Historical context: This trailer revealed Viera as a playable race, but was also the showcase letting us know that Dancer and Gunbreaker were coming into the roster. The job picks in the angel fight are also significant: Archer (Not even Bard, just Archer!) for XIV 1.0, same as he was in the 1.0 trailer, Warrior for ARR, Dragoon for Heavensward, Monk and Samurai for the start and end of Stormblood, and now Dark Knight for Shadowbringers. DRK players like me are amused to note that we eventually got an attack called "Shadowbringer," but NOT within this expansion - It's above 80.
One of those trailers that leaves you with more questions if you played the previous expansions than if you didn't. This trailer is absolutely amazing, and even after almost two years I still get hyped watching it. Can't wait to see you experience Shadowbringers!
TBF Blizzard tried to capitalise the success of FFXIV to try and put it into their narratives for Shadowlands but it fell extremely flat. Trying to make out that their story was coming to a finale "planned since WC3" (which is wasn't) in the same vein that Endwalker was a planned end to the 10-year journey of FFXIV since ARR released (which it was) immediately gained a lot of laughter.
@@thevonya3977also their excuse for why the Jailer was a bad villain was because he was only in one expansion so they couldn’t properly flush him out. Ok lol I’m looking at the main villains for Shadowbringers and Endwalker…which were completely flushed out in one expansion and done well enough.
@@KironX1 exactly, hell both major villains in the Shadowbringers main story were both introduced pretty much at this expansion and we're both very memorable in there own ways. Both had completely different objectives, personalities and demeanors that even now anyone can clearly remember them for who they were as characters. The Jailor was just... Plain evil dude rollout #78 with added paint.
Psybear already in shadowbringers! I remember when you were in ARR like yesterday, i still think the ShB trailer is the best, mostly for the details, the WoL jobchanges in order between all of the jobs he was in previous trailers (Archer=1.0,WAR=2.0,DRG=3.0,MNK+SAM=4.0, to end on DRK for 5.0)
It makes me a little sad that nobody ever brings up the Lost City of Amdapor (Hard) dungeon with regard to this trailer. It's not like there's any specific conclusion one should draw but it's interesting that the White Mage city during the Mage's War employed guardians of this nature when fighting against the Mhachi invaders. I mean, everyone DID do that dungeon right? .... Right?
It was brought up a lot at the time before people knew what was actually going on in the trailer. I guess it's not brought up these days because the amount of people who have done LCoA and not shadowbringers is very small, and the dungeon honestly doesn't have a lot of relevance outside of the usage of the model.
I'm pretty sure he has done all the side dungeons, but honestly it was a random side dungeon from so long ago that immediately remembering it as you watch the trailer is a really big ask.
I always recommend people watch this trailer on yt bc the ingame ver uses your own audio settings so maybe thats why chat tried to bamboozle you into thinking it was the wrong one at the start xD but welcome to shadowbringers psy! :D
Not sure whether to love or hate them for those bombs like casually dropping the names Matoya and Minfilia. I have played through Endwalker and am currently taking a little break until 7.0, but watching this again already gets me hyped again. And the music never gets old. Also, kudos to the FFXIV community for never dropping a spoiler (from what I have seen)!
Some jerks do but chat wipes them out with a flood of emotes so the best the can expect is to be ignored. The worst of course is that mods yeet them with gleeful abandon.
When you play the trailers from the menu it keeps your in-game volume settings so it can really mess up the trailers by having the voice or music too low
WoW tourists past the tourism hype are such a difficult thing to watch. Brutally uninformed despite hundreds of hours of XIV react content, which is made worse by the godawful company of people that live exclusively through their confirmation bias at the cost of straight up lying to the guy. It's painful, like biting down on a very bitter lemon at times.
@@Conner3326 i mean, ive watched several people react to these trailers and they had no problem hearing it. It sounds just fine on my pc too. But whatevs lol
yo, lsgdave here, i wish i had been present for this watch! if for no other reason than to point out when the choir in the bgm sings "riding homeeeeeeee" it actually sounds like they are singing "tinyyyyyy cockkkkkkkkk" which an FC member pointed out to me and i could never unhear and thus was roasted by the menu screen every day for a few years.
"Does Matoya get sexy?" and "What did he just call that little boy?" Had me rolling lmfao!!!!

We did get a sword called "Shadowbringer" tho!
thanks dad
The cinematic trailers use your in game settings. So if your music is high and speaking volume low, it’ll be low for the cinematics.
"Nobody dies in this game."
RiP Moonbredya, a smile better suites a hero.

Every time I see this trailer all I can think is **You cannot change classes in combat**
Just means they had to try that fight a bunch of times.
But, it would be dope of we could... Somehow...
Man, no matter how many times I've watched this trailer, it STILL gives me chills.
My favorite Opening Cinematic and Expansion hands down!
Comparing Shadowbringers and Shadowlands is crazy, the worst WoW expension versus the best FFXIV expansion

Shadowlands was still better than warlords of dreanor
@@zabuza3663 nah, WoD had the lore going for it, Shadowlands don't

This did not disappoint.
They never do xD

just gonna randomly mention that a lot of people have died in this game- off the top of my head- Moenbryda, Haurchefant, Iceheart and Papalymo.

It's Shadowbringing time! Finally you can bring the shadows everywhere.
We are The Shadowbringer NOTED. Can't believe you're in ShB now!
That first minute.
Enjoy yourself.
the Minfilia moment always hit lol
The singing voice is ARR Raubahn
Love me the multiple watch reactions. Is the best way to get the initial reaction and also spend some time cooking

Shadowbringers still owns my heart as my favorite expansion and story.
Oh you sweet summer child.
I love all the 14 trailers, but shadowbringers is just peak trailer to me
Shadowlands was announced after Shadowbringers had released and received critical acclaim
When you play the trailers from the menu it keeps your in-game volume settings so it can really mess up the trailers by having the voice or music too low

good gosh this trailer doesnt get old. You got a goldmine ahead of you, enjoy it. Storytelling at its PEAK for videogames.
The cinematics work off of your settings. You had music too loud compared to voices.
This and WoW's "the war within" are my favorite trailers :D
what are your favorite trailers guys/gals?
For the algorithm! For Psy
KEKW He Doesnt Know KEKW El No Sabe KEKW

Little boy minfilia 😍
The pausing drives me mad
he isnt mumbling, youre just talking too much and arent paying attention...also, to quote your viewers: "boy?"
no, the in game trailer just has very poor audio mixing compared to the TH-cam upload, it’s the same for the endwalker trailer
Telling a react andy to keep their mouth shut is like asking a normie not to call Lalafell children, it just ain't gonna happen.
