Wow, WTF. That's an eye opener. I always had a full skill loadout on my pawn and got pissed when they didn't fight the way I want. My ranger always went daggers when I wanted them to use bows. Awesome video. Thanks!!
@@Nihil0.0 when i dont give a dagger to my ranger she just puts the bow on her back and walk around a little, then pull her bow and attack a bit, then put it on her back again, when i give her a dagger she actually goes and attacks the enemy instead of idling around with the bow on her back. Inclinations are Challenger/Mitigator/Utilitarian, would you know why she is doing this? i wish she would just spam ranged attacks, either skills or basic attacks.

The first drake I fought (the one near the shadow keep), took me three ingame days to beat. My pawn was taken control of and went down countless times. Twas a trying batyle for my lvl 15 group, but a victorious one. DDDA taught me that that there are some places one should not go to if not lvled or geared enough.
ah. Yeah Ranger's best skill is 10fold as a Pawn, so I just let them have that and remove the daggers. What else can they do at that point except use their best skill over and over again. And same with Strider, their best skills are Fracture Dart and Splitter
Tip for those using strider main pawns: if you want them to stop hitting ceilings with fracture dart, unequip their bow. They'll spam the hell out of brain splitter when you do this. Reequip the bow if you want them to fracture dart.
Bro nice content, you totally changed my point of view, feels like I've been playing two different games before and after seeing your videos. I noticed that you don't recomend utilitarian with the ranger build, I tried it and he's not using the blast arrows at all. When I swap to strider, also changing inclinations, he starts using em. Also in the ranger version, he starts climbing without daggers and becomes useless (I'm using exactly the inclinations and augments you recomend). Any sugesttions? Are you playing dd2? I feel like I'll wait for the hard mode to truly enjoy it.
I have a sorc pawn. And I equipped all the long spells such as bolide and stuff like that (I know awful) but I also have holy affinity on her as well and the reason I like that is because now whenever I press "help" she instantly starts casting holy affinity so I love her in BBI
So pioneer gets your sorc pawn to keep her distance? Good to know, my pawn has the bad habit of standing a bit too close to the enemy and interrupt her casting whenever they target her... And she starts casting bolide just to kill off a few goblins...smh
Same but I also used them as damage. I was using a support before but I mean...You really don't need them lol. And yeah they you don't need them anyways plus they get in the way even if they don't have guardian on sometimes.
Nihil I have suggestion for a video. Would be usefull and complimentary to make a clarifiction on when to use striking and when slashing, which enemies and parts get higher damage from which type. Also I would love to see explanation on how really shields work, meaning the upgrade on 3 stars and above with improved blocking ability, how does it translate to augment for perfect block and if it works together at the same time or is it pointless.
The periphery augment makes a huge difference. Other than that, just upgrade the shields, however don't expect a tier1 shield to be able to perfect block Elimiator's side swing or Elder Oger's side swing. I was working on a block video awhile ago, but it became too long to go over all of tge thresholds when considering many enemies. But Periphery is very worth it. And tge same with slash and blunt, with so many enemies to civer that video would be too long. I touch briefly on it in my Warrior scematics vid though.

Great video. Quick question, though: Would instant reset somehow interfere with a pawn's damage dealing? Not that I've seen them using it all too frequently, but it wouldn't hurt having this skill on them, or?

Totally awesome seeing a pawn take down the Daimon. Of course for me, seeing a sorcerer pawn knifing through enemies with constant casting was way cool. One question though, miasma works so well and is a fast cast skill, why didn't you add it for that one?
I think if you look back at your pawns that you see cast Miasma, they rarely cast it efficiently. In that, they miss or the fog only lands for a couple of seconds. At least in my observations, Miasma on a pawn is minutely successful. With Maelstrom, Bolide and Seism, it's such a large AOE that a pawn can't fail. And I do have the next video as "SpellSync" build. Which will look at the core of SPell syncing and one of my pawns will have Miasma but since I and controlling the spells that they do she never used it. And yeah, it was nice to see a Ranger solo Daimon, without any curetives
Yeah, you're right about Miasma with pawns come to think of it. I recall them missing basking saurians lol Oh a spell sync build? Awesome. I will definitely be tuned in to that. Love this series. Your imagination and execution are 2nd to none.
Disagree. Seism is nearly useless. Miasma is a huge help w phys resist enemies like living armor. That second part of the fight w them goes so much faster w miasma. Its the quickest casting spell too.
So stamina is most important for a ranger pawn, what if i have like 45 levels of warrior in pre-level 100 though for some extra dmg? Bringing stamina to 4k ?
Challenger Pioneer and no daggers equipped? I probably would have never thought of that. I wanna make a really kick ass ranger pawn, but I always had trouble with them wanting to mount and slash as opposed to just using their bow.
I do have a Support that I am working on, should be this week. Aggro .... not much to say there, just aggro goes to the last heavy attack. Shield summons or WarCry can try, but a follow-up heavy attack is the best for getting and getting aggro
I always made a mage for my pawn so I could be healed in battle. Thinking of trying out one of these ranger pawns with ten fold! Damage was outstanding! Will start fresh game no glitch or quick levels! Just want to enjoy the game but focus on my op ranger pawn 😁
Dont forget that Anodyne heals u but it ALSO damages the undead. So when she throws out a healing spell in the middle of battle, its likely hurting the enemies around as well as healing u.

I played it back in 2017 for maybe 8 months and I enjoyed it until I got close to the level cap, then it truly became an MMO and that was a big flaw for me. I like the new vocations alot, but I didn't like how important the weapons mattered over tactic and skill
I recruited a pretty awesome lvl 6 strider on PS4 named Sera, she has GF oblivion set and GF rusted weapons. I never see her get hit by anything unless my other pawns get near her or drakes do their roar that instant kills pawns. Actually she sometimes dies from fall damage, but only when the big flying enemies take off while she's on them. Nevertheless she's ridiculously good for a lvl 6 strider and is pretty much guaranteed to torpor everything with her weapons. Don't really min max in any game, though I do like watching videos of people that do. I know wh1sper123 proves we don't need to min max to go through the main game or BBI in his nonsense series which are fun to watch to. But yeah I just do whatever I think is fun, idc about being optimal nor do I pay attention to the meta. And by don't pay attention to the meta I mean I literally don't know or care what the meta is in any game whatsoever
True, same here, the only reason i check the meta is to see the op and overused builds and deviate from them. I don't want to use the same build as everyone else. I am playing as a Warrior with 3 sorcerer pawns, an ice, a fire and lightning specialist. It is super fun
Wow, i must say, the stagger damage caused by blast arrows and tenfold flurry is a simple yet great combo... the final boss its not even moving, constant high damage. Nihil, what is the best class (with specific build for him) for making a serious dent on the Reaper, he seems too tough at the normal appearance, im somewhat afraid of his sleeping spell. Because i mentioned earlier that i made a glass cannon magick archer but the skills dont seem to get through, maybe it could be the equips idk. Just pointers to the only beast in the BBI i never ended before lmao. Thanks
Magic Archer does well with 4 Magic Rebalancers and Ricochet in a tight hallway. That will kill Death pretty good. The 10fold Blast Arrows as well. Death's sleeping spell is only active for those first few seconds, so after that you are safe, just trigger him to do the lantern and then get away, while he is in purple sleep mode release your attack

Any advice on which augment is best for the more annoying sub bosses, such as Big Floating Eye, Garf (pardon my french for these enemies because i dont remember the names of the big dogs with outrageous speed and damage), Hydras, Wyrms, Wyverns and Cursed Dragon... would appreciate as well if you had a video with pointers on how to defeat the Ur-Dragon easily with class (sorry if you already have this kind of videos, because magic classes are my focus, so i go for Sorc, Mgk Arch, Mage and Mys Kght)
Well, MK and MA are pretty easy. Dodge roll has i-frames and the Shield is perfect for so many. Augments are not so specific, but Stability is great for Dragons. I do have enemy attack pattern videos which covers many of them. th-cam.com/video/Oe_JRCF4kSg/w-d-xo.html
Id rather have a sorcerer pawn w holy focused bolt than maelstrom or seism. Especially if going in bbi or against the UR. Maelstrom just gets in the way too often. Makes it impossible to see whats going on and bigger enemies wont be stunned or too badly damaged by it. So can cause problems in bbi like in the black abbey or the rotunda
I’ve always been curious why my pawn just stands around and sometimes shoots if 8’m lucky as strider, ranger, etc but is absolutely nonstop aggro as warrior. Guess the 3 skill limit actually forces them to use their limited skills.
Oh nice a pawn build ;3 . Hoping I can change my current ones inclinations to try double HFB spammers. We are both 11-200 sorcs lol. Bolide is awesome btw. I had 3 in my group that could do it. Was basically a meteor shower for wyverns/wyrms at times. Of course...other times just sitting ducks.

I am attempting to make a pawn like the Ranger, I am a bit confused, how does a pawn have 3 inclinations when it shows only 2 in it's profile? I would assume it would choose the one that would be the 3rd highest, I have been using elixir to try and change the inclinations and I can get the Challenger in the primary and Pioneer in the secondary but when I use the Mitigator it replaces the secondary inclination. I don't know if I am completely off with this but if there any way to know if I have Mitigator or any way to make Mitigator my pawns 3rd inclination?
I like fighter shedred assault , but i dont know best build to create.I try warrior 1-100 ,fighter 100 -200.He never dies but i dont know it is best escaling class. The most damage class in lv 100 more is sorcer do 3 i mag damage.All others do 2 points or attack or mag. Maybe warrior 1-100 ,sorcerer 100 -200, try hibrid build .Augments Strengh up e magic up and holy sword.
I found a forum post once that showed how each question influenced the inclinations. See here: www.reddit.com/r/DragonsDogma/comments/74m224/pawn_creation_questionnaire_tips/ But they’re not set in stone. Pawns learn from you, and model your behavior. The commands you give them can change them. The biggest factor is elixirs from Johnathan, in the encampment just north of Cassardis. They will basically shift the inclinations you take elixirs for into top spots. I’m a hoarder, so eventually Acquisitor always works it’s way into the top 3. So I keep elixirs in storage if I need to modify. The knowledge chairs will show which is in secondary and tertiary spot , so you can keep an eye on what’s in that spot. And swap their positions if desired. (Edit: for elixirs, buy 5 of the 3 inclinations desired. Use them in reverse order. So if you want Mitigator as primary, use last.)
Each game has a set list. You have to get through that list. Saving and reloading won't change it :/ I got several mage staves before I got a sorcerer one. Sorcerers are archistaff not staff. What a troll lol... I kinda wish you could get some RC for selling the weapon or armor but at least you can get 1.5-2 million gold for selling one you don't need.
@@barringtonlevy1941 Oh yeah so if you for example Are a sorcerer and want a sorcerer weapon. Change your pawn also to a sorcerer. It still has to work its way through your list. If its going to be a mage staff in your game it's going to be a mage staff. if it has to go through 4 mage staves in your game it has to until it gets down to the weapon you want. It's not random unfortunately that would make for a lot less grind though.
If you and your pawn are the same vocation you almost guaranteed items for that vocation. So if you're wanting weapons and armor for your pawn, it'd be best to switch to your pawns vocation, and vice versa. Other than that it's just rng. Hope this helped
Out of curiousity, have you tried a similar variant of sorc with pure High Miasma spam? I might be biased, but I love that spell to death myself.. From anecdotal experience it seems it's highest DPS (bar HFB cheese) 'in general' coupled with 'extended duration' effect. Also, off topic on this clip.. You seem to love Fracture dart, although I suck at using it well I did notice pawns are insanely good with it (in comparison.. lol). What I do not get is what it differentiates itself with Hailstorm Volley - they seem to have the same role in combat? Would love your elaboration in this
Miasma is awesome. It's my favorite spell to use. Pawns don't seem to use it so well though. Pawns tend to while the enemy is moving or going away from the location, so it sits there hitting nothing. Maelstrom has a large AOE, so a pawn can land it off target and it will still get many bodies.
I personally don't like Maelstrom. It's excellent for crowd control and taking down large groups of smaller enemies, but my personal gripe is how it blocks your vision when you are near the spell.
I have the Weirdest problem. My pawn refuses to use fracture dart. Even when it's her only skill and i take her daggers away. She just shoots her bow but no fracture dart

Only time I ever rely on my pawn is for heals and carry weight. Unless I'm playing mage then I make them tanks. Speaking of which, do you have any tips for quick leveling of magic based characters like sorcerer? It's been a good minute since I've played them and I'm ashamed to admit that I've forgotten my old method...
Your comment gave me an idea for a video. Death at the Bridge is a great way. I will have the video up in a couple of days. HFB, but it's tricky and you have to be precise, but it's easy once you do it. Other than that Cursed Dragon and Seism is good, Petrify on Garm is good, or Exequy on anything is good
No, that's the point of dodge roll though. Strider can't block with a shield so dodge roll is fro evasion. MK can block with a shield, so dodge roll is not needed. The Sword skill Full moon slash has i-frames, which can avoid damage.
hi buddy . well done. and i have a question: do u know how i can get those master rings with magic and strength on them? which vocation i must choose for myself and my pawn ??? and when ever i purify, i get the same rings with same stats like previous purification. do u know if i finish one play through or if i rest the game with switching from easy mode to hard mode , the purification will change or not? thankful in advanced
Vocation doesn't matter on the Master Rings. And welcome to hell, with that endless trap. I usually would need to purify about 500 BBI gears before I get all of the rings that I wanted. The moment that you pick up the Cursed item is when the purification result is determined, at least for Master Rings. Skill rings are the Mage/Mage for magic, Yellow/Yellow for bows and daggers and Red/Red for Sword and shield

I am not sure if 100 is possible. I think the most that I have seen is 96 or 98. I think I am done with pawns for awhile, kinda burnt out on them. i need some solo time. And the 500 purifications is for maybe 3 vocations considering skill rings and Master rings, but lately for the las t year or so I gave up on purifying anything. Just Novelty for Augments, i don't care about the gear any more. these are old saves that i already have the gear
Pawns are only scripted to use blast arrows on a boss, or in dire need. If everyone is low on health, or a boss shows up, or you command "go" will the pawn pull blast arrows or periapts from their inventory. Nilfred (this Ranger) only had 10fold and 2 augments that help the bow (damping and precision) his primary inclination is Chalenger, which also increases bow use. The entire setup for him encurages blast arrow 10fold, and so he does

Is there any reason as to why you didnt have core skills (except quick loose) for your high dmg ranger pawn? If you remove the daggers doesnt it negate the effect of having core skills?
So without Daggers equipped, he can't use Engrave, or Roundalay, but he can still dodge and double jump. So Dodge and Double jump do not show but they are still there. Without daggers the other 2 cores are inactive. When we do a Fist only run, we can still dodge roll and double jump if we are a yellow vocation, even though we only have our fists. Pretty handy when doing a Bare fist run

This video below shows who and how. Around 1 and 1/2 minute. Get 5 bottles of each 3 elixirs. Drink in the opposite order. So if you want 1mitigator 2pioneer 3challenger, drink in order 5x elixir of challenger 5x elixir of pioneer and 5x elixir of mitigator. Now number 3 is challenger edit. Sorry I forgot the video link. On pc we can have multiple saves, and multiple steam accounts. I have 3 accounts with about 30 save files. Pure strength, pure magic, balanced. No mods. There are some. I had some texture mods.
Nihil0.0 I’m on PC and when I started a new game it deleted the previous game, like on the console. Maybe I’m just missing something. What you’re saying doesn’t make sense to me right away. Not sure about having multiple steam accounts...will have to look into it. Do you play on hard mode?
The save files need to be manual. I take my save file from the DDDA folder and put them in a separate folder for my saves. Then I switch th-cam.com/video/Xmq0VIiTZQk/w-d-xo.html&t= Yep, Hard mode
Ultimately no, it does not matter. But you wouldn't want a high strength attack for a Magic vocation, or a high magic for a Physical vocation. Our weapons provide us with our damage numbers
I (as unarmed Ranger) punched Grigori once in flight and once more after my synced sorcerer pawns (3) erased every health bar. In addition they used the balistas to bring him down to earth. Why couldn't they finish him is the question? Their max skills given (all dark and physical) were 3 to 4 at most at different levels of power.
Warrior and Fighter weren't designed to be a high damage vocation so much. They are more about stagger and knockdown and keeping aggro from enemies. Sorcerer and Ranger and Strider are the high damage vocations, when it comes to pawn's AI

I never had any issues like that with my pawn as a Ranger. She's extremely reliable.
Now Sorcerer however... Mage support is fine though.

I used a mod from Nexus and made my main pawns an assasin....the emblem and vocation name appears but idk if it works......
Not really. They are coded to use the hybrid skills.

Yep, I like those areas with high defense enemies. They catch you off guard and remind you, if ill equipped to come back at a later time

I have a sorc pawn. And I equipped all the long spells such as bolide and stuff like that (I know awful) but I also have holy affinity on her as well and the reason I like that is because now whenever I press "help" she instantly starts casting holy affinity so I love her in BBI
So pioneer gets your sorc pawn to keep her distance? Good to know, my pawn has the bad habit of standing a bit too close to the enemy and interrupt her casting whenever they target her...

Nihil I have suggestion for a video. Would be usefull and complimentary to make a clarifiction on when to use striking and when slashing, which enemies and parts get higher damage from which type. Also I would love to see explanation on how really shields work, meaning the upgrade on 3 stars and above with improved blocking ability, how does it translate to augment for perfect block and if it works together at the same time or is it pointless.
The periphery augment makes a huge difference. Other than that, just upgrade the shields, however don't expect a tier1 shield to be able to perfect block Elimiator's side swing or Elder Oger's side swing. I was working on a block video awhile ago, but it became too long to go over all of tge thresholds when considering many enemies. But Periphery is very worth it. And tge same with slash and blunt, with so many enemies to civer that video would be too long. I touch briefly on it in my Warrior scematics vid though.

Nah, I see Nilly use it kinda often, but I don't think it would interfere. They also end up never using it when it matters.

Totally awesome seeing a pawn take down the Daimon. Of course for me, seeing a sorcerer pawn knifing through enemies with constant casting was way cool. One question though, miasma works so well and is a fast cast skill, why didn't you add it for that one?
I think if you look back at your pawns that you see cast Miasma, they rarely cast it efficiently. In that, they miss or the fog only lands for a couple of seconds. At least in my observations, Miasma on a pawn is minutely successful. With Maelstrom, Bolide and Seism, it's such a large AOE that a pawn can't fail. And I do have the next video as "SpellSync" build. Which will look at the core of SPell syncing and one of my pawns will have Miasma but since I and controlling the spells that they do she never used it.
And yeah, it was nice to see a Ranger solo Daimon, without any curetives

Disagree. Seism is nearly useless. Miasma is a huge help w phys resist enemies like living armor. That second part of the fight w them goes so much faster w miasma. Its the quickest casting spell too.
Also, if u hire another sorc pawn w miasma they will dual cast. Which puts the entire room under miasma.

I do have a Support that I am working on, should be this week. Aggro .... not much to say there, just aggro goes to the last heavy attack. Shield summons or WarCry can try, but a follow-up heavy attack is the best for getting and getting aggro

Dont forget that Anodyne heals u but it ALSO damages the undead. So when she throws out a healing spell in the middle of battle, its likely hurting the enemies around as well as healing u.

I recruited a pretty awesome lvl 6 strider on PS4 named Sera, she has GF oblivion set and GF rusted weapons. I never see her get hit by anything unless my other pawns get near her or drakes do their roar that instant kills pawns. Actually she sometimes dies from fall damage, but only when the big flying enemies take off while she's on them. Nevertheless she's ridiculously good for a lvl 6 strider and is pretty much guaranteed to torpor everything with her weapons.
Don't really min max in any game, though I do like watching videos of people that do. I know wh1sper123 proves we don't need to min max to go through the main game or BBI in his nonsense series which are fun to watch to. But yeah I just do whatever I think is fun, idc about being optimal nor do I pay attention to the meta. And by don't pay attention to the meta I mean I literally don't know or care what the meta is in any game whatsoever
True, same here, the only reason i check the meta is to see the op and overused builds and deviate from them. I don't want to use the same build as everyone else. I am playing as a Warrior with 3 sorcerer pawns, an ice, a fire and lightning specialist. It is super fun

If your friends are aware of how to keep aggro, yes. Level 3 bestiary knowledge and utilitarian AI routine will take care of the rest.

Gicel is far more useful than any of those 3. Get 2 pawns to sync their gicel spells and its fucking amazing. They can 1 shot Eliminators.
You can one shot 5 eliminators with 1 maelstrom. Fall damage takes them out instantly.
Wow, i must say, the stagger damage caused by blast arrows and tenfold flurry is a simple yet great combo... the final boss its not even moving, constant high damage. Nihil, what is the best class (with specific build for him) for making a serious dent on the Reaper, he seems too tough at the normal appearance, im somewhat afraid of his sleeping spell. Because i mentioned earlier that i made a glass cannon magick archer but the skills dont seem to get through, maybe it could be the equips idk. Just pointers to the only beast in the BBI i never ended before lmao. Thanks
Magic Archer does well with 4 Magic Rebalancers and Ricochet in a tight hallway. That will kill Death pretty good. The 10fold Blast Arrows as well. Death's sleeping spell is only active for those first few seconds, so after that you are safe, just trigger him to do the lantern and then get away, while he is in purple sleep mode release your attack

Well, MK and MA are pretty easy. Dodge roll has i-frames and the Shield is perfect for so many. Augments are not so specific, but Stability is great for Dragons. I do have enemy attack pattern videos which covers many of them.

That doesnt always happen. U wont always stun lock him that long. Hell break free sometimes and cast those charged attacks.
Id rather have a sorcerer pawn w holy focused bolt than maelstrom or seism. Especially if going in bbi or against the UR. Maelstrom just gets in the way too often. Makes it impossible to see whats going on and bigger enemies wont be stunned or too badly damaged by it. So can cause problems in bbi like in the black abbey or the rotunda

I’ve always been curious why my pawn just stands around and sometimes shoots if 8’m lucky as strider, ranger, etc but is absolutely nonstop aggro as warrior. Guess the 3 skill limit actually forces them to use their limited skills.

I am attempting to make a pawn like the Ranger, I am a bit confused, how does a pawn have 3 inclinations when it shows only 2 in it's profile? I would assume it would choose the one that would be the 3rd highest, I have been using elixir to try and change the inclinations and I can get the Challenger in the primary and Pioneer in the secondary but when I use the Mitigator it replaces the secondary inclination. I don't know if I am completely off with this but if there any way to know if I have Mitigator or any way to make Mitigator my pawns 3rd inclination?

What questions did you pick or set up to get the selected inclinations for ranger pawn
I found a forum post once that showed how each question influenced the inclinations. See here:

But they’re not set in stone. Pawns learn from you, and model your behavior. The commands you give them can change them. The biggest factor is elixirs from Johnathan, in the encampment just north of Cassardis. They will basically shift the inclinations you take elixirs for into top spots. I’m a hoarder, so eventually Acquisitor always works it’s way into the top 3. So I keep elixirs in storage if I need to modify.
The knowledge chairs will show which is in secondary and tertiary spot , so you can keep an eye on what’s in that spot. And swap their positions if desired.
(Edit: for elixirs, buy 5 of the 3 inclinations desired. Use them in reverse order. So if you want Mitigator as primary, use last.)
I found a pawn that’s level 50 with better stats than the top ranked pawn that’s level 200

Each game has a set list. You have to get through that list. Saving and reloading won't change it :/ I got several mage staves before I got a sorcerer one. Sorcerers are archistaff not staff. What a troll lol...
I kinda wish you could get some RC for selling the weapon or armor but at least you can get 1.5-2 million gold for selling one you don't need.

@@barringtonlevy1941 Oh yeah so if you for example Are a sorcerer and want a sorcerer weapon. Change your pawn also to a sorcerer. It still has to work its way through your list. If its going to be a mage staff in your game it's going to be a mage staff. if it has to go through 4 mage staves in your game it has to until it gets down to the weapon you want. It's not random unfortunately that would make for a lot less grind though.

If you and your pawn are the same vocation you almost guaranteed items for that vocation. So if you're wanting weapons and armor for your pawn, it'd be best to switch to your pawns vocation, and vice versa. Other than that it's just rng. Hope this helped
Out of curiousity, have you tried a similar variant of sorc with pure High Miasma spam? I might be biased, but I love that spell to death myself.. From anecdotal experience it seems it's highest DPS (bar HFB cheese) 'in general' coupled with 'extended duration' effect.
Also, off topic on this clip.. You seem to love Fracture dart, although I suck at using it well I did notice pawns are insanely good with it (in comparison.. lol). What I do not get is what it differentiates itself with Hailstorm Volley - they seem to have the same role in combat? Would love your elaboration in this
Miasma is awesome. It's my favorite spell to use. Pawns don't seem to use it so well though. Pawns tend to while the enemy is moving or going away from the location, so it sits there hitting nothing. Maelstrom has a large AOE, so a pawn can land it off target and it will still get many bodies.
Use miasma for boss fights. Bring another pawn to sync their miasma spells. U can clear out the small enemies by yourself.
I personally don't like Maelstrom. It's excellent for crowd control and taking down large groups of smaller enemies, but my personal gripe is how it blocks your vision when you are near the spell.

I have the Weirdest problem. My pawn refuses to use fracture dart. Even when it's her only skill and i take her daggers away. She just shoots her bow but no fracture dart
You probably need to show her. Use the skill many times infront of her, and she will follow. Also give her bow augments, such as Damping, or Trajectory. Also check out these videos. They are about pawns

Only time I ever rely on my pawn is for heals and carry weight. Unless I'm playing mage then I make them tanks.

Your comment gave me an idea for a video. Death at the Bridge is a great way. I will have the video up in a couple of days. HFB, but it's tricky and you have to be precise, but it's easy once you do it. Other than that Cursed Dragon and Seism is good, Petrify on Garm is good, or Exequy on anything is good

No, that's the point of dodge roll though. Strider can't block with a shield so dodge roll is fro evasion. MK can block with a shield, so dodge roll is not needed. The Sword skill Full moon slash has i-frames, which can avoid damage.

Vocation doesn't matter on the Master Rings. And welcome to hell, with that endless trap. I usually would need to purify about 500 BBI gears before I get all of the rings that I wanted. The moment that you pick up the Cursed item is when the purification result is determined, at least for Master Rings. Skill rings are the Mage/Mage for magic, Yellow/Yellow for bows and daggers and Red/Red for Sword and shield

I am not sure if 100 is possible. I think the most that I have seen is 96 or 98. I think I am done with pawns for awhile, kinda burnt out on them. i need some solo time. And the 500 purifications is for maybe 3 vocations considering skill rings and Master rings, but lately for the las t year or so I gave up on purifying anything. Just Novelty for Augments, i don't care about the gear any more. these are old saves that i already have the gear

Did your pawn use explosive arrows??? How did you do that? Mine always just hoards arrows
Pawns are only scripted to use blast arrows on a boss, or in dire need. If everyone is low on health, or a boss shows up, or you command "go" will the pawn pull blast arrows or periapts from their inventory. Nilfred (this Ranger) only had 10fold and 2 augments that help the bow (damping and precision) his primary inclination is Chalenger, which also increases bow use. The entire setup for him encurages blast arrow 10fold, and so he does
Does articulacy do anything for MA im not really sure if it is doing anything for me so I was thinking switching to fortitude for extra protection
It does work on ma, but ma's cast times are already pretty fast. Wyrmking ring can easily replace that augment.

Fortitude is helpful, but Garm's lunge attack is designed to one shot kill or at least close to. This video below should hhelp with Garm, and I have a video for each enemy in my Enemy specific library.

Strider is good. I also like Sorcerer with Fighter, as Fighter can keep aggro away from Sorcerer while casting.

Is there any reason as to why you didnt have core skills (except quick loose) for your high dmg ranger pawn? If you remove the daggers doesnt it negate the effect of having core skills?
So without Daggers equipped, he can't use Engrave, or Roundalay, but he can still dodge and double jump. So Dodge and Double jump do not show but they are still there. Without daggers the other 2 cores are inactive. When we do a Fist only run, we can still dodge roll and double jump if we are a yellow vocation, even though we only have our fists. Pretty handy when doing a Bare fist run

How do you give your pawn the 3rd inclination?
This video below shows who and how. Around 1 and 1/2 minute. Get 5 bottles of each 3 elixirs. Drink in the opposite order. So if you want 1mitigator 2pioneer 3challenger, drink in order 5x elixir of challenger 5x elixir of pioneer and 5x elixir of mitigator. Now number 3 is challenger

You can't revert. Once it's unlocked, the pawn will only use the highest lv skill

On pc we can have multiple saves, and multiple steam accounts. I have 3 accounts with about 30 save files. Pure strength, pure magic, balanced.

The save files need to be manual. I take my save file from the DDDA folder and put them in a separate folder for my saves. Then I switch

Ultimately no, it does not matter. But you wouldn't want a high strength attack for a Magic vocation, or a high magic for a Physical vocation. Our weapons provide us with our damage numbers

I (as unarmed Ranger) punched Grigori once in flight and once more after my synced sorcerer pawns (3) erased every health bar. In addition they used the balistas to bring him down to earth. Why couldn't they finish him is the question? Their max skills given (all dark and physical) were 3 to 4 at most at different levels of power.

Warrior and Fighter weren't designed to be a high damage vocation so much. They are more about stagger and knockdown and keeping aggro from enemies. Sorcerer and Ranger and Strider are the high damage vocations, when it comes to pawn's AI
