If you're wondering how, based on my understanding, if burning ps2 games, 4x speed is the best option because it doesn't really stress the ps2 laser lens to read it since it has lower read speed. It works the best on modchipped ps2's. But if you're lucky then you can run it without even having a modchip.

For me it works best on x8. It can run on x24. I have tried several speed with GTA Vice City. x24 makes only PS2 sounds like when you play CD-ROM PS2 blue disc. It only makes PS2 change noises that's all. If you are burning big game, like San Andreas then use x6 or x8 speed. Not higher than x16. I have tried x16 and x24 speed for GTA San Andreas. It glitch at x24 speed.
My dad bought me a modded ps2 when I was a kid and he gave me a burned ps2 game when I did good at school or did a task or something, it was always like christmas when he showed me a game but it costed him nothing but the dvd disc :') i wish I could do this for my kid but burning to a blu ray gets expensive I believe haha and everything is online now so he or she probably wants to play online anyway
that is soo cool, wish my dad did that. Sometimes I would go through my dads old cds and rip some of his bootleg ones, also watch his bootleg movies he had lying around.
My uncle used to pirate and burn movies before they were officially released on DVD was when I was a kid. I vividly remember being able to watch Robots not long after it released in theaters but before the DVD release. Sometimes he’d have to use two discs in case the full movie didn’t fit on one DVD, or other times you’d see his silhouette pass by 😂 good times

Some games which are little bit less gb Or some games which are of till 800 mb i am not able to burn those games to the DVD but some times after the burn is successful then after when I try to put it in the PS2 system, still it doesn't work at all
I think the problem is that your console isn’t modded. The PS2 needs some sort of modification to read burned discs because it has a security system I believe.

you need to mod your ps2 before it will play burned games. either modchip or mechapwn exploit(there is probably other methods aswell). google for more information

Depends on the model....if your model is scph-10000 then a modchip cannot be install so you cant play burn game....but you can softmod its to play game from external drive....above that model a chip can be installed

Why does this not work for me? I followed every single step, I even set burning speed to x4 just to be extra sure. But when I inserted the disc I get the red warning telling me to insert a CD or DVD into the playstation. I have used many other burners and videos but none of them seem to work for me I dont know why :(
@@daveraschke Yes, I use a DVD-R and I tested a few years ago that it can be read by the PS2 laser lens. But, I also have a problem every time for at least an hour or sometimes sooner when I play a game the DVD doesn't read properly but when I turn off the PS2 in a few minutes and play it again, it can be read fine again. I don't know if the laser lens has a problem or my DVD-R disc is bad. The thing is, almost all of the games that I burn to DVD-R are like that.

Hehe things that happen back in 2004 seellers selling pirated ps2 games using burned dvd r disks, miss buying pirated games usually shops close down after 1 month or so to prevent police raid hehe

my main concern here is because i think i burned my Monster Hunter 2 english patch rom in track-at-once, it caused the cd to have this weird line in the middle of the recorded area, and while playing the game, there is no music, the music glitches about and the game takes 5x more to load anything, and i did have a recorded japoneese version to test and compared, the main question i have is if i should use DAO or TAO

Get a DVD-R
Get an original game and copy it to hard drive in ISO format
Burn ISO with the free DVD boot files
Play game on unmodified PS2

Guys, use either verbatim or sony DVD-R or RW. They are the most dependable ones
Isnt x8 too fast for ps2? Ive heard x4 is better. I tried x3 but didnt test it yet

4x does work well I haven't tried 6x

You can use Nero. You want to burn image if it's an IMG file, burn data if it's a burn from an original game.

You can only use dvd-r discs on a chipped ps2, if your ps2 isn't chipped it won't recognize the disc

No console can be unmodded thanks to cturts new programm just patch the iso with the new programm and then burn it with x4 speed
