With enough stagger & knockdown Maelstrom can fling even Living Armors into the sky and make them take extra fall damage. DD has some of the best spells of ANY RPG, period.
Yep. Sanguine would result in nothing learned. Can't very well observe something if it dies in seconds. Maelstrom is a favorite of mine, great for crowd control and does pretty good damage on most. Best display of magic in a game indeed
Oh I love this one. The intrigue of a game play where you have to actively prompt pawns to get a game breaking result is intoxicating. I wonder though, would it be best to have a red vocation as a pawn? Asking because when you were facing the LA they downed pawns a couple of times and chased others as they were casting. I could see a scenario, namely the forgotten city, where eliminators and LA gang up on a team like this from below while those stupid Wyrms attack with spells from far across the room. Would a high health, high damage fighter pawn help a team like this or do you need 3 sorcerer pawns to make the spell sync formula you presented work? Either way, fantastic job with this vid. This game’s possibilities are amazing
That's why I had it to where not every pawn had the same spell. So if Bolide is casting, there is 1 pawn that is not casting Bolide, and if she has Miasma (quick cast) she will gain the aggro and keep them away. And after the spell lands, the aggro will change, and then that Miasma pawn will have safe time to cast a sync spell, while another pawn is gaining aggro. Tough to explain, but as long as 1 Sorcerer is not syncing, and has a quick spell to gain and keep the aggro for the remaining party to cast, then all flows pretty well. You will see with the Living Armor, we still came out on top, even with Rusted staff and Common staff with a selection of spells that would leave LV confused as to who they should focus on, and you see all LV bee-line to the same aggro pawn.
Ah now I understand. Yes, I do recall that the LA would go after a pawn, then get redirected by one who wasn't sync casting. Brilliant strategy, now it makes sense that all pawns can't have the same sync spells.

I use filmora wondershare, and in there it is all good and leveled, but I will be more brave with the audio level and see what comes
@@Nihil0.0 No worries, I caught one of your builds on Friday a couple days ago and it's made me splurge on DD all weekend and hoping for a DD sequel that we'll probably never get. It's great to see a community that is still finding ways to play this seemingly flawed by fantastic game
I've been doing a 4 man sorcerer team that spell syncs. Practically destroys BBI, the exception being Daimon naturally. Actually its been the most difficult thing to do vs him. He's suppose to be weak to light, but Grand Seism barely scratches his health bar for whatever reason.
Daimon can be tough for 4 Sorcerers that don't spam holy focused bolt. Seism is a great choice for when he is doing his charge, after vortex as it has awesome knockdown power. Gicel does better over Seism. I would skip Bolide as well, and Fulmination as that really thrives with a Strider. Try Gicel out.
I’m still a noob level 62 with over 100 hours and dottering slowly through the game. This demonstration was intoxicating. Wow. I didn’t know you could create more than one pawn. I hope my PS3 DD:DA has that feature. I fear it’s PC or PS4 only. Maybe ng+? I’m loathe to look up too much and spoil. Guess I’ll wait to find out.
I am VERY disappointed with you Nihil! You should have named this video - "The Orchestrator"! How could you not see this?! All jokes aside - another fantastic video from the master of DDDA!
Once again you show me something else I didn’t know about this game lol now I really need PC so I can have multiple save files and make a full magick character
Its possible we'll get a DD2. Capcom stated if dmc5 hadn't been made, they wanted to do that. Just gotta wait a while now. I cant imagine they'll pass up a co op oppertunity, I just hope it wont be an mmo personally.
I could just sit down and watch a 2 hours long video on this subject hahahahha man, I love that vocation I never really use seism tho, It's always maelstrom, bolide, gicel or fulmination
You probably remember my 4 Sorcerer's tour, that's an hour long. I guess I may have another hour to go for you Ed. I like Seism quite a bit. I use it for Dragons especially Cursed Dragons, and Daimon takes high damage from it as well. Fulmination is one that I never liked. I like it on a Sorcerer if I am a Strider, but any other time, it seems not very useful in my scenarios. Gicel is a nice one, but I like the damage/cast ratio of Frigor better. But. That's the point of the game. What doesn't work for one player, is great for another
5 ปีที่แล้ว
Yeah, I do remember watching it but I don't remember how it went, gonna watch it again anytime. Fulmination is a "must have" for me, poor elder ogres don't even stand a chance hahaha
Hey, I want to maximize the damage of a late game mystic knight and I love to minmax things. Would you suggest playing as sorcerer when leveling for the magic, as assassin for the strength or 50/50 in both?
The "best" for MK is the 605/606 split, which is Mage to lv10 Assassin to lv97 and Sorcerer to lv200. But if you don't enjoy playing as other vocations, just play as MK. MK gets a fair split and your stats are such a small part of your overall numbers. stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#am000000000003005700000000000064000000
@@Nihil0.0 Thank you for that quick answer and that very useful link! I enjoy playing as any vocation, so I don't mind playing as assassin or sorcerer. I think the issue about the MK is the versatility - he can work with either magic or strength, depending on playstyle.
Awesome way to stall the enemy with long duration spells such as Maelstrom, then making a run for both Seism and Bolide and repeat. But my question is: Do Rusted Staffs and Archstaffs do any good against the same enemies and how does Torpor apply to spellcasting weapons. I got curious after watching this recent Spellsync vid and the other on Debilitator build
I was carrying a Rusted staff, and a pawn had a Rusted staff, while the other 2 had Common Archistaff. Rust does pretty well, especially with Maelstrom. The Thunderwywern was torpored for most of the battle, which gave lots of extra knockdown time to land heavier damage. Miasma is a great way to induce torpor with the staff
@@Nihil0.0 awesome. I was thinking to take a advantage of making a glass cannon magick archer and equip it a rusted bow, my pawn coming as a ranger with no daggers and just bow focused skills, a sorcerer wtih miasma and any other skills and full blown fighter with perfect defense and some attack skills. It seems it would work, because a long time playing dragons dogma, on the first run its plain focused which weapon deals more damage and which equips best on defense, after getting in touch with the 2nd run after defeating dragon you show more interest and expertise on know which combo of armor and weapon do good without dealing too much damage focusing on dealing effects for pawn get a easy target of sorts... i never gave any consideration to the Rusted weapons, but they are by far the most OP weapons in the game knowing how they work, of course not all enemies and BAMs are going to be susceptible to such effect. In BBI you are punished to learn how monsters work and how their mechanics work, which is frustrating when you encounter Reaper or Garf or Cursed Dragon for the very 1st time
The rusted spellbow is an unfortunite one though. The only way to induce torpor is with the single core arrow. None of the skills will induce. A rusted staff with Levin or Perdation is a good choice. Or rusted daggers and dazzle blast. I am already a big fan of perdation though. Very cool spell
@@Nihil0.0 no worries, i can still get the Sorcerer to do the trick. Perdition is the skill that petrifies? Sorry, i really don't recall. I love using Miasma with Bolide if its on Torpor even more fun
I have heard that you have to change your vocations in the game to maximize your stats like if you wanna focus on say, magick build aka sorcerer. But I have making my main pawn focusing on strength, I started out as Ranger and now he's warrior but after watching this. I don't know anymore cus this is so dope. Would you say that it's too late for me? since from lvl 10 to 100, the stats received depends on your class is the most important since it gives more than after lvl 100. Thk you in advance!
Ultimately you'll be fine. You will just need to ensure the weapons are the highest, with the highest upgrade. And actually, having those high defense stats from Warrior will ensure the Sorcerer to survive very well.
I'd like do get Madeleine's set, but i never bought the DD without the expansion. Instead, i started it directly with Dark Arisen for PS3 =< At least that was the only thing i missed in terms of content
@@Nihil0.0 Go ahead and say "Gorgeous breasts, milady", hahaha XD I play with female arisens, btw. But i know you can't have the same boobs size as Madeleine does on her Ladytrek's suit, because it's fitted for her specifically. If there was a way on someone's PS3 unlocked to send the set to my pawn thanks to a hack, i would like to know. But i guess there's no way to do it
😩 I do not want to start my sorc pawn alt over bc I learned all the advanced forms of the spells... maybe I’ll make a 3rd alt? Why not! I can’t get enough of this damn game 🤪
Ugh. Me again. Sorry man I'll try to limit these questions. Can spell syncing be done with yourself and pawn as a duo. No other members in party? Thanks so much for your help
Nihil, I've been meaning to ask you, do you use cheats to insta level your characters, so that you can make a video about various classes, or are you actually wasting time, by leveling characters from zero to 200? I mean, if you do power level, don't you get tired of that process? EDIT: Wait a sec, all your companions have the same amount of stats. So, that means you have at least over9000 profiles in Dragon's Dogma? Daaaayum. Now that's dedication.
I have about 30 save files with different stat builds, different gear. And then I have 3 accounts on steam that I can switch between as well. Playing around 3000 on PC since 2016 release, so it adds up quickly. The last time that I actually leveled a character was over a year ago
@@sunbro3184 I got a Xbox one and a PS4, I bought the game for both systems one for physical damage another for magic. I would kill for the DD Online to come over here to the states.
Yaha. It's like the cult of Salvation. Destroy and create. Rebirth and grow, only to be destroyed for a new rebirth to follow. I have studied nihilism, among many many other phylosophies and religions, but ultimately I still cannot believe something to come from nothing, but when you think of that something that did create, you ask "what created that.... and then what created that" and eventually it has to end with a start, or start with an end. Maybe it's just an endless cycle after all.
i love the content, question about syncing all pawns.. did you create other accounts to make sure the team was perfect enough to do this explanation? if so kudos.
Yep, multiple steam accounts. These are my pawns that I trained and equiped. With specific skills enabled, specific Inclinations and guidance. You can still still get a good sync team with online pawns, just gotta sift through the criteria to get it.
Exequy is very handy. I think it works on almost anyone, but I don't think Daimon. It charges faster to those who are weak to dark, like Elder Ogres and charges slower to those who resist dark, like Undead. You could stat a Ranger with the highest stamina of 5000, and use thise skill on everything, until you can't, and require less shroom inventory.
@@Nihil0.0 imagine if you can spellsync exequy, it would cut the stamina cost greatly. Exequy dont benefit from any spell cast reduction effect or your magic damage, so getting full ranger to 200 then switch to sorc just to cast an exequy would be great XD
For support Mage, i go with 1Guardian 2 Medicant 3 Nexus, and for Sorcerer, I usually go with 1Challenger 2Utilitarian 3Mitigator, or switch mitigator and Challenger. But this is just me, and that works for me
Might be dumb but i have to ask . Can some of your videos with builds/sugestions be aplied to dragon dogma online aswell?im new in ddo so dont know much about how diferent the games are or if they have any similar gameplay elements in common
Not so much. Or at least not as much. The vocations changed greatly in Dogma Online, and the mechanics have changed alot as well. Stagger and Knockdown has changed to a cumulative thing rather than animations or timing. Dogma online is quite different. Also the stats have been removed in Online, you get the same stat progress as any vocation, with level and and vocation level separate.
I've noticed recently in your videos you've been showing off a lot of the base variations of spells and I was wondering if there was a program or something you use to revert the skill back to the base level, or if you just have to be very selective about which skills you level up
The Hooks mod you can unlearn certain skills. There was a long time ago when I decided to not have Magic Agent and not always have Focused Bolt. But for the spells, honestly I have a good set up with my save files. When I open the save, my pawn is naked with no skills purchased, so I just use her dcp to get the skills that I want her to have and when I am done, I can bring that save file over again and then again she is naked for customization. PC you can do this easily with the Hooks mod.
@@Nihil0.0 Responding to a 4yo video in 15 minutes, you are the GOAT ddda youtuber, cant wait what you have in store for us when dd2 comes around. Remember watching your vids when I was a kid playing this game on my xbox360, thanks for keeping up with it for so long.
Aye it is. Dragon's Dogma consists of the main story in Gransys, and the Dark Arisen DLC is the Bitter Black Isle extension dungeon. I have never heard a stupid question. That doesn't exist Chris
8.00 i don't get this part about the spell sync: why 2 follows you while the third one is not but it's ready for another spell? why that pawn doesn't just spellsync with all the 3 of you?
Pawn #1 was casting Maelstrom with me, and pawn #2 was still casting Seism, but once Seism was finalized, pawn #2 jumped in on my Maelstrom progress which left her with an instant cast of no cast time. Pawn #3 did not have Maelstrom so she was on her own with her own decisions. I began to cast Seism but canceled it to begin Maelstrom, but pawn #3 and pawn #2 continued with the Seism cast, while pawn #1 was waiting for me to begin Maelstrom, and then the cycle continues. 1)Cast spell #1 2) cancel 3) cast spell #2 4) cancel 5) cast spell #1 and so on. Since not all 3 pawns have the same spell, there is always one pawn that will be able to pick up on my spell (whatever it is)
@@Nihil0.0 but if you do as you say to start casting a spell and then cancel it basically you are always attacking with your pawns spells, not yours, right?
because if that is the case you can finish the whole game at level 10 using unupgraded weapon, commanding only your pawns...and that would be pretty damn cool to see xD
Hands down best dragons dogma content on all of TH-cam

- I join in one last time and release a lvl 3 Bolide, totalling in one lvl 1, one lvl 2 and 2 lvl 3 Bolides for the casting time of one lvl 3 Bolide
I found this to work best when my pawn doesn't have a Wyrmking's ring and/or articulacy, to account for casting animation and/or repositioning.
That is a good set up. The Wyrmking ring is helpful with increasing cast time, so that you can land 2 with their 1. A great set up indeed.

@@Nihil0.0 never real thought to try that, I'll give it a go :)
Great video
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for checking it out CincoKees
the music was giving me Assassins Creed flash backs lol
I’m still a noob level 62 with over 100 hours and dottering slowly through the game. This demonstration was intoxicating. Wow. I didn’t know you could create more than one pawn. I hope my PS3 DD:DA has that feature. I fear it’s PC or PS4 only. Maybe ng+? I’m loathe to look up too much and spoil. Guess I’ll wait to find out.
You will need multiple ps accounts. That's how I do it on pc, with multiple steam accounts.
Nihil0.0 Ahhhhh ok. Then you hire your own creations. Thanks for the tip.
I am VERY disappointed with you Nihil!
You should have named this video - "The Orchestrator"! How could you not see this?!
All jokes aside - another fantastic video from the master of DDDA!
ahhhhh, That would've been a good title, or Conductor. Dang it!
Thanks Udi
@@Nihil0.0 Yup! Conductor works too. Your other video - the climber? Could've called it Jumpin' Jack Flash... I am rolling here! :)
Once again you show me something else I didn’t know about this game lol now I really need PC so I can have multiple save files and make a full magick character
Awesome Riley. I am happy to hear. Multiple saves is very convenient, and also multiple accounts. Having access to 3 of your own pawns is so fun
This game needs a real multiplayer mode.
Its possible we'll get a DD2. Capcom stated if dmc5 hadn't been made, they wanted to do that. Just gotta wait a while now. I cant imagine they'll pass up a co op oppertunity, I just hope it wont be an mmo personally.
Game of the century
I could just sit down and watch a 2 hours long video on this subject hahahahha
man, I love that vocation
I never really use seism tho, It's always maelstrom, bolide, gicel or fulmination
What doesn't work for one player, is great for another
Yeah, I do remember watching it but I don't remember how it went, gonna watch it again anytime.

I personally like a Magic focused MK, mostly because I like the Ripostes and use them frequently
@@Nihil0.0 hmm. Maybe I'll go for pure magick following that advise. Maximizes MK and MA skill damage. I've played enough with daggers, swords etc.
That K-Pop intro walking in sync
Perdition will induce Curse, and if a Rusted staff is equipped, Torpor as well. Magic Archer exclusive skill
@@Nihil0.0 Thk you so much. Im so glad I found your channel.

I'd like do get Madeleine's set, but i never bought the DD without the expansion. Instead, i started it directly with Dark Arisen for PS3 =<
At least that was the only thing i missed in terms of content
Madeleine's outfit is a nice one. Vibrant in color, accentuating of the female anatomy, respectfully of course, and goes great for Sorcerer.
@@Nihil0.0 Go ahead and say "Gorgeous breasts, milady", hahaha XD
I play with female arisens, btw. But i know you can't have the same boobs size as Madeleine does on her Ladytrek's suit, because it's fitted for her specifically.
If there was a way on someone's PS3 unlocked to send the set to my pawn thanks to a hack, i would like to know. But i guess there's no way to do it
@@Nihil0.0 Oh, and the Heaven's Key that she carry might go well with the set too
Yooo, I didn't know you could even do something like that 👀 definitely might be doing this next new game +
Very helpful for leveling, and very fun to do
Having a hard time getting paws with lvl 1 spells. Meaning I have to be the one to release the spell and do less damage
😩 I do not want to start my sorc pawn alt over bc I learned all the advanced forms of the spells... maybe I’ll make a 3rd alt? Why not! I can’t get enough of this damn game 🤪
There you go. That's the ticket.
Ugh. Me again. Sorry man I'll try to limit these questions. Can spell syncing be done with yourself and pawn as a duo. No other members in party? Thanks so much for your help
Not a worry Maurice. Just 2 Sorcerers can spellsync. But when you have 4 spellsync sorcerers it is non stop spell landing.

Nah, Nihil is nothing.
No, literally, nihil is nothing 😁

Oooooo. Getting deep. Everything came from nothing, so they say.
Nihil0.0 The religion of nihil.
Become as you were meant to be, join us and cherish our lord nihil.
I actually playing something similar but it’s just me and the pawn it’s difficult but fun
Does this work with all spells or only the ones used in your example?
i love the content, question about syncing all pawns.. did you create other accounts to make sure the team was perfect enough to do this explanation? if so kudos.
Yep, multiple steam accounts. These are my pawns that I trained and equiped. With specific skills enabled, specific Inclinations and guidance. You can still still get a good sync team with online pawns, just gotta sift through the criteria to get it.
Nihil0.0 yea it’s a shit storm on ps4 finding the right pawns for me but I will be doing multiple accounts now that I see it’s worth it.
Is seism good for anything? I never seem to get anything out of it :/
Sure. Flying Dragons hate Seism. Living Armor hate Seism. Daimon hates it too. I love it
Is exequy applyable to any situation? That spell is annoying but effective if you manage to cast it.
Exequy dont benefit from any spell cast reduction effect or your magic damage, so getting full ranger to 200 then switch to sorc just to cast an exequy would be great XD
nice job buddy. ;)
Thank you Sam
What do you recommend for a mage/sorcerer pawns inclination?
For support Mage, i go with 1Guardian 2 Medicant 3 Nexus, and for Sorcerer, I usually go with 1Challenger 2Utilitarian 3Mitigator, or switch mitigator and Challenger. But this is just me, and that works for me
Nice clip ;-) good job
Thanks Granata

Can your pawns spell sync of each other or only of the arisen?
Sorcerer pawns will sync with other Sorcerer pawns

how do you get more than one personal pawn?
Multiple accounts. I have 3 steam acounts, so I can rent my own pawns and gift myself items.
Is this game Dragons Dogma:Dark Arisen? Sorry if this is stupid question. Thank you for all your videos.
Right, you start casting and the pawns follow. Then cancel and just be the conductor. Never need to actually use any stamina.
