I’m so sorry it’s been a difficult year. We are here in support of you and whatever you want to need to share. Your videos are a great help to me, personally in both recommendations but also your videos relax me. And I too am picky about my five star readings. I believe I have less than 10 overall. And that is generous. Thank you again! ❤
I've been meaning to read the Barsetshire series I think since I joined booktube haha, I really will read it eventually!! 😅 Same with the Evie Dunmoore series, but someone told me it spoils several classics so I haven't picked it up because of it 😕 I hadn't heard of The Rose series! I'll definitely check it out. I always get great recommendations from your videos 🥰 Karla's channel is great! I'm happy she went ahead and opened her channel. Funnily enough I also want to start reading in Spanish more, as a Mexican living in México it's funny to say it, but I've mainly been reading in English since starting booktube. 🙈 Since you like historical fiction with romance, off the top of my head I can think of Arráncame la vida, by Ángeles Mastretta (that's one that I always feel I should read because it's set in the city I'm from, but precisely because it's a "must" I've avoided it haha... I need to stop being a contrarian and actually read it!). Yay for end of the school year, hopefully next year it'll be better for you! 🥰
Thank you! I don't remember Evie Dunmore's books spoiling classics, but then again I've read a lot, so...maybe? The Rose series I owe to my college roommate, Ellie - thanks, Ellie! And I'll definitely mark Arráncame la vida for later, especially to find out more about your area!
Thanks for the shoutout Heather! One of my yearly goals is to read Trollope for the first time, I need to fit him in somewhere. Briefly a Delicious Life is on my list! I’ve heard great things about it. What a fun tag, I definitely want to answer it myself. I’m sorry you’ve had such a tough year, I hope you enjoy your much-deserved break 💜
Thanks! I felt the same about Trollope for years and admittedly it took me two goes to really get into his writing, but I love it now (especially just now that he took a dig at Nathaniel Hawthorne in Can You Forgive Her?).
@@freshparchment From hearing other people talk about what they enjoy most about his books I feel like he’s definitely a future favorite for me! He sounds delightful!
Hi Heather I'll be starting The Chronicles of Barsetshire this Victober . Briefly a Delicious Life is on my TBR. Some auto buy authors (Rae Ann Thayne and Susan Wiggs sweeter contemporary romance, and Elizabeth Goudge and Miss Reed , cozy classics). Genres (cozy classics, historical fantasy, sweeter romance)
I am so sorry this year has been so difficult. I hope summer is gentle to you and that next year is so much better! Briefly a Delicious Life sounds so good. I'll look it up! Thanks for the romance recommendations as well. I do read a fair amount of spicy romance, but I would like to find more that is not as spicy just to change things up.
You had interesting answers. You're making me interested in romance, which I don't normally read. I'm also stingy about giving 5 stars. I don't think I've given a single one this year, or maybe just one. I've been reading a lot of good history, but I tend to rate that 4 stars for good and worthwhile.
Totally understandable. Definitely start with historical romance if you're tempted (Evie Dunmore or Mimi Matthews would be my go-tos for non-Harlequin, more substantial romances).

Aw, thanks so much! These videos and community have really helped me stay grounded, too.

Thanks so much! It's been a gentle two days so far, so hopefully it continues. Hope you enjoy the recommendations, spicy or mild. :)
Really enjoyed this introduction to your wit & reading self. I am a giant poetry nerd, but thanks for the prod to get to Trollope - I will follow.
Thank you! Hope you love Trollope when you get to him.
Ánimo con Ildefonso Falcones. Yo estoy leyendo en inglés a Mimi Matthews......Gentleman Jim me encanta!!!! Has leído la novela?
Un abrazo❤
¿Quién es el autor de Gentleman Jim? Quizás la he leído, pero no estoy segura. ¡Que te disfrute de Mimi Matthews! ¿Cuál de sus series estás leyendo?

I also don’t enjoy romance (especially modern romance) but now I am curious.
