The mold can be built with opposing slides or collapsible cores, but the complexity, size, and maintenance of the injection mold (and cost) go waaaaaay up.
I personally think this box should have had two separate lids (one for each packout system). That way you could remove one set of packout boxes and still open half the box rather than remove every single box just to get to the bottom.
The only problem is the seal. You'd either have to have a rib going down the center, this making it two individual bins, or have an overlapping seal. The third option would be to have one smaller lid/opening, similar to some of those coolers you see that have a quick access. The other problem I just thought of is that once you cut into it, you also degrade the ability to hold as much weight, the integrity is degraded.
The reason both stacks face the same direction is so that the cleats can hold all the weight when rolling and not put stress on the single plastic locking lever on each box
If someone really wanted to change the direction of the stacks, they could make a low profile adaptor plate that would change the cleat directions. Wouldn’t add too much height either, maybe 1/2” to 1”. But the plastic locking lever would need some reinforcement or somethin..
Why not have the engineer use it practically first? 😂😂😂 Seriously though... How many meetings were held at Milwaukee headquarters before placing the box into production?
I was super impressed with the door kicking skill.😂 ive always modded my large totes so I can attach things like framing squares and levels to the inside of the lid. The easiest way Ive found is to drill small holes in the strenghtening cross ribs and attach those little black mini bungees at various locations so you can easily slide the levels and squares underneath the bungees. Works great for me..
I was looking at it in the store today. For 200 bones it just didn't feel right with all the other larger options right next to it. . I attached a few boxes in the store to the top of it and then I realized. Who would want to lift this. Maybe someone, Not me! Found myself buying the Dewalt box right next to it on sale for 75 bones for 64 gallon storage capacity. I'm all for Milwaukee innovation, this just didn't scratch the itch. I am still waiting for the rolling single or double bottom drawer packout system. Happy shopping coolgang.
On my triple stack it completely frustrated me. I now have the 3 drawer and 2 drawer. I made the foolish decision to have the small wheel dolly under it. On yards and fencing sites I can't get the drawers into the site easily with the smaller wheels. Yet the triple stack goes really well. So I just moved my drawer stack onto the big box where I keep my saws all, power saw and stapler. Everything I have is now cordless and this setup works good and my clear top larger organizer holds everything else I need. This seems to work better with the larger wheels. One haul and most of my tools are on site.
Take a breath Vince... The cleats on the lid of the new PO roller should have been facing opposite directions so boxes on the front and rear can be accessed.
I assume someone may have already answered your question about the be direction of the boxes but if not, I am pretty sure they did this so you don't have to go back and pick up the boxes you put on the wheel side because they would fall off if the open side is down and when running over any bumps, I believe they would go bye bye!
I actually just bought my first packout and I got the new large single box along with the mid size and a milwaukee crate. Fits all my tools with ease. Its a good investment imo depending on the field you're in
12:05. The reason they didn't make it so the other side doesn't come off the other direction is because they didn't want however much weight you have there being supported by just a clip. They wanted the cleats to be holding all the weight, and the clip just to secure the load against slipping out.
I'm absolutely happy I bought this. It's been a week or so and it saves so much time. I have big birtha in the bed of truck and other boxes in the rear cab seat. Click whatever necessary into birtha and pull up in style.
You know after watching the whole video at the end you mentioned something that I said to myself why did Milwaukee not rotate the way we stash one side of the box so that the lock is more accessible and after thinking about it the only reason I think it's made like that is because when you're rolling out The Big Box everything will be tilted towards the bottom if the first set of boxes was facing the opposite direction and for some reason you did not make sure it was fully locked the minute you pick it up or maybe while you're going up the stairs yes what everything will be flying down from that big box I think it's pretty obvious the way they made the box so they're both locks are facing upwards when you're rolling the big box with other packouts on top of it
I did buy it dude, and I love it... I built some plywood partitions, and I have my Makita Track Compatible Circular Saw on the right, my daily driver circular saw in the middle with my Jigsaw, and then my grinder and recip on the left. I"m stacking fasteners on one of the stack slots and my drill drivers etc on the other stack... I can pull my entire Makita tool collection around with my Milwaukee storage LUL
I have the Packout system for my work truck and for around the house and such I have the Ridgid set. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either. Love them both! But I do feel like the packout is a little more solid in terms of ruggedness.
Small magnets hotglued to the inside of the lid might hold your framing square with minimal loss of space. have not tried myself but seems theoreticaly possible :)
Denis: Magnets, that is a great idea. My framing squares are steel , I went and checked with a magnet, maybe it is because they are 40 years old. They are still good and I use them all the time.
Don't bend my Square! Lol !! After two months I made a purchase Milwaukee Pack out . Thank you Vince for your time . Remember Very Cool Gang ring that like 1776 you will have 7 years good luck.
We got 2 of the packout rolling tool chests and love them one is our trowels and cement stuff the other is our larger rotary hammer and supplies for the cover installations really been amazing
I think they do it that way so if you’re working out of your truck you can access them both from the front or you would have to pull the whole chest out to disconnect the back one
@@ThunderCat19D Was coming down to say that. If your stack isn't latched in, or a latch fails, gravity will hold your boxes on. If you had some facing down instead of up, those could fall off. It's less visually appealing and a bit less usable as is, but more safe.
1. It’s disorganized to find your stuff in one large box. And it’s a puzzle to put it all back in each time. 2. It limits you from taking only specific tools to a job site. Unlike grab and go smaller packout boxes with specific tools inside. 3. It’s crazy heavy to lift on and off your truck.
You hit on most of the bullet points I thought of too after checking this out at the depot myself. Also: even after you stack your 2 sets of boxes, one set faces in for some strange reason, making it difficult to get to that stack (why Milwaukee did you not design both stacks facing out?????).
I love my packout system but if you already have a large rolling box like your Husky, why not just mount two packout mounting plates to the lid. The box is bigger and you can mount the plates facing whichever direction you want
I like the large rolling box, but when I was looking at it at Home Depot, it is so big, by the time I filled it with tools and so forth, it would almost require me to have a second person to lift it into the pickup truck. If I had a van or a truck with a lift gate, yes, it would be perfect, but with the regular rolling box, things can break down much smaller and easier to lift into truck.
I have the regular 3 piece packout, im a technician for wood processing machinery, the tool box weights around 200lb. Hurt my back lifting it into my van, now I installed a mobility scooter hoist in the back of my van, and use it to lift the tool box right into my van with a click of a bouton😎
This was a great demo. I always see reviews of storage boxes whether for tools are other things and they talk about the dimensions, square footage, or cubic footage but thats meaningless until you see what can actually fit in there.
Love your video!!! Great review. I am a Milwaukee Pack Out man. You cannot find a better product. Period!. If you make your living with these portable tool boxes, buy what you can afford. All I see on the construction sites are the Milwaukee Pack Outs. The proof is out there. I understand they are expensive but you will hand these down to your children.
From a design point of view, IF you had that tote loaded as your base packout box in the back of the truck with the handle facing the tailgate, and you ONLY needed to just take the smaller boxes into the jobsite, you wouldn't need to flip the larger tote 180 degrees to get the back row of packout boxes off. You could get to both stacks from the ground at the tailgate. Just my thought.
funny vince what you said about the paper tape..i've worked with both painters and carpenters carpenters always say you gotta use the paper while the painters prefer the mesh. i think for touchups and cracked or damaged rock the painters like the mesh as it has the self adhesive while spackeling new rock with tape coat paper is definitely the best. quick tip for any beginners there is a right and wrong way to put on the paper tape..the middle seam needs to be folding inword towards the seam as it gets pulled in towards the seam when hit with compound if not it wont pull into it but as for the big roller not sure i like it rather them improve the hand cart so then i can use an xl box with drawers on top
Respectfully Vince I disagree based on the cost factor and container size. I as an installation contractor use a large number of Ridgid boxes and Dewalt rolling totes simular to the Huskey box in your video. My rolling totes are used for supplies and large items. The Huskey totes and Dewalt totes are a 1/3 the cost and work just fine. Also Ridgid is 1/2 the price of Milwaukee. Thanks for the video Vince !!!!!
My trailer is wall stacked with rigid, one strap @ end of day...done...my big tote is stationary in truck. 1 packout 3 fits perfect in my third door, main packout 3 is in back of bed with all my filled/labeled 🪣 s, levels and squares and all that have their spot on the side, and it's funny to me, but the big husky tote handle slides right to the side if the bed, I use it to "jump" and grab...say the radio or whatever on the opposite side lol. Very handy. But Mainly stationary bcuz the one time WE lifted it our to roll on away, husky said "what axle?" 😄
My ridged broke after a year of daily use handle snaped right off I would have been right around the weight rating but still if the Milwaukee lasts longer I’d say it may be worth the cost imo
I did see it at my depot it's pretty big and pretty expensive. Seems very convenient to have for storing bigger tools. Love the video guys great job as always.
Thanks Vince for another great video with very good information I saw that box and the price turned me off. My problem with packout is the wheeled base box. The first attempt to correct it was another OVERPRICED solution was the packout hand truck. Now with the flaw you mentioned on the new box has made it another definite no unless it’s 50% off. Packout is still best solution IMO but last 2 years fell flat except packout vacuum which would mate perfectly with the half organizers IF THE FACED THEY OTHER FRIGGIN WAY on the long box
None of the joint compound at the box stores is as good. The USG rep in NE Illinois flat out told me the Plus3 and tinted are ground more and finer at the paint stores and building supply houses.
I use my pack out to transport my water blasting PPE because all my gear is super heavy.I used to carry a massive duffel bag and tool box but the 3 stack pack out helps me bring it all without breaking my back. I will admit it can be a pain taking each box off in order to get to different gear but being able to carry extra items across job sites and know where each item is located is so much better then searching for 5 mins. Increase productivity.
I think the reason why the one side doesn't face the opposite direction is that if you put any of the Packout Drawers there, in the opposite direction, and by accident when you life the tool chest up, and you didn't secure the drawers with the locking bar, the drawers will open up and spill your tools and/or materials behind you when you walk. I'm sure this was debated and thought of by the eggheads at Milwaukee.
Suggestion, get two of the packout wall and floor mounting plates for $60, and bolt them to the top of your husky box and call it a day. And then you can mount them alternate ways to access them from each side without taking the boxes off.
I've used those husky boxes and they're a bit on the flimsy side. There's no way you could fill it to the top with even mediumly heavy items like drop cloths and paint cans. Might make a couple trips but would give out after being thrown in and out of a truck a couple times. The latches, walls, and lid are way better on the Milwaukee. It looks like you could fill it all the way with heavy ish items like tools and it will hold. Carrying it will be a different story
@@MichaelSotoCE yup, mine gave when it was full of tools. it was over limit, but its expected that a large box is going to be super heavy. i have packout and would rather have to carry two different boxes than to go back to husky (or other brands)
So $100 for the husky box then $60 for the mounts and you’re not too far off from the Packout. Also the packout is more heavy duty, those husky boxes are ok if you’re never going to move them
For me it's not an issue of cost that deters me. As a mobile mechanic I worry that by the time I loaded stuff into that box and stacked the rest of my packout on, it would just be way too heavy. It's easier just to have to separate stacks
Vince a quick fix for that level would be to attach it to the lid of the box through the inside. you could 3d print a mount with a magnet or drill a hole and tie it with a bungee cord or something
Definitely dropped the ball with not flipping the mounting positions for the top stacks. I also think it would have been a slick idea to have the cover split so that you didn’t have to remove both stacks to access something in the bottom rolling tote.
Facts! I think people who are new to packout want to start out with the 3 box set up and gradually acquire other boxes but this is definitely a great solution. I agree about the orientation of the boxes though lol Also I could be better priced. 229 is type steep not gonna lie. Somewhere at the 179 arena would be more fair in my opinion.
I have the big one and i love it . I use it as a quick road service box I can keep in my pickup for light heavy equipment and truck repairs I got mine for 199.00
1:10 My fav deal that “We” got this 3-piece packout for was around…..what, $179. That was such a sweat sweat deal😉 Thx VCG and Vince & Nick for the Vid and DEALS✌🏻
I have been converting to packout over the last year, but I have four 28" tool boxes I've had to keep because things like prybars, sheet metal folding tools, etc don't fit into packout boxes- but I can't see dropping that kind of cash on a box to replace the $20 boxes I've had for 20+ years. I love Milwaukee but not that much, lol
@@GodGunsGills I can understand selling your packout system/boxes if they weren’t working for you, nothing is more irritating than having boxes that don’t work for you personally due to size, depth, quality, etc., but what I don’t understand is why You chose to go from a quality tool line to an inferior tool line? I used to be a diehard, loyal as hell, team yellow fan also but then it would have been around 2000 or so +/- when their quality did a nose dive off a 14k foot mountain side and I had several new tools failing within months of purchase and warranty repairs were taking months due to parts on back order etc and I looked over and had 4 cordless red drills at the time that were 10+ years old and still using the original batteries but one and I already had the original sawzall ad some other misc red tools that were holding up extremely well for the abuse I was throwing at them. I replaced everything that was yellow/black with the comparable red tool and I have never been happier ! Especially with the last several years of new tool development they have come out with. I know how we use them affects how we view them to some degree and each one of us are different, but I just don’t think I will ever be able to go back to yellow ever again after all of the good experiences I’ve had with my red and all of the new tools they have been pumping out the past several years. It really doesn’t matter tho as long as your happy with your line, I’m happy with my line, and everyone else is happy with their ryobi’s! 😬 Take care man and be safe out there wherever your at
@@1982MCI I'm doing home remodeling and building lizard terrariums bro so I don't need Milwaukee and it's a waste of money. If I was doing heavy duty stuff I'd still be with Milwaukee. I was tired of the prices and fan boys
I'll wait to get my packout box when they release the new and improved version Vince suggested... My favorite tool channel and one of my favorite personalities... Very Cool!!!
While everything in the 3 smaller boxes could fit in the larger box, you couldn’t give one crew the appropriate tools that are currently distributed in the smaller boxes, and then give the other boxes to a second crew, without going through the larger box. I think the larger box is great for large tools like pipe wrenches or even knocked down saw horses. But to each his own. The boxes should be oriented to face the long side of the big box so you can access the smaller boxes at the same time.
Not to be mean but they should go get ther own tools that's what makes you worth more money in the first place when a man has the tools he has better knolage of the trade and more respect because he earned it and is more independent bottom line don't pamper your employees recognize the ones set out to buy the tools to do the trade and reward them!!! For hard work!!!
In line with garage doors this would only truly be use for commercial install guys which is the biggest reason I haven’t bought one yet cause I’m residential service where the packout hand truck is most usful but cause of all the construction plastic I made my own but I’ve been wondering if Milwaukee 9” cutoff saw and the water supply tank would fit in that if so I might pick one up
I got mine from Home Depot at 199 I bought it about 2 months ago I was really surprised at that was the only Home Depot that had it on the area come to find out now it's 227 dollars talk about price increase all the sudden
this big box is a great addition to my tools system it fits in the back of my truck/van. I don't really take it out of my vehicle I put majority of my tools in this big box and them fill my Packout with what i need to take into the job. i think one of the best parts of this Packout it that it fits in the back of my truck with the tunnel cover fully closed. that to me alone is reason enough to buy it
I bought it a few days ago. I like it in the fact that I can clip everything together on the top with my other Milwaukee packout accessories. And everything can roll together but at that point it gets super heavy and it takes a second person to throw it in the back of the truck. It's not that deep and it has slots for dividers but the dividers were not sold with it. I think it would have been a lot better for that price if I would have had the dividers to keep everything in its own compartment
I’d definitely put the square inside bottom of lid as mentioned before. Also wanted to say there’s a growing list of mods you can 3D print or have printed for the packout system.
I think they'd do better if the rolling chest was a DEEP, strong, single drawer. So you don't have to take OFF all the nonsense on top to get to it. Maybe a wheel that extends with the deep drawer to support it as it opens. Then again I also think the standard rolling base should also be a deep drawer. And I agree about the orientation. Imagine a double drawer bottom where you could put the 2 or three drawer system on top and get at Everything.
I'll tell ya why Vince. It's because their dang boxes cost twice as much as everybody elses. I have the ridgid stack, but have been thinking about switching over to packout. Went to HD a few weeks ago when packout was on sale with the intention of buying. Ended up buying 3 more ridgid modules instead at half the price even with the sale. 😂
Hello again Vince and Vcg Thank you for another Great Video. I can't answer your question at the end of the Video. Except to engineer's think goofy thoughts that matters only to them. Sometimes you just gotta laugh it off and move on solder. Again thank you
I make a video, you make a video, I use jaw horse.... you use jaw horse, I use a treated 6x6 with no pilot holes, you use one.... coincidence......I don't think so 🤔
I got the big rolling tote with the large box on a home depot deal for 229 last month. Fits the back of my subaru perfectly and holds any tool you have
Vince, have you thought of securing the large square to the inside of the lid with some how? That way it's not prone to getting bent by other stuff in the box. Just a thought. Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos 👍
You can the lids on packout have formed screw locations for mounting IE chargers and other brackets self made however the tray (especially) the handle would bend the square a lot easier. One could cut the handle off carry tray and notch the tray if they wanted to truly protect it
Can you mount the framing square on the underside of the lid somehow? That would be the ideal in my mind. Never anything on top of it or underneath it and it wouldn't get bent (hopefully).
I own all this stuff. I like the Husky box better because it makes a better work platform. I can stand on it. I can saw on it without getting on my knees. If you notice the lid is too short dimentionally on the Milwaukee.
@@Kothas01 Judging from the reviews, the Horsey crowd are nuts for it. Folks also like the Dewalt for their gear but too many people mentioned the latches breaking vs. no durability issues for the Husky.
Vince was really excited to see this packout. Then I measured it and found out Milwaukee missed the mark big time. This Peckout piece it should have been wide enough an deep enough to put the dual compound mitersaw in or the table saw in to protect them during transportation to and from job sites. Neither one of them fit in this packout. Milwaukee are you listening. So close but so far fromt a double bell Ringe!! Maybe in version 2.1?
@@VCGConstruction Vince I was up in in Milwaukee yesterday at the Corp headquarters and told them about this. BTY They liked my Red and white Very cool gang hat. Hopefully they will fix the way that the boxes attached to the top like you showed. I didn't catch that when I look at that thank you for pointing that out. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the weekend.
Yeah, they'll have to make one as large as the Husky box Vince has in this video. However, you CAN buy the cleats and receivers and attach them to the top of the Husky box, and then attach the other Packout boxes to the top of that one.
I literally just looked at these yesterday and I have to admit the Milwaukee, even if it has those conveniences for stacking, was substantially too small for the things that you would want a bigger box for. I mean we can all put our sawzall or circular saw in the big box of the stack. What you need in these boxes are usually longer and let's be honest, we are very concerned about our levels and don't want them damaged. I just don't see this box being big enough but the main reason why I would not buy it is because Home Depot said it right next to the husky. Me and my son did agree that the husky felt like it was not of the same quality, but it wasn't a bad quality! And at more than double the size, yes more than double, it was half the price. They're cutting their own legs out and having too many things against it. I would say an idea that could help it sell at that price, would be to put some type of organizing slots or dividers in there and at the price. Maybe dividing the box up into three things or better yet being able to divide it up into three but still have one side of it where I could put my longer item. But honestly, they just need a bigger box. And I know why they didn't do a bigger box, cuz that box alone is going to be heavy with their design in those bars. Can you imagine how heavy that box will be if it was the size of the husky? And with tools?
It was hard to find around me. I was driving by Home Depot and saw the Milwaukee pickup in the lot with the rep pulling one in. I pulled in and bought it.
Why I'm not buying it: Over twice the price of the Husky but holds less. I've been looking at these large boxes and I plan to buy the Husky. I'm not already bought into the Milwaukee tote system so their large box has no appeal to me.
Biggest reason for me not having this is mainly, you never see this box in stores here in Oklahoma at least. 2nd I feel like this box hasn't really received the same amount of marketing has the other parts of the pack out system, such has the rack, the 2 wheeler dolly, and the large storage box. The other reason is despite the major convenience of being able to stack my other pack out cases on this 1 box I can buy 2-3 of the larger Husky boxes for the same price. I've had my 37 gal husky box like yours for over 8 years and it's still going strong despite sitting outside for most of that time so its hard to swallow that $229 price tag simply for a sake of a little added convenience. Now all that being said I'm a Milwaukee nut like Vince and I will inevitably buy this has well.
I wonder if they faced them the same direction in thought of the drawer system. Say you forget to use the metal latch and your going up some stairs, or walking with it in general. Idk just a thought.
Vince, utilize the mounting holes in the lid to secure the square. Also, I would have preferred the Packout nesting direction to be side-by-side, as opposed to the current setup. The drawer solution is a much better setup and this option would have been best, IMO. Also, I wish the rolling chest was slightly taller-like your Husky.
SSSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK.....CRAZY how much can go in that thing....the THD in my area just brought some in so now I'm gonna 🤔 if I should pick one up. My question is...other than the padlock for locking the lid....is there anyway to secure it to the bed of a truck so someone doesn't grab it
I got this box today and it's nice to be able to carry all my coax and ethernet cable testing and repair equipment, a fan, and a vacuum in one box. I can wheel it into a customer location and have everything I need in one trip. I can fit it in the trunk of my Passat, too if need be. Yes, it's big, but instead of making several trips to carry everything in, I can just make one. Nice.
I don't own or haven't use a packout system. From what i think you are asking about the way they go on. It seems to me that it hooks on to stay it place and if it attached the other way it would have a good chance of falling off when lift by handle. Thank for the video
Why does the second stack face the same direction? They wouldn't be able to get the part out of the mold.
Jarrod you’re always thinking my friend!
You just won the internet for today!
Two piece mold?
maybe its because if its facing outward the second stack could fall off when moving the tool box or going up a stair case
The mold can be built with opposing slides or collapsible cores, but the complexity, size, and maintenance of the injection mold (and cost) go waaaaaay up.
It may be for a future box that is the same length but thinner.
I just love how straight forward all your videos are. No B.S. just real life situations and solutions.
@Jeremiah McKenna good point(s)
I agree that the long lid should be split into two parts. Maybe a DIY.

great idea however for me drilling small holes means I would then want to seal those holes to prevent rain water from getting in.
@@minimonkeyplay You don't drill through the lid. Just through the rib. Still water tight.
Maybe the cleats both latch from the front to prevent heavier boxes from sliding out if you lift the handle higher when transporting it.

12:05. The reason they didn't make it so the other side doesn't come off the other direction is because they didn't want however much weight you have there being supported by just a clip. They wanted the cleats to be holding all the weight, and the clip just to secure the load against slipping out.

You know after watching the whole video at the end you mentioned something that I said to myself why did Milwaukee not rotate the way we stash one side of the box so that the lock is more accessible and after thinking about it the only reason I think it's made like that is because when you're rolling out The Big Box everything will be tilted towards the bottom if the first set of boxes was facing the opposite direction and for some reason you did not make sure it was fully locked the minute you pick it up or maybe while you're going up the stairs yes what everything will be flying down from that big box I think it's pretty obvious the way they made the box so they're both locks are facing upwards when you're rolling the big box with other packouts on top of it
What if? What if they lock in from the side instead of top to bottom?
Framing squares are made of aluminum.
Denis: Magnets, that is a great idea. My framing squares are steel , I went and checked with a magnet, maybe it is because they are 40 years old. They are still good and I use them all the time.
It was at 199.99 like a week or two weeks ago at the newhall store Home Depot store online
Don't bend my Square! Lol !! After two months I made a purchase Milwaukee Pack out . Thank you Vince for your time . Remember Very Cool Gang ring that like 1776 you will have 7 years good luck.
Vince, you have no idea that this was the video I needed this year. Well done Sir.
Glad you like it Erik!
The door story definitely tells me this guy is experienced in the real world. Rock on Vince man!
We got 2 of the packout rolling tool chests and love them one is our trowels and cement stuff the other is our larger rotary hammer and supplies for the cover installations really been amazing
As for the lock/stack system, they are using gravity in their favor to secure boxes in motion.
That is strange that the packout doesn't alternate sides for mounting. Would be much easier and look better as well.
I think they do it that way so if you’re working out of your truck you can access them both from the front or you would have to pull the whole chest out to disconnect the back one
Its to stuff crap in between like coat or a thermos.
Its to make sure your packout doesn't go sliding off the top of it isn't locked all the way.
@@ThunderCat19D Was coming down to say that. If your stack isn't latched in, or a latch fails, gravity will hold your boxes on. If you had some facing down instead of up, those could fall off. It's less visually appealing and a bit less usable as is, but more safe.
@@25Nightops right on the money
I imagine I could fit all my drop cloths in one of the longer boxes. Super weird for you to make excuses for something you think we wouldn’t need.
There's a smaller version that's slightly cheaper. It's more comparable to the Milwaukee.
Get the cybertruck when it comes out
The newer husky ones have the husky connect system built into them as well. And I forget but I think the husky ones are made here in the United states
The new husky connect is only $69
I have the regular 3 piece packout, im a technician for wood processing machinery, the tool box weights around 200lb.
Thanks Bill we appreciate it! 👍🏻
I bought it a while a ago. Home depot top shelf in electric department. I seen some moved down to tool box aisle this week.
This is my favorite video that you have done so far. It's also amazing that my drywall box is a "catch all" just like yours. Only smaller. Nice!
Just my thought.
funny vince what you said about the paper tape..i've worked with both painters and carpenters carpenters always say you gotta use the paper while the painters prefer the mesh. i think for touchups and cracked or damaged rock the painters like the mesh as it has the self adhesive while spackeling new rock with tape coat paper is definitely the best. quick tip for any beginners there is a right and wrong way to put on the paper tape..the middle seam needs to be folding inword towards the seam as it gets pulled in towards the seam when hit with compound if not it wont pull into it
but as for the big roller not sure i like it rather them improve the hand cart so then i can use an xl box with drawers on top
I wouldn’t disagree with you Stephen, I think cost is a big factor!
Should see how much this Milwaukee packout costs in Australia, not worth it
My ridged broke after a year of daily use handle snaped right off I would have been right around the weight rating but still if the Milwaukee lasts longer I’d say it may be worth the cost imo
@@beasyphone That's awesome
Thank you for sharing !!!!!
I did see it at my depot it's pretty big and pretty expensive. Seems very convenient to have for storing bigger tools. Love the video guys great job as always.
I picked one up for 25 percent off. We'll see how it works out
Husky makes a larger one that's super tough for 40$ I have all milwaukee but I'm not paying 200 for that box. It's just not worth that.
@@onlyicedcrybaby7297I don’t see that anywhere I see one for 80 and one without wheels for 35
Thanks Vince for another great video with very good information
I saw that box and the price turned me off.
If each box on top faces the opposite would there be enuff room to open each side at the same time or would the lids bump each other while open ?
I think the reason why the one side doesn't face the opposite direction is that if you put any of the Packout Drawers there, in the opposite direction, and by accident when you life the tool chest up, and you didn't secure the drawers with the locking bar, the drawers will open up and spill your tools and/or materials behind you when you walk.
I'm sure this was debated and thought of by the eggheads at Milwaukee.
This channel is the longest running infomercial in history!!
Suggestion, get two of the packout wall and floor mounting plates for $60, and bolt them to the top of your husky box and call it a day. And then you can mount them alternate ways to access them from each side without taking the boxes off.
I was thinking the same thing. Seems like such a simple idea.
Paint cans…. Lol
So $100 for the husky box then $60 for the mounts and you’re not too far off from the Packout. Also the packout is more heavy duty, those husky boxes are ok if you’re never going to move them
I can see that come in handy for someone who carries a ton of big items. In my situation, backpacks and bag tools is what works for me.
Nice big box... but... I think you can make it pretty heavy pretty quick.
Love the sound FX... major ROFL factor.
Definitely dropped the ball with not flipping the mounting positions for the top stacks. I also think it would have been a slick idea to have the cover split so that you didn’t have to remove both stacks to access something in the bottom rolling tote.
12:05 Because it would tend to slide off when you tilt the entire thing and start rolling specially if there are some bumps on the way
They are $199 at ACE and HD right now for black friday
I have the big one and i love it . I use it as a quick road service box I can keep in my pickup for light heavy equipment and truck repairs I got mine for 199.00

$230. For a plastic box
Spray it red, get a Milwaukee decal, and screw 2 packout mounting plates onto it!
Amen... to hell with the entire packout price! I've had 2 and regretted both times that's why I sold all my Milwaukee and went to DeWalt and Hart

We appreciate your feedback Michael! 👍🏻
I think it would have been a lot better for that price if I would have had the dividers to keep everything in its own compartment
... Couldn't you just screw an adaptor to the lid on the husky to make it adaptable to the Milwaukee system?
I’d definitely put the square inside bottom of lid as mentioned before. Also wanted to say there’s a growing list of mods you can 3D print or have printed for the packout system.
Where would you find these?
Where do I find ?
Lmao Vince entering the building kickin the door down. Great re-enactment
🤣🤣
I think they'd do better if the rolling chest was a DEEP, strong, single drawer. So you don't have to take OFF all the nonsense on top to get to it. Maybe a wheel that extends with the deep drawer to support it as it opens. Then again I also think the standard rolling base should also be a deep drawer. And I agree about the orientation. Imagine a double drawer bottom where you could put the 2 or three drawer system on top and get at Everything.
That would be super functional but it would allow all the weight to go to one side which increases the likelihood of tipping.
There's a version of that husky box that is longer and flatter that I got years ago that perfect for bigger stuff like my nailers.

One could cut the handle off carry tray and notch the tray if they wanted to truly protect it
Hi,
Did I hear correctly, paper tape better than mesh?
Suggestion: modify the lid by hot gluing velcro in 4 places to secure square.. A place for it
I’m sold on the new tote. Gettin’ rid of my huge DeWalt just so I can match. Cool factor = 10
Sometimes the second kinda cool is all it needs to be!
Probably put lockout legs on the Milwaukee to hold a miter saw you'd sell a million.
I'm planning to buy the Husky. The 2x4 sized slots on the lid are brilliant.

I have most of the packout units and absolutely love them!
Maybe they’ll do a larger version?

@@VCGConstruction If they do a deep version, (24-28inches maybe) I'll be the first to buy it.
Yeah, they'll have to make one as large as the Husky box Vince has in this video. However, you CAN buy the cleats and receivers and attach them to the top of the Husky box, and then attach the other Packout boxes to the top of that one.
Man u have some serious energy and very animated i love it
I literally just looked at these yesterday and I have to admit the Milwaukee, even if it has those conveniences for stacking, was substantially too small for the things that you would want a bigger box for.
It does have slots on the inside for you to slide organizers in there
It was hard to find around me.
I have the husky box and a lot of pack outs. Wouldn’t be hard to put a pack out mounting plate on the husky
My large husky boxes don’t owe me a dime.
Vince: “Everything else in here is pretty much trash.”
Chaka Gillis: “Must be Ryobi…”
🤣🤣👍🏻
Milwaukee and Ryobi are both divisions of TTI.
My question is...other than the padlock for locking the lid....is there anyway to secure it to the bed of a truck so someone doesn't grab it
Smash the like VCG! Roll lifter for that drywall
You have my admiration Andrew!
What about Dewalt Toughsystem storage box? Is it better than Milwaukee Packout?
You could put some neodinium magnets on the underside of the lid and put your square up there.
Wow that’s an awesome idea!
It should have been a wagon and the packouts should sit on it sideways. If it set sideways I would have bought it as soon as it came out
