I've had my Flx10 for seven months and I have no complaints. I actually love it. But I know everyone has different styles, needs, likes and dislikes when it comes to controllers, so find the one that works to bring out the best in your creativity and roll with it.
It is a solid controller and would work great for any gig. Since this is my personal set up there's certain things that are specific to my style. I didn't think the filter would be an issue but it worked differently than most mixers I've used.
Pachinco is spot on with the Filter. I upgraded from the entry level DDJ-SB3 and noticed the weak filter straight away. It shouldn't sound like a drop in volume and should have more squelch. Also not that I use it often but the Pitch has a problem. As soon as you turn it on it changes the pitch even though the Color FX is at 12. It shouldn't effect the sound until it has been moved off 12 oclock. Lots to love though and I would still buy it!!
@@pachinco_ CDJ'S and djm will always be the best performing set up, as you would expect considering the price difference. Sacrifices will also be made in a controller. This is why CDJS AND DJMs are priced the highest. I've used the XZ, which has the benefit of being all-in-one and has a LCD screen. Performance wise I'm not sure you'll see any improvements. I'd still go for the FLX10. Maybe you'll find the improvement you want in the AZ which I've not used yet.
Cant those filter settings be adjusted within rekordbox software I had a contoller i had to adjust a couple of things to set it up to the way I wanted things to work. Ie when a track was playing if you hit play to pause it wouldn't pause instantly it had a 2second drag to it like touching a vinyl slowly but everything can be change to suit you
Unfortunately there is no way adjust the filter knob on the unit itself. I'm using serato and that adjustment isn't available in the settings. There also was no setting the pioneer flx10 utility. I reached out to serato help and they said to suggest it in a forum for development.
@@pachinco_ yea that makes sense, although serato software comes with the controllers they aren't fully mapped out the same as rekordbox 80/90% of the features work but not everything. You would think as the software is included it would work 100%. Especally now pioneer own serato Have you tried rekordbox just to see if it has the same issue and if it can be changed i know you obviously prefer serato am just thinking test it and it might work different because it seems like a software issue
I gotta give you props on this video because I came from an XDJ-RX3 and purchased the FLX10 when i still had both controllers at home. I wrote a whole thing about comparing the two on Reddit and in the end I returned the FLX10 because i couldnt live with it. The filters sweeps were poor and you hit the nail on the head with it muting the audio when initiated. The FX were also poor as I couldnt hear Reverb at 50% when toggling on and off. Plus the sound quality itself wasnt as good as the RX3. For something thats a few hundred cheaper than the RX3, it had many important short comings that made me return it after a few days. Wish more TH-camrs talked about these things and not praise it as a perfect controller. Cheers!
Thank you! Trying to share the the information i was looking myself. It's been hard to find the performance down falls on some of the gear until you pick it up for yourself. Im glad you, and hope other find this useful.
I'm in the process of purchasing the pioneer NXS2. The one thing I need is the parameter knob for the filter. Unfortunately it's hard to find the NXS2 new wish they still made them. I'm not a fan of the A9 it's over the top with it's features too big and I can't stand the blutooth antenna.
I’ve been using the FLX 10 for a minute now and I know what your saying about the filter knobs idk wtf it does but it sounds odd and took some getting used to, I upgraded from a MCX8000 which was an amazing controller until it wasn’t lol.
I was. Checking flx 10, flx 6 on display of some shop and hardware and jog quality is very bad. I remember 5 years a go ddj Sx Ddj sz Also Ddj sr they have very better quality.i was saying what happened too pioneer
I was looking at a sz if I'm going to purchase a controller but most likely a NXS2 4channnel mixer. Another reason to not going with the controller is to have the turntables close together
These FLX series controllers looks like a great idea on paper. Being compatible with Rekordbox and Serato is a great marketing tool but in reality it doesn't work well with Serato. Would have been better if the released a FLX10SRT.
Honestly is about preference and style. I absolutely love mine no complaints.
Absolutely it’s a great machine all around. It was something specifically to my style in the filter that I couldn’t work around.
@@pachinco_ for sure bro . Great post 💯🤟🏼
@@louielou6294 I appreciate it man ty working on getting more out there🙌🙌💯
Filter sweeps can be adjusted in rb.
yes but im using serato and there wasnt an option
@@pachinco_ use rb.

I got it and I love it
Yes it’s a solid controller I would use for any gig. Just not happy with it for my own set up
Thank you for your honest opinion of not what not to get as a up-and-coming DJ thank you sir-DJ WALKER female from UK
Im happy you found it useful!
First negative comments I've seen. Imo it's a great controller I love it
Out of interest what have you replaced it with?
I replaced it with a DJM-900nxs2 with turntables and CDJ, I have mixes uploaded with this set up. I'm also thinking of getting a XDJ-XZ

So what are you getting instead?
I’m going to go with a mixer preferably DJM NXS2 or A9 to have control over filter performance
If I was to get a controller to replace it would be the pioneer XDJ-XZ
What’s better mixer that is similar to flx10 but better for you?

If u get SZ2 slightly used really good or chake rane product
@@nahileyob4540 yes those are the options I'm looking at SZ2 if I get controller but most likely NXS2 I have a 1000 cdj I can use
ddj1000srt best
99% of people listening to you DJ aren’t going give a shit about “the filtering cutting out all the frequencies”
not needed just a personal preference

i know theres some quirks to it. also noticed it mixing tracks using the eq on the bass. Volume levels would decrease as soon as it was engaged.

is it like this with the filter on the ddj1000srt
Unfortunately I haven't tried that model idk
Rev 5 all the way ❤
the filter on the Rane Four is TERRIBLE as well. I went back to a DDJSX3 :)
Oh wow I sold a 62. I was a fan of the filter it completely cut out. I'm looking out for a NXS2

Roland serato. Denon dj. Pioneer dj is finished.. Any original stuff made In Japan is quality.
Yeah its sad a lot of great companies have fallen. RIP vestax
Why I rock the MPC 2000 before numark took over. I did have a 1000 for a long time I like those as well
so pioneer 1000srt is better than flex 10
ive heard good things i havent tried it myself
wireless mode lol
