I've always said that I prefer and have got on better in my career having male bosses. With women bosses I always find are competitive, critical and rarely supportive and tend to set unrealistic deadlines.

Thank you for the advice about micromanaging and how to deal with company policies that can make you look like a micromanager. That is a perspective that I could not see before. I feel engaged to be a better me and better leader “manager”. Serving leadership is the best way!

I must confess I am somewhat a micromanager. Speaking on this for me it's a
Trust issue. Once trust has been established. I will back way off. My reasoning is I have the information of all aspects of the project. Sometime an idea won't mesh with something else.

Becky, I so respect your willingness to share this. Agreed. Trust is key. That is why I suggest that the employee go to their boss and ask how they can attain more autonomy. Typically, a boss will share this information, and if the employee follows through, it builds trust. Having a lack of trust with someone is very stressful. My point is that employees can also take the lead in bridging the trust gap. Thanks for the honest comment. Good luck to you! Lacy
