  • Thanks to Torgersons CASE IH dealer in Montana and PÖTTINGER we were able to spend a few days playing with a Terradisc on the farm. This was a short demo and we were not paid to do this video but we really appreciate the time provided with these machines.

Just a tid bit. After 20 plus year in Michigan heavy construction, I moved into engineering. One of the machines I designed was a servo lift assist that installs the ehaust systems on all of the Case Magnum tractors in their factory . So, for a moment there I had a connection to Welker Farms. God Bless, keep up the great work.

Great video! If you ever got a change to try out some German powerhorse you should take it. Something like fendt 1038 or 1042 these will blow you away I think. Almost no brand can get close to the comfort of these machines. And they are very fast, up to 60km/u (37mph). Have a great day and keep up the work an videos.

    I drive/operate a NH-TG285 boosted to 360HP
(basically the same tractor as CaseIH-MX285)
(they're all coming out from the same assembly-line in Racine Wisconsin. The one you had there would be same as NH T8-310)
I work with a Ruben 9 Lemken (19-20ft). It does the same work as the Terradisc you had.
On hard and old "turf", the best way to work em out fast in only 2 passes is to X patterned them. Some soil will do on only 1 pass, others will need 3 or even 4 (mostly the field where it is not possible to go high-speed like short fields and hills). But over all, all brands of high-speed disc will give the same result. It all depends on the horses pulling them, and the guy driving the horse ;)
The ideal setup would be with on tracks (Challenger/John-Deere/Fendt). The best setup would be on articulated tracked tractors (Steiger-CNH red or blue/Versatile/John-Deere/Challenger) Those disc need speed, and only a tracked tractor can provide that speed because of its smoother ride. (I can't wait for my boss to buy one of those.... He just talked about last night. His first choice would be Versatile. But because the next dealer is at 1100miles, he will have to go with CNH :-( .....(oh come on you Versatile dealers... Who will have to KICK your ass in order for you to setup a dealer-ship in central-quebec???) ;)

Hi, new sub from the UK here, what you felt there with the rough ride is due to the mass of the wheels working against the mass of the tractor, in automotive terms 'un-sprung weight' Newtonian theory. Loving the channel Nick.

We got a 2015 340 with cab suspension (which really helps) and it does everything except seeding and we love it. It can pull a1000 bushel cart with about 45000 pounds in it and it pulls it like a dream. One thing that helps is some weights on the front and in the rear tires. Also there is a nob on the back of the monitor to tighten it.

Dad is actually thinking on getting something like that to replace our Dimond Harrow Kelly chain which has cracks in the frame supprising to see the 2588's out I thought you put them away for the year so far we haven't started harvest yet the 9750 sts which we recently bought it's ready to go exept we don't have a trailer for the header front and that's especially difficult down under when your surrounded by creeks the other one is basically reestored had to put a whole new gearbox rotor and concave in it like that you got a chance to drive the newer magnum bet it's different to driving an old 2001ish JD 7810 anyway have a good one

Have you ever driven a 1999 Case IH Maxxum 100? My dad has one at our farm and it rides well has 100 hp and is a great tractor. I was mowing the fields with it and it is quite simple on the inside. Hello from a kid from a 204 acre farm in New Jersey!!! Love your vids. Keep up great work!!!
