • Case IH invited the Welkers to Racine Wisconsin for a special tour of the Magnum factory. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed watching tractors being built as well as learning the history behind the company. It is a marvel as to what goes into tractor production. After this trip I can guarantee we have a new found appreciation for the machinery we operate.
Tours are available to anyone so make the trip! - www.caseih.com/northamerica/e...

In 1974 I visited the International Assembly plant in Dusseldorf Germany. Back then I was able to go close to the forge making crankshafts and feel the earth shake. Also see the putting of piston rings by women in the engine blocks.

Most factory tours I’ve been on don’t allow cameras. I was amazed when Millennial Farmer was allowed to put his Agco tractor factory tour up on TH-cam.

I live about a hour north of Racine. I have a uncle who worked at Case in the mid 1980s and got to tour the Case plant. It was really neat and worth the time to tour, even though I'm a die hard John deere fan. Great video. Thank you for making it

In 1959 I was helping a local contractor. He went out to bale with a prewar case without a swing drawbar. After he had finished I had to re row
the hay and bale. I was using an international 276 plus international baler - happy days.

I have seen that exact same 5488 (last IH tractor off the belt)in the Columbus Ohio farm science review (my home state) I am a fan of green tractors but I have a lot of history with red tractors and my grandfather wanted to go to the Case section (I don’t think anyone loves international more than him) and we saw that exact tractor! we have a picture of him with it and all when we saw it there The people there said it was traveling around the country. That’s awesome you saw it too!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for all the videos. I grew up surrounded by farms my family always had a large garden, but I never did any farming although it has always been interesting to me especially the machinery ( the little boy in me for sure) and I really enjoy learning about what you and other families and people like you do and the equipment you use, it is really fascinating and I really appreciate it.

Haha! Racine Wisconsin! I grew up in Milwaukee... I saw the title, I thought "Why the hell would they be in Racine???" I honestly didn't know Case IH was there....
LegArms and your Dad are so funny.... when they are laughing, they look so much alike, they could almost be brothers.....
    Anyways nice job.

I should have watched the whole thing before I commented. It always amuses me, when you meet people, how different people's life experiences can be.... I feel like I've spent so many years in a factory one way or another, I just take it for granted.....
Your experiences are so different.... NEVER been in a factory... That kinda was like, wow.... How is that possible??
But then, the things you guys do every day, I've never done that stuff for one minute......

I have been in CNH plant in St. Valentine Austria. They produce Case Maxxum, Puma and Optum there. Fun fact....this plant was called Nibelungenwerke during WWII and produced almost half of all german Panzer IV's, Tiger I and Jagdtigers. Some of the halls and cantine are from that period of time.

The steam Case tractor that you showed to operate the Shredder machine had the large Belt Wheel, The belt wheel could power other functions. We had a Case (an early 1950's) on the ranch in which one of the functions we used a lot was to power a large saw blade in which we slipped a large belt onto the Fly Wheel to spin the Saw Blade. We had primarily wood stoves, Kitchen Ranges, Fireplaces and pot belly wood stoves. We harvested dead trees that were on the New Mexico ranch. Everything worked like a charm.

If you liked the big old steam powered Case, you all should bring your families to Rollag, MN (Near Fargo, ND) for the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion, over the labor day weekend. They have a ton of steam powered and classic farm equipment. This years feature tractor is Case. We have been attending this show for the past 6 or so years and we discover something new every time! Thanks for the great videos, love watching you all farm, and work on equipment!

    I’m from Milwaukee Wisconsin.
My wife’s family are from the Quad Cities.
We went to see them this weekend and took my 17 month old daughter to the John Deere Pavilion to see the equipment.
My second favorite part of the weekend is when grandma tried to buy my baby a shirt and I said no she’s a Case baby and some random lady started laughing. Turned out she was visiting from Racine.
Favorite part was discovering my daughters love for big trucks. Was kind of worried about having to just play dolls for another 10 years.
She loved the tractors, combine, bull dozers etc. loved loved loved.
Will have to take her to see the Case Heritage exhibit in Racine soon. Just 20 min south of us!

The 5088 series internationals have one of the most unique shift patterns you’ll ever see. High, medium, low and reverse fully synchronized ranges, 6 gears. Powershift between 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and synchronized from 2-3 and 4 to 5. Back then it was the only partial powershift with fully synchronized ranges.

Only place I have visited where dirt roads can be plumb bob straight at 30,000 feet in the air as far as the eye can see. Grain trains are still used and can be 125 plus cars long. Amazing place to visit. Going there, the argument the world is flat is almost true. LOL!!!!
