RIP Jo Kendall who I just found out sadly passed away back in January (2022) at the age of 81. She worked a lot with John, Graham and Tim on various things and was a wonderful comic actress.
These episodes should be in a textbook with a video to teach people to be comedians because John Cleese and especially Marty Feldman were the master comedians of the United Kingdom................ I'm sitting here on my couch in almost tears laughing so friggen hard
They used to teach comedy at Oxford and Cambridge. But the after communist/fascist takeover they only teach identity politics and authoritariansism there. And authoritarians hate comedy, so it is always the first thing to go when societies are taken over.
I often wondered why he wasn't at least on the peripheral of Python. In movies at least. But I figured out why Feldman was successful after not knowing his history.
The Willetts of Littlehampton sketch had me crossing my legs so as not to pee, I was laughing so hard. What a hilarious sketch! I love comedy about trooping through when things go drastically wrong. This was fantastic!
7:36 checking seat; or in other words- Sheldon from the Big bang Theory. No wonder why I love that Sheldon doing his Sheldon things, it was taken from British comedy gold!
The skit between John Cleese and Marty Feldman in the train was so so friggen funny!!!! NO. 1 Marty Feldman is a legend from being in Young Frankenstein and all the way back to the beginning which I believe was this funny ass show. NO. 2 John Cleese is just as funny, but you know watching the show and I just came across it this show today and I've already watched 3 episodes so far. I can honestly say , this is good clean comedy not the s*** that they put on TV today thank you so much for uploading this for other people to see because I had no idea it even existed I could watch Marty Feldman and John Cleese all day long and laugh my ass off. I will definitely be telling people about this and thank you again
I hate to break it to some of you but this is not in fact Episode 3 of At Last the 1948 Show. It isn't even a proper episode but a compilation of sketches from the show. The only negative about this is how the DVD this compilation is from hasn't bothered to state the fact that this is merely a compilation. The original episodes these sketches are from are: Tap Dance (Series 2, Episode 1) Someone Has Stolen the News (Series 1, Episode 4) Topic: Freedom of Speech (Series 2, Episode 4) Railway Carriage (Series 2, Episode 7) Programme Announcement (Series 2, Episode 4) Studio Tour (Series 2, Episode 4)
I really like the Lovely Aimi MacDonald. Why hasn't she been in more stuff? You'd think they'd at least have brought her forward as a guest star on Monty Python or something.
Isn't the sketch with the funny man on the train used in another episode? I watched a different episode yesterday, and it had the same sketch in it - did they reuse footage in multiple episodes?
When I saw the thumbnail with the four of them in bowler hats and light coloured low-slung ill-fitting waistcoats, I thought it might be tap-dancing Orangemen in their sashes.
Could someone be so good as to translate what The Lovely Aimi MacDonald says as the punchline of the Lord Nelson sketch? I'm having trouble hearing past her squeak. :)
Aimee MacDonald is very lovely...but the curls @ the front of her hair...give the impression she's got a mustashe...creeps me out vvhen lookin@ a lovely lady like that, glad that hairstyle has gone out of fashion. The Jordanian TV sketch has Marty Feldman pulling his best Harpo Marx impersonation every...priceless
LOL if you're Jordanians in 1967 you have to be browned up, wearing keffiyehs and jumping on the nearest white women. I guess these days if they did it they wouldn't be wearing keffiyehs.

Politically Correct Redskin oh do shut up with your conspiracy theories you silly ignoramous
12:36 - Cleese is totally trying and failing to resist a smirk at Feldman saying "Back".
That last Skit WAS AND IS THE GREATEST Skit I HAVE SEEN up to this date.
Marty Feldman's the only comedian I've ever seen who can make John Cleese break character.
I often wondered why he wasn't at least on the peripheral of Python. In movies at least. But I figured out why Feldman was successful after not knowing his history.
I've seen Graham Chapman get him a couple times! "Intercourse the penguin," anybody?
dont understand why these shows dont have millions of views, its groudbreaking

and thank you again
Cleese did that one again with Rowan Atkinson slightly differently many years later. th-cam.com/video/OGFz9gt0-Fc/w-d-xo.html
I used to love Jo Kendall on 'I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again', but I never knew she was so gorgeous!
All those men bursting onto the set --
and interrupting the Lovely Aimi MacDonald show.
Thank you for posting. delightful fun!
Great funniest show I've seen in a long time
I recommend Peter Pan goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol goes Wrong. Very similar humour to that of the studio tour sketch.
"Freedom of Speech" had me cracked up! So like the crap on TV nowadays where interviewers talk over who they're interviewing ALL the time.
note that Cleese re-used the gig later (not sure if in MPFC or How to irritate people)
AND, Freedom if Speech is being flushed down the Political Toilet, especially in the US, UK and AU! we need to put up a fight, like Marty!

Somebody's stolen the news
These are awsome!
Absolute genius comedy.
BRILLIANT
Love Graham Chapman
Thames should have kept this program, particularly before the Friday handover to LWT.
I really like the Lovely Aimi MacDonald.

Totally agree with you, Aimi MacDonald is gorgeous and should have done
more shows on TV... What a great shame.
Love this show but the skit at 15:11has not aged well, for two obvious reasons.
Isn't the sketch with the funny man on the train used in another episode? I watched a different episode yesterday, and it had the same sketch in it - did they reuse footage in multiple episodes?
I saw that one too.

Singing the fishnet stocking my father wore
23:04 One... Two... Five! ;)
I wonder how they did the dance part at the beginning, seems that they edited their heads onto dancers' bodies.
On female legs; or they had great legs for blokes, all of them! 😃🇦🇺🇬🇧
Not at all. They each had, in reality, perfectly loely legs of their own. No tricks here.
@@rabokarabekian409 Still looks fake in my opinion...
Krikeys, John Cleese looks about 23 ...!
He was 27.
6:32. NO BLOODY WAY you can kill someone that quickly with a broom LOL!!!!
14:21 So Dave was already a thing
Does anyone knows if the intro song have a name?
+Edvard Grieg I believe it's called 'Bye-bye Blues'
19:55 I haven't laughed like this in years...
Could someone be so good as to translate what The Lovely Aimi MacDonald says as the punchline of the Lord Nelson sketch? I'm having trouble hearing past her squeak. :)
"It's a bit bold really, and it gives a lady *such* a bad name!"

Frankly I think a good moustache adds a great adorability to a cute blonde.
@@lpsp442 Seconded, especially if a dark patch.
Charmingly absurd.
More of these programmes less of our parasites of MPs .
Just the two of us and an arab.
