We all want to experience the story again for the first time. When we find folks who go through initial viewings and play throughs, it brings happiness to many hearts. It’s like showing your best friend the coolest thing ever, and loving being able to share the emotional ride.

The game is all about that story! The Heavensward and Endwalker trailers hold more story spoilers, while the original (defunct) 1.0, the A Realm Reborn, and Stormblood are all trailers that feature little in the way of spoilers. Also funnily enough, that furball is actually called a gremlin in-game! And yes the bunny ears are real ears for the Viera race! Though there are a few options for headbands with bunny ears for characters to wear (among so many other clothing items and accessories, the fashion endgame is *STRONG* in this game!) The game has a super long free trial up to level 60 and Heavensward (though limits your account features). And as demonstrated by the main character insert (we call him Meteor, btw) in this trailer, you can freely change your class, or Job, and unlock every single available class/Job on one character! Yes even with the free trial, you can grind all your jobs to 60.
You can't unlock the classes from the expansions after heavensward on the free trial. You're limited to the ARR and HW classes until you buy the other expansions.
That trailer is relatively non-spoilery, mainly because it confuses even veterans of the game who have just finished the prior expansion. Some of the other expansion trailers are best avoided if you ever plan to play the game. The original A Realm Reborn (2013 relaunch of the game) trailer is ok, as is the Stormblood (2017) trailer. This trailer is kind of hilarious to watch reactions for, because people who are totally new to the game tend to go "oh wow, that's really cool action, not sure who those people are, does this game have a story?", and people who know the game up through the previous expansion go " wait, who? What? What just happened? Where are we? What? Why did he say that? Wait how can that happen? What's going on?" And then they usually start vibrating out of their chairs. And then you go back after finishing the story for Shadowbringers and watch the trailer again and you're blown away all over again with all the stuff they were able to shove into six odd minutes. Genuinely an an all-time great trailer.
14 has a huge base where people play main story only. Starts slow where it looks like an ordinary MMO with fetch quest but that's all world building for the RPG that kicks the door in. The character changing class in this trailer is to show how you can play every class on one character if you like. Lots of traditional final fantasy classes here.
*One brings shadow, one brings the light intensifies* I have to give the editors and cinematic team credit, because no matter how often I watch this trailer, I always get chills. If you do decide to dig into the game, I say go for it, even if it's just on a trial account. The trial account is very generous with it's content, allowing new players to experience both the base game and the first expansion for free. There's a reason why the whole "Have you heard about the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14" spiel is a meme. Even if the game doesn't grab you at first, push through and work into the first expansion. The base game literally is the base, the foundation that starts to culminate in Shadowbringers.
I always enjoy seeing new folks checking out the world we adventure in. If you decide to start playing you'll find the community to be extremely friendly and helpful to you. I agree with the others that FFXIV is more of and RPG first and MMO second. Having said that you'll find many opportunities to interact with the community along the way

There are many trailers and the unspoken rule is to avoid watching any if you are new to playing the game. Out of context reactions like yours are rare and interesting because even with no knowledge this trailer is hype. With context the trailer is even more hype and actually leaves you asking more questions. The trailers have heavy story spoilers and generally warn people only cause we assume people could remember what they saw. Currently you can play the game at no cost and have Heavenwards and Stormblood expansions. Know that that base game though takes quite a while to ramp up
Final Fantasy 14: Realm Reborn, Hevansward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker (All of these have trailers worth checking out) Also, it is basically a standard Final Fantasy game with an amazing story that you just happen to be able to play online and co-op with friends.
This game is a shining gem among MMOs. It is an RPG first and MMO second. You will feel the jerk back and forth at times, but the story will hold you. It has hundreds of hours of questing with tons of side content as well. Try it for free with the demo that includes the base game and first expansion. Just to warn you, the base game is the weakest part of the game. It isn't bad, it is just not as well voice acted or fleshed out. It is 100% just world building for you. To help immerse you into the story. If you ever would like assistance, I am available.
Honestly i love coming back to rewatch this trailer, it's so good Ff14 definitely has growing pains with the ARR content but man the expansions are so good A lot of the trial (boss fight) themes are amazing, covering a ton of genres
@@SolitarySaturn If you want to see what they can do with different genres of music, you could check out Beauty's Wicked Wiles, Scream, Wayward Daughter, Good King Moggle Mog XII and Rise. None have the sort of plot spoilers you're likely to remember if you end up playing this after FFVI.
for context, the bit where the WoL starts out as an archer, and then moves on to Warrior and Dragoon and so on and so forth is representitive of what the WoL is in each expansions trailer, with the young WoL character being an archer in the 1.0 trailer. It is supposed to be symbolic of the jouney so far.
Its more than the trailer that is epic. Shadowbringers is probably my second favourite game story to date. But you have to have pkayed everything leading up to it to really appreciate it.
Also @Solitary Saturn Gaming don't know if you care about videogames that much however this game in my opinion has the best story ever in any kind of media

A great trailer, but in my opinion, still only the second best FF14 has to offer, after ARR. Incidentally, you should check out the original A Real Reborn trailer... but either go with the trailer, or with "End of an Era" and stay away from "Flames of Truth", if you ever intend to play the game. And if you want to play the game do NOT watch the Heaven's Ward trailer, it contains a major spoiler for an impactful moment near the end of the Real Reborn part of the story.
