How to type in a circle or shape in Adobe Illustrator

Was hoping you would explain how to change the direction of the text. I want two sets of text: one on top of circle, one on bottom. But using your tutorial, they will be on opposite side of the path if I want them legible... illegible if I put them on the same side of the path. So this tutorial is only half the story when working with text on a path.
