Jinbei joining the crew at that moment couldn't have been times better. He's the only guy there with a huge advantage over everyone else. Taking on a fishman in water is the dumbest thing anybody can do and few have dare to try it. Luffy being one of them.
I was completely blind sided by Kid's crew this chapter. They looked so scary and bad ass that I was completely thrown when they all decided to go all in on the laughing bit with Killer. It made me laugh as much as seeing the weakling trio in full effect again quirkiness like that is what keeps me coming back to One Piece.
My favorite shot was Brook in the pre-toast panel. He usually gets drawn so overly expressive, but he’s just chilling.. hand in his pocket, sword on his shoulder; slumped back with a grin on his face. Like he just realized how badass they all are. Loved it
Surprised that you didn't touch on the part where the kid pirates say that they had to turn into a "cheerful" happy go lucky kind of pirates to not leave Killer alone in his "sickness"...that was subtle and a low key one piece style heart warming moment 💔
I think what Oda was going for with postponing Jinbei’s toast was something to look forward to at the end of the arc. Now everyone has to make it out alive to be a part of this toast, but the entire invasion army has to succeed as well so we, the readers, get to see this awesome party. A way of sort of solidifying and reestablishing the army’s and Straw Hats’ resolve.

i heard tekking talk about an interesting theiry that kaidos son is dead which is why he drinks as much as he does and when he gets super drunk he forgets that his son is even dead. Probably not true but tracks with oda loving to give his villains a sad backstory.
Your latest witty remark to sub to you had me laughing out loud. Never stop with these. They are brilliant! But yeah; this chapter felt like coming home. Six years I've waited to see all the Straw Hats finally together and boy it was glorious. Seeing them interact and take down the soldiers at the gate it felt like experiencing pre-timeskip One Piece. Because One Piece to me was always at its best when all the crew were around and could bounce off one another. I also enjoyed Law coming up with a plan and the joke with Kine'mon and Denjiro was great. And the twist with Kadiou having a son was great. Overall, what a glorious start to the raid and I cannot wait to see where the story goes from this point. Score: 9/10

@@zero3644 sis, I think she didn't WANT TO or ASK TO. We know robin been on her own for MOST of life so shes always been fighting for herself. With her abilities pre time skip, I think that's all she thought she needed to be able to do. Maybe haki just wasnt on her list🤷♀️ I feel like that besides gaining information and meeting more of the revolutionaries as a whole, she focused more on her DEVIL FRUIT and how far she could take it.
Small bet: I think the female Flying Six member is the teacher with snake powers from chapter 919. I mean, she had a good design and a pretty in-theme Devil Fruit (that does not seen to be a Smile), but was so far just a side character we have never seen again. It's pretty Oda-like to throw a character like that to use again later.

Im really glad that the Raid on Onigashima has begun and over Jimbei's present in Wano. All Strawhats are finally together and back in action after a very long time :-) on a sidenote I could see Carrot as a Strawhatmember (another female/mink character would fit), but honestly I think she will end with a Vivi-like Treatment shortly after Wano.

An editor at WSJ got the virus around wednesday so they pushed back the magazine. I believe no one is in critical and they have kept everyone monitored so as not to cause a wildfire. All that coupled with a Japanese holiday and Oda potentially going on break(they force him to take breaks every few chapters to keep him in good health) have estimates at 1 chapter for a while.
It would be pretty nice if Carrot join the strawhats, shes already traveled with them through the whole cake arc, shes also great comrade, gets along with everybody in the crew easily, and is very strong too. Maybe she could fill the role of lookout or cabin girl.

I don't get it either. She has great chemistry with the crew and fits right in IMO. She even is a bit like a female Luffy. Loving to discover new things, she is a brawler, a bit naive and she also jumps into action without thinking. She also would fill another vacant spot on the ship as the lookout. Oda even showed her multiple times in the crow's nest on the Sunny. Considering all of that its actually crazy how much Oda seems to subtly push her as a future crewmember. If she ends up not joining I actually would be pretty surprised (and bummed out).
Well, some people are still against Jimbei joining the crew, or think he will die soon. (For what ever reason, I dont understand it either ) it seems like Someone will always be against something :-/ I personally like Carrot and her Sulong form. The could.be a good adition to the crew. But maybe she will seperate with the SHcrew affter Wano, like Vivi did after Alerbasta

I love how Luffy immediately orders out Jimbei to win the Naval Race, it really feels nice to see how Jimbei casually fits in with the dynamics of Straw Hats and wishes of Luffy. That is I think, another brilliant quality of that specific panel!
I want to point out that it is possible for a mother to give birth to twins from different fathers. They're called heteropaternal superfecundation (multi-father, extra egg) twins. Don't get me wrong, it'd be boss if Kaifo was Katakuri's father, but this is Big Mom we're talking about here.

one thing consistent to be a member is to be an expert in occupation: ... Swordsman(First-mate), Navigator, Chief, Sniper(Gunner), Doctor, Archaeologist, Shipwright, Musician, Helmsman.... so next member must fill a void in a ship role such as, Blacksmith, Cabin boy, Lookout, Boatswain, Quartermaster( Merchant), Scientist, Scholar, Cooper, Infantry, Instructor, Devil Fruit Specialist (DFS), Commando, Assassin. It is very clear that they won't fill up all those position, chiefly, some are already carried out by current members efficiently, such as Franky he is easily a commando( someone uses multiple weapons) besides a shipwright-er, while Robin also act as the Assassin of the crew and scholar as well. Franky covers the cooper role which is someone making barrels. it is also unlikely to see an Instructor on a pirate ship , a retired old pirate giving instruction sounds a journey blunder to luffy and its more likely not to occur especially with SH. Then there are those positions such as a quartermaster(merchant) where a member of the ship is responsible for providing quarters, rations, clothing, and other supplies. these position is carried almost by Nami, and they are doing it fairly well without the need to bring someone to do it. So the positions that could be filled up are : Blacksmith, Cabin boy, Lookout, Scientist, DFS and a Boatswain. These positions currently are not done by any of the members. So it is possible for carrot to be the next SH as the lookout member and Momonuski as the cabin boy but the problem he is a ruler of a country, how come he will go down to be a cabin boy but again he is the son of oden, like a father like a son, leave the country affair to go on adventure with SH, he was on Roger ship before. so it is possible to see him on the ship while his role as cabin boy will be like shanks in Gol D roger ship, such as to protect the goods, and may also raise and lower the anchor. clean up the debris left behind by the crew etc..
How does the lookout differ from the sniper? Seems like Usopp could multitask that role. He has amazing eyesight and his haki can see through walls (im not sure carrot gas haki) blackbeard seems to use his sniper as a lookout
@@Getwright- so true , usopp sometimes fills that position and you gave a good example the blackbeard pirates. but in piracy history both position were held by different people, Ussop is more of a Gunner Sniper, while the blackbeard man could be a lookout sniper. and hence the blackbeard pirates will have to have someone to do the Gunning role, unlike the straw hats they already have Ussop. which brings us to your question, the difference ? first the lookout has a favorite a spot in which makes him ideal for such a position , likes to rests in the Crow’s Nest most of the time, it even become his bed, which is at the highest point in the ship, we saw pedro during the SH voyage to Big Momma staying at it and acting exactly as a lookout, the role of lookout is to checkout for see faraway object and check the weather and report, for example we saw Carrot report to nami about the weather and we saw pedro was the first one to read the news and report to luffy. Coming back to Usopp, Usopp only do it when it is necessary and he has to cover it, so usopp currently he is not adhering to the roles of a lookout like Pedro did neither like carrot. Ussop the snipper is advance in covering the position of a gunner, in which innovating, utilizing as well as maintaining weaponry, the cannons, firearms, and other ranged weaponry the ship contain. he use normal everyday objects, such as a stone, with deadly accuracy and velocity fired from a weapon. and that is mostly what snipers does. Ussop does more of the duties of being the Commando of the crew along with franky. I hope you have seen the difference between Ussop and the blackbeard sniper.
1. That panel with all the SHs was one of the best moments of the chapter! Yes, Carrot stuck out and made me read the panel multiple times. 2. Sanji had the best moment in that short fight ménage. He was just so casual about it. The gloves really are a great addition to his attire! 3. Scratchmen Apoo is more than likely a member of the Flying Six. There’s no reason for him not to be 4. “Numbers“ are probably Smile Fruit users that awakened. Smile Zoans canoe control their transformations, so more than likely Numbers are stuck in their awakened form. 5. Kaido’s son is probably being groomed to replace Orochi as the shogun. Orochi probably isn’t aware of this 6. Orochi still has to reveal a group of super strong samurai on his side. We’ve seen ninja, we haven’t seen samurai.
Perhaps the secondary reason oda is holding off the toast til after the battle is so that if a another member joins besides jimbe they can toast for both of them at the same time
About Killer: you forgot to mention that the other Kidd pirates apparently adopted his trademark "fafafa" laugh in the meantime - atleast it seemed like that to me - which would be an awfully sweet detail for Oda to throw in.

My dream is to see a Luffy and Katakuri team up! That would be beautiful and quite possibly devastating for the beast pirates!!! Also imagine the reactions of the strawhats who were at whole cake island like "we're gonna die why is he here" and the rest of the strawhats as well as Trafalgar and Kid finding out that Luffy defeated Katakuri and they just start freaking out!!!
I doubt that oven is kaidos son. Kaido says that he wants his son to meet and get to know lin lin. If he would be in her crew already then there would be no need to meet her.
One of my big points that might suggest carrot is gonna join the crew, is that all major pirate crews have someone from zou on their crew, and how shes always seen at the crow's nest and could easily be the lookout for the crew.

The reason why the whole Jinbei Kanjuro thing seems unlikely is that Kanjuro's involvement, from his perspective, should have been over as soon as he revealed himself. If he had anticipated the turn of events or prepared anything else as insurance then he wouldn't have revealed himself either.
When I heard the "Kaido thinking about his son" plot thread drop on the airwaves of Joy Boy's review, I immediately thought back to the fanbase assumption that it was Katakuri (and Daifuku and Oven by extension). You are the first I have seen to think Oven was the blood son of Kaido, and not necessarily Katakuri or Daifuku, as you can have fraternal twins/triplets with different fathers. We have seen first hand with Pound that Big Mom drops her "glorified drone bees" like yesterday's refuse after their children are born, so it isn't too far fetched to say Kaido doesn't know he has three sons rather than one. Big Mom would have been 20 when she got pregnant with her first multiple birth, and Kaido himself would be around the same age when both of them were on the Rocks pirates... we all know how that turned out thanks to Garp and a few older Marines during the short Reverie arc. Children out of wedlock and paying alimony for two other sons he doesn't know about anyone? Maybe, but we could easily make that joke about any father responsible for multiple births in the Charlotte family. Hooray! Jinbe gets a hug before we settle into some "all crew members present, after soooo long" action. That hug was my favorite part.
And I just realized that Sanji is wearing gloves. I'm not sure how long those have been there, but that is a genius addition to his character design. If he wants to protect his hands, he should have had gloves on from the beginning, and it goes well with his all black aesthetic. Makes him look like an assassin.
i literally creid when i saw that panel of jimbei being hugged by luffy, nami, carrot and chopper...its just so....WHOLESOME and i was reminded of how much i love all these characters, how much i love them interacting, and of course FINALLY having jimbei be an actual active part of the crew was so emotional, im almost tearing up again...oda, what are you doing to me ;___;

Not only that they need more female members. We got several humans: luffy, Zoro, Sanji, nami, Robin and Ussop. One undead: Brook. One animal: chopper. One cyborg: Franky. And now one fishman: Jinbei. Doesn't hurt to throw a mink into the mix. Carrots proven herself enough and I say she should join the crew along with jinbei. She could be the look out or the scout of the crew. Fast, small. She'd be pretty handy for survey missions.

This is how I think carrot will officially join the crew. Wano battle is finished, all the parting is wrapped up, everyone goes their separate ways with even law going his own direction, leaving the straw hats to finally go on their own without any extras. We cut to the next day and someone like zoro points out that carrot was supposed to go with the minks back to zou, but instead she is with them. Shenanigans ensue and the crew decides it's too late to send her back and have her officially join the crew.
I feel as if oda is gonna let us know about what happened with jinbei after wano or at the end. When everyone isn't sad and all. Loving your videos! Keep them up!
Maybe Kaido's son is a florist who don't like the lifestyle of pirate. He is powerful but don't like his father. I want to talk about the new form of Gear 4th: Tigerman. Why Tigerman? Because in oriental mythologie Tiger and Dragon are ennemi. Hyogoro mean panther and when he use the ruyo his hand is shape like a claw.
I just realized, maybe the reason Oda didn't do the celebration for Jinbei yet is because he plans for Carrot to officially join in after the end of Wano and having two celebrations in the same arc would be repetitive. So instead of two, it'll be one big celebration for both Carrot and Jinbei. I really hope Carrot would officially join in. She's a good addition to the crew both in a relationship perspective and as a crewmember. She's the little sister of the crew and also a fighter.
I'm also paranoid about Oda killing Jimbe now because of the toast. However, I can also see a scene where Jimbe is nearing defeat and thinks about the toast they still need to do, getting the motivation needed for the classic second wind come back.
I found it odd carrot was in group hug shot but but not on coastal attack or almost toast, but i think maybe its because her action shot would probably have to be sulong form and i feel like odas saving sulong moment for whole mink tribe at once. Or im just justifying that shes joining crew when she isnt. Ive wanted her to ever since she left Zou and i felt certain after pedro sacrafice but that was quite a while back now.

The Flying Six were not introduced and we already know for a fact that they exist. Therefore that single panel is nothing world shaking at all. Neither is Kaido's casual reveal of spawn. What will be world shaking is when we find out who it is. In any case I address it later in the review so meh.

But kaido having a kid could lead to a lot of interesting situations such as his son potentially turning against kaido, the introduction of the “ace” of the beast pirates completing our house of cards and a lot of character development for kaido himself. Big mom going off to change could lead to a few different situations as well, so while yes nothing concrete may happen there’s a lot of set up all around in this chapter

Perhaps Kaido forced Kidd's crew to eat SMILE fruits as well? That would make them a truly terrifying crew to face, laughing as they attacked.
I for one also agree this reunion we have all been waiting for. So happy to Lola and Chiffon reunited. It's been far too long.

I also think it's just too early to celebrate. No crew member really joins until the arc is done.
Also, if multiple people join this arc(as some suspect will happen) they would be able to to toast to all of them at once.

With her abilities pre time skip, I think that's all she thought she needed to be able to do. Maybe haki just wasnt on her list🤷♀️ I feel like that besides gaining information and meeting more of the revolutionaries as a whole, she focused more on her DEVIL FRUIT and how far she could take it.

Small bet: I think the female Flying Six member is the teacher with snake powers from chapter 919. I mean, she had a good design and a pretty in-theme Devil Fruit (that does not seen to be a Smile), but was so far just a side character we have never seen again. It's pretty Oda-like to throw a character like that to use again later.

Im really glad that the Raid on Onigashima has begun and over Jimbei's present in Wano. All Strawhats are finally together and back in action after a very long time :-) on a sidenote I could see Carrot as a Strawhatmember (another female/mink character would fit), but honestly I think she will end with a Vivi-like Treatment shortly after Wano.
I really hope Carrot joins the crew

An editor at WSJ got the virus around wednesday so they pushed back the magazine. I believe no one is in critical and they have kept everyone monitored so as not to cause a wildfire. All that coupled with a Japanese holiday and Oda potentially going on break(they force him to take breaks every few chapters to keep him in good health) have estimates at 1 chapter for a while.

It would be pretty nice if Carrot join the strawhats, shes already traveled with them through the whole cake arc, shes also great comrade, gets along with everybody in the crew easily, and is very strong too. Maybe she could fill the role of lookout or cabin girl.

I don't get it either. She has great chemistry with the crew and fits right in IMO. She even is a bit like a female Luffy. Loving to discover new things, she is a brawler, a bit naive and she also jumps into action without thinking. She also would fill another vacant spot on the ship as the lookout. Oda even showed her multiple times in the crow's nest on the Sunny. Considering all of that its actually crazy how much Oda seems to subtly push her as a future crewmember. If she ends up not joining I actually would be pretty surprised (and bummed out).

one thing consistent to be a member is to be an expert in occupation:
... Swordsman(First-mate), Navigator, Chief, Sniper(Gunner), Doctor, Archaeologist, Shipwright, Musician, Helmsman....
so next member must fill a void in a ship role such as, Blacksmith, Cabin boy, Lookout, Boatswain, Quartermaster( Merchant), Scientist, Scholar, Cooper, Infantry, Instructor, Devil Fruit Specialist (DFS), Commando, Assassin.
It is very clear that they won't fill up all those position, chiefly, some are already carried out by current members efficiently, such as Franky he is easily a commando( someone uses multiple weapons) besides a shipwright-er, while Robin also act as the Assassin of the crew and scholar as well. Franky covers the cooper role which is someone making barrels. it is also unlikely to see an Instructor on a pirate ship , a retired old pirate giving instruction sounds a journey blunder to luffy and its more likely not to occur especially with SH.
Then there are those positions such as a quartermaster(merchant) where a member of the ship is responsible for providing quarters, rations, clothing, and other supplies. these position is carried almost by Nami, and they are doing it fairly well without the need to bring someone to do it.
So the positions that could be filled up are : Blacksmith, Cabin boy, Lookout, Scientist, DFS and a Boatswain.
These positions currently are not done by any of the members.
So it is possible for carrot to be the next SH as the lookout member and Momonuski as the cabin boy but the problem he is a ruler of a country, how come he will go down to be a cabin boy but again he is the son of oden, like a father like a son, leave the country affair to go on adventure with SH, he was on Roger ship before. so it is possible to see him on the ship while his role as cabin boy will be like shanks in Gol D roger ship, such as to protect the goods, and may also raise and lower the anchor. clean up the debris left behind by the crew etc..
How does the lookout differ from the sniper? Seems like Usopp could multitask that role. He has amazing eyesight and his haki can see through walls (im not sure carrot gas haki) blackbeard seems to use his sniper as a lookout
@@Getwright- so true , usopp sometimes fills that position and you gave a good example the blackbeard pirates. but in piracy history both position were held by different people, Ussop is more of a Gunner Sniper, while the blackbeard man could be a lookout sniper. and hence the blackbeard pirates will have to have someone to do the Gunning role, unlike the straw hats they already have Ussop. which brings us to your question, the difference ?
first the lookout has a favorite a spot in which makes him ideal for such a position , likes to rests in the Crow’s Nest most of the time, it even become his bed, which is at the highest point in the ship, we saw pedro during the SH voyage to Big Momma staying at it and acting exactly as a lookout, the role of lookout is to checkout for see faraway object and check the weather and report, for example we saw Carrot report to nami about the weather and we saw pedro was the first one to read the news and report to luffy.
Coming back to Usopp, Usopp only do it when it is necessary and he has to cover it, so usopp currently he is not adhering to the roles of a lookout like Pedro did neither like carrot.
Ussop the snipper is advance in covering the position of a gunner, in which innovating, utilizing as well as maintaining weaponry, the cannons, firearms, and other ranged weaponry the ship contain. he use normal everyday objects, such as a stone, with deadly accuracy and velocity fired from a weapon. and that is mostly what snipers does. Ussop does more of the duties of being the Commando of the crew along with franky.
I hope you have seen the difference between Ussop and the blackbeard sniper.
Random side note: You need to do like a podcast or book-on-tape thing because you've got a great voice for this sort of thing!

1. That panel with all the SHs was one of the best moments of the chapter! Yes, Carrot stuck out and made me read the panel multiple times.
2. Sanji had the best moment in that short fight ménage. He was just so casual about it. The gloves really are a great addition to his attire!
3. Scratchmen Apoo is more than likely a member of the Flying Six. There’s no reason for him not to be
4. “Numbers“ are probably Smile Fruit users that awakened. Smile Zoans canoe control their transformations, so more than likely Numbers are stuck in their awakened form.
5. Kaido’s son is probably being groomed to replace Orochi as the shogun. Orochi probably isn’t aware of this
6. Orochi still has to reveal a group of super strong samurai on his side. We’ve seen ninja, we haven’t seen samurai.

One of my big points that might suggest carrot is gonna join the crew, is that all major pirate crews have someone from zou on their crew, and how shes always seen at the crow's nest and could easily be the lookout for the crew.
Who all else has a mink? Big mom has pekoms and law has bebo, are there others? Kidd doesn't have one does he? Or kaido or shanks

The reason why the whole Jinbei Kanjuro thing seems unlikely is that Kanjuro's involvement, from his perspective, should have been over as soon as he revealed himself. If he had anticipated the turn of events or prepared anything else as insurance then he wouldn't have revealed himself either.
I got a Kaido's Son theory, if Killer just appeared in this chapter and Kaido mentioned he has a son, what if Killer turns out to be the son of Kaido?

When I heard the "Kaido thinking about his son" plot thread drop on the airwaves of Joy Boy's review, I immediately thought back to the fanbase assumption that it was Katakuri (and Daifuku and Oven by extension). You are the first I have seen to think Oven was the blood son of Kaido, and not necessarily Katakuri or Daifuku, as you can have fraternal twins/triplets with different fathers. We have seen first hand with Pound that Big Mom drops her "glorified drone bees" like yesterday's refuse after their children are born, so it isn't too far fetched to say Kaido doesn't know he has three sons rather than one. Big Mom would have been 20 when she got pregnant with her first multiple birth, and Kaido himself would be around the same age when both of them were on the Rocks pirates... we all know how that turned out thanks to Garp and a few older Marines during the short Reverie arc.
Children out of wedlock and paying alimony for two other sons he doesn't know about anyone? Maybe, but we could easily make that joke about any father responsible for multiple births in the Charlotte family.

This is how I think carrot will officially join the crew.
Wano battle is finished, all the parting is wrapped up, everyone goes their separate ways with even law going his own direction, leaving the straw hats to finally go on their own without any extras. We cut to the next day and someone like zoro points out that carrot was supposed to go with the minks back to zou, but instead she is with them. Shenanigans ensue and the crew decides it's too late to send her back and have her officially join the crew.
Even more hyped for Kaidous flashback now!

I just realized, maybe the reason Oda didn't do the celebration for Jinbei yet is because he plans for Carrot to officially join in after the end of Wano and having two celebrations in the same arc would be repetitive. So instead of two, it'll be one big celebration for both Carrot and Jinbei.
I really hope Carrot would officially join in. She's a good addition to the crew both in a relationship perspective and as a crewmember. She's the little sister of the crew and also a fighter.

I'm also paranoid about Oda killing Jimbe now because of the toast. However, I can also see a scene where Jimbe is nearing defeat and thinks about the toast they still need to do, getting the motivation needed for the classic second wind come back.
I found it odd carrot was in group hug shot but but not on coastal attack or almost toast, but i think maybe its because her action shot would probably have to be sulong form and i feel like odas saving sulong moment for whole mink tribe at once. Or im just justifying that shes joining crew when she isnt. Ive wanted her to ever since she left Zou and i felt certain after pedro sacrafice but that was quite a while back now.

The Flying Six were not introduced and we already know for a fact that they exist. Therefore that single panel is nothing world shaking at all. Neither is Kaido's casual reveal of spawn. What will be world shaking is when we find out who it is. In any case I address it later in the review so meh.

But kaido having a kid could lead to a lot of interesting situations such as his son potentially turning against kaido, the introduction of the “ace” of the beast pirates completing our house of cards and a lot of character development for kaido himself. Big mom going off to change could lead to a few different situations as well, so while yes nothing concrete may happen there’s a lot of set up all around in this chapter
