@@PrincessN566I'd expect more jealousy from a country less reliant on the US economics and military; e.g., China or Russia. The US is in the position of the British Empire at the end of the Victorian Era.
It's definitely not perfect, but if there's a choice between US, EU, Canada, Japan, or UK, the US will take the top spot regardless of who's on power.
I've been the UK, and can confirm that the Royal Family and UK history is the biggest attraction.

Please don't insult those in the UK. As a Canadian, I am well aware of the good things in the UK, that are missing in the USA. You don't have healthcare for all, your children's education is often lacking, unless there is money for private schools. And the absence of effective gun regulations puts the USA at the very bottom of good civilization. Above all, the Queen has provided 70 years of consistency and leadership, that oversees the government. During that time the USA has had 13 presidents...of varying abilities to lead.

As a Spaniard living in Kentucky it always bugs me when the only European countries Americans mention are France and Italy (and sometimes Germany - they admire Germany). What about other European countries? The fact that some people don't want to go to other places because people don't speak English is SO ignorant. And thanks Whoopi for reminding Sunny that the U.S. is also built on the backs of slaves and Native Americans. Some always remember the genocide Spain did in the Americas but they seem to forget about their own genocide.

Good point but people who come to English speaking countries are expected to know the language. Also look at how the indigenous Canadian children were treated that has only recently come out. White Americans are not even native to America. Same with Australia and south Africa. Johnny Depp for one comes from predominantly British descent. But when ethnic people go to live in predominantly white countries we hear they're taking over our country and stealing our jobs. When that couldn't be further from the truth. There would be an even greater shortage of NHS staff, carer's , solicitors farm workers and hospitality staff without immigration.

@@Justabitnosey What I meant was people who VISIT other countries (not stay) are not expected to know the language of that given country. I said that because The View hosts are talking about visiting European countries merely as tourists. Now if you move to another country and stay indefinitely you'll learn the language eventually if you didn't learn it previously (I know many examples). Regarding the indigenous people of the Americas, I agree, they all have suffered discrimination, neglect, racism, etc., and here in the U.S. I feel Native Americans are still invisible.

This felt like a ‘how to offend the brits 101’. The hosts felt completely uninformed and were so disrespectful (a sign of the cultish American school system perhaps?). The UK is far more than its monarchy; it has so much culture (e.g., music, art, theatre etc.), history, inventions (such as the English language for a start) and traditions. I completely disagreed with the comments about the bad food (stereotypes much!) obviously the presenter who commented she’d studied in London didn’t get out much. Our dishes aren’t fancy like the French but are warming and comforting like the Italians. Our dishes when made correctly like Cottage Pie, Toad in the Hole, and Tikka masala (yes, a British invention) can all be full of flavour and are so delicious! We also have many deserts (or puddings) such as apple pie (yes British invention again), Strawberry trifle, Eton Mess or Treacle tart to name a few. To me, American dishes are just fried greasy food filled with chemicals and sugar (so, I think it’s clear whose food is bad). Our weather may not be ‘Californian sunshine’ but I wouldn’t want that anyway as I much prefer our weather (we also drink tea because we like it not because of the weather). The comments about Her Majesty and the royals were awful, they serve our country trying to make it better. These presenters should be ashamed of themselves!

I went to the UK for a month and I loved the English breakfast!! That was good eggs bacon, sausage pretty common in America but it was much fresher and just tasted different to me. Now when I was there I was told not to eat English food as it was bland and not that great however since the UK has been getting lots of immigration from Europe there are a lot of French , Italian and Indian restaurants so it's not really a big deal it's just food isn't what brings people to the UK. It's mainly the royal family and historical significance since UK is so ancient it is more of a history nerds paradise lol. Their weather can be very nice but it is mostly gloomy weather which makes you feel a little depressed if your not used to it. Ireland was so so beautiful so green and sunny (not always the case I hear) UK is very wonderful there is so much to see and compared to American the British are way more friendlier and amicable than Americans. I want to go back again loved the memories. And so what if the royal family is the main attraction? Had the hosts done some more research, they would have mentioned the sovereign's public estate, the Crown Estate, that turns over all of its net profit to HM Treasury. The government keeps 75% of that revenue and gives 25% to the monarch in the form of the Sovereign Grant. This arrangement has been in place for every monarch since George III. Also, they would have mentioned the Duchy of Lancaster which provides private income to the monarch and the Duchy of Cornwall which funds The Prince of Wales.
