I own the FLX10...I've had it for about 3wks. now. I moved from a Numark NVII and I can definitely say I love everything the board is capable of and more. This is my first Pioneer board. Thank you for the great walkthrough.

The legendary NVII board! Man I used to rock that board for yearsssss!!!! It’s a shame that it didn’t get the attention it deserved when it came out cause that board was best bang for the buck and especially with the dual screens! I loved how elegant and yet compact it was but yet felt spacious at the same time. Everything about it was such a good layout and format! Unfortunately as of lately they been slowly dying out since numark stop making updates for them years ago they’re starting to crash and glitch out😢
Used it yesterday. Its a worthy upgrade to the DDJ 1000. Great recommendation. The jogs are tight!
I must say that I am overwhelmed, but in a good way with all these tracks and all these possibilities it's a blessing

This is such a great walk through. I have used it multiple times to figure out how access several of the functions outlined here. If anyone reading this is considering a flx10, do it! It is such a dope controller. I had a 1000 srt that I sold back in September, and this is a great upgrade/replacement. That’s just my opinion.
Finally an answer to the Rane Four.
I like it its very intuitive way to use the fx on the stems. I'm sure pioneer will update their stems to work better in the future.

Cleveland, Respect my brotha, you do a great job. Very informative and insightful. Keep up the great content. I would like your opinion on something… Would you as a DJ prefer the SJ11 and (2) CDJ 3000’s or the DDJ FLX10 or REV 7? This is for a second mobile dj set up, I have the DJM-A9 and (2) CDJ-3000. Maybe a controller would be best to have options, would the DDJ FLX10 be the best buy since it uses both dj softwares or role with a SJ11 and CDJ’s?

So I use a MacBook Air with Ventura 13.3 but I keep getting a error reading MIDI message. Do you have any idea what could be the problem? Do I have to have stems on my Serato already maybe?

Hi, I'm Claudio from Italy, congratulations for your videos which are always very clear and inspiring, I wanted to ask you if you tried scratching on the pioneer flx10 and if you were happy with the jogwheels? because I bought it recently and the jogwheels have a sensitivity problem for scratching, in practice I am forced to apply more pressure than is needed to prevent the jogwheels from continuing to move forward and therefore making me lose the right point of the sample which I use for scratching.
If I keep the pressure on the jogwheel too light, it doesn't stop when I would like to stop it or simply bring the sample back to the right point.
I'll start by saying that I have always used pioneer without any problems and the last controller I used was the flx6 with which I was able to scratch perfectly without any problem... do you know if there are any tips or utilities that allow you to set the pressure on the jogwheels correctly? Just got mine on Friday and I used on a gig that night. Having stem control totally changes the way I mix. Question, does it fit in hard cases made for the 1000?

DDJ-1000 replacement. Looks like they developed it for Rekordbox first and then gave it to Serato to map. Regardless, definitely more robust than the 1000. Workflow implementation is pretty cool for stems being a relatively new thing.
Once again Terry you knocked it out of the park. You and MOJO! Gives me a lot to think about. I've had my 1000 for a few years now and absolutely love it(replaced my ssz)
So I already have rekord box program on my computer would I also have to add serato with a whole new library?
The labeling on the FLX-10 is geared towards Rekordbox. "If" you wanted to convert to Serato, I'd recommend a program called Lexicon. That's what I used to go from Serato to Rekordbox a few months ago. It even keeps your cue points intact. 💪🏽

I was not aware that Pioneer came out with this controller till I saw the Mojaxx review. I enjoyed yours as well. It's great gear. I wonder if Pioneer will come out with a small version like the DDJ 800.
Does the mic set up on this controller carry the reverb or echo effect like the SRT ?
Instrumental music that's I liked to play DDJ - 1000srt , DDJ- FLX10 , DDJ - FLX6 , DDJ - REV7 and also DJ - PLX500 and DJ - PLX1000 professional turntables .
Great info as always! Definitely things l like about this new Pioneer, but I'm actually glad I went with the Rane Four as of now, but would love to see you do a comparison of the two!

Every DJ will go for this one. Honestly the way everyone was looking for a SRT-1000 was scary. But I will say this and the Rane 4 are gonna be the it. I love both however, I like my controller to get air flowing throughout I will get both tho trust you never steer us wrong Cleveland.
Can you help on a tough decision on a Serato software Controller. Pioneer Flex 10 or Rane 4. I want to get into scratching in my DJ sets, I'm a beginner. Please help a fellow DJ out. What one do you recommend in your honest opinion. Thanks Terry C.

You mentioned the FLX10 is about an inch (or so) deeper. I am guessing that was to accommodate for the DMX port as well as the stems buttons.
Probably a dumb question, but are the jog wheels the same size as the 1000? I guess looking at it from the top, because of that extra depth, the wheels look slightly smaller. I imagine someone thought the same thing.
I'm looking forward to the future of the FLX controllers.
I saw a review on another channel that said the jog wheels are the same size (and similar construction) as the 1000.

I really like all the features on the RANE4. I just don’t like the fact that I can’t increase the weight on the jog wheels. Has that been an issue for you?
I think it’s going to be between the RANE 4 in this FLX 10. Right now I have a DDJ-SZ so it’s time to upgrade.
Speaking as a VDJ user who uses the 1000 & 800, all the new features - except the split ( which is now added in their early access) were already there. FX on a specific stem is something i've been doing over 2 yrs now. If i didn't own a 1000 i would hv considered this fasho, but as of now.... i'm good.
I also do believe that vdj would find a way to make use to that DMX xlr output.

I just setup mine, and the Beat FX display is off. There is no way for me to turn it on. Did yours turn on by default?

I was a HUGE fan of Pioneer....until the Rane 4 came out. The paddle FX are much better, as well as the implementation of the one button stem split feature. Also, the Oled screens above the pads are a game changer. I can't see myself using another controller without it

love peoples opnion on this vs the rev 7 i mean there hard to even compare but i have the rev 7 boxed up and this came out later wondering if i should sell and get this i was waiting on the 1000s to come out around covid and it never happened i play alot of edm and i also do open format so i felt the flx10 is more for all genres whereas the rev 7 is soo good but geared towards open format n scratch djs ive done like a edm set on the rev 7 for eg it was great but i didn't get to use the pioneer beat fx as i'm use to when dong this and was limited with effects provided it was stil very smooth to use but makes me wonder what i would have purchased if both units came out the same time

Well, I decided on the FLX10 and I’m really digging it and here getting acquainted with it. I’m on Serato but also looking to check out Rekordbox.
I guess good things do come to those who wait unfortunately for me when are updated to 6.7 and enable track separation in the extension it will not initialise everytime I try to reopen rekordbox it keeps crashing it's been like that since yesterday please help me the stems light is at the end of the tunnel unfortunately it won't initialise and I can't open it thank you for your help

Yess, Recordbox finally added something similar to Trackor fade-in cue/fade-out cue. Also they are finally getting into sterms. Just because this controller work with both Serato and Rekordbox, I will rather get this than the Rev7. Plus DDJ-1000 audio board is defective.
Still would go with the Race 4 over this...and I wanted a 1000-SRT forever. It's the effects for me....not a fan of the wheel, button select system. I want to be able to have control over more than one channel/one effect with the FX select. (Ie: Reverb with Echo). Though I still love the mechanical jogs - minor gripe is why they changed the outside of the jogs to look like the cheaper FLX-6 instead of actual CDJ's?

Great review! You could put a thousand effects on a board and we might only use 3 out of all that. Besides the crowd doesn’t care about effects they only care about the next song. We mix so fast nowadays that we don’t have time to use or need all those features. Less is so much more! Finally, if you are a experienced dj you’ll realize you don’t need all that crap. 😎
Looks awesome! This will sound crazy and this is probably just me, but the changes to the beat jump buttons is a deal breaker. I use 32/16 beat jumps a lot in my work flow, and not sure if it’s midi mappable, but these changes wouldn’t fly for me.

Hey Cleveland. Just bought the FLX 10 and for some reason Serato isn't opening up with it. It says "Error Loading Midi Xml". Tried everything like Uninstalling Serato, reinstalling it, updating driver and firmware, using Serato 3.0.1, 3.0.4 and used two Macs and a HP laptop. Have you heard about any of those problems?

When will the S-11 receive firmware to use these features for Serato & Rekordbox internally its a independent four channel controller disguised as a Battle Mixer. We need Stems Split for Dual Deck 3/4 for the love of God do that shizzt
Hey brother. My question is, if I'm using the FLX 10 in Serato mode can I still use Rekord box to control the lighting aspect of the controller either with the same laptop or another laptop?
It requires another laptop but it is doable.
So if I have one laptop playing serato I can have the other laptop running rekordbox controlling the lights?

Looks legit, decent 1000 hardware upgrade (1000 owner), but not compelling considering the software update. Rb library of course remains top but Serato STEMS use (currently s5 x rane 12s) makes it worth it. The game is changing tho! 2024 is going to be awesome
